Revenge is a dish best served cold. Hoyer and Pelosi will get their just desserts in due time. They spit on the graves of those who fought and died for the Constitution including the 4th Amendment. They would sell their country out and the honor and memory of those lying in hallowed and unhallowed ground around the world for a bag of silver.

Thanks for the Carole King. It is welcome.
I’m feeling just devastated about this FISA loss. We have been making these calls off and on all year. I have written so many emails … written so many times to Dianne Feinstein, and Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid, and …
I should have worked harder … I should have made more calls.
They had to do this practically in the middle of the night in order to pass it. Because there is so much opposition to it, and very little if any public support.
This vote is the poster child for the case that Washington is now against the exercise of democracy, and is cut of in its own oligarchic bubble from people out here. They have dismantled the Constitution they were sworn to uphold. I am for working to defeat each one of them — Starting with Steny Hoyer of course.

I will donate to help remove Pelosi, Hoyer and Conyers, even if we get repugs for a couple of years.

– They’re voting themselves out of power. Why in the world would they do that? –

They don’t think they are voting themselves out of power. And most of them are probably right.

The ramifications of the bill not being “mentioned” in the Senate today is that first mention will happen on Monday, when Senator Reid asks UC to take up FISA. The UC would probably be, “UC to take up FISA when the Senate completes action on the Housing Bailout,” which is a somewhat indefinite time. If there is objection to that, Reid can file a cloture motion to limit debate on the motion to take up FISA. If he files that on Monday, the cloture vote to limit debate on the motion to proceed would be Wednesday morning, and the 30 hours of post-cloture debate running out Thursday afternoon.

Then, someone (probably REID) would seek UC to vote on passage. Objection can be asserted against that, too.

I’ve frequently seen parallel cloture motions (on an amendment and final passage), but there can’t be a paralleling of “motion to proceed” and “final passage,” because theoretically, the motion to proceed can be rejected, so there is no pending matter (amendment or bill) that could be subjected to a vote.

I don’t think that’s what they fear. You’re right, this won’t make them more secure, and most of them are smart enough to realize that. If anything, it will make their jobs less secure, because now whoever is President can listen in on them.

No longer can be called the peoples” House Of Representatives”
It must now be called the “House Of Traitors” and if you must contact your representative who voted for this sell-out always start by saying ” Is my traitor representative available…
