"Every nation has its war party. It is not the party of democracy. It is the party of autocracy. It seeks to dominate absolutely. It is commercial, imperialistic, ruthless. It tolerates no opposition. It is just as arrogant, just as despotic, in London, or in Washington, as in Berlin. The American Jingo is twin to the German Junker…. If there is no sufficient reason for war, the war party will make war on one pretext, then invent another."
–Robert M. La Follette
Which brings us to St. McCain.
September 2002: "Success in Iraq will be fairly easy."
And this is but one of many such predictions and proclamations over the years:
March 20, 2003: “But I believe, Katie, that the Iraqi people will greet us as liberators.”
April 9, 2003: “It’s clear that the end is very much in sight.”
April 23, 2003: “There’s not a history of clashes that are violent between Sunnis and Shiahs. So I think they can probably get along.”
December 12, 2003: “This is a mission accomplished. They know how much influence Saddam Hussein had on the Iraqi people, how much more difficult it made to get their cooperation.”
March 7, 2004: “I’m confident we’re on the right course.”
October 31, 2004: "I think the initial phases of it were so spectacularly successful that it took us all by surprise.”
December 8, 2005: “I do think that progress is being made in a lot of Iraq. Overall, I think a year from now, we will have made a fair amount of progress if we stay the course. If I thought we weren’t making progress, I’d be despondent.”
January 4, 2007: Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) claimed that he knew the Iraq war was “probably going to be long and hard and tough,” and that he was “sorry” for those who voted for the war believing it would be “some kind of an easy task.”
August 18, 2007: It’s entertaining, in that I was the greatest critic of the initial four years, three and a half years. I came back from my first trip to Iraq and said, This is going to fail. We’ve got to change the strategy to the one we’re using now. But life isn’t fair.
January 4, 2008: We’ll stay 100 years.
January 4, 2008 (later): Make it a thousand, no… A MILLION!
May 15, 2008: Okay, okay, make me President and we’ll be leaving by 2013, when have I ever been wrong before?
May 27, 2008: "I will never surrender in Iraq, my friends, I will never surrender in Iraq." (to protesters demanding "End this War!") So ending the war means "surrender"…at least until 2013.
And this doesn’t even approach the many justifications of "why" we are there from WMD’s to Democracy to fighting them there so they won’t swim over here.
We should have listened to Fightin’ Bob La Follette — but we never do.

1,855 DAYZ AND THE KILLIN’ GOEZ ON AND ON AND…
Citizen Attaturk and the Firepup freedom Fighters:
All the “War Parties” are made up of decendants of the same fuckin’ families that started the shit at the founding of the country, no matter what country…right here in the USofA we have the best example of a seemingly ageless oligarchy made up of families and decendants of families like the Pierce family(Barbara Bush), the Rockefellers, the Bushes, the Mellons etc, etc… sigh and the beat goes on
KEEP THE FAITH AND PASS THE AMMUNITION, THIS TIME WE’RE GUNNA PUT ‘EM OUTTA BUSUNESS!!
swines
Mornin’, pups -
Attaturk -
That La Follette quote is breathtaking! Thankee for the introduction; interesting info on him upon consultation with teh google.
Amazing that Wisconsin produced him and Tailgunner Joe.
1,855 DAYZ AND THE KILLIN’ GOEZ ON AND ON AND…
Citizen Raven and the Firepup Freedom Fighters:
Het there brother Rave, how’s the pup…i LOVE me some Cocker Spanials but only those that have been raised right and have the attention and room ta move that those dogs need. I got a Westhighland Terrier last July when he was 15 weeks old and the oldest in the kennel…I don’t know what posessed me but I was missin’ my real dog (a Golden I had ta give up ‘cuz we moved temporarialy ta a condo that didn’t allow big dogs)…I’ve never had a real affinity fer the terriers (my son calls ‘em barkin’ rats) but this one is the best dog I’ve ever lived with. 20 pounds, thinks he’s a real dog and doesn’t know from big…and he doesn’t bark (I desensitized his barkin’ by sprayin ‘im with a squeeze bottle a H2O, it took 3 days)except when there’s a real emergency (like a bunny or a squirrel runnin accross HIS deck)…he’s my buddy and he takes care a Mrs. Norske when I’m at work.
