A couple of days ago, Tony Blankley performed one of those truly amazing logical contortions that only conservatives can pull off, using Barack Obama’s eminently reasonable statement that:
We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK. That’s not leadership. That’s not going to happen.
…to argue:
Is there absolutely no curiosity… about the assertion… that letting Americans eat as much as they want is "not going to happen?" Doesn’t that shockingly dictatorial assertion deserve comment and inquiry?
Yes, it is true that Mr. Obama was explicitly saying that what wasn’t going to happen was "other countries [saying] OK" to Americans eating as much as we want. But a fair reading of the whole passage suggests that Mr. Obama agrees with those other countries. And as president, what exactly would he try to do regarding Americans who want to eat as much as they want (or drive SUVs or set their own thermostat)?
Dictator or democrat? Radical or liberal? Who in the world is this man? Where in the world is the responsible media? What’s going on?
So… Blankley willfully misinterprets Obama’s statement to claim that Obama has dictatorial tendencies, then admits that he misinterpreted it, but then claims to be right anyway. Breathtaking.
But Blankley is right about one thing: When he takes office, Obama will be a dictator. Whether he wants it or not, all the unchecked, ill-gotten executive power that BushCo. has accumulated over the last eight years will flow to him like he’s Highlander beheading the last Immortal. President Obama will begin his term as one of the most powerful executives since FDR, and with almost as big a mess to clean up.
And how did Dubya obtain all this power? Congress gave it to him, freely and willingly, continuing to do so long after the toxic fog of 9/11 lifted. And it wasn’t just Republicans, there were lots of Democrats pitching in, too. Hell, some of them are still trying to help Bush out even now, when he’s the lamest of lame ducks and the unpopularest of unpopular preznits. Who knows, some of them may even help with his next attempt to legislate away habeas corpus.
But what if it’s not weakness? What if the cunning Democrats actually planned all this out, knowing that no ordinary mortal president could fix everything BushCo. broke, and also knowing that Dubya and his minions would make such complete asses of themselves that a Democrat couldn’t possibly fail to get elected president this year. So by pretending to be weak, the pro-executive power Democrats assured themselves of a mighty Superpresident in 2009, with the extraconstitutional superpowers necessary to right the wrongs, punish the wicked, and stop the country from going over the cliff.
Or they could just be a bunch of clueless chickenshits.
NOTE: The preceding is satire, and is not meant to endorse unchecked presidential power in any way. If you are a Democratic president experiencing unchecked presidential power lasting more than four weeks, consult a constitutional scholar immediately.

Hi Eli xxxxxxxxxxxxooooooooo
dont take away fatTonys hambugggger,he might cry
Hi sadly!
Great post, Eli! One thing I’m looking forward to when Obama becomes president is the right wingers worshiping him because he’s the president. Yep, for the past eight years all I’ve heard the neocons say is WE (liberals/Democrats/progressives) have to be nice to Georgie Bush because he’s our president and Commander-in-Chief. Bah hahahahahahaha! Oh, it’s going to be fun. I’m really looking forward to it. Can’t wait to test their patriotism!
Just the other day I was listening to Ass Limbo on the radio and one of his callers said, “I don’t want our troops to salute that man!” when referring to Obama. Oh boy! Their Patriotism/My Country Right or Wrong Meme is coming to a close! LMAO
Uh, so?
Hi Eli…well good thing Obama is a constitutional scholar…
Sorry… Two many beeeers.
;~P
(bows) Konnichiwa, Eli and sadlyyes
You raise some interesting questions in my mind. For instance, just what can a Democratic preznit and Congress do to negate some of Shrub’s executive orders? Stuff like that. I’d have to sit down and make out a list.
That..was priceless…heh, heh, heh…
The angel on my shoulder is telling me that absolute executive power is bad, but the devil on the other side is telling me that it would serve the Right right if Obama did to them exactly what they did to us.
Make up other sh*t…???
Gotta remember not to say “f**k” in fronta Eli
Delicate sensibilities and all.
Old Chinese saying: Man wanting revenge, dig two graves.
I assume that Obama can simply voluntarily divest himself of his ill-gotten powers. Although that devil is telling me that he should use them to inflict enough pain on the Republicans to make them *beg* for a constitutional amendment limiting presidential powers.
