Thanks for that link. Folks here feel the seasonal crunch in the summer, trying to keep cool, but I know that many of the people I work with are between a rock and a hard place already. Echoes of the past… “Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?”

Speaking of Herbert’s column, he references s story from one of Bernie Sanders’ constituents. He has compiled a booklet of these stories, which Bill Moyers mentioned last night and it is up on Bernie’s site. It is heartwrenching. Get it here.

Good morning, pups. It’s Collins, Blow and Herbert today. La Collins says “Candidates, Fly Away Home,” and that with the general election five months away, it feels as if we’re embarking on a very long cruise with two neighbors in the last throes of a troubled marriage. Mr. Blow asks “Why is Mom in Rehab?” and says a growing percentage of older women are being treated for harder drugs. Mr. Herbert, in “Letters From Vermont,” says intense economic anxiety has gripped tens of millions of working Americans.
