The Democrats are getting ready to sell us down the river.
Again.
Having failed to do anything they were elected to do in 2006, they managed to do one thing right — not pass retroactive immunity for the telecoms. But according to CQ and The Hill, Steny Hoyer has brokered a deal and entered into an agreement with the White House and the GOP that effectively gives the telecoms everything they want, with a nice bit of kabuki for a screen.
Unacceptable.
As Glenzilla teases at here, we’re going to be forming a new organization to target elected officials who have become more responsive to K Street money than their constituents. First up? Steny Hoyer and everybody’s favorite…Joe Lieberman. This election is not going to be 2006 all over again. We learned our lesson.
Anyway, we’re looking for a name for the organization, something that is short and pithy and lets people know that we’re there to hold politicians accountable.
And we’re taking suggestions in the commments. If we pick your idea you’ll win a copy of Matt Taibbi’s Great Derangement, which — if you missed Saturday’s book salon (and Taibbi’s flame war in the comments with a 9/11 Truther) — is da bomb.

Thanks for the support, DMAC. I was offended by Taibbi making it appear I pestered him when I wrote one email after reading his book which he never answered. The cell phone question is real as is the question of why someone faked cell phone conversations if indeed they were faked. As for the fall of the third tower, it’s possible the plane that crashed in PA was supposed to hit it except the pilots got lost and crashed. If the building had been mined, they’d have to blow it up or the bombs would be discovered. After Kennedy’s assassination I would not put anything past our government. My feelings remain unbruised.

What makes Tower 7 so intriguing is it fell in the exact same fashion as the other two Towers. To bring a building down like Tower 7 or any other building, it takes weeks to put the detonation material in it. Tower 7 was brought down very quickly….on 9/11/01. If Tower 7 was imploded then that means the other two Towers were too.
Again, another great question that has gone unanswered by the “experts” in our government!

What makes Tower 7 so intriguing is it fell in the exact same fashion as the other two Towers. To bring a building down like Tower 7 or any other building, it takes weeks to put the detonation material in it. Tower 7 was brought down very quickly….on 9/11/01. If Tower 7 was imploded then that means the other two Towers were too.
Again, another great question that has gone unanswered by the “experts” in our government!”

see, this is where we have to divide—tower 7 should have been slammed, not imploded, that i agree with, but, that doesn’t mean the other two were loaded, too…….i have engineer friends whom i trust that verified that the two towers could have fallen from structural causes….and i looked into it for a few months, i’m not an engineer, but know a little, and that part i don’t have a problem with….the tower 7 is the part that eggs on the thought of more questions in the back of my mind. that have never been answered. could be something going on that was unrelated and just dumb luck that it all happened at the same time……the owner could have had a hand in it, who knows……..i don’t know.
i have no doubts about the two towers, but tower 7 doesn’t jive, didn’t jive at the time, and that’s why i made all of the tapes…..and i am not a conspiracy person, just something doesn’t match up intellectually or factually, i wonder and make notes. or tape it.
problem is, i was in a bad marriage at the time and can’t recall all of it now……..would have to watch the tapes…..but i remember sitting there thinking, huh? waaaaaaait a minnnnnnnute…….what?
so, that’s why i don’t shut down anyone, cuz i don’t know either, and neither do my enginner/architect friends….one of them is a steel structure architect……that’s all he does, structural steel of buildings. he says tower 7 is an unknown.

The floors collapsed but the structure did not. When this fire happened it convinced me something sinister did indeed happen on 9/11. I would have not questioned a thing if the floors that were on fire collapsed that day, but when all three buildings fell straight down structure and all, well, let’s just say I haven’t been able to trust a damn thing since then! LOL

kay at 339–i didn’t look at your madrid link yet, there are all kinds of ways a building can burn and not fall…..one in ohio burnt, but the steel structure is still there………
but i will say, the intense temperatures that happened on 911 to the twin towers are not duplicable, could only have been brought down the exact way they were…….lots of jet fuel, it was the ONE WAY to do it, and they did
any other type of demolition would not have brought about the same result….couldn’t have happened.

the fire on 911 was a ’perfect storm’-hate that cheesy phrase, but it’s true– it has to be a certain temperature and certain place in the structure, the twin towers was one of two spots they could have done it…….and the intensity of jet fuel temperatures is the only thing that could do it……these guys were smart and knew exactly what they were doing and how to do it. precision demolition.

kay–no, i like the you tubes, i’ll watch them in the morning……..i figured out a way to do it, i load them when i go to bed, noone’s calling then and it doesn’t slow down my use of the web while i’m on it….is ok…..
one thing you are missing is the melting point of steel……..can only be reached certain ways…picture a welder with a specific point-welding tool, then picture the smelting pots that pour the metal into the forms….you don’t have to catch the structure on fire, you melt it…..same as when you made it…one of the only ways to reach that temperature is jet fuel, lots of it…..remember, the jets were loaded with it…….the building didn’t ’burn’ as the examples you cited, it melted the structure and it collapsed…….a burning building doesn’t reach that temperature, it looks as hot, but it is thousands of degrees cooler than the temperature of jet fuel burning. melting steel…….and without the steel, the building collapses. same as our bodies are supported by bone.
picture a house of cards, no, picture your house……it has i-beams, it has rafter beams, it has load-bearing walls–picture taking a few of them out and how your house would fall. just cutting a doorway into one load-bearing wall will make your whole house shift and fall…….
they hit a load-bearing wall and melted the steel structure holding it up………

I also know a structural engineer. If the upper floors collapsed, that is all support vanished, that would cause a catastrophic failure of the lower floors. While there is discussion of the temperature of burning jet fuel and melting steel, it would seem the underlying structure would not collapse evenly and might fall in the direction of the notch much like a tree. I came across something, unfortunately I don’t have the link, where someone the temperature spreads through the steel structure so the temperature the steel in any one place wouldn’t go above 700 degrees. That aside there is still the third tower to explain.

ekunin–i feel satisfied about the two towers, there is no doubt in my mind that it happened as seen….as i stated earlier, i have other friends in the engineering and architectural fields and they all agreed independent of each other, and i researched it for a few months on my own and had to agree…i wish i could give my friend’s name, but like i said earlier, it would piss him off, he’s a republican…….however, the tower 7 questions are still alive in my mind, and in his. he is well known nationally for his structural steel knowledge and makes a whole lotta money giving it. he has questions about tower 7. and so do i.
but i base this on what i learned for myself, not what i was told, and it matched.

ekunin–i forgot to add, after the melting point collapse, there was a load collapse for the other floors.
the underlying floors would collapse evenly…….they can’t help but collapse evenly……even in a traditional demolition you rely on the the load collapsing evenly, that is common knowledge in the trade…..once the load is there, is even collapse. structural steel is like toothpicks under the dressings….certain things make the load fall…..fall like a house of cards.

and ekunin i forgot to add–think about it, you said didn’t get above 700 degrees…bullshit, that is nothin’…my pottery kiln goes way above that and it won’t melt steel….i fire at almost 2000 degrees…..a normal bonfire gets above that……that is what i was trying to illustrate earlier with kay, those temperatures will burn a lot, but not steel………jet fuel can get to top temperatures possible, like smelting, like when smelting steel…….so can also be temperatures deconstructing steel. jet fuel surpassed that by a mile……check a few more sources about steel. then compare it again. is all simple science, not rocket science. jet fuel, right spot.
