President Bush has admitted to The Times that his gun-slinging rhetoric made the world believe that he was a “guy really anxious for war” in Iraq.
Gee, what could have given us that belief?
Minutes before President Bush’s solemn announcement that the US military were in action against Iraq he vigorously pumped his fist and declared: "I feel good".
And furthermore:
[Bush] said that his aim now was to leave his successor a legacy of international diplomacy for tackling Iran.
Which is why we are hearing stories like this:
Prime Minister Ehud Olmert hinted after his meeting with U.S. President George W. Bush Wednesday that U.S. action against Iran is imminent. While he avoided saying anything clear and specific on the matter, Olmert did mention a “timetable” and said action would take place before Bush leaves the White House.
Seven months and 10 days left.

and I’ve been saying I don’t believe there will be elections
hang on to hats
attaturk, I believe we need to get your post with all referances sited sent off to pelosi
I believe she has cleared the table and while impeachment might have been off said table, that table is now vacant and ready to be occupied
I saw her stand there with deferance while kucinich introduced articles of impeachment, she even prodded him after he said “I’m gonna go for it” with “please do”
she is ready, we need to show her the time is long past but not yet too late
your piece needs to be seen by pelosi
and conyers, conyers is alreay on board and he has pressured pelosi…it is time, this will be the defining moment for the of our republic and the world
will we survive?
the ball is on pelosi’s racquet, she drops the ball or she sets it in play
every single report we read tells us the republicans don’t expect to win, even delay said it, they are all going to lose their seat in power and we can actually get them on board because of that
we need to march into their office and deal;
“we will allow you to run uncontested, we will give you pork for your state, we will vote for laws you think you need
IF YOU ARE ON BOARD TO REMOVE THE DESPOT FROM OFFICE
I never thought I would say this but I would even put telecom immunity on the bargaining floor if we would be guaranteed a summary impeachment
if we get enough votes we won’t even need a trial, we will get the republicans to do what they did to nixon, they will march in and say;
“you are out of there, if you do not resign we won’t even give you the dignity of self defense, we will simply say there are national security issues and you will be summarily impeached without trial
we will then file charges against you as a citizen for war crimes and for treason and we will allow for your war crimes to be prosecuted in the international court
you are out of there, you have 4 hours to right your resignation and speak to the press”
this is it, we cannot wait, attaturk’s piece with referances must be sent to pelosi, the democrats must deal with the republicans and this country must survive
and oh
where the hell is everyone?
oh, one thing I should have said, when this piece is pelosi it needs to be sent with the links to the president’s executive order giving himself the “authority” to suspend the constitution, declare martial law and continue in office until said “emergency” was over
in that capacity he could even appoint his successor
those exectutive orders need to be sent along with attaturk’s piece
Thanks, Attaturk … Morning… Perris!
Makes me think of Cindy Sheehan’s anecdote about meeting Bush and he calls her “Mom” with good cheer as he quickly moves away, and she tries to tell him about her son…. was it just his name… and she is made to feel inappropriate and presumptuous. Bad Cindy… SOOO spontaneous!!! How threatening must that have been for him. I wonder if he could have looked her in the eye and been there for her for a sec. But then he wouldn’t be his tragic and pathetic self and crazymaking and non-human self.
So… all those lives must not be lost in vain… lost for the sake of colossal HUBRIS and enmeshment with power-mad neocons. And how do you ensure that they not have died in vain, by ensuring that thousands more will die in the next war that seems to be more than a twinkle in your eye, Mr. Bush?
But Bush copping to a bit of aggressive rhetoric and expressing wistfulness about fallen soldiers … I guess this is as good and humble as he gets, as he works on his legacy …
Puppet and puppet-master… I don’t believe they will be lame ducks. They are vultures that leave everyone else lame before they are done.
For Perris:
Letter from Congressman Wexler:
Dear _____,
Our effort to hold the Bush/Cheney Administration accountable has taken another dramatic step forward. Last night, Congressman Dennis Kucinich introduced the first Articles of Impeachment ever to be introduced against President Bush. It includes, in total, thirty-five Articles detailing this Administration’s blatant abuse of power. Today, I enthusiastically co-sponsored this vitally important bill.
