It’s all so predictable now. A BushCo insider (see O’Neill, Paul; Clarke, Richard; Adelman, Kenneth; Kuo, David; Wilkerson, Lawrence etc. etc. etc.) exposes rampant BushCo malfeasance/corruption/incompetence, and rather than directly addressing or rebutting the charges, the wingnuts break out the literally exactly the same four ad hominems in defense of the Great Leader: (updated)
1) He’s just trying to sell books!
Scott McClellan learns that the way to get good press as a Republican is to write a book burning a Republican president.
2) He’s a liar!
There’s always a demand for a professional liar.
3) He’s disgruntled!
"When you suck at your job, quit and write a book ripping your old boss."
And my personal favorite — 4) He’s a liberal!!!
Bush’s legacy has been badly damaged by his staffing decisions, which included too many "loyal" Texans, too many liberals, and too many light-weights.
In this case, McClellan fits all three categories.
Hilarious.
You’d think by now the wingtards would be weary of these endless auto-da-fes. It’s not like they’re doing any good — the guy they’re trying to protect is sitting at 28%. It’s just that they love nothing more than to spew venom and point and shriek and attack, especially when one of their own turns heretic and tells the truth.
RedState sums up the entire right-wing blogosphere’s response to Scotty nicely:
What a scumbag.
Reow!
TP has more here. And the White House goes with #3 and calls McLellan "disgruntled."
UPDATE
And now, according to the Cornerites, McClellan loves abortion and is pro-terrorist. Really.
And there’s this hilarious post from Kathleen Parker beginning,
I’m confused about Scott McClellan’s book. Without having read it…
So much fun.

“Part of the role of being a trust adviser is to honor that trust,” said Bartlett. “It’s not your place now to go out” and criticize the president.”
Dan Bartlett on McClellan. It’s official. The shrub WH is a cult.
Well, Scottie is kinda going all George Tenet on us, isn’t he?
No, he’s way more scathing than Tenet. And Tenet wasn’t a Texas Bushie, he was a Clinton appointee, so he was much easier to dismiss.
Yep – SOP — nothing to see here..move along…the guy is just your standard a**hole…we always knew he was an idiot…how can you take someone like this seriously…etc. etc. I’d like Conyers to take him seriously…very seriously. I’d like Conyers to put his hand on a Bible and get him to tell everything…he…knows…about Rove and Cheney and Libby and Bush and everyone else up there. Because WE take you seriously, Scotty. We certainly do. And we’d like you to sit down with John Dean for a cup of coffee real soon to talk about what you’re going through now because John Dean KNOWS what it’s like. You can be a hero to the American People Scott — all you’ve got to do is tell the truth.
It’ll be interesting to see how Scotty reacts. O’Neill backtracked rather dramatically after the fear of God was put into him. I’m sure Scotty’s phone is ringing off the hook. They’re like the Mafia.
I’m hoping his phone is ringing big time and I’m hoping it’s John Conyers on speed dial.
Oooh. ouch. I always wonder about the timing of these books and the decision making process of the authors of tell alls. But I do feel very sorry for those who tried to be reasonable and responsible and found themselves swimming with sharks. Must be terrible.
I’m also hoping he’s hearding from John Dean and Valerie Plame Wilson.
Jeez that is fricking good advice! (to call John Dean). very good advice.
I’m sticking with my prediction from this morning that before the week is out a Gooper Congressman will call for Scottie to be tried for treason.
And don’t forget 5) It’s old news.
“I do not expect a comment from him on it — he has more pressing matters than to spend time commenting on books by former staffers.”
OK, so he’s disgruntled . About what? All the lying! . He says the Iraq misadventure took Bush off course . As if all the rest was OK . Not exactly Liberal-In-Sheep’s-Clothing material. McClellan deserves to be ripped, but for not doing this sooner, such as when it actually mattered . Where were you in ‘02 – ‘04 Scottie?
yo, Karl: take ‘dis gruntle and shove it.
That’s certainly a good question, but it doesn’t mean he’s not telling the truth now, which is the wingnut argument.
It’s hard to find a gruntle when you need one.
Let’s hope it is Pat Fitzgerald!
