Good name for a grandson, I think. I’ll get to working on that.
‘Course, I already promised Rock Freebase of Alabama 3 that the first one would be named after him, on account of that’s a pretty cool name too.
Poor #1 Son has a little work cut out for him.
Yep.

Good Digging Neuro:>)
Hey when is the Digg widget gonna get fixed???
25 minutes, 25 comments, and nobody had Dugg this yet?

Aha, natant! You were right on my heels!
neuro, nahant and you have quite a system.. that was very cool :)
i think everyone was grooving to the tunes and forgot the digg. i know i did… thanks doods

Oh yeah great tune Suz:>)
what was the guy’s name – blind white guy – played his guitar flat on his lap?
aint no sticking music rules here on the dark side of the lake funnyd… hell, we’ve had everything from opera to hiphop in these threads :)

Look out, jayt!!
Musta been while I was making the gravy for my roasted chicken…! ;-)
Nope the widget has been broken for days… twas said a couple of days ago they were working onit… but if you ask me they had bigger fish to fry just trying to get the site stable:>( It is a pain as some here don’t like to be the first Digger and have to come up with a description of the thread…. OH well… just keep digging
GAHHH!
That came out wrong.
I meant, their artistic/videographic endeavors are worth supporting.
All the troops are worth supporting. Didn’t mean to imply they weren’t.
Duh, Diva.
FunnyD
Support the troops:
bring ‘em home, alive, now
care for their minds and bodies as long as it takes
pay for college, they earned it.
there you go again
Opera? I missed Opera???!!!
That reminds me…
I’ve got another for later.
FunnyD
the site loads a lot faster so that musta been what was hanging up some folks – i don’t think it was broken – i think that *digg* was the fix… think about how many digg links we carry on the main page …
aint no sticking music rules here on the dark side of the lake
Well, in that case:

But yes the site does load faster… I heard the migrated to to twk3’s fav Linux
I knew you knew.
Just wanted you to know that I knew, too!
FunnyD
why do I suddenly feel compelled to go find some Dr Seuss?
I’m a little surprised nobody here blogged about Obama confronting Holy Joe. I find that very encouraging, he’s not gonna put up with that asshole’s shit any more.
You go Obama1
oh – that widget… yeah, i miss knowing how many diggs each post got just scrolling down the front page and could easily tell if i had missed a digg
Stevie’s brother Jimmie’s got the blues about freedom, got the blues about tyranny. (Filmed on the steps of the Texas capitol.)
Should be displaying the number of diggs… so still not the same as it was…
Hiya, pups!
We’ve been off-line for almost 3 days. Apologies to Suzanne, Dr. Kirk, TSF, any others – including relatives in Alameda – for not following through on visitnig the lower Bay, Santa Cruz – whatever. After Sacramento, I wanted nothing to do with any town bigger than 75,000 until we get back up to Portland. Gawd, do I hate California urban motor traffic!!!! We’re in Arcata tonight.

hey et… no problem…. i completely understand – have been following your trip over at your place – gawd, your lake county descriptions reminds me of camping trips i took there with my family as a teen.
I’m just thankful the Lake is up…! Poor servers at the Treehouse were working overtime…! ;-)
loads faster so, * shrug *
And thanks Neuro and eCAHN from last thread.
And, yeah, Mozart piano concertos is right up my street. Probably not all of the mall at once, though.
Sigh.

he is the best. absolute best.
step-son of robert johnson…..saw him myself…a few times..me, a student of jazz and blues, have seen many, he blew me away. i was entranced.
i love him. noone like him. ever. he shines, find the you tube that shows how he shines if i didn’t pick the right one.
That’s one of the ones I took to Egypt for my friend’s kids. Nobody teaches English like Dr Seuss. Belatedly realized the ham thing could be an issue, but my friend said he’d just translate it as Green Eggs and Meat.