Of course, the Constitution *already* limits them, but perhaps it’s not clear enough for some people.
hahahhahahahahaahahahahahaha
Can we keep our thermostats at 74? Can I keep my old pickup? Can I still eat shrimp if I want to? Is Obama going to make me go eat worms and ride in a cart? /s
left you a comment on last thread!!!!
Huh? What?
A litany of questions of what the preznit and Congress can do in the short term to correct some of the crap our country has been subjected to. Don’t have to make shit up.
Teh wingnuts will be burning flag pins in protest.
you always crack me up….baby colt down the street…video to follow
hahahahahhaahahahahaha see 21
Kinda like the way I look at holding a grudge, but just a tad different.
The only person it impacts is the person holding it (And not in a positive way)
Nobody else
Unless acted upon
Then it’s something else
Too many beers? But I thought you were DrBong! LOL
i really like Chuck Todd
Compile a list of Dubya’s executive orders, and either cancel them or issue new ones countermanding them, whichever’s easiest.
They did. They just have to erase that made-up crap that Bushco “invented”…because none of it is real…it is only real if people allow them to act on their made-up crap. That is the problem.
Prude
Why do I hear Gilda Radner as Emily Litella echoing in my ears?
“What’s all this fuss I hear about presidential erections? . . .”
Hahahahahahahaha! ;-)
No, Kay… Two amny! hic!
I should have fenced in those damn donkeys…they’d have come in handy when Obama’s president.
True, but I guess it’s a two edged thing. There are policies in force that were created by Executive Order that have done us no good. All that stuff is part of my list. How do they rescind those policies? That sort of thing.
I suppose it’s better than ‘two amny’ bong hits! LOL
Yeah, just hit “delete”…they’re probably gonna be missing off their computers by the time they bail for Paraguay…
heheheeheheeheheeee
I suppose President Obama could always invade Paraguay, or send in a commando extraction team…
Exactly! Honestly, I think Obama will work to fix all the Constitution Round Filing the Bush Regime did because he is a Constitutional scholar, but that said and as you pointed out, wouldn’t it be fun for just a couple of weeks to watch the neocons run for the hills? I think so too!
Been there…
Many moons ago

ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww George Clooney and Brad Pitt

LOL…they’ve changed government since the Bushes bought all that land, and have apparently rescinded the non-extradition policy….yuck, yuck…no place to go, no place to hide…didn’t “w” say to OBL…you can run, but you can’t hide…
Me too, well, except it was booze. Booze hits. ;-)
Speaking of that, ANOTHER person I knew back in the day died this week. It appears to be ANOTHER suicide (this will be #8 since I graduated high school in 1986) due to alcohol & depression. *sigh* Very sad as it always is.
I don’t know…some old ladies are scary. ;-)
Hunted… despised… living like an animal!
They could try to hide in the Chrysler Building in NYC, since Dubai is buying it.
Nah, more bark than bite.

It’s a joke….
I love old people. ;-)

LS, I was thinking today about Kucinich’s 35 Articles of Impeachment. If these Articles being on the record now prohibit George Bush from pardoning anyone, then that means impeaching Dick Cheney could be around the corner!
Hey, as a woman I can dream. I dream often. ;-)
makes me grin ear to ear
we think alike
I seem to recall him saying that constitutional protections should not extend to people who are trying to destroy our society…
What Blankley misses is that no one is going to be eating as much now that the corn fields are under water. I said it before, I’ll say it again —– no more obesity.
I’ll go further and say all of us (for the most part) on FDL think alike. Whadda team!
When I was stationed in Spain in the mid 60’s non-Spanish citizens could not buy property in Spain. Franco was still El Jefe then. At the time I thought it a reasonable policy. I think in cases like the Chrysler Building it’s a reasonable policy. But where do you draw the line?
Hominy.
& grits
Well, there’s property, and then there’s landmarks and national icons. Maybe I’m overly sensitive as a New Yorker, but selling the Chrysler Building is like selling part of America’s soul.
Kittens? No sign of the queen?
“We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK. That’s not leadership. That’s not going to happen.”
