DNC member from California Christine Pelosi has endorsed Barack Obama tonight:
Jon Tester on msnbc now
Jon Tester on MSNBC, endorsing Barack Obama!
hmmm, it seems like Democratic voters do not vote for Progressives.
maybe the Democratic Party is not and never will be a force for the progressive change that is so badly needed?
so, somewhere, in an alternate universe, there is probably a place where people of pregressive values get to vote for politicians with progressive values.
I know I know, pure science fiction, speculative.
But the Progressives of this alternate universe would be just as appalled at us and at the Axiom of Automatic support for the Least Worst.
“my goodness” they would exclaim “if people who claim to have Progressive values always cave in and vote for (D) politicians who have corporate, warmongering values, then both Parties would end up being nearly indistinguishable!”
Leonard Boswell.
I love how Tester smiles with his whole face.
Tester pushing Schweitzer as Obama’s running mate!
I know, sort of like the Paul Newman/Dennis Quaid smiles…
i apologize if this is too OT, but here’s an update for those who have been following my daughter’s photos being sent from Obama’s speech at the St. Paul Civic Center.
Right on, I sincerely hope to see a more unified Democratic party emerge, en masse, to start the long process of dismantling not only BushCo, but those weaseling sonsabitches we call the MSM.
They need to get their walking papers too.
ick, rich person Brian Williams is now talking about his Montana credentials….
You gotta be kidding. This IS the topic. Thanks for the great photos!
oops – chalk up a “duh” for the slow guy. thanks.
The Fly-Over anchor.
Better than Gov Janet…. Brian has a great Lt Gov… AZ would be screwed if we lost our Gov….. THAT is important….. what mess would be left behind if a candidate leaves their current office….. Ya being VP would be great but…
What loss?
Here comes the “Pelosi Club”!
UH…..
You got it!
Excellent photos, thank you so much for linking up our nominee’s rally!
Looks like this race has been called for the incumbent (post updated above):

why does he always point his nose at me!
Did you catch his swipe at blogs? Saying this is not community.
((((CT))))) I’m so sorry to hear of your lost. much love, peace and light.
What? Linky, please.
I like throwing Janet’s name out there to scare McCain, make him think maybe he’ll need to shore up his home state. But I doubt Obama would choose her.
What the Magic One wants…he shall have.
It’s going to be all about him now….
I hope everyone who is backing him now sees that and stay with him…to whatever end he journey’s to.
how cool. i heard it on the radio, so nice to have a vision of it. Good for your daughter! thank her. thank you!
How does Christine Pelosi qualify as a delegate?
if we run around in circles really fast and look like a nascar race maybe we will count as community
Brian Williams saying that McCain’s book (but evidently not Obama’s) should be required reading for every American.
Blow me, Brian.
How do you think?
Notice the last name?
That is a clue.
Line forms around the block, jayt.

My sincerest condolences.
Much mahalo! I already miss her! Obama mentioning his didn’t help matters…!

i hope you don’t forget your role in our democratic experiment.
I keep my copy of McCain’s book by the toilet. Looks like I’ll finish it soon and be back to Charmin.
SPEW!!!
LOL!!!
no thanks. I have more pressing books to read.
Not OT at all now we just need some pics of McCain’s crowd today so we could compare them side by side
Bwahahaha!
I find evil laughs strangely exhilarating!
Hurry up! Turn left! Hurry up! Turn left!

Note the number of Michigan SD’s that came out for Obama after the deal that allowed the delegation to be seated. I suspect that they shifted their support because Obama actually allowed the MDP compromise to go through (the same one presented over a month ago but fought by Ickes). As noted by some on the Rules Committee Obama had the votes to ask for even a larger share of the MICHIGAN delegation but did not…thus the large “compensatory” SD support.
Also note the major shift of SD’s pledged to Clinton to Obama.
I’m sure it didn’t. I hope that the peace that she has found will bring you some comfort.
I thought they all secretly consulted Drudge for leads.
She is a SUPER delegate as a member of the DNC from California.