I once saw Tito Puente live. 1992, I think. Only thought of it because I think Santana covers his “oye como va” (or however it’s spelled).

ET, I missed you, but when I read your account of a day behind the Rancho COrdoba (?) curtain I was hooing yu and your family could see the beautiful parts of the state. Hope your duaghter was happy with the tournament -a dn hope to see you in the future.

gawd i miss edit sometimes (well, whenever I type…)
Heh, there is an edit function… Proofread it before ya submit it…! ;-)
my 77 i forgot to add that robert was the only one that robert johnson showed how he did waht he did. robert johnson would never show his fingering to anyone, he played with his back to them……this is firsthand blues gossip–robert used to hide how he played, the only person he ever showed was lockwood.
and rory block (whom i would like to throw a pie at) may claim to know robert johnson’s ways, but she’s a parasite. played schmooze and got to know johnson’s extended family, and claimed to have a connection there, but not.
robert lockwood is the only one who knew his guitar secrets, she only wishes she knew….
so, don’t pay any attention to her claims, or do pay attention, she’s based an entire career on it, listen to her guitar and listen to robert lockwood, i’m sure you’ll hear the difference….
true blues needs only and ear and a true heart to hear it.
seem them both, wanted to boo her off of the stage.
i’m just thankful that i’m not sitting here twiddlin my thumbs like last nite
Now that’s funny! I’d like to see the “adult” version, bet it’s a hoot.

Why didn’t ya pop in at the treehouse…? Btw, I think it’s T’s B’day, today…! ;-)

Oh, Suzanne! How cool. I especially love the ones with Karina and Kayla. You must be so happy after all tht hard work and worry.
Kirk,
Sometimes it felt we were caught in the Rancho Cordova triangle. When I get back to Alaska, the next time I hear somebody say that our problems up there are insoluble, all I’ll have to conjure up is the vision of one suburb after another, as if they’d been cloned, stringing their way up from Sacramento almost to Marysville, with hundreds of thousands of people sitting, stalled in their SUV’s, one per car, burning $5.00 per gallon fuel, waiting to move aother hundred feet in two minutes.
i was suffering my own set of pooter problems – mercury in retro and my system was hanging for a full 30 seconds before i could switch tabs
finally resolved it today – incompatability between my spybot search and destroy and the service patch 3 that i was able to install (they resolved the amd problem so it with without a hitch)
g’nite dmac
t’s bday was last week
Not this trip, unless something unforeseen happens. More into the wine and cheese and farmers’ (as in – veggies) market thing this time.
My favorite HWY 101 cleanup sign: “This section sponsored by the Mendocino Medical Marijuana Users’ Collective”

suzanne, have you told us yet what the wedding present was? I haven’t heard, just knew you spent a lot of time working on it
Good for you Suz… you might look into zone Alarm internet suite and does everything Spy Bot does and a lot less problems.

See, that’s why I asked T personally, he hasn’t replied yet…! ;-)