It appears to me what Barack was saying is we, as Americans, have to drop our attitude and start acting like we are part of the global community, rather than, acting like we are an island unto ourselves. Blankley missed that too, Dearie. Not surprising! Neocons, racists, and other knuckledraggers can never see the larger picture and it’s because they have cannonballs for heads.
What’s your blog?
I never was so good at singin’
no ive been dropping off food for 3 mornings,in the am,im gonna go collect them…i have 5 of my own but ill find a spot
you do enuf,i dont want you to do anything…really!
Overly sensitive?
See my #28
;~P
Yep, so we can show the world that not everybody is equal. Had to destroy the society so we could save it. Where have I heard that before?
Don’t they have to have actual hearings in progress or something?
Come on Conyers!!!
Check out Kucinich on Democracy Now this morning…he says to impeach now to stop Bushco from attacking Iran…
“JUAN GONZALEZ: Congressman, some of your colleagues in Congress have said that they would be willing to consider impeachment should President Bush move to begin a war with Iran without consulting Congress. Senator Joe Biden has said so, and the House Judiciary Chair John Conyers has said so. Do you think that this is in essence a reaction to your continued pressure over the issue of impeachment?
REP. DENNIS KUCINICH: Well, you know, this isn’t golf. You don’t get a do-over. We can’t let this president wage war and kill more people in violation of international law, in violation of the Geneva Convention. His conduct has been totally in alignment with violating the Nuremberg Principles. We need to hold him to account. And if we do that, there won’t be an attack on Iran. We must not wait for more carnage and for more jeopardy to the peace of the world.
We have enough information right now to offer incontrovertible proof that this president lied to take us into a war, worked with others to manufacture a false case for war, falsely stated to the American people that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, and told the Congress that there was an imminent threat, thereby subverting Congress’s power under Article I, Section 8, with respect to a declaration of war. So what are we waiting for?”

Well Dearie, Save those words.. when we’re out of corn.. I’ll put you up top for Late Late Nite – Corn Blues, with Dearie. *g*

Maybe I’m overly sensitive as a New Yorker,
Now *there’s* a phrase I never thought I’d read…
Mods, prolly
;~P
they are about 8 weeks i think,im nervous now,thinking they are NOT ok,had surgery today,so i couldnt gey=t them…oy
Now you’ve gone and hurt my feelings. I hope you’re pleased with yourself.
Well, from my understanding, because the 35 Articles of Impeachment are now part of the public record, just them being there holds weight and takes some power away from George Bush should he want to pardon or even attack Iran. I could be wrong, but it does make sense. It’s no different than having a Fraud Alert on your credit report. Though, we do have a Congress who at times could care less how things are NORMALLY run.
Georgie Boy would have been a better president if he hadn’t become a dry drunk.
Smoke ‘em if you’ve got em.
There’s another line with a different pronoun but it would get me thrown out of the pool.
I once had a talk with my vet about the number of animals people should keep. He told me about an old lady who had just died and he had power of attorney to find homes, etc for her 23 cats. For years he had gone to her house every so often and checked them out. She had a average size 2 bedroom home and he said there had never been a problem. Said with cats it’s pretty much being able to afford them.
I’m jealous. Yer gonna have all the fun.
I was interested in reading your blog. If ya could go around the world for a buck I couldn’t get outta sight.
Exactly. LOL
Gonna be rough in my hooch without cornbread and grits. Can’t grow corn in FL either.
Actually, now that you mention it, I remember us talking about that when he did the Cheney articles. That would be awesome. Wow. Kucinich rocks.
(slinking away, feeling guilty)(self-flagellation to follow until such time as I can come up with a witty way out of this).
its shaggydogfarms.com
Another line?
He does rock. I met him once and the only thing that came out of my mouth was, “I love you!”. How embarrassing. LOL ;-)
Here is what needs doing. Everything those fuckers touched, thought, wrote, legislated, appointed, manipulated, and stole is negated. The last eight years of what they said they were entitled to do is negated. Then they get their heads shaved for so much whoring and are sent off to jail.
My uncle was a contractor. We had the misfortune to confront several “catteries”- houses that little old ladies had filled with cats..Thing is- they fill up with cat shit- and the cat shit seeps down from the attack, through the ceiling- smellin like- well- cat shit..