Didn’t he say the case was not closed, pending additional information or revelations?
Could the Rove/Libby ‘visit’ qualify?
it’s a Grimm tale: hand sell and gruntle.
When will they trot out the allegation that he’s gay and likes little boys? You know it’s just a matter of time before they start whispering this in the ears of the Villagers.
Isn’t gruntle the sound Karl Rove makes?
Oy! lol
I’m sure the phones of his family and friends are ringing off the hook.
gruntle is the new “So”
I am not a lawyer but..this certainly looks as if it would fit:
CONSPIRACY – 18 U.S.C. 371 makes it a separate Federal crime or offense for anyone to conspire or agree with someone else to do something which, if actually carried out, would amount to another Federal crime or offense. So, under this law, a ‘conspiracy’ is an agreement or a kind of ‘partnership’ in criminal purposes in which each member becomes the agent or partner of every other member.
http://www.lectlaw.com/def/c103.htm
Weirdly, similar rumors have dogged McCLellan for years.
They work for that famous DC law firm: Dewey Cheatham and Howe.
Shrill-creem: a little gruntle do ya.
and you can be damned sure that neither of them told Fitz that he had been conspiring with the other to get the story straight.
I realize it’s not their argument . That’s my question , ahead of what I expect will be praise from some media airheads, about his “candor” &/or “courage”.
Scootie Patootie better watch out for those Russian limousine drivers, Pikup and Dropov.
Or in Scotty’s case, Shill-creme :)
Typo…last line should read, McClellan.
They dont even change the words they use. Fleischer today on NPR was verbatim to Rove last night. Much more convincing liar, but same hatchet job/rehab on the brand. A script is a script.
Shrill-Creme & Shill-Creme lol
I wonder if the “incident” he doesn’t want to talk about has to do with Gannon….
Back when John Diulio left the “Office of Faith Based” Charlatanery and stuff and then coined the term “Mayberry Machiavellis” there should have been a realization that the 1600 Crew was as much of a cult as the Moonie church.
Well, not so much. Reporters want their access, networks want their access, everyone wants their “nickname” and no one really tells the truth, ever.
What else is new? They lie, they always lie.
TobyWallin and BT, would Mukasey have to re-appoint Fitz to reopen the Plame investigation? We know that will never happen.
Bartlett to Scottie: “I sir, am not responsible for your gruntlement”
transit service in DC must be seriously disrupted with all the buses having things thrown under them.
I defer to Christy Harden Smith.
Nah, Punaise…the DC Metro Bus Service is equipped with under bus carriers on all units. ;)
Howdy-Doody Scottie is quite the gruntle-oquist.
that goes with the territory.
The Script:
1) Dismissive
2) Ridicule
3) Disgruntled/Axe to Grind/ Dems/far left- playing politics/ for financial gain
4) Patriotism card
5) Character assassination
6) Stonewall/already talked about/we’re not going to “endlessly” talk about it

Propaganda

slightly o/t but why did Tweety have two reicht-wing tools on his show yesterday to tell us merkicans that a peace candidate cannot win during war time (utterly untrue, as well). Tweets looked quite resigned and unhappy at having friggin’ Tucker Carlson impersonating a serious person and Pat Buchanan.
more propaganda. it was utter horsesh*t.
Once again angry bloggers are helping Amurika’s enemies in the Battle Of The Civilizations. Scottie we hardly knew ye. Scottie has been transformed into a angry fem blogger according to KKKarl Rove.
http://www.swamppolitics.com/n…..ne_mi.html
However, the good news is that blogging may be good for your health.
the whole drama makes me think of what happens when an abused child tries to tell the truth about the abuse and the whole dysfunctional family closes ranks to hide the abuse and discredit the abused child. Just more abuse upon abuse.
Bush Administration are People of the Lie.
OK, for any ‘management’ that is hovering about, I’d like to suggest something – would it be possible to have(wait for it..wait for it)a salon with John Dean, Scott McClellan, and Jane si-mul-taneously? I think we should give Mr. McClellan all the support we possibly can. If the Rover is going to call him a ‘left-wing blogger’ the least we should do is give him a home.