i’m blown away by neuro’s comment (on one of the many threads going on) that there are 17,000 people inside the civic center, and another 15,000 outside. I know my daughter is so excited to be there. Many of her friends wanted to go and couldn’t find people to sub for them at work (minnesota work ethic, they don’t just not show up). Each time i talked to her on phone while she was waiting in line it was difficult to carry on conversation, the background noise loud, enthusiastic, vibrant with energy and hope. Truly exciting times, my friends! I am so awed at the passion and energy displayed by the young ‘uns.
good news, indeed
707! Aren’t you supposed to be asleep?
That is so COOL!
Sounds like she did the right thing going on down there early this afternoon.
I get to be Bill Elliot.;)

Care for some pie? I prefer the rhubarb.
Tweety has Rendell
Couldn’t resist a quick looksee on the way. Goddamn place is addicting.
This is a historic night. how cool to be there to witness. I feel the hope from that stadium all the way to NY!! Gives me a wave of faith that the healing has seriously begun.

Brian Williams saying that McCain’s book (but evidently not Obama’s) should be required reading for every American.
Right everyone should read about a man who was tortured who trades his vote against torture for a Presidential nomination. Everyone should read about a father who HUGS THE FREAK WHO CALLED HIS KID A BASTARD! Instead of hitting him.
Everyone should read about a man who was against Bush’s tax cuts
before he ran for the GOP Presidential Primaryer before he was for themWhats McCain’s immigration position this week?
Everyone should read McCain’s book to realize just how much a loser a person can become as they sell everything they believed in slowly one thing at a time for power.!
Hum. Is that like being in Skulls and Bones because your daddy was?
First time I heard that it was the Ayatollah Khomaneh (however ya spell that crazy ol’ guys name) back in the late 70’s.
Marvelous!
Seconded.
The burning question for me tonight is…
…could I substitute lime curd in martha’s pie?
Oh, I can already see it coming in 3,2,1…
don’t bother going over to Talk Left. they’re not quite ready to unify and go forward.
I take it that’s an understatement?
sort of. Better to give them a little space.
No, Christine’s a Democratic activist and elected to the DNC in her own right. She was a Book Salon guest here some time ago. She’s a very pleasant person — I met her at a local Democratic meeting once, and she was very polite (just before she and Mark Leno mowed me over with their machine).
I think her interest in politics may stem from her mother and grandfather (mayor of Baltimore back in the day) but I wouldn’t necessarily say that her position is due to her mother’s. But it can’t hurt, right? *g*
hispanic vote ..hillary will bring it? Umm the older ones maybe but not the younger
So, have they moved past denial to anger? If so, only 3 more stages to go.
And credit where credit is due:
Christina stayed well past expected at that Salon.
Evening all.
sorry i’m late to the party
g’evening theodore
g’evening pups
I have stuck been stuck at anger for several years now, The bastards killed my country.
McCain’s Sam’s Club 5 gallon jug of Barbecue Sauce must be laced with Jim Jones cool aid the press just thinks McCain buys at Costco but McCain has a Costco jug he refills with Sam’s Club discount mild barbecue sauce from China!
Aloha, Betsy and Suz!
Suzanne!
Back in out loving arms!
Heather Wilson is losing !!!!!!!
None I know of?
Ditto, I’m lazy tonight.
somebody squessed his nose upside his face for being boring, stoopid and arrogant.
Hey Suzanne. Great wedding pix at your place!
Link, please!
Thank you!
Howdy, ma’am!
McCain lost Montana
she attended the Obama event at Target Arena in downtown Minneapolis before the Minnesota caucuses in February so she knew what to expect *g*
I do believe that would be just wonderful.
So tired of Pat Buchanan asking, “What is wrong with Barack Obama?”
I feel ya, bro!
Hello, Suzanne!
Obama did a lot of gracious embracing of the party tonight.
He hit change hard… and he also had a confident, powerful, and DYNAMIC voice. He cited examples of Americans struggling.. populism rhetoric first Edwards and then Hillary were getting a strong handle on.
And he has such confidence in his voice talking about McCain. Great to hear.
A primary challenge?
Suzanne! Betsy!
So glad to see you both.
Heather Wilson is losing !!!!!!!
Thanks for the smile I’m wearing right now…
Hi Betsy
Hiya Suz
thanks, pups…
Agreed. If only Buchanan would gaze into a reflective surface…
bwa-hahahaha
Hey Suz, good to see you!
Hey Doodle. Hi Margot.
What???
You mean We are alone in our brilliance of this Magic Moment?
Ha!
Life throws a lotta curves.
Consider the lilies of the field….ya know?
They don’t toil or SPIN….but, nevertheless….
((Wobbly at da beach ))
The Lake’s closure didn’t help much last nite, eh? ;-)
Good, b/c limes were on sale today, 8 for a dollar and lemons were still $0.33.
I might sub strawberries for the raz, too.
So tired of Pat Buchanan asking, “What is wrong with Barack Obama?”
“Have you checked the present electoral vote count? Obama doesn’t have a single vote yet!!! Loser – Loser!!!”
“Have I mentioned my new book yet tonight?”
Hey Betsy
hey Suzanee. Saw the pics of the wedding. Beautiful!
Um… his kind have no refection in mirrors.
Which store?
That stupid, thieving Lunatic McCain. Those people are so empty they have stolen Obama’s slogan “Change We Can Believe In.” Their brilliant version is “A Leader We Can Believe In”. Oh, the Leader is actually Decider Kommander Yoonitary Guy.
Yeah how does McCain lose Montana? Nobody is running against him but a few people still had their names on the ballot and McCain loses!
But of course the MSM tools have a talking point about how divided we are today.
Hilary got more votes than McCain in how many Primaries? maybe she will offer McCain the GOP VP slot. After all she and Not McCain is the real challenger to Obama.
i wasn’t working but i sure was jonesin for the soothing waters of the lake. am glad tech crew got us back up and running smoothly
Too early for peaches – peaches and pale green lime curd would be pretty.
What sort of a snack would you like in honor of your return?
YoonitaryLoonitaryYou called?
Absolutely…lime curd, oh yum. What about really going out on a limb…orange or pink grapefruit or citrus mix? Delish!