Not a pretty picture…
At that age they’ve just been weaned and will stick together for quite a while. Usually the queen will stick around to teach them to hunt, etc. Sounds like something may have happened to the queen. If she was going to abandon them I’d think she’d have done it before now. Quick visit at the vet will tell the tale. Have you watched them eat? If they’re eating that’s a good sign.
Fer starters
Just say no
yea Tues, but its Friday, ill go there at daybreak and grab em
Yeah I read about those every once in a while. Not the case in this case. All spayed or neutered. Just a little old lady who loved tigers and had the money to support them. Had help feeding, cleaning litter boxes, all that stuff. It was cool.
Goopers attacking Obama over Rezko—wonder if they realize how close they are to “Keating Five”.
I hope Barack Obama when he becomes president puts his dissenters in a cage 2 miles from where he’s standing! And I don’t want to hear one cry baby word out of the neocons that Barack is infringing on their 1st Amendment right. Nope. Don’t want to hear it.
OMG…that is hilarious…!!
Glad to hear it…brought back some really shitty memories.
That is my point…what goes around comes around.
Sorry, Mr. Mukasey… I dont have a clue…
;~P
Tim Russert according to MSNBC. They’ve gone into 24/7 testimonials..Hope is watching- cause nobody ELSE is.
the kitttayyyyyyyys,most go get babies
crass
OT: MSNBC keeps looping footage of McBush and Russert…over and over…over and over….the fix is in folks. GE will make sure McBush wins. We’ve got a hellova fight ahead of us…
I hope Barack Obama uses the FBI to set up right wing Congressmen by flashing $90,000 dollars in front of them. And I hope Barack illegally wiretaps their phone calls and then sends in the FBI to nab them.
I also hope the neocons lose their jobs after saying while at work they hate the president.
Bah hahahahahaha! Good gawd, it’s going to be fun next year!
Not all multiple tiger owners are irresponsible. Not to say there aren’t some but they’re in the minority, fortunately. And usually the main cause is they don’t have enough money for the spaying/neutering and never bother asking for help from the local SPCA, which have low cost programs.
they are all busted up understandably but there is other news
They’ve gone into 24/7 testimonials.
Don’t expect it to end anytime soon – the rest of the world be damned.
P.S. They better not be cutting off my Friday Night “Men in Dangerous Prisons” shows – dammit.
Keif is totally destroyed ,sorry Keif
Hey look! We’ve got a picture to be proud of too!
http://msnbcmedia2.msn.com/j/m…..#215;2.jpg
Take that, McTeleprompter.
If those kitties had access to birth control there wouldn’t be a problem…same with rabbits.
Got a vet open on Sat? If not, don’t take them home. Leave them where they are until you can go straight to the vet. Last thing you want is your other tigers exposed to feline leukemia or the other highly contagious stuff they test for right off the bat.
Catraceptives?
Huckabee is stirrin up controversy. Some people think that he should have to have the words “McBush Supporter” under his head when he speaks at Fox….
Probably not necessary….Fox has a “Fur Der Gooperland” stenciled on it’s logo.
Anyone watching FOX who doesn’t realize that they are in Gooperland is a nut case anyway.
I’ve read lots of questions about Russert on this site. But what he wasn’t, in my recollection, was mean spirited. He maybe got all excited about being with the kewl kids, but I just don’t recall him being nasty and vicious. I’m sorry he died so young. Why wasn’t it? (Okay, I’m sorry. Don’t ban me.)
They all loved Russert as a person…very much…and they all work for GE…per Andrea Greenspan, Russert was a “good corporate citizen”…
I believe they are all sincere about their feelings about him. I believe he was a really sweet guy.
The GE part…not so much.
404 Image Not Found
LOL good one.
True, true, true!!!!
…and rwcole
I know you probably don’t give a fuck…
But a little respect for his family, please?
Thanks
i can put them in a huge carrier, about 3/12 ft sq
3 1/2 ft sq
all team players…Merika …she can wait
I could fit that in my pocket
Interesting…I tried to upload a picture of Tim Russert for my blog post tonight, but it wouldn’t allow me. The picture disappeared. Very strange. You don’t suppose MSNBC is protecting Russert? Not sure, but some of these photos have been used on blogs, so it’s weird today that the images cannot be found to be uploaded or viewed.