a hawaiian lap quilt in wedding colors of creme, green and terra cota (ok, its a variation since hawaiian quilts are usually limited to 2 colors)
didn’t quite get it finished but she loves it and i look forward to seeing them snuggled under it on the sofa one night in the near future. i modified the breadfruit pattern to a heart on each point, one for each of them, mike, jen, and the girls.
Another discovery – past that you can get a really good deal at the Heitz Cellars WH – is North Coast Breweries’ Scrimshaw Pilsner. I think it’s the best American made Pilsner I’ve ever had.
sounds really nice
jeff and lil feat
oh yeah – bookmarked that one.
well it’s 2:15 (the witching hour for procrastinators) – so it’s time to get horizontal
I’ll check out the rest of the music in the morning – nite all.
Gee, Suz. I read the title and thought we were in for more photos of your wedding pedi…
g’nite jayt
Any pics of it? Usually, they are, but, I’ve seen some intricate one’s that have numerous colors in each square…! ;-)
Ugh. I hope yu and your family have time to check out the redwoods on your way north. If you have an extra 2 hours, Fern Canyon/Gold Bluff Beach (just north of Orick, alas) is absolutley magic – the Fern Canyon hike brings you into the heart of the Redwoods. (take the “scenic” bypass on 101 North to Humboldt Redwoods State Park)
There was another road cleanup sponsorship just south of Eureka, by NORML. Anybody threatening to withhold Fed highway dollars for the signs being there like that? I hope not.
yep. I’m gratefull to be back at the Lake and grateful for awesome tech crew’s work!
Sweet dreams, jayt.
cue image of someplace like Beale Street (where Furry Sings the Blues): what’s a pub-crawl of dozen honky-tonks?
The 12 Bar Blues.
Aloha, Jay!
We hiked through the trails in the Avenue of the Giants and Rockefeller Forest trails late this morning and early afternoon. Ms. ET got some great pics, but my iPhone camera isn’t storing images today for some reason.
the co-op in arcata has great local produce/veggies (can’t recall where/when the Friday/Saturday farmers’ markets are around there, but they rock, too.)
Oh, I hope you got a photo.

nite,
gnome’s cape cod talk brought me back out, she is in the town where i spent my summers, lucky that i was someone who spent summers somewhere, i never once took it for granted, i spent other summers in appalachia working at work camps…my family never let us forget what what out there in the world…..so, thanks gnome for those reminders of that time. my soul was forged there on the cape. and my conscience.
the rest of what is goin here on is something that is so ugly i don’t want to be a part of. a lot of it so subtle, yet it gets cheered on. and noone sees it….but i do…..i do. can’t count the times i’ve noticed the hypocrisy of it….call me what you want, but i’ve never been a hypocrite.
y’all get to choose which way it will go.
and where it goes is gonna determine whether i will be a part of it.
nite to all who know what i mean…..
not until its done
g’nite jayt
and ET – I know I’m perseverating, but if your schedule allows Fern Canyon (or trails leading West/NW from the visitors’ center at Humboldt Redwoods) lead you off into redwood groves far away from 101 sounds – and far grander than the lovely places at AOG/Rockefeller Forest.
Humboldt Redwoods is one of the few places on the CA coast I can stand and feel the Earth is alive and present.
Wherever you go, though, I hope you a lovely trip!
Haven’t heard of any… but Mendocino has a referendum on the ballot to curtail the cultivation of more than six plants… don’t think it will pass
Wow! What a special present. Did you get a photo before you gave it?
Neeto. No wonder you were workin’ workin’ workin’ away. How far apart were your stitch lines?
FunnyD
Are you using a leaf pattern?
i sew by machine and it’s going to be stipple quilted.. like doodling with the sewing machine
it did pass… :(
i took a breadfruit pattern and modified the fruit into a heart
I have purchased some great line caught Salmon at the co-op enjoyed some of as sushi with lemon on it….but dam know Salmon season on the lower west coast..
Sounds cool…! ;-)
hey jacqrat
this is the pattern i started with
i’ve not quilted in about 6 years and most of my stuff is packed away so it has taken me longer than i thought it would
Shit gonna hit the fan up there….
yeap, santa cruz has a 10×10 rule.. as many plants as can be planted in a 10′x10′ plot
It’s a classic pattern…! Heh, a disclosure popped up saying not to use it for commercial purposes…! ;-)
We just missed the Thursday afternoon one. We’re touring the campus here tomorrow morning, where ET, Jr. is transferring to in the fall, then heading up to Crater Lake, where it is supposed to be snowing tonight. On to the Oregon wine country for a day, then up to my brother’s place in Portland, to turn in the RV. Amtrak to Seattle, then visiting my mom and sister and artist friends in Seattle, until ETette graduates on the 14th.
Whew!
cause its free :)
I’ve done a little quilting, only easy (square) stuff, though.
Here’s the google on Hawaiian quilt if anyone wants to see any finished progects.
whew is right. dang, snowing at crater lake in june
Preview? Yeah, heard of it. Why do you ask?
I took a picture of the” No Salmon Fishing” poster on a wall in the tackle shop in Marshall yesterday. It is so sad. We are killing the oceans. Harder to see that than where we’re killing the air and killing the soil, but it is all the same.
I didn’t stop on 101 to take pictures of the cute road cleaning sponsor signs, though…
cream background, green hand dyed main applique and then the green border and terra cotta border are asymmetrical. totally winging it and she loves it.
these are the artists leading off the Hawkfest tomorrow night
there may be better YouTubes of them, I just grabbed this one
good night all
g’nite neuro
Sounds like a winning color combo.
OMG, Fern Canyon. We went there when I was a kid because my Mom loooooves ferns. Camped at Prairie Creek State Park a few times iirc. Hope that herd of Roosevelt Elk is still there.