I give ‘im a bath in oatmeal moistirizing shampoo and he gets Vitamin E and D with fish oil for the exzema and he’s doin fine…hope yers is comin’ around with the skin problems. Does yers ever get ta hit the water?
KEEP THE FAITH AND PASS THE AMMUNITION, ALL THEY GOT IS OUR MONEY AND THEY’VE ABOUT LOST ALL THAT NOW!!
The war party of the current United States certainly fits La Follette’s pattern, but they have a bizarre and difficult-to-explain affinity for right-wing Zionism. Go figure.
Good morning all. Thanks for the ammo Attaturk.
Please keep pounding on this crazy, feeble puppet. The thought of this lunatic becoming president scares the shit out of me.
Mr.Cbl
As a native Minnesotan who has only lived in Cheesland here fer 27 years, I’m constantly amazed at the contradictions and real distinctions of the real folks in this state. I’ve lived here in this little burge fer 27 years so the natives figure I’m still “jest visiting” but they tolerate me ‘cuz my wife goes back 3 generations. It’s a strange brand of real workin class populism that ken border on No Nothing prairie fascism especially around issues of race but these folks always seem ta find their legs before they plunge over the cliff…witness Russ Finegold.
I love the midwest.
I always had big dogs too. I moved down here with Ralph and Henry, 75 lb shepherd collies that were father and son. When Mrs Raven and I were just getting started she brought Raven home from her folks place in VA where they had raised cockers for generations. I was sort of ambivalent but we were ho t and heavy so I was game. Now she had had several cockers that had “issues” like running away and getting run over so it was up to me to mold this little dude. Man, what a great dog. Here’s my little movie about him and the Bodhi. It’s confusing because we actually called Raven boo-boo and we still call each other Mr and Mrs boo boo. Too much info, well maybe we should talk about. . . never mind, you managed to not be here for yesterday’s bbq in the morning.
Yea, try moving to Georgia from Illinois. I tell em, “I’m not from Georgia but I got here as soon as I could”!
Looks like mika is subbing for scar this morning……guess he’s PO’d that he doesn’t get to nail scotty to the wall today. Quel dommage. *g* The rest of ‘em are doin’ a pretty good job in his stead.
mica sez “They (the administration) blocked us out.”
Where’s a barf bag when ya need one?
Imus is on it like a cheap suit!
Tell! Tell! I don’t think he’s available on sat and wouldn’t watch if he were. (Can you tell I carry long grudges?) *g* Don’t usually watch scar and will hit the clicker shortly.
Morning all. :)
The gift that is McCains’ own mouth is the gift that just keeps on giving…..
p.s. Duggggggg :)
And FWIW:
– There are currently 286 uncommitted delegates.
– Obama needs 48 more to reach a majority.
– Clinton needs more than five times that many, specifically 246.
– There’s a meeting of the Rules and Bylaws Committee on Saturday at which Clinton will press for a change of rules.
– Within a week, most of the 110 delegates from PR, SD, and MT will will be allocated by primaries (PR on Sunday, and SD and MT on Tuesday).
He’s on the world wide internet and even a radio station in the ATL. He had Dick Gregory on for an hour yesterday.
Morning all. Is it safe here this morning? Yesterday there was a little rough water in the lake, some folks were getting a little fiesty like the FUCKING PRESS CORPS should have been with the bushco bullshit. As for McLellan coming out now saying all the bushco propaganda was lies is a little too bloody late. what a piece of shit he is.
— Sharon Stone’s “karma” comment is having an instant effect on her movie-star status in China.
Actress Sharon Stone suggested last week that the May 12 earthquake could have been the result of bad karma.
The 50-year-old actress suggested last week that the devastating May 12 earthquake in China could have been the result of bad karma over the government’s treatment of Tibet. That prompted the founder of one of China’s biggest cinema chains to say his company would not show her films in his theaters, according to a story in The Hollywood Reporter.
I’ll get testy every time someone comes up with that kind of bullshit. Ok by you?
Is she still around? I thought she had gone back to chappaqua to prepare for her next job as assistant secretary to the ambassador to kazakstan… what a dipshit.