McDummy…Fred Sanford
Remember our discussion about the weapons used in Mosul the other night…????
Well, check this out:

We can’t put up with this anymore.
wagons circled
ive none this from the very begining, and just CANT stand thinking about it…yet they will wail, and scream about one enabler of this
This comment is in response to SouthernDragon’s remark at #125. ;-)
Here’s the post with the picture on it. If it doesn’t come up, then, well…I have no idea what to do. ;-)
Doh.
http://tvdecoder.blogs.nytimes…..ianapolis/
They did that to Cindy McConfused’s Star Trek hair too. ;>
But back to food/corn: (my post disappeared — I hope it wasn’t offensive) — we get the Chinese to grow corn for us and then we use our engineering genius to come up with a tool to scrape the lead off the kernals. All good, dontcha think. Oh, yeah, and we get Wal-Mart to import the corn for us so we can all be well fed on the cheap. Down the slippery slope, folks.
BRUSSELS — It is a grim gauge of U.S. wars going in opposite directions: American and allied combat deaths in Afghanistan in May passed the monthly toll in Iraq for the first time.
U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates used the statistical comparison to dramatize his point to NATO defense ministers that they need to do more to get Afghanistan moving in a better direction. He wants more allied combat troops, more trainers and more public commitment.
More positively, the May death totals point to security improvements in Iraq that few thought likely a year ago.
But the deterioration in Afghanistan suggests a troubling additional possibility: a widening of the war to Pakistan, where the Taliban and al-Qaeda have found haven.
By the Pentagon’s count, 15 U.S. and two allied troops were killed in action in Iraq last month, a total of 17. In Afghanistan, it was 19, including 14 Americans and five coalition troops.
AP
its really nauseating, ive seen the deformed babies, and the one in Afghanistan,i cant take it
Do not take them anywhere near your other animals. Not even in the same building. Using feline leukemia as an example, it can be transmitted by shared dishes, exposure to urine or feces, you touching them, their dishes, their carrier, etc and not washing thoroughly before handling anything in your home. Nasty stuff. One strain can live in the environment for an hour, the other strain can live in the environment for up to five years.
ONES in Afghanistan…DAMN fingers
oh jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze ok
It’s okay, we’ll just mutate. No problem.
Written by Dahr Jamail.. thanks for that link, LS.
Okay, I’m going to bed. Have a great night everyone! ;-)
As long as the neocons don’t mutate, I’m fine with mutating. LOL Nite nite. ;-)
How long does gooper disease stay in the environment?
5 years?????????? OMG
Does anyone know of a site that shows actual death and destruction of American citizens due to this ‘war’ — soldiers who died after leaving the field, suicides, mercenaries, etc.? I don’t think we have ANY idea how many people have or will die as a result of this catastrophe. And for the Iraqis…..I can only say how sorry I am for your grief. You dealt with Saddam and then you got GeorgieBoy as a chaser. My condolences.
OMG..Tweety just said live that he talked to Russert about the pre-war info, and that he challenged Russert about the intel, and Russert was afraid of the nuclear threat, and that because Russert was a “patriot” “everyman” he went along with it.
Dang, did he just throw Russert under the bus that already ran over Russert?
Sh*t, now he’s throwing Brokaw under the bus too. Same sh*t. A big flattering thing, and then he goes in for the kill…
Tweety wants the job. OMFG.
Unbelievable.
Here
http://www.iraqcasualties.com
Afghanistan
No doubt that Tweety wants the job- but this doesn’t sound like a well thought out campaign to get it.
That was my reaction when my vet told me about it.
well strictly MY opinion…when the report came out of the Senate last week about the war…ALL THE MSM should have apologized over and over and overlike Jimmy Swaggert
damn now im scared have a stray living in the garage
Yeah, it was a little strangely harsh.
Yeah!
they didnt get along methinks
Yeah, to that too.
I guess I should just post a unilateral comment..Yeah.
they are so effing CLUELESS
He did. I’ll have it up in a very few minutes.
If Tweety wants the job, he’s going to have to fight extra hard now.
twerp
Thanks, DrBong and LS. I’ll study the site. There is so much information that needs to be shared. I happen to live in an area where there are VietNam vets (and I know they aren’t all true) standing outside of shopping centers begging for food or work. I am ashamed as an American that we so poorly tend to our soldiers … and I expect years more of this as Iraq/Afgan vets deal….or try to deal.