New book? Is it about Valerie?
Yoonitary LoonitaryMoonietaryMcCain actually came in third.
A bunch of us went to the Treehouse! Poor Betsy had to handle the overflow…! Good job, Betsy!
Sun Harvest, on Anderson just east of the Mopac. Tomorrow’s prolly the last day of the sale, their’s run Wed. to Wed. (so every Wed. they overlap and you get last week’s and this week’s sale prices.)
PICS? Donde?
Now that’s gotta hurt.
Just a warning to folks that they aren’t there yet and I understand that. they need a bit of time. so yes, we are one of the few islandsof love on the toobz *g*
Hey Suz- very perfect m-o-b ensemble you were wearing, too! Swirly with slightly understated Pizazz!
Suzanne gets first choice.
Why would you want to eat crow ma dear?

imitation is the highest form of flattery. Or was the meaning that your lazy as hell.
New book? Is it about Valerie?
No – apparently WWII and The Holocaust were both Winston Churchill’s fault.
Who knew?
Cretin.

McCain actually came in third.
And where is Pat Buchanan shouldn’t he be saying that coming in third to TWO PEOPLE WHO ARE NO LONGER RUNNING IS A FIRST FOR A GOP PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE THIS LATE IN THE GAME?
When is McCain going to unify his party?
oh hai, ty
I just heard pumkinhead say he’d like to teach American history in middle school. Guy has no clue. He can come to my fifth grade class. Soon as he gets control, he can start teaching. The hardest part is getting control, the teaching part is easy.
Dibs on lower left!
uhm, folks, the montana republican caucus results are from february:
http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/20…../state/#MT
kos updated his erroneous report.
that does sound good ;)
boa noite demi
For the curd. I was taking a dessert cooking class last week (recreational therapy!) and the chef said that lemons, limes, oranges, grapefruit–all types of citrus made wonderful curds. You just need to adjust the sugar for your taste.
The results you are seeing are from the 2/5 GOP primary, not today’s event.
That’s what I figured, yummers! And I have 3 large pink grapefruits in the fridge, the kind that are naturally sweet.
Thanks! Going upstairs now…
B.N. to you too.
Later, dudes and dudettes.
All y’all.
yes, it’s fashionable to bash a member of the “blue-dog” coalition. but please, let’s be real. this is a largely rural district in iowa — which hadn’t been held by a democrat ever (other than after 1964). boswell is about the best that the district can support. and to his credit, he was one of the blue dogs who spoke in support of the no-telco-immunity bill on the house floor before the house passed its enlightened legislation.
as a resident of boswell’s district, please leave him alone.