It feels good to be vindicated after screaming at the top of my lungs at the freakin’ media all this time.
I heard Punkin Head this morning how shocking it was that scottie used words like propaganda and enabling.
Earth to Russert, look these words up in a dictionary and look at your actions the last few years for confirmation.
@sshole.
I do hope that this re lights a fire under Cheney and Rove in the Plame suit.
I never figured McClellan to have any balls, let alone ones big enough to slip the clutch on a Greyhound to run over BushCo.
part of a negotiated detente between MSNBC and Faux News perhaps?
That caught my attention too. Pathetic.
single bullsh*t theory: it was Scottie on the gassy know-all.
Or, a round table with John Dean, Mr. McClellan and Laura on GritTV.
What is there about Texans [with no insult meant to BT or TB!]…David Koresh, FLDS, Bu$hCo… they’re all
Wacowacko cults. So if McClellan is disgruntled now, was he gruntled before?
Tweety loves him some right-wingers, besides Buchanan must have some sort of weird contract that ensures he is on at least 10 minutes out of every hour and Tucker is still looking for work after being shitcanned from multiple cable shows. I guess that shows Tweety is a “great humanitarian”?
Did you also catch the next bit with Joan I’ve Lost My Senses during the Primaries Walsh of Salon and an editor (don’t recall name) on the RFK thing?
Joan Walsh was crying “rape” for Hilary. Really shameful. Accusing the Obama campaign of blowing it out of proportion, etc. The guy on the show was just saying “hey, there is a pattern here…” How can you blame someone for what you yourself said repeatedly?
Unfortunately HRC’s win at all costs campaign is too GOP for me. Joan Walsh just sealed the deal. If they cannot respect the democratic process then the hell with them.
Sound more and more like like the “Gliewitz Incident” everyday? With 911 as a a starting point, and the collective lies to justify the Iraqi invasion on a preemptive doctrine, while the intel was cooked/fabricated? Is this exactly what Hitler did to justify the invasion of Poland? Maybe Scott M is more of an “American” and less of a fascist, than he is given credit for, unlike his former employer?
Actually, in your list, only Koresh is a native Texan.
I know but Tucker and Buchanan in the same BS segment. I guess Tweets wanted to get it all over with. Tucker tried very hard not to smirk and look serious. Poster boy for nepotism/cronyism.
Yeah, their pre-screening of hires for gruntles is usually better than that.
I’d like a forum with John Dean, Bruce Fein and Vincent Bugliosi (The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder).
Just want to add that Texas has no corner on the abused family factor…
OT it’s been a while. But I went to see what the deficit was doing at the CBO site.
http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/90x……1.1.shtml
The on-budget deficit (without the Social Security surplus added in) is projected to be $592 billion and the off-budget deficit (the one politicians like to quote because it’s smaller) is currently set at $396 billion. More Bush success!
I thought that Fitz’s investigation was still open if anything new came up. However, I don’t know about his appointment – surely there is some kind of time limit on it, but remember how long Iran-Contra and Cisneros took.
Yeah didn’t they just “officially” close down the Cisneros investigation a year or so ago?
awesome idea. and i like the idea of having scottie drop in. we can be nice bloggers and welcome him to the light.
do folks here know that the Pelosi challenger also produces a play here in SF called the Impeachment Trail of George W. Bush and Richard ?. Cheney. It’s quite cathartic to listen to the promos.
I wonder if anyone has seen it.
OT.. via NYT
Democrats Advised to Seat Half of Disputed Delegates
Are we there yet? Can we stop now? Please let this help Hillary move on.
Poor Scottie, the “librul media” sure is doing a job on him./snark. I think he’ll end up on bestseller lists anyway. If that’s the case, I don’t know whether to cheer (because it would make Cheney mad) or jeer (because I still think Scotty was a Bush team player and doesn’t get exonerated so easily.)
Aren’t Scotty’s connections to the Bush Family Bonafide?