I am grateful for Dennis’ leadership on this issue and for the steadfast support that countless Americans have given to both of our efforts to redeem our government and expose the crimes of Bush and Cheney.
I will now expand my efforts to secure impeachment hearings in the Judiciary Committee for these new Articles of Impeachment against President George W. Bush.
Many of the charges against President Bush are well known – and would shock the conscience of everyday Americans if only the national media would be willing to report on these stark facts.
The Articles present a stunning narrative of offenses that have go well beyond previous crimes committed by any US chief executive. In fact no President or Vice President in history has done more to undermine our constitution.
These charges are broad, with 35 separate allegations including the deliberate lies regarding WMDs that led us to war and the approval of illegal wiretapping of American citizens. The Articles also include new allegations of high crimes – including the explicit approval for high Administration officials to violate treaties and US law banning the use of torture.
The Democratic Party gained a majority in the House and Senate due in large part to our promises to end the corruption of the Republican majority and to hold the Administration accountable to the law. This courageous bill is a crucial step towards fulfilling this promise, but – like the Articles against Cheney – they require your support to convince Democrats and open-minded Republicans to support this bold but necessary action.
Time is running out so we must work together to spread the message and apply pressure.
First, please encourage your friends and family members to sign up at WexlerWantsHearings.com – as it will allow us to keep in touch with you and speak to a wider audience. If you haven’t yet put in your phone and address, please sign up again, as we will be doing telephone town halls in the near future.
Second, call your representative and urge them to support Impeachment hearings.
Finally, contact newspapers, news stations, and your favorite bloggers and urge them to report on this movement. We need to keep Impeachment a significant news story until the Democratic leadership sees the value in it.
McClellan Agrees to Testify:
I was pleased to inform you yesterday that Judiciary Committee Chairman Conyers met my call to have Former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan testify under oath. I am thrilled to inform you that McClellan has agreed to testify on June 20th at 10AM. This will be the first step in what we hope will be ongoing and deepening examinations of the stark evidence and charges against both President Bush and Vice President Cheney.
Thank you for your continued passion and advocacy. Your support means so much to me.
Sincerely,
Congressman Robert Wexler
here, here! Wide awake in the wee hours. just took out the trash and recycling and stttling in to catch up on things. I think this should be added to the list of references for Pelosi:http://www.niemanwatchdog.org/…..isid=00338
What is the status of Kucinich’s resolution? I already wrote to my rep, but am ready to write to whatever committee (HJC?) and to Pelosi (again!) about it.
Oh. And I don’t think we should put so much “on the table” to bargain…they are the ones with very much to lose. On the other hand, I also worry about them getting desperate and supporting war in Iran, but surely by now even the wingnuts can see that it is a bad, tragic idea.
I think we need to do whatever it takes to get the man out of office
don’t forget, we already have a majority, if we bargain and give what it takes that will also set the stage for future compromise from both sides, instead of working against each other we might start to work with each other
there are two parties in this country and there always will be, there needs to be an adversarial role in our government, no one party can control all three branches
without corrupting themselves.
I say we give whatever it takes to get this man out of office and his entire administration rebuked for the future
that is a great link pelosi surely needs to read that, conyers too
that’s an excellant letter, mine while not yet comosed will be similar but from a differant angle if attack;
“dear congressman;
I was stunned while listening to the articles of impeachment offered by Kucinich and allowed readd into the record and allowed by the speaker of the house!
Are these charges supportable by evidence?
If so, isn’t it mandatory a trial of impeachment go forward?
I would think those that allowed crimes of this nature go unchallenged might be considered complicit to those very crimes and equal of guilt.
No?”
sincerely
BTW,
If you want some comedy this morning, enjoy this before McCain’s website administrator wakes up.
http://store.johnmccain.com/Re…..038;Page=1
If someone can save the images on the link I suggest they give it a try.
oh, more fuel for the fire from think progress right now;
Good morning, pups. MoDo has found a new scratching post to sharpen her little claws on, replete with a link to a hate site. She typed a thing called “Mincing Up Michelle,” and says it’s good news for Barack Obama that Hillary Clinton is out of the race. But it’s also bad news. Now Republicans can turn their attention to demonizing Michelle Obama. Concern troll, much? Mr. Friedman’s column is titled “Obama on the Nile,” and he says it would not be an exaggeration to say that the Democrats’ nomination of Barack Obama as their candidate for president has improved America’s image abroad.