Fine by me, you did well in the rough waters.
It did not make for a cheery day.
She claims that she’ll fight it on the floor of the Convention if that’s the only way she can win. The Clinton motto: “Show me a good loser, and I’ll show you a loser.”
Morning everyone. I’m seldom here anymore. Family commitments are preventing me from doing much more than checking in at the lake. Miss you all.
Good Morning Attaturk and Firedogs -
May I play through ? as titular heads of the Party, Bill and Hillary Clinton have presided over those rules for 16 years and in fact stratergized her craptacular campaign within the framework of said rules . . .
hope everyone saw the young man from Illinois has been ‘banking’ superdels – 2-3 dozen of which will publicly endorse him 6/4-6/5 .
Family before FDL… good lawd! We miss you too. Keep those typing fingers in shape though as there are elections right around the corner (well in five months or so) and there will probably be another illegal bombing/invasion within the next month or two. Lots to write about.
Why not today and put that damn clinton dame out of our misery.
The Iran story is frightening. I’d like to hear another round of impeachment threats before it’s too late.
With Iran on the table there is no room for impeachment unless we get a bigger table. Sorry.
when I was growing up there was a dangerous fad going around, it was called “the punk test”
you rubbed your skin softly all day in the same spot, soon your nerves became numb and your skin started to wear away
whith this numbness you would also apply more pressure
so you were left with a scar on your forarm and this proved you were not “a punk”…in fact, the joke was on you, if you did it then you were really the punk but we didn’t realize that till we grew up
it was addicting too, once a person did it they usually did the other arm as well
this president is our punk test, we could never put up with what he has done if not for the relentless litany of huberous
and we are all punks that he remains in office
I would like everyone to think back to the build up of our attack in Iraq
it was very grave, people were afraid of war and we all hoped it wouldn’t happen, even the republicans were hoping it wouldn’t happen
it was a differant time where we abhored even the thought of war
yet now with Iran it seems everyone is resolved, “the president will do what the president will do”
we have a king
1,855 DAYZ AND THE KILLIN’ GOEZ ON AND ON AND…
Citizens Raven and nomolos:
Shit, I always miss the firefights except when I’m the RTO in the squade that’s gettin’ ambushed…what the hell happened and which post was it yesterday so’s I ken catchup? I got my jock twisted up yesterday with Sister Hamsher’s supplication ta “be nice” ta Mrs. M*Clinton ‘cuz her bots might vote fer McCrazy but I musta missed the big show earlier. Which post was it so’s I ken catchup?
KEEP THE FAITH AND PASS THE AMMUNITION, SOME FOLKS GOTTA LEARN HOW TA DUKE IT OUT AND THEN MOVE ON TAGETHER!!
the threat of impeachment has to come from republicans and Nancy pelosi
otherwise it just looks like a shitzu barking like “you better watch out for me”
The lives of hundreds of thousands of innocent people are in the hands of fancynancy, only she can stop this fucking madman. And if that is not a sorry bloody state of affairs I do not know what is.
Good morning, pups. It’s MoDo and Friedman. MoDo asks “Can He Take a Frisk?” She says Barack Obama knows that he is left with one final roll of the dice. So, he sets up a secret meeting with Bill Clinton. (She has a rich and full fantasy life, our MoDo does…) Mr. Friedman has a question about “Truth or Consequences:” what would a mythical, truth-telling presidential candidate say about the best energy policy for America?
http://mgpaquin.wordpress.com/
The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready, and I’ve got lemon poppyseed muffins today. On a somewhat hopeful note some folks down here think Bob Barr may put Georgia into play in the election. Have a great day.
if she waits till “Iran is attacked” that will be too late, the president will declare martial law and suspend congress, he will declare their impeachment has no weight
does she not get this?
Is Imus on teevee anywhere, or is it just radio?
1,855 DAYZ AND THE KILLIN’ GOEZ ON AND ON AND…
Citizen perris:
Are you fergettin’ that Biden called the administration out on Friday or Saturday and said that he’d ask the judiciary committee ta start their side of an impeachment inquiry if the Chimpenfeuherer attacked Iran?