OT…about McCain:
http://www.iri.org/board.asp
http://rightweb.irc-online.org/profile/1481.html
“However, one relatively clear connection emerged between the U.S. government and the anti-Chávez movement: millions of dollars in U.S. taxpayer money channeled through the IRI and other U.S. organizations that funded groups opposed to Chávez during the years preceding the April coup. Writer Mike Ceaser reported that in an April 12, 2002, fax sent to news media, IRI President George A. Folsom rejoiced over Chávez’s removal from power. “The Venezuelan people rose up to defend democracy in their country,” he wrote. “Venezuelans were provoked into action as a result of systematic repression by the government of Hugo Chávez.” With NED funding, IRI had been sponsoring political party-building workshops and other anti-Chávez activities in Venezuela. “IRI evidently began opposing Chávez even before his 1998 election,”
Guess who the Chairman of IRI is/was????
Let the shrieking begin.
Well that’s no fun at all. I mean if Clinton can’t even win by cheating, what’s the point? /s
Please do not shriek at the messenger. /s
I wonder where Juno is….
Scottie told Ari Fleisher yesterday that he could not have written the book a year ago, and Fleisher says something must have come up in the last year…as told to Noron on MSNBC in interview occurring right now.
Doesn’t sound like the book reveals anything new. Yawn.
Ned Lamont is hosting a shindig tonight for David Sirota.
That makes me happy.
Clinton’s approach to FL and MI will become a classic political science case study in disingenuity.
The right is trashing the book the White House, Rove which I have to admit might tempt some of us to read his book. The White Hose knows that so why are they helping him sell more copies?
Maybe this is the new wingnut welfare marketing strategy, sell books to Lefties because we do read the “cognitive elite ” we used to be called by before guys like Karl and the NeoCons decided that they wanted to be called Geniuses and well read too! When and why the GOP decided that being thought of as smart was a good thing but I bet polling was involved.
Still I am not going to buy this book McClellan was a weak kneed liar as a White House press secretary I don’t expect him to tell the truth now. I don’t expect him to stop pushing Bush’s agenda somehow. That and I am not a White House insider so I have no way of knowing when McClellan is lying.
Marcy said she would read the book and point out any good parts I trust her expertise, hope she has a strong stomach and hope that Jane pays her extra to read such swill.
I am going to be embarrassed though if McClellan’s book sells clearing the path for EX loyal Bushies start to make a living selling books to us.
I wonder though just how are righty books selling in general are sales down?
Well.. its new if he gets subpoenaed to Congress as a result of it and he actually shows up and sings. If he does… Scotty’ll be at risk of showing up as a statistic in an amnesty international report, and the rest of us might just get to see Rover and Big Time in orange PJs.
Don’t even think that!
I get the feeling Chimpy cant help himself. Bush is pure bile and stubborness.
Scottie says in an interview outside his house that the book has an “important message” that needs to be heard.
Here’s an article at the Nation comparing Scott McClellan to John Dean.
article
Well, I saw the word shrieking, so naturally my thoughts turned in that direction…!
Sorry Marion! I’m not Juno but I’m past my saturation point with Hilary and her surrogates after the RFK thing.
I’ll just leave it there.
I wonder if all of the torture revelations and the spying stuff coming out in the last year helped Scottie decide to throw them under the bus…
Not that I think anyone should buy a copy. Often library policy dictates that the library buys bestselling books, regardless of whether it’s trash or not. I think I would browse, but not check out. (too many patrons checking out the book will force the library to buy more copies.)
Hush!
sell books to Lefties
bwahahaha! I’m guessing it is not going to be as pornographic as reading A.Coultergeist. I’ll wait for the library to get it.
Nora O’Donnell just interviewed Ari Fleischer on MSNBC. It was a pathetic interview. Ari was adhering to the narrative that “this isn’t the Scott McClellen that I know” and good ‘ole Nora let him get away with nothing but BS. These people are such tools for the Bush administration.
I can envision it in Barnes and Nobels. I think it will be considered a clusterf*ck apostate book, rather than pure nutwing.
y’all are cracking me up
Even though I nibbled at one yesterday (my bad), I’m urging that we only entertain comments that forward useful conversations between conscientious participants…
In other words, when and if they arrive, starve them – they will eventually seek sustenance elsewhere.
do.not.feed.
Some of us can control ourselves better than others.