I’m out, too. See y’all tomorrow.
Hello FDL tech support? I can’t this post to open up:
Fitzgerald to Conyers: “Okay, Now I’m Ready to Talk”
I first tried earlier in the day, and gave up thinking it’d be fixed later, or maybe it was my computer. But now at 11:33pm Pac time, it’s still not opening up. Please help – I’d like to read it!
sound like both a great and fulfilling trip for all… congratulations to ET ette for graduation… We are going to niece’s HS graduation in the AM… Damm they just grow up way too quick. Seems you just get them outta diapers and they are leaving the nest… where did all that time GO???
maybe not: appropriately enough, the vote in favor of preserving the existing (higher, so to speak) limits may be counted a bit late….

Hey, Oaktown Girl
Howdy.
Have you tried the button at the top of the FDL homepage that says “Emptywheel”? It’s one of her posts, so if you go to her homepage and scroll down you should see it.
FunnyD
Goodnight all sleepy pups that I missed. Sleep well.
FunnyD
ET, that trip sounds wonderful (well, except for June snow at Crater Lake) – and the RV definitely rules out Fern Canyon. The “scenic route”, though, is easy for RV’s (and less hilly than the ugly stretch of 101 bult to bypass it).
I hope you have a great trip and ETette has a lovely grad.
….and I hope ET, jr is careful about those DFH tree huggers at Humboldt State…careful to bring tofu to the potlcuks, that is :)
Keeping fingers eyes and every thing crossed it falls short! Would hurt a lot of DFH people who are great people!
g’nite neuro and wang – good dreams!
i drove down 101 from oregon 3 years ago and loved that area. seeing the elk alongside the highway had me a wee bit concerned

Aloha, nahant! I shall bow out too… I bid ya’ll a fond adieu! Aloha Oe!!!

Hey, ET
If you’re still here, and not totally overbooked for next week, the Seattle Symphony is doing the film Alexander Nevsky with the Prokofiev score performed live. I’ve bowed out of that performance, but it should be good.
Or, if you’re still around on a Monday night, there’s Silent Movie Monday at the Paramount, with Dennis James live on the theater organ, which is huge fun. I’ll see if I can find a link.
FunnyD

Yo Suzanne, you got a first class gig goin’ here at nite. I’m at work (got called in) and will be checkin in thru the darkness so psyhcic care pakages over the internet tubes will be much appreciated. Is our paarty’s nominee for President finally gunna occupy the newcycles after Saturday or is the poor woman’s Doroty from Kansas gunna keep peekin’ in from backstage?