Tweety can barely keep from spitting all over the interviewees. And drooling.
He has no, I repeat, no cool.
The Pentagon refuses to release any figures on troops who die after leaving Irak or Afghanistan. Once a wounded or injured (there’s a difference) troop is put on a plane for Medevac that troop is no longer considered to be in-country so if s/he dies on the plane, in Germany or later here those deaths are not reported as casualties at sites like icasualties.org.
It was that kind of flattery followed up by a back-handed insult..weird..but not surprising…they will be fighting for MTP…within hours. Tweety’s is the most brash so far.
I hope you caught that. I’m amazed…good to have it where we can listen.
I have never seen anything like it. Ever.
Very uncool.
When you handle any animal other than your own be sure to thoroughly scrub like you see surgeons do. Hot water and soap to the elbows. If you get a chance scoop him/her up and take to the vet to be tested.
What will mid-level federal agency employees do? The upper echelon of agency officers will have checked out early or, having resigned themselves to the fate of political appointees at transition time, have the next phase of their lives planned. The mid-level employees who are committed to career service will have to brief the next administration’s incoming agency leadership on what has been going on while trying not to incriminate themselves in any nonfeasance, misfeasance, or malfeasance. An anxious time will be had by many.
I know. But is there some Veterans group or some parents group or someone who is actually taking a real count. We know we can’t trust BushCo…..but there needs to be truth to power. It sickens me to think that a soldier who dies en route to Germany is not counted and revered. Recently that so-badly-burned vet died after over 100 operations. Is he counted amongst the 4000+? If not, why not. He surely died in service to his country. In service to you and me…. even if we didn’t want this ‘war’ — and I still get sick of the word ‘war’ when it was never declared/never dignified. It’s an invasion/occupation. Let’s call it what it is.
I did. I was floored the first time I heard it this afternoon. Had the digitizer running and caught it this time.
BTW…there is such a big operation going on in Afghanistan as we speak that Brian Williams was repeatedly …every few seconds…… interrupted by jets taking off from Bagram earlier…
A huge prison breakout occurred today in Kandahar…1100 prisoners escaped…big frikkin’ deal….they got blasted out by a bomb at the gates and the prisoners escaped….400 “Taliban”…
But…no coverage on MSM of that….
omg
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25128291/
There’s no organized effort that I know of. The administration wants to keep the actual numbers down so it doesn’t look so bad.
i have an appt monday all to be neuteredand tested, and shots
Gee, ya think?
Yer gettin neutered?
again…”g”
ouch!
Try the six-pack method
;~P
More reason to eat locally grown stuff. A change of dietary habits is all that’s necessary. More cooking at home, less processed food.
Don’t let the feline disease stuff scare you. Take reasonable precautions. It’s not like these diseases are rampant among the stray population but it pays big dividends to be careful.
“Lawmakers said they were frustrated that the agency had yet to identify the source of the contamination and stressed that they were alarmed about yet another outbreak. Citing previous safety issues with spinach, seafood and cantaloupes, they made clear that some blame for the pattern lies with the FDA.
“You’ve had time,” said Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn. “We’re still waiting.”
That makes me suspicious. If Blackburn is pointing fingers….that gives me pause. Trouble.
IAVA would likely be the place to start with something like that. Don’t know of any other Iraq/Afghanistan veterans groups that are as strong on Veteran’s advocacy.
Those new airport body scanners can detect all kinds of things, I hear. And TSA keeps lists.
They’re too young to be spayed/neutered. Some vets, particularly local animal control agencies, will do it at 8 weeks but it’s frowned upon by more. Most vets like to wait until they’re 6 months.
But isn’t that amazing? Surely there is some veterans’ organization that can get at information. I am horrified that the guvt can get away with this. Every time I hear of another suicide or self-inflicted wound I get crazy. I would keep the records myself if I knew how. I will help any group that takes this on. When that wonderfully life-aggressive young man who was so badly burned died, I felt that he would be forgotten…..and maybe get some postumous medal some day in the future. It simply infuriated me that we are so cavalier. But, as usual, I feel so powerless to do anything about this affront to our civilized nation. We are all pigs because we allow pigs to lead us.