The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready, and the biscuits are out of the oven. The forecast says our weather will be cooling off — only in the low 90s today, with a chance of thunderstorms. My fingers will be crossed all day, which will make it VERY difficult to work… Have a great day.
too late, no records found, I hope you saved the webpage
too late attaturk, no web page found, I hope you saved the webpage
I say we give whatever it takes to get this man out of office and his entire administration rebuked for the future
perris,
It is not possible to have a rational, reasonable discussion with irrational, unreasonable people. republics have, for years bullied and badgered and made life miserable. They continue to hold the Senate hostage. Bargain? With them? I say it is time to stand up and stick a finger in their eye. The only thing they understand. It is time to push back. Hard.
Just my opinion.
they have a lust for power and they know they are about to lose their seat to it
they will do what it takes to keep that seat of power, they have nothing else
we can deal and we can give them what it takes to broker the deal, of this I am certain
I’m still bringing it up. Might have to do with my cache.
Go here for some examples:
http://www.balloon-juice.com/?p=10594
we cannot become what they are, “us against them”
in chess you sacrifice the queen if it means mate, I have sacrificed too rooks and a queen to bring smothered mate with a knight
we must sacrifice, the end game is here and if we do not broker a deal there is a real chance we are left with a dicator and no elections to follow
we have to prevent the attack on Iran at all costs
that link worked
if you still have the page up then do me a favor and save it for offline or “email the page as a webpage” to yourself
Attaturk, et al. — you might want to try this link to the McCain golf store stuff. Hopefully this one will work.
attaturk your post today is excellant as usual but today it is ominous as well, if this president attacks Iran he WILL suspend the constitution and while I truly believe he is weary of office, he will then have the authority to “appoint his successor”
that successor won’t be mccain either, probably petreaus but I do not think it will be mccain
we need to get this information to those that still have the ability to stop the attack
pelosi MUST realize if she waits for the attack it will be too late to impeach, the president would suspend the constitution and no impeachment will be possible
that point must be made to the speaker, I am not sure she realizes it
that link worked for me, I ahve to say, the remarks are really good;
going to teh coffee shop, see all later
Morning Maid Marion. Food for thought to accompany the coffee, which also goes far to declawing the cat.
It’s Kathy G. of The G Spot in subject of the hillarization of Michelle, here is a response to Christopher Hitchens’s spectacularly failing effort to do the same(h/t Daily Kos)
Kathy quotes the classic article on the cult of woman in the 19th century by Barbara Welter (Kathy’s long ago teacher and also mine):
and then asks about Michelle:

Need those biscuits this morning. It is twenty degrees cooler tis morning than yesterday at the same time.
War monger.. maybe
War criminal… definitely
War profiteer… indupidably
Murderer… without doubt
Traitor…. no question
Maybe some of the Dem “leadersh ip” can go there and buy some balls
223 days.
707!
Oh fuck.
Did McSame just call Matt Lauer “Doug”?
Oh what a beautiful night! There I was dialing my friend Annie (who is up from Alabama) @ 9:40pm last night to tell her to put C-SPAN on so we can watch history together! We spend at least another hour talking about how much we despise George Bush, Dick Cheney, and the republic party. Best night I’ve had in a long time. Thank you Dennis Kucinich for your patriotism, your patriotism, your patriotism, and oh yeah….YOUR PATRIOTISM!
Joe Scarborough still doesn’t want to talk about why he had a dead intern in his office or impeachment, so the big news story is the NBA and the CONSPIRACY behind it. “Have Americans been duped?” is the dark cloud hanging over MSNBC this morning! They’re on this story with all their might!
Spit.
Hot seller
African-Americans for McCain
NOT
I am also wondering how many of the fine items in the McCain store are Made in the USA.