Silent Movie Mondays
Haven’t been in several years, but it’s a real treat.
This series is Douglas Fairbanks. And I think they do a short and maybe even a little sing along (follow the bouncing ball).
FunnyD
Aloha, CT – good dreams!
Well those of us that are youtube deprived like to find little tasks to keep us busy!
(have I grumbled about ‘puter nazi lately?)
thanks norske – will keep the vibes going your way
You got your fondest wish – Obama stepped forward and literally seized the Democratic from the Clintons. Now Obama and Dr. Dean have the con.
It sounds like she’s finally getting a grip. The party elders did some fine work yesterday.
i was dialup until november (shrudder) and remember those days well… i would let them load, one at a time in the background (silent to avoid that horrible start stop noise) and then play them one after another in the morning.
there is no way to circumvent the pooter proofer?
((((Norske))))
I’m on the West Coast, so not quite as late night. Just as crazy, though.
As for news cycle domination, who knows? Hope Senator O can keep Bubbba from shooting off his mouth, thoughe. Even if he’s _trying_ to support the campaign. Don’t need _that_ kind of help for crying out loud.
FunnyD
That was very impressive. But we’ve seen excellent leadership and discipline working within his campaign so far. Pretty much, a no-bullshit operation.
Yep. He assumed control of the levers, and striking at the heart of the money system – no corporate contributions – puts McCain in a terrible rhetorical pinch.
Bravo!

hey spidey – how’s your end of the bay?
Yeah, looks like there really is a new Sheriff in town. Got the “not accepting PAC money” email from Dr Dean today. Wrote back asking about Blue America and Moveon.org. Pointed out that not all lobbyists are corporate, and not all PACs are industry based. Also asked if down-ticket candidates will be penalized for taking money from groups like Blue America.
But I’m liking the take charge-itude from Senator Obama. Seems like he’s got a lot of finesse to go with the brains.
FunnyD
Never thought I’d get a chance to see another “Camelot”.
…waaaaaaaaay windy….like halloween in june
Hi, Spidey!
Good to see you.
Any chance for housemates, an Aquarius and a Taurus, to reconcile after the knock-down, drag-out we had tonight? Hate to lose the friendship, but saying “I understand that….and I’m NOT going to apologize” isn’t exactly de-escalating, now is it. And, yes I did plenty of escalating myself, but she left the house this morning picking a fight and came in that way tonight.
FunnyD
we’ve been getting gusts down here but being nestled in this little valley i’m usually protected. must be reallyu blowing up on the ridge
…tough to bring together two polar opposites like aquarius & taurus…make a nice yellow cake with chocolate frosting and lay out your nicest cake plates with a pot of tea and music from the hearts of space.
it might work
Ooof. Halloween cold, too?
We’ve been getting heavy rain.
FunnyD
great description!
the “gate” is gusting steadily tonight.
i got spoiled when baby girl was here – i had my heater going since she came in from the desert and was freezing. tonight, i’m not feeling the slightest bit guilty about using my heater after april 15th – there is a bite in the air tonight