Also too young for shots, I think.
Can it detect breast cancer or lung problems? That would be helpful!
Both VA and civilian hospitals will not release death figures. The families would be the main source of information.
what should i do they cant stay there
Both VA and civilian hospitals will not release death figures.Neither VA nor civilian hospitals will release death figures.
Boy, talk about poor sentence structure. Gettin’ tired.
Anything coming out of Bushcowelostallemailsandallrecordsofwhateverhappenedforthepast8yearsincludinghowmany troopsorcivilianshavebeenkilled….
Is a crock of shizzola.
Why not?
I’ll have a shot on them.
Tweety on MSNBC, from earlier today.
If Chris Matthews wants the Meet The Press job, he’s going to have to become somehow human.
Here, he throws his friend and boss, Tim Russert into history’s dustbin.
bad road
bad little doggie
I think it’s gonna be David Gregory. Not my first choice by a long shot, but I think that’s who it’s gonna be.
Hopefully it will *not* be Brian Williams.
Thanks for catching that.
Ok, I’m never going to be able to get the image of Obama as Highlander out of my mind now.
I agree. They will throw out some names (including some female possibilities) for a couple of weeks while Brokaw holds down the fort.
You say that like it’s a bad thing.
Besides, “There Can Be Only One!” is a great tagline for an election.
ditto
I hear Dan Rather is available…
The sharks are out in the water…within hours…ain’t it somethin’ to behold…
Gawd.
Geez.
Where will you put them?
want to get them adopted out while they still teh adorable
take em to church and try to get em adopted out
Or even just earmites, which they likely have.
Easy peezy. First declare them enemy society combatants.
I’m talking about over the weekend. Once you get them to the vet then you can worry about getting them adopted out.
oy….
That’s a given. They get them from the queen.
You can’t take them to church on Sunday to try to get them adopted. We just had this discussion about diseases.
i have a big carrier 3′by 4′ ill put them in the garage, just for 2 days
not this Sunday, after they ar fixed and cleaned up
Eli
Thanks for a really good post.
i have soooooooooooooooooooooooo got my hands full oy
yes Eli rokkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkks
Man, you caught it exactly…me, me, me, me…I was right Russert was wrong, but I admired him….Brokaw was wrong…me, me, me, me…
Wow. Way to go newtonusr! Hat’s off.
Thanks, Twain! Thanks, sadly!
late nite unclaimed zed upstairs
Please stay here, I’ve never watched self-flagellation ;-)
yea,but that s the way they are…its about power and position NOT the truth
Yup…but so “soon”…??? Gawd.
Now we’re cookin’ with gas. You’re going to have to spend some time with them. You want to be able to tell the vet all you can about their eating, pooping and peeing habits. I’d use a disposable aluminum baking pan as a litter box. Clean it twice a day and make an attempt to watch them pee and poop. And don’t forget to wash yer hands.
Julia upstairs!
Late Night FDL: In the Wake of the Storm
you are ABSOLUTELY the best, thanks for your expert help, and listening ear
Yeppur. You’ve taken on quite a task. You’ll do fine. Once the vet gives them a clean bill of health you’re home free.
it shows me exactly WHO THEY ARE,and that is why OUR country is so effed up…because they never gave a rats ass about all the loies,IT WAS always the MONEY and position
You are frighteningly knowledgeable!
just at a quick glance on intertubes only 2 to 3% have the virus
newtonusr, thanks for watching (and catching) that.
Tweety is a vulture.
((( Eli )))
Sorry if I missed you, I was having a drink(or 7) in memoriam of PapaSpook …
Right place (watching MSNBC?) – right time.
I’ve had at least one tiger in my home for the last 35+ years. Learned a lot in that time. I’m one of those nuts who listens to what the vet tells me. Just wish I could remember my phone number when someone asks me.
Yep. So you’ve got a 97% chance they’re fine. Just don’t tempt fate.
Papaspook passed away? I’m very sorry for Al and NDFG.