No thunder boomers?
I searched high and low in the McCain store, but couldnt find pricing for government contracts,
Oh yes, lots of thunder boomers too (in house & outside)! LOL Woke us this morning to my plants outside schmooshed (sp?) flat from the rain. ;-)
Heh. Since Traitor Joe Lieberman did such a good job of checking McC*nt’s “bearings,” they should advertise that Holy Joe will also personally inspect each of McSame’s balls as well.
Contact Nancy Pelosi to tell her to wipe off the steak dinner and put impeachment on the table to eat…

The reviews are a scream. I wonder how long it will take their site to read any of them… and then how long they’ll last.
well there goes my breakfast.
morning Attaturk and everybody!
Or why he’s on video telling Sen. Obama he had no chance running against Sen. Clinton, in fact it would be “ugly”.
LOL Exactly. Seems Ole Joe has lost his political mo-jo. Bah hahahahaha! He couldn’t predict the weather at this point if he was outside in a rainstorm!
It would be interesting if Ole Joe could find those shriveled up lemon drops. ;-)
I was on the tennis courts yesterday with a black man and we were discussing politics
he is pissed off we are running a black man and thinks there is no way on the planet America will elect on
I once felt the same way but I see how many new voters barak is gathering and I am certain that number will far outweigh the number of bigots
but this is new york and where we never vote for a republican and he pointed out to me another tennis player, one who was a democrat and he said “Robert over there is voting for McCain”
now the man uses McCain’s “maverick” image as an excuse but for him to even consider a republican can only be prejudice
and the real attacks haven’t even begun
hehe…speaking of shriveled…
Was wondering if Sux News demoted their anchor E.D. Hill because her name was making Panama John unconfortable.
Washington Journal this morning:
7:20am - Rep. Tim Walberg (R-MI) -energy
7:50am – William Gerstenmaier, NASA-Space Operations, Assoc. Administrator | H.R. 6063 [PDF]
8:30am – Rep. Jim McDermott (D-WA), Ways & Means Subcmte., Chairman | H.R. 5749 [PDF]
9am – Kirk Johnson, The List Project, Exec. Dir.
I am thinking it would be a great idea for someone (media matters?) to order a few items and check up on that
I just called Nancy Pelosi’s office (got sent to her comment line *sigh*) and asked her, “Are you going to continue to betray the American people by not impeaching George Bush & Dick Cheney or are you going to do the right thing that 65% of Americans want?”.
Last I read, she had been taken off her segment and would be put in another capacity. Let me guess….she’s the new Bill O’Reilly co-anchor! Spit.
It’s always fascinating to me that those who work for Fox News don’t realize they are the appeasers of the terrorists in the White House. Amazing how they don’t see it, but yet, call everyone else the terrorists!
I enjoy that show much more without him.
I’m continually amazed at how far ‘good hair’ can get you in TV.
Don’t have to have any substance underneath it, though.
Howard Dean up next on JoeScar…
there are still those who are hoping for a McCain Lieberman ticket but
Lieberman’s Abortion Stance May Preclude Spot on McCain Ticket
and in the immortal words of twolf:
:0===|
I’m in the office and can’t do it but could you call her back and ask;
“do you know if the president attacks Iran it will be too late to impeach, he has issued presidential orders which have not been rebuked that give him to authority to delcare martial law for any emergency he deems fit and suspend the constitution and congress, you cannot wait, the more exposed they are the more brazen they become, please save our country”
of course in your own words but she has to be made aware that waiting for the attack would make it impossible to impeach
hard to imagine that McSame doesn’t pick Willard Romney for his Veep.
they realize it Kay who now resides in Maine, they know it, they are a party to it, they are appeasers, they are accomplices they are benefactors
they realize it
I’m on it. I’ll call her right now. I’ll say, “If George Bush attacks Iran, did you know you will be blamed for it since you decided the 35 Articles of Impeachment was nothing but a big fat joke and you decided THIS WEEK the will of the people is laughable and should be taken lightly?”.
also say that he will suspend the constitution and she will no longer even have the power to impeach
well that’s interesting, I’ve been thinking he’s looking for a woman.