Same here, Suz.
56 now.
And in a few days, when it’s hovering past 80 at night, we’ll have forgotten this song :-)
maybe you know the latest on the spray kirk?
(laughing) i’ll be looking at photo’s of winterscapes with longing – and bailey will be snarling that it is all my fault that its hot and she’s wearing a forking full length full coat
the LBAM?
Thanks, Spidey
Hmmmmm…
Too many food sensitivities to make that feasible.
Maybe I’ll just make myself scarce for awhile, then see what can be accomplished with a different favorite food.
Yeah, OK, and start chipping away at my clutter again. But she couldn’t have expected me to do much today after she scolded me. Well, asked me what’s the plan for those and why are they still there in a pile. And I clearly wasn’t imagining or entirely projecting the irritation.
Sigh.
I’m the Aquarius, btw. Pretty much smack in the middle of the sign, too, iirc.
So, do you think getting a mutual friend who’s a Leo to mediate would be a good idea? I need to vent, which maybe she shouldn’t deal with, but I’m also looking for plain ol’ information.
FunnyD
Spray? That sounds ominous.
I remember the whole Mediterranean Fruit Fly furore back in the early 80s(?).
FunnyD
it takes two to argue and two to make up
perhaps both of you need a wee bit of cooling off time
i suspected you are the aquarius since the taurus wouldn’t be talking about the fight on late late nite…
getting a leo in would probably result in the leo playing the star role and nothing accomplished…taurus’s hate clutter especially if it is wierd clutter and you wouldn’t know about that, would you? …once again, something cozy to eat and few words said, just a twinkle in your eye…(and the clutter should disappear for sure)
don’t even bother trying to explain, just lay down an olive branch
…libras and sagitarius make good mediators
and VIRGOS RULE! :D
Getting a Libra to mediate might do, scales n’ all that. maybe a Sag, the sag would be more entertaining than the Libra, though not as accountable, jes my two astrological cents, fwiw.
Funnydiva – there are
nofew problems in life that cake can not solve.Suz – can’t find anyway around the block, interestingly, lots of streaming video sites work just fine, but youtube specifically is locked up tight.
I got the chance to play bad-dad tonight. My 10 year old has had a slumber party planned for tomorrow. I just found out that they were all being taken downtown for a late night Rocky Horror Picture Show viewing…
…don’t get me wrong, I have enjoyed RHPS more than a few times… …but never at 10 years old. Someone tell me I’m not over-reacting, because I have tentatively cancelled the plans…
hey jacqrat…long time no see
todays ten year old is yesterdays 16
Tuning out other composers’ music as I’m starting to write incidental music for a production of the big guy’s “As You Like It.”
(disappeared to write a post for PA in light of Obama’s anti-inside-the-beltway-PAC announcement today)
Ayup. Right on both counts.
You aren’t a Mom or something, are ya?
Thanks. Cooling off time and progress on the clutter front.
Thank you Spiderpaws. I really appreciate it. No WAY the clutter will disappear completely, but significant progress can be made.
Weird clutter = not their clutter to a large extent, but, yes, she’s been making an effort that I realize I haven’t been meeting.
Sigh.

i would check with the other parents and find out their reactions… jen was a much younger 10 than baby girl was at 10. depends on the kid

Hi, Spidey. Yeah I lurk a lot.
at ten i was reading H P Lovecraft with a flashlight under the sheets with my black & white cat Pepper
I don’t remember 10.
Hahaha!
And aren’t afraid to tell the whole world so! ;>)
I’m told I’ve got a fair amount of Virgo in the chart. Something to do with “you’re not doing it right!!!” and not understanding that some minds don’t work as fast as mine.
Ooh. Hearing the wind chime here, too. Not too bad yet. Hope it isn’t yet another wet system.
FunnyD
Ah. Understandable. Sounds like fun.
Hope it’s a paying gig.
And, as you know, tons to do here, even without music.

oooh, looking for my doo-wopera UTube now…
1,864 DAYZ AND THE KILLNI’ GOEZ ON AND ON AND…
Citizen Suzanne and the Firepup Freedom Fighters:
Thanx all fer the neighborly salutations from accross the virtual backyard fence. My son and I are leavin’for the Lake a the Woods this afternoon and we MIGHT ta come back on Tuesday but not before we make a significant dent in the Walleye population…maybe that’ll be enough ta get detoxed from HRC over-exposure and I’ll come back with a more tolerant attitude toward her made for TV performances. I’ve never been intollenat of HRC supporters (except fer those that insisted on callin’ us Obama folks misogynists) but HRC herself has got my whole family includin my 83 year old mother on theior last nerve.
KEEP THE FAITH AND PASS THE AMMUNITION, AND REMEMBER WE’RE ALL GUNNA END UP IN THE SAME PLACE!!
with significant virgo in your chart, you should be able to bridge the gap with the taurus…
speaking of sheets…adios
fishing is always good for the soul – toss in some tunes on an ipod and it don’t get much better than that.
enjoy your trip norske
aw/ night spidey
Suz, you didn’t respond to my pedi joke earlier. did I offend?