We’d get ‘em all ta Leavenworth if they cut loose on Tehan.
KEEP THE FAITH AND PASS THE AMMUNITION, SOMETIMES YESTERDAY’S POLITICIANS WAKE UP IRRELEVANT TODAY!!
actually that’s what I’m referring too, that is far too late
once the president attacks Iran there can be no impeachment, he will declare martial law if he even sniffs the threat
it’s got to happen before the attack
She is part of the MIC. She (her family) makes major money when this country goes a killin’. I am sure she does not give one moments thought of anything but personal gain…. just like a good gooper should.
On the bright side, it’s a good thing that,
against Scott Mcclellan’s advice,
the Decider decided to invade Iraq,
freeing its athletes from the brutal political
interference of Uday Hussein.
Oh, wait.
more, better domcrats
we must reclaim this country
On the reasons why we went to Iraq, McClellan has a new book…
http://www.washingtonpost.com/…..id=topnews
They would have to be shamed into impeachment. But it seems like they have no shame, so that might be tricky.
Bassackwards! The time to start the impeachment is now. Bush already has the precedent of Iraq to which Congress has yet to oppose.
The only way to stop him is to start an impeachment inquiry NOW. Once he has attacked, we are at war and a serious one. At such times, the powers of the Executive branch are at their highest.
And McCain was just on the radio getting applause for saying we are going to win in Iraq!
At this point, I wonder what they mean by win. I know they never had any idea what that meant, but it seems even vaguer now.
the president does not care one shit if the country explodes
he wants unrest, he invites civil war
do you think for one minute those sentiments are specifically for the middle east?
think twice, he is inviting it
The trouble is that that someone has to stop this madman now, not after he has attacked yet another country. He is truly and certifiably nuts, he should be locked up in an institution… not just impeached. He is a dangerous megalomaniac
When a rat deserts a sinking ship he is still a rat
watching a scar-less (i.e. tolerable) Morning Joe: Scotty is obviously a bitter, vindictive and quite possibly delusional man…
Win what? There’s nothing there to win. When we withdrew from Vietnam, we stopped losing. We stopped losing both blood and treasure. Withdrawing from Iraq would have the same fine effect.
this now is an epiphane firdogs
I propose the president is iniviting civil war here in the states, his politics were indeed specifically designed to create the great divide and everthing he says and does is to that end
prepare for onother “shock”, and another therapuetic session…visited upon the united states of america
what would have the finest effect would be to allow the criminals that visited this death and destruction on the middle east tried in those venues for their crimes of depravity, war, murder, pillage, plunder
Citizens nomolos, perris and wigwam:
Yeah yeah…you folks are right but the old politics says send an opposition old bear out ta growl ta warn ‘em off. I think yer all correct, however, and all that’s between us and a generalized war in the ME is a couple a well placed Generals or an Admiral er two…shit are there any real soldiers left in the General Staff?
And Pelosi should be tried for war crimes under the Yamashita precedent of the doctrine of command responsibility. She is enabling Bush’s continued war crimes by blocking our only constitutional avenue for stopping him.
there are those that desert sinking ships who are not rats
and there are once rats who seek redemption, they can at times have it
scotty is calling the president out, do you think this does not present danger for himself and his family?
of course he might have done this before the damage was done but he did not
he might save us from Iran with his new found integrity
and yes, a man can reclaim is integrity, this might be one such man
relax and see where it goes before you condemn what he is doing here
right now I am saying what scotty is doing is heroic
if he stays on this course he is risking his life and his families life
let’s see where it goes, a man can indeed reclaim his integrity
Exactly. What are we supposed to win? They use to throw out reasons, like “as they stand up, we’ll stand down”, but they don’t even bother with that stuff anymore. We’re just there to win! At all costs! It’s all so empty.
Anyone know what McClellan said about Bush and cocaine?
Let’s see how much damage this book does to the WH. I doubt it will get calls for impeachment back into the conversation, so what’s it going to do, lower Bush’s approval rating?
a question we all need to start asking the president and the republicans;
“when did the goal of in Iraq become staying in Iraq?”
In the WaPo article, it said that Bush believed his own lies and that he once heard him on the phone saying that he didn’t remember if he had ever done cocaine or not, and McClellan thought, how could that be?