Will we have to wait until the conventionz to find out running mates?
LOL I knew it! I called her office again, got her comment line through one of her interns, asked this question and then rambled on using “it’s bullshit!” at one point.
Ooopsie.
We all should be calling today. When you call, pretend you’re speaking to a family member or friend who agrees with you about the Bush Regime. It just helps in getting your message to Nancy a lot clearer. ;-)
(202)225-0100
the chrstian factor might counter ballance the bigot factor…that might be good for us, though I personally think mccain will take a cue from barak and look for someone with a military record
My thought as well. Sux Newz and Lush Limpdick all came out hard for The Tax Whisperer Romnutz, which means word went out to promote him. Too bad for BigMoney that they’re losing their influence even among their base, and McC*nt got the nom.
Been thinking Mittmo is gonna play a role in all this still. Since the beginning of this race, he’s the one I’ve been most concerned about. Always felt McSame would be easy to beat, but Mittens has a lot more going for him with the low-info voters and BigMedia promotion.
I did mention Martial Law and how she will be blamed for obstructing justice and for not protecting the American people from the bastards in the White House.
She hasn’t called back yet. LOL
hehe…passion gets the best of us all
well that’s interesting, I’ve been thinking he’s looking for a woman.
Will we have to wait until the conventionz to find out running mates?
well, if he can find a very *rich* woman (he needs money). He also needs Michigan.
And I think both sides will name their Veeps well before the conventions, in order to have two bodies, rather than just the candidate, to get out *now* and campaign in as many states as possible.
YMMV obviously.
I want to point out again for everyone that think progress has this up now and it is a “save and keeper
condi seems to fit all your protocol
You want to get through to Pelosi?
Help this person get elected…
http://www.cindyforcongress.org/
Either that, or have a good investment opportunity for her husband, or Dianne Feinstein’s hubby. You’ll get a call back then…
OK, I got it. If you want me to send it to you, tell me where.
I hope you aren’t holding your breath Kay!
I got it from the other links posted, thanx for the thought bilbo
John & Cindy McCain for Pres/VP!
Sent.
that’s a good one!
Rep Heather Wilson (R-NV)is xx, military, and Republican; but there is that messy bit with the US Attorneys, tho.
HA-ha! (ala Nelson)
Scarecrow’s up
Nope! Not holding my breath! I will not sacrifice my oxygen for her! LOL
Joe Scar was just on singing the praises of ‘free trade’, but wondering why the US doesn’t impose a 40 mpg standard on cars within the next five years.
Which exposes him and his ilk for the weasels they are.
‘Free Trade’ is what has gas at $4/gal and rising.
‘Free Trade’ is the primary cause of the housing market meltdown.
‘Free Trade’ is why the Federal Reserve had to meet on a Sunday night to bail out Bear Stearns and its 30 to 1 leverage to avoid a global market meltdown.
‘Free Trade’ is what caused the Enron-generated California energy crisis.
‘Free Trade’ is just Republican-speak for ‘pay off legislators so they’ll look the other way while we steal the country blind, until we a crisis happens or we get caught, whichever comes first’.
Oh I get it…MSNBC is reporting about Barack choosing Jim Johnson (Fannie Mae/Countrywide) to help him pick a VP, but not one word about former Enron Senator Phil Gramm being Johnny McTeleprompter’s economic advisor, you know, the ‘economic advising’ he’s giving Johnny to take the side of the banks, protect them with all your heart, screw the people who took these loans, and NEVER, EVER, EVER REGULATE THE BANKS….regulate the people instead.
Spit.
there is no such thing as free trade, the very concept of money is government intervention, the very concept of ownership and property is government intervention.
there is no such thing as free trade, what they CALL free trade is their ability to plunder, to use assets that are not theirs and never have to pay for those assets
that to them is “free trade”, they get to trade goods that are not theirs and they get to do it for free….thus, “free trade”
What does he ‘really’ think:
He just told Merkel and everyone else “I have no regrets about the war”
Folks, you can’t get much more cold hearted and viscous than that – and that’s’ from the mouth of George W. Bush, not the other Dick.