Oh: for ET or anyone else headed up from US 101 (north of Crescent City) to Grants Pass via US 199…
after the beautiful/twisty Smith River part, you come to the Illinois River valley (and the driving gets much easier). In the little town of Cave Junction you’ll find the Wild River Brewing and Pizza Company on the south side of the road, with good parking for RV’s in the commercial lots across the road.
Great microbrew and yummy pizza!
And…
for those headed to I-5 via 299 from Arcata (on a road less twisty but much more boring than 199), you’re in luck: the excellent Mad River brewery awaits
great tours, but….
But wait – there’s more!
Just down from Arcata in Eureka is the sublime Lost Coast Brewery….with a full-on kitchen and great discounts on cases with slight label problems (you know what you’re drinking, but the label may be a bit askew)
…sadly, Arcata’s very own brewpub – Humboldt Brewing – appears to be no more. (sigh. hope that’s not the case.)
Speaking of case, time for bed and a Downtown Brown (or the other way ’round?)
I’m all tapped out.
Good night pups.
found it
just woke up token laughing… cause ya know i’m here
goodnight, Spidey
Sleep well. Thanks again.

Try the spell icon ABC with a check for checking yo pucking spelling maan…no edit needed.
Good evening Dr Murphy. Today we remembered a great Irish American named Robert Kennedy. The best all time Ameican attorney general three of his 11 kids were in the NYT each with a tribute to a great dad and a true patriot. His message was help those less fortunate than yourself. Seems you have. Be kind and courageous.
I had a teary afternoon thinking of JFK, MLK and Bobby talk about stand up guys!

Goodnight, Doctor.

spray is blocked in two counties (Santa Cruz and Monterrey, IIRC) by superior court injunction. still on schedule for aug 3 (?) in populated bay area counties. fight goes on – but cass will win, i do believe.
On Olbermann tonight they said that it didn’t amount to very much money, but it sure was a rhetorical coup.
Hey bigbrother
Amen.
Have an excellent trip, Norske and NorskeJr. Hope the walleyes are biting and the skeeters aren’t .

He’s going to spank him every day with something. I would expect to see the Obama campaign roll out a few dozen major issues that they will simply rotate, day after day,
fingers and toes crossed newton
he needs to come out strong and keep hammering until he gets mcsame to blow his top so the voters see the real mcsame
Doo-Wopera
for when UTube comes back. It’s really funny. And it has a diva. Hmmm…am I biased, do ya think?
FunnyD
Yep. And Obama has to remain scrupulously factual – no exaggerations of hyperbole. The truth alone is gahd-awful for McCain – no reason at all to draw unnecessary fire,
I’m one of those weird double virgos, yet i was born on a leo/virgo cusp. *shrugs* So bizarre mixture of introvert/extrovert and a scary head for business in any aspect. The ‘UR DOIN IT WRONG” button goes off in my head constantly, i just figured out how not to hit it all the time. Thankfully.
(But does NOT help when dealing with a newish employee that STILL hasn’t gotten the basic aspects of the job down at all. Then i get twitchy, she’s been with us a solid year! Some basic things should be ingrained by now, or she should be making connections on her own.)
Diva – my YouTube is fine on various browsers and operating systems. Have you checked to see if there’s a Flash update?
if she’s been with ya a year, she’s not new and should know this shizz by now.
any word on the hospital job?
And the cool thing is that he can simply be firmly factual. No extra provocation required. McCain will either blow his top or simply show his complete emptiness. Win-win.
Oh, if there are any campaign workers lurking: the “pundits” here are friendly. Certainly not preening for an audience of millions (at a salary of millions). Might not hurt to fish for some volunteers here.
FunnyD
gosh darn it!
I owe you a Coke!
FunnyD
Great minds, etc
yeap – keep going after him about honor and being bush 3
and one can always drop a dime on the campaign of choice and volunteer
Not yet suzanne.
Honestly? i didn’t know it all by the end of the first year either. But i at least started to catch onto the drugs that were narcotics and those that weren’t! I had about 50 memorized by then and i was catching onto the other details too. Most of it was just plain old paying attention while doing the job.
I knew how to do the usual day to day logistics, it was the pharmacy details i concentrated on learning. I’m trying to nudge her in the same direction, but sadly her mind works differently than mine. Which is a given, but i wish i could help her a bit more. *sighs* She just doesn’t have the knack for details that it demands. She has the potential to learn it, but she’ll have to work three times as hard as i did for the same lessons.