[claps hand over mouth, tries to type with one hand…]
You win. No prize. You just win.
Well, let’s beam up the new Scottie to a warm and hearty FDL vegan potluck asap!
Nora is now talking with Chris Cilliza. She actually sounds like she is stunned that McClellen said that there was a sophisticated propaganda plan developed to promote the war. Hello, Nora…I know you don’t talk about it on Cable but remember the military analyst story? Ur…wasn’t that propaganda? Good grief.
I wonder if Conyers has put off Rove’s invite date until July 10 in order to bring up some juicy bits closer to November? Or is he, too, just running out the clock?
Ha Ha.
* “What I do know is that war should only be waged when necessary, and the Iraq war was not necessary.”
* Bush was “clearly irritated, … steamed,” when McClellan informed him that chief economic adviser Larry Lindsey had told The Wall Street Journal that a possible war in Iraq could cost from $100 billion to $200 billion: “‘It’s unacceptable,’ Bush continued, his voice rising. ‘He shouldn’t be talking about that.’”
* “But the top White House officials who knew the truth — including Rove, Libby and possibly Vice President Cheney — allowed me, even encouraged me, to repeat a lie.”
* after Hurricane Katrina, the White House “spent most of the first week in a state of denial,” and he blames Rove for suggesting the photo of the president comfortably observing the disaster during an Air Force One flyover.
* “The collapse of the administration’s rationales for war, which became apparent months after our invasion, should never have come as such a surprise. … In this case, the ‘liberal media’ didn’t live up to its reputation. If it had, the country would have been better served.”
not even a book or something? :~)

hi — out walkin’ the dogs, so this is late replying, but yes…Walsh was about the time we switched channels.
There is a noticeable Hillary-women campaign going on right now…embedded in various media, including the two-fer [so far] over at HuffPo.
If they thought they’re screediness was going to be persuasive…wrong-o.
Oh, and anyone wanna join my scarved women for Rachel Ray campaign…as long as we’ve really sunk to the silly season.
whoop dee doo
wow..they have the vapors over on MSNBC (norah and friends). Someone get the smelling salts.
LOL. I saw that! Unfrickingbelievable!
I’m not a Rachel Ray fan exactly but my daughter loves her to pieces. I’ve got a perfect fringy scarf and will wear it with pride. Along with a Buffalo Bill fringe jacket!
sheesh.
thanks for writing. I’m not sure if I got tagged as a troll for my “shriek” remark or not. gtg anyway.
Don’t start.
Really, why let a thread degenerate into this *wink, wink* BS? I suppose you are supposing that a Clinton supporter would start shrieking. And that’s kinda funny./snark. It’s also divisive. Why not find common ground with fellow progressive, because we do share common ground ( I like to think), regardless of whoever one is supporting for the duration of the primary?
McCain was rattling off various specific earmarks that he found particularly outrageous on the teevee today…methinks we need a compiled list of where and how much the good Senator steered to those in his bundler/lobbyist circle.
BT, I take your point about native Texans, after all, ND did send you Dick Armey. Maybe it’s something about the outsizedness of Texas that lures in all these little
di-, er, cultlaws….LS I just copied your comment and put in in one of the discussions at the Venuzuelan Gold Stock Crystallx Hugo has canceled the permit to mine their and nobody has known why once again the Lake has the information.
Maybe to late to help me on this stock but my gambling money was meant to be thrown away once a year.

Poor Rachel – now she can’t fix any hummus, falafel, ful, tabouleh, labaneh or baba ghanoush anymore without an uproar. Where do these idiots come from?
Norah probably just had to take a pee – her mind was on other things.
or buy it for your library, take the tax write-off…
How about a kitteh? I imagine I could find a nice little stray for ya.
Harvard MBA?
Yum, fuul! With olive oil and lemon juice on top! Want now!
DD pulled the ad.
No just wait and see how the book does, because the library will have to buy it anyway if that’s what policy dictates
A hard-refresh will solve a few duplication problems. Thanks.
Just now Nice Polite Republicans’ “News and Notes” had two guests on regarding McClellan’s book.
The first talked of the book as the “ultimate act of betrayal”.