Well, but Einstein didn’t remember his phone number either.
i have a propensity to OVERREACT
Shocked the h*ll out of me, and I’m not shocked easily …
Funny that Blankleyes didn’t note that it may not be only thinking that “other countries” may not find this behavior acceptable in the near future. It’s much more likely to be our own citizenry as resources dry up and become unavailable to the rest of us. There would very likely be fuel rationing both for homes and vehicles if things prevent working people from being able to provide essential services, food shipments, and just getting to work. Ol’ Blankeyes wouldn’t be allowed to cruise his Hummer accross the dunes of his Cape Cod hideaway so much anymore. He wouldn’t be allowed to squander heating fuel for his home so that the elderly and no0t so wealthy could afford to heat their homes at 68 degrees in Winter.
And conspicuous gorging on French Haut Cuisine and subsequent visits to the vomitorium would be viewed by those who are less “worthy” as resembling the excesses of the Roman Empires decadent ruling classes.
Ol’ Blankeyes must have missed the methods that Presidents and other leaders of Democracies used when dealing with scarce commodities during times of crisis and war in the past. Ration cards, coupons, and funneling of goods and products to essential sectors of the community were used by “dictators” like Churchill and Roosevelt to preserve their nations during times of scarcity.
*g* you’ll do fine.
Long day tomorrow and want to get a peek at PUAC in the morning so off into the arms of Morpheus.
Be good to yourselves, and all other living things.
Namaste
Hey Kirk!
I know – what a putz.
newt or anyone- is there a youtube of this Hardball? Or Matthews on Olbermann?
I’ve been looking w/o success- part of the transcript- from
http://mediamatters.org/items/200604270005
Mission Accomplished: A look back at the media’s fawning coverage of Bush’s premature declaration of victory in Iraq
~~MATTHEWS: What’s the importance of the president’s amazing display of leadership tonight?
[…]
MATTHEWS: What do you make of the actual visual that people will see on TV and probably, as you know, as well as I, will remember a lot longer than words spoken tonight? And that’s the president looking very much like a jet, you know, a high-flying jet star. A guy who is a jet pilot. Has been in the past when he was younger, obviously. What does that image mean to the American people, a guy who can actually get into a supersonic plane and actually fly in an unpressurized cabin like an actual jet pilot?~~
Also:
~~Later that day, on MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann, Matthews said:
MATTHEWS: We’re proud of our president. Americans love having a guy as president, a guy who has a little swagger, who’s physical, who’s not a complicated guy like [former President Bill] Clinton or even like [former Democratic presidential candidates Michael] Dukakis or [Walter] Mondale, all those guys, [George] McGovern. They want a guy who’s president. Women like a guy who’s president. Check it out. The women like this war. I think we like having a hero as our president. ~~
Hey VG!
No, I don’t have that, but Ill bet MediaMatters kept it in their archives.
Sorry to have missed ya Eli. We went OUT. As in LIFE. Like that place with no screens.
wow
I hadn’t seen it for a while.
I’m catching up now.
:D
Hey newtonusr!
oops – just saw your reply…..but yep.
Even for MSM TeeVee ambitious opportunists, Tweety has earned his own (short, flaccid) wing of putz.
Dearie: In response to your post #153, keep some KLEENEX nearby, I suggest BILL MOYER’s JOURNAL’s website, at pbs.org he has some POETRY by Veterans, which are heartrending & powerful voices, about War. They were compiled into a BOOK by a woman, I forget the rest of details. I could only make it through TWO of the Poems, every damn ”Recliner” armchair chickenhawk general, who LUSTED for invading IRAQ OR VIETNAM, should be strung up, tarred & feathered! That sure includes DUBYA, becuz during VIETNAM, the little yellow coward was a CHICKENHAWK, who was all ”GUNG HO” about the War while he was safely in COLLEGE, & while his Daddy had him ”parked” safely in the TEXAS ”Champagne” Air National Guard, where he played at being a Jet Fighter Pilot & MAY have snorted Cocaine (he doesn’t remember if he did or not!) & drank himself s**tfaced partying.
God, I’ll be soooo glad when these Nutcases are out of the WHITE HOUSE; but Barack OBAMA will have to figure out what the HELL to do about the HUGE Private Mercenary ARMY the BUSH Regime has spawned: BLACKWATER, etc.
HALLIBURTON has a CONTRACT on every single U.S. foreign & domestic Military Base, I read somewhere, can you believe it? How the hell does OBAMA deal with THAT fact?