Citizen Suzanne:
Got an I-pod from eldest daughter as a kinda reverse graduation gift fer Mom and Dad fer payin 4 .5 years of tuition…she loaded it fer me when we got it and then hasn’t been able ta teach me how ta set up the database and expand my playlist…but I got my CD’s and we got a 5 disc player on our Alumacraft 165 Sport…never leave home without My Bob Marley and Bill Evans and John Coletrain.
KEEP THE FAITH AND PASS THE AMMUNITION, I THINK WE’RE GUNNA WIN THIS ONE!!
Dam, that’s annoying. They’re the sort that make their performance issue your problem.
Need a housemate? I’m a quick study.
But, no, I’m confident that you’re moving on to bigger and better very soon.
Yeah, not only do I have the virgo, I’ve got 10 years on the housemate. Fork. Double responsibility to be active in working things out. Sigh.
FunnyD
sounds like prime fishing music norske
Way ahead of ya on the dime dropping.
emailed my congressman today–at his campaign email. Basically asked, do you need a hand, or shall I go help Darcy Burner kick Rep. Reichert’s butt.
Don’t know enough about city stuff yet, but that’s next.
FunnyD
sounds like excellent incentive for a speedy response by your congresscritter funny
Yeah. I also have the geek thing going for me too. Which helps when dealing with any kind of work related detail. She is most definitely NOT geek material at all. Not all techs are geeks, but it helps. But you still have to have a head for an insane amount of details for such a specialty. I read something a few days ago that the 6 year Doctor of Pharmacy program is now more difficult to be accepted in than just for schooling to be a MD/GP. It somehow doesn’t surprise me much…
Especially with the level of information the pharmacists themselves work with daily just to quality check the work of us techs. (and we check our own work too, quite often before it reaches the Pharmacist for the final look)
attaturk is upstairs pups and there’s a zed to claim!
Not anymore!
Ok all you fabulous firepups. I’m fading fast, here.
So, good night and good dreams and thanks for the good company.

g’nite funny
time for me to head out myself pups. thanks for hanging with me tonight. g’nite all
Obama has thought this campaign out carefully… no big donors no big obligations. He is restoring democracy one vote at a time. We are wirnessing some awssome history. Now Obama and the Kennedy’s are teamimg up to finish the job that Bobby and Martin Luther King started.
That is why we need Impeachment to finish off those hateful rascist neocons once and for all time.
A thing of beauty.
This is from Hail! Hail! Rock and Roll!, Keith’s homage to Chuck, his original muse. (Mick Jagger upon meeting Keith for the first time: “You the bloke that plays Chuck Berry riffs better ‘an Chuck?”).
The funniest scene is when the band is trying to lay into the song Carol and Chuck (who can be really obnoxious at times) keeps stopping them so he can show Keith how the opening is s’posed to be done. Of course, Keith can play circles around Chuck, but Keith swallows his pride, rolls his permanently mascaraed eyes, and gives Chuck the respect (and protects Chuck’s dignity) by allowing Chuck to show him.
Great R&R flick!
hey, nahant! i grew up for a while on the island of nahant in boston harbor. any connection ‘tween your username and my younger days?
Agree to all of the above, and yet for all of that he still doesn’t merit a post of congratulation at FDL.
Yes, I’m still flogging that dead horse.
Very disappointed in the leadership here on this issue.