The second – Mary Francis Berry – was chair of the Pacifica Radio Board. There she was active in the effort to sell off Pacifica’s radio stations to private media. She was chair when armed guards shut down KPFA, acting in accordance with the Board’s attempted takeover.
As an exemplar of betrayal, Berry was a perfect ornament for the hatchet job. As obedient servants of Power, News and Notes (along with NPR) are perfect venues.
I switched them all off as soon as Berry began to speak.
No need to make space for those who protect the master’s house with the master’s tools.
Or for the tools.
Hard at it today I see.
Divisive indeed.
As much as I have enjoyed coming here, I’m really considering Not.
Yesterday, I copied a link.
People I thought I knew as nice people were snarky, divisive and some of them even elitist.
It seems that sometimes it’s more important to part of The Circle than to consider the possibility that there might be another way to view things, or if not, to be considerate.
I’m really looking at the threads and what Jane says and how long time commenters here diss even Jane.
Sad, very sad.
I considered going to a moveon.org even today, but decided against it. It was an event to show people how close McCain and Bush are in their view and agenda and after what I’ve experienced here recently, I think people are going with ther guts and totally ignoring facts, so, it doesn’t matter.
I might as well go join a bowling league.
This is slightly OT but interesting. Who was responsible for Colin Powell’s false presentation to the UN? It was one of James and Mary Matalin’s best friend. convicted felon Scooter (irving) Libby. Even in Indiana Powell has to deal with
the anti-war riff raff.
Jeebus deliver me. CNN is on the flag pin thing again. And Obama’s youthful schooling overseas.
Froomkin is on with Schuster right now. MSNBC
lolol
GREAT POST, David, you outdo yourself!
I’m in hysterics today with all of this. It can’t GET any funnier,
or can it?
look to November.
lolol
Don’t go demi. I have been around since I don’t know, ok, the Alito debacle. It’s sad to see good people come and go when they feel ganged up on, or out of the so-called in-crowd. Weirdly it’s often women that leave and the men stay, even if the women have been around a long time (my observation may be wrong, but that’s how I see it) So assert your yin (female) side and support Jane and other women that dare to disagree and the issues that give us common ground. Please, don’t go because you feel ganged up on. It’s a turn off, I know.
sorrry, BT.
i’m trying to catch up here.
this was the post, the referenced writer is what i got wrong!
GREAT POST BT!
way funny.
thanks,
and sorry.
You mean with the minimally trained eye the wingnuts that are guests as well as 95% of the media.
Could it be any more obvious that the media is on the payroll – or whatever sick twisted stuff is going on?
At least now that its getting later in the day some of the “journalists” are stepping it up.
Finally MSNBC anchor (Scheuster? 4pm ET), and likly Matthews, and certainly Olberman will laugh in the face of these guys.
FXCING LIARS. All the FXKING roaches coming out of the wood work.
God, is the country going to go in the shitter or what.
Re: Fitz.
His investigation is inactive but could be started up at any time for new evidence. However, I don’t think anything here really qualifies as new evidence. The only thing new that McClellan brings up is that Libby and Rove had some sort of meeting that MIGHT have been nefarious. That’s not enough to haul someone in front of the grand jury. As Rove pointed out, he and Libby were high-level aides together, so it is unsurprising that they would have a meeting from time to time. The only way this information could be relevant is if either Libby or Rove was dumb enough to tell the grand jury that they never had any one-on-one meetings. We’ve got all of Libby’s grand jury testimony (it was all played at the trial), and I don’t think he says any such thing. So unless Rove is dumb enough to have said something to that effect, this doesn’t change anything.
Next up – looking if P Fitz was too soft. He certainly was.
What is Pat going to say? Correct me if I am wrong but there is still a dark cloud, and clown boy just said there was consiracy and propaganda. I know the King thinks he can do any of this – but in reality this and many other moves are illegal.
We all know what going to happen – other than the continuation of the most massive transfer of wealth in history…NOTHING.
The only way this information could be relevant is if either Libby or Rove was dumb enough to tell the grand jury that they never had any one-on-one meetings.
Yep. And who’s to say that when TB called Scoots into his office that it was just them?