I have no idea what kind of damage the book will do but be certain, this is no small risk from scotty, no small risk at all
That’s not the goal. The goal is winning.
the term is “pathological liar”
which insinuates that once a person tells a lie that lie becomes the living truth to that person
I do not believe the president is a pathological liar, I believe he knows he is lying
to them, “winning” means they can have endless war
the goal is staying because that provideds their endless war and gives them the only win they are looking for
Attaturk,
Grandpa cbl often cited Fightin’ LaFollette in arguments with friends (when he wasn’t quoting John L Lewis) – I’m sure he thought of himself as just a regular lunchpail Dem – he’d be shocked to learn he was dfh
and yes, a man can reclaim is integrity, this might be one such man
relax and see where it goes before you condemn what he is doing here…
If nothing else, he seems to have delivered one giant kick in the nuts to the WH, which as yet has had no response, and David Gregory reported that no response is expected yet today. They’re gonna have to deal with the Scotty issue with some finesse and delicacy, obviously new and different concepts to this administration.
As to the issue of regaining integrity, it would seem to me that he has at least made a fine start.
I don’t think even they have that clear of an idea about what winning means.
they do
their idea of winning is endless war, they are war profiteers, they are war monguers and when there is war they are winning
they do indeed know what winning is to them, though they would never say it out loud
that would explain the Scott is a stoopit, clueless turncoat meme that’s out there this morning – dear gaia, did Barnancle just wipe some Cheney off his chin on camera ??
Right. We’re there to win “VICTORY.” To show everyone that “We’re Number One!” Yay Team!
Well, he’s a total scumbag so lying would be a part of that. Of course, he’s a lying sack of shit.
I figure he had a strict father and was always getting in trouble, so he got good at lying about stuff to his dad. It’s not too different now. Most of his lies, if not all of them, are him covering up his incompetence or bad behavior.
He’s on RFD tv.
Memo to McCain: Okay, so declare victory already (again?, didn’t Bush already do that with “Mission Accomplished”?) and let us get the hell out of there.
Thanks for the list of quotes, Attaturk. They should be in a newspaper ad nationally.
scotty needs me as HIS press secretary, I would answer;
“If they think I am a turncoat in pointing out the treason of our president, they have their loyalty in the wrong place”
or something that will make them rue the day they thought to critisize what the man for calling the president out
HOW THE HELL can they call a man a “turn coat” who exposes treason without even asking if what he is saying is true
they are calling him a turncoat even if what he is saying is true and that makes them traitors
Timmeh blows off the “the country would have been better served if the ‘liberal media’ had done its job” by saying “the questions were asked, we gotta look at the answers that were given”.
Yeah, Timmeh was a regular bulldog pre-invasion as I recall.
See this comment #6
Sorry OT, but strider? over in emptywheels salon* (sorry if misspelled your name Stider) posted this link (Thanks) and there’s a lot of little nuggetty things in it..
Question?
Could the FBI criminial investigation have started re; Bolton’s illegal wiretaping of the UN and others???
I have always wondered if the reason Bush played so hard to get John Bolton into the ‘Diplomatic Core’ was so he would have;
1. Diplomatic immunity.
2. Easy way to stay close to the ‘people’ you knew ’stuff’ about….Easier to work your ‘magic’ that way…
‘Edmonds mentioned in an interview last spring that the FBI’s targeting of US officials began after surveillance of foreign diplomats in the US exposed criminal activity involving Americans, leading to parallel investigations.’
She starts talking about it at around 17:30 in the video clip:
http://www.hairenik.com/Hairen…..Clip65.htm
http://turcopolier.typepad.com…..nds-2.html
Hmmmm, we should look far closer at Mr Bolton and associates/friends/family. I’m sure there are some really interesting connections… And in light of current world affairs! the more connections we drag into the light, the faster the wheels of Justice roll..
