Especially this year, with all of the ugly rumors about Obama swirling around, the Press Club should be about standing up for the truth, instead of abetting a know fraud and convicted felon.

One wonders what the NPC’s reaction would be if a woman tried to rent the Peter Lisagor Room, in order to claim that she had John McCain’s love child. Something tells me, they wouldn’t allow it.

Surely, Tim Russert will forever be known as one of the greatest political journalists — on air or off.

As a public relations practitioner, I’m proud that “Timothy J. Russert” was also one of “ours” for a short but critical time in the 1980s — and equally proud that he was a fellow New Yorker.