Nothing firm here. Yet.
and of course since the press already covered that little chesnut that we are living under criminal most of them find no need to go into any details. Yea, coup and crimes we mentioned that once so we don’t need to talk about it.
Lets talk about his motivation. Lets talk about his book deal. LOOK AT THE FXN CONTENT. He is a FXN Texas Bush crony.
You know history can judge however they will – these people will not have to give up one dime they stole, one bite of steak, one sip of their $500 bottle wine…one wounded Vet that does not get a new GI Bill…THEY DON”T CARE. People with money will write the only part of history that matters (at least in a timely fashion).
The shrub WH is a cult.
- actually its an oligarchy at best
Its in their own interest to drink the kool-aid
You don’t need to follow the Bushtards to know all about this demonize-the-messenger defense. Nothing original about it. It was devised yonks ago as the standard rebuttal by corporations sued by their former employees. Disgruntled, liar, failure, inept, angry retribution, trouble maker. All right off page one of the playbook. The only epithet the reichwing has left out so far is to call Scott a unionizer. I’m sure they’ll get.
Wow. You have the guts to say what I’ve been thinking for a while.
Maybe it’s the Guys here who should go join a Bowling League.
Let’s not forget (as everyone else has) that all the “relevent” emails from this entire 5 year period are “gone”. And they are not going to bother to look for them.
Yeah, oh well. 9/11, the wars, plame…all gone.
He does say that there is something he won’t discuss. Maybe that is an invitation from Scottie to Fitz to talk to him…he also told Fleisher, yesterday, that he could not have written this book one year ago…Fleisher is assuming “something” happened or came up since then. Scottie knows something.
I think so. I have just been grateful that the talk of sports has been quashed. But there are interesting studies of gender and blogs/newsgroups(academic, Computer mediated studies). Verdict: women often get the short end of the stick. it sucks that we women have to keep those bias tactics that are entrenched in society in mind when we debate, but go on girl, and dont go Demi!
Thanks for your encouragement.
I’ve been thinking lately of that line from Team America
Ha!
Short end of the stick? Ha Ha. If only….
We’d be lucky.
Now going into night they are going with “this is not Scott” and “traitor / Benedict Arnold”.
Tweety is going to bash them right now.
How is the traitor, once things are inverted its all over. Is the one telling the truth about what these traitors did going to be the one labeled a traitor?
Acorrding to David Gregory everything was all good with the reporting.
He had good fun dancing with MC Rove.
Agreed. He knows something. Idle speculation this point as to what that something might be. It could be as siple as knowing that the tide is going out on rightwing Republicans in Texas and maybe he’s simply staking a claim to the progressive end of the party, if such a mythical beast exists. It maybe his mom, who didn’t get the support she expected when she ran for Gov. Or it may be some threat that he knows can’t be executed against him any more, but has pissed him off plenty.
Thinking about a post higher upthread, it is curious that Paul O’Neil dropped out of sight. He said he was immune from blackmail on the grounds of old age and wealth, but maybe they had something on him. He shut up, that’s for sure.
Rove never took any prisoners. It’s going to get back to him, sooner I think rather than later.
“Democratic Imperialism?” Jefferson and Washington warned us all!!!

“Harmony, liberal intercourse with all nations, are recommended by policy, humanity, and interest. But even our commercial policy should hold an equal and impartial hand; neither seeking nor granting exclusive favors or preferences; consulting the natural course of things; diffusing and diversifying by gentle means the streams of commerce, but forcing nothing; establishing (with powers so disposed, in order to give trade a stable course, to define the rights of our merchants, and to enable the government to support them) conventional rules of intercourse, the best that present circumstances and mutual opinion will permit, but temporary, and liable to be from time to time abandoned or varied, as experience and circumstances shall dictate; constantly keeping in view that it is folly in one nation to look for disinterested favors from another; that it must pay with a portion of its independence for whatever it may accept under that character; that, by such acceptance, it may place itself in the condition of having given equivalents for nominal favors, and yet of being reproached with ingratitude for not giving more. There can be no greater error than to expect or calculate upon real favors from nation to nation. It is an illusion, which experience must cure, which a just pride ought to discard.”