So, if the MAJOR players and their lawyers/spokedroids are too busy trying to lose/dodge/CTA connections/associates to other interesting folks, they will be less able to blow the world up…
Time to start pulling all the people/connections together and light the way. :)
again, a man can reclaim his integrity
as far as “good at lying”, sorry, he always looked like he was battling his own concience when he was the press secretary
he was never “good at lying”
I am going to hope he is trying to do something good here and at the very least, he has
give him time, I might agree with you in the end but you might agree with me
this book might indeed prevent war in Iran, do not forget this
also do not forget he is the only press secretary to tell it like it really was…this does not make him a “lying sac of shit”
sometimes a hero arises from the most obscure place, this might be a hero
let’s pray I am right though I fear you are
I’m not sure about that. I’m sure there are some people, especially the powerful lobbyists in the military industrial complex that are all about that notion, and some probably believe that it will benefit America. But I think that it’s dangerous to ascribe too much competence to Bush and his crew. They screwed up Iraq like they screwed up everything else – because they make bad decisions based on their hubristic notions of power in the world and prejudices and fear, and not on facts. That’s incompetence to a criminal degree. It makes no sense to say that this mess in Iraq was done on purpose. It gives them too much credit. They would have to be so good at their jobs to accomplish that.
Bah hahahahahaha! Great post, Attaturk. ;-)
much gnashing of teeth from Mika as well. She is one unhappy woman this morning.
We can’t declare victory yet; that would end the war. But we’re now having lots of success to brag about. And that success, if we get enough more of it, will eventually turn into “victory.” But, it’ll be a long, hard, difficult, and expensive struggle. A real test of this nation’s fortitude. Let’s show ‘em what we’re made of.
I meant Bush, not McClellan. Bush was the lying sack of shit. McClellan was doing his job, working for liars, who by all accounts left him out of the discussions and just told him what to say.
Bush already redeemed himself when he “saw God” and became born again, redeeming himself from years of cocaine and alcohol abuse, and from mismanaging all the companies he ran. Remember, it was God who told him to invade Iraq.
war profiteers know no country, they have allegience to the side they believe will win, they will change sides when they know they have their allegience to the bad of it
they knew with no doubt this would be the result, they were informed, they had anyone who made it part of the record what would happen fired, this was indeed the intention
rumsfeld litarally let the army go with their ordinance, millions of men without jobs and with weapons
excuse me, though he is indeed a moron this was not unintentional
I give them no credit, they are all maniacal morons
their incompetance is realized in how little they knew we would find them out and how little they knew about the people of Iraq not just rolling over and giving them their treasure
but they got the american complacency right, even though we know the extent of their crimes we invite more of the same
I blame nancy
Last night Anderson Cooper in his segway called McClellan’s statement that George Bush used propaganda to sell the war…as “a bombshell”. I said to myself, “Wha? Are you serious? We liberals have been saying this for years and now all of a sudden the media is saying this is a bombshell? Oh please!”.
Stupid assholes they (the Bush Regime media) all are.
That “liberal media” business just pisses me off beyond belief………the republics will cherry pick that *one* sentence and claim it’s all the fault of the LIBERALS because they didn’t ask questions! Spit! Double spit! and every other expletive in the book!
The media was told right after 9/11/01 by Ari Fleischer, “Be careful what you say”, and the media responded with, “Okay, we will. Tell us what you want us to report”. Spit.
gods name to bush is PEEnas
[PEEnas is the phonetic spelling of the sick and maniacal fraternity who spell it PNAC]
bush’s god is PEEnas
“Liberal media” = Republican Owned Media used by a republican White House to get the propaganda out
RFD-TV – regretted losing it when we switched back to cable – use to call it Mr Cbl’s Tractor Porn channel :D
and did everyone see Rove blame Scott’s disclosures on the nefarious influence of Lefty Blogs ? gawd he’s lazy
the media complaigning that the “media is liberal” is the same thing as that wolf dressed as a sheep shouting out, “watch out for the wolf”
the trick works on sheep and idiots
Someone needs to ask John McCain, “When George Bush stood on the aircraft carrier with the sign behind him, “Mission Accomplished”, isn’t it safe to say that we reached victory that day and since that time, we’ve been illegally occupying Iraq?”.
I would ask Johnny that.
Yep.
Sheeps & Idiots = Those Who Support George Bush
;-)
Well, ya gotta feel good for Anderson Cooper. Must have been a bitch keeping his head buried
up his assin the sand for all of these years.Hey, A.C. That odd sensation and smell? That’s fresh air, buddy.
Typical liberal blogger question. I prefer to know what kind of hot dogs he is serving.
this from rove was actually interesting, I believe rove might be the only neo con who is reading “lefty blogs”
the only mistake rove makes is calling them “lefty”, they are not left they are center, they are the majority of this country
otherwise, he gets it right, scotty does sound like the majority of this country right now
*We* know that but, to take perris @ 95 one step further, it would appear some huge portion of this country falls in the forking sheep/idiot category.
I don’t agree. They can’t be morons and so good at what they do. They can be smart and be wrong. Look at Cheney who looks at the world with such paranoia that it drives his every move. It’s not a good view, or a factual view, to be governing from.
Sure, there is this military industrial lobby that wants constant war, because it makes them loads of money. President Bush was just much more willing to let them run him than past Presidents.
it is pretty simple to show these sheep the truth, though they are reluctant they usually have to agree;
where once the media was owned by legions of diverse interest groups, now it is owned by 5 corporations
they absolutely must have a corporate agenda and they no longer have to compete for accuracy where before they could not have a corporate agenda and did have to compete for accuracy
sometimes the corporate agenda does indeed look “liberal” when that serves their purpose and sometimes it is indeed “concervative” when that serves it’s purpose
this point cannot be denied, from there it is only a stones throw away to show most times the corporate agenda is also the concervative agenda not liberal
works most times
I do not believe they did anything well that a moron couldn’t do
it doesn’t take more then a moron to frig things up, it takes more then a moron to build things
they frigged things up, this does not take anything more then depravity
David Axelrod on now saying that the Obama campaign doesn’t consider Scotty’s book all that newsworthy to the extent that it says that we were lied into war. Old news, iow.
He has a point. Scotty trashed the current administration, not all that helpful to Obama in the campaign, except to the extent that they can continue to tie McSame to Bush and his cadre of criminals.
Wasn’t there some mention of john bolton upthread?
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/new…..tival.html
heh…heh…heh
Morning Attaturk!
Great compilation of McCain’s straight talkin’ on Iraq, bookmarked it because this will be very useful as the campaign goes on.
I cannot stand pork hot dogs, must be all beef, the kind that spit at you when you bite into them, with wrinkles on the skin and they snap like an apple on that first bite

1,855 DAYZ AND THE KILLIN’ GOEZ ON AND ON AND…
Citizen Raven and any other vets who were attacked yesterday by one SanderO:
I am terribly sorry I wasn’t here yesterday mornin…I jest read the posting that generated the GI’s as “…not heros but war criminals…all of them.” I didn’t bail on you folks Raven et al, I simply had ta sleep for a few hours. This whole discussion must be taken to the front page becuase it was effite psuedo liberal, psuedo pacifist shitbags like that SanderO who created the narrative of killers and murderers comin’ home to be spit on by the “dirty rotton hippies” some 40+ years ago. We must confront this ignorant bullshit and make it into fertilizer for political action in defense of those who are called to give whatever measure their country asks. It is this denial and shunning that created the divisions after Vietnam and we must not let it happen again.
KEEP THE FAITH ANSD PASS THE AMMUNITION, THE WAR IS COMIN’ HOME AND WE HAFTA BE READY!!

There’s a chance the military will not obey the order to attack. If the generals don’t see attacking Iran puts our troops in greater harms way then they already are, they are not much good as generals. It truly is a sorry state when we depend on generals to keep American principles alive.

This post should be all the advertising needed to defeat this whack job in November.
Seriously.
Just run all those comments in a 60 second loop (hopefully, actual footage of him saying these things) and the job is done.
If Sen. Obama doesn’t beat this kook by 5-8 points it will be a sad commentary on us as a nation.
Amen!
Sorry…was in the shower.
Did someone mention hot dogs? We’ve got mighty fine tasting ones up here in Maine! My mother tells me when she and my father are in Florida all winter long, they yearn for these…

what wedge issue chutzpah, trying to isolate the War Party exclusively into the (R) camp.
They are both war parties, or they are two wings of the same war party.
