I think Bushies know the public is against them and they’re willing to take the hit obliquely. Yep, I did say that. The thing is John McCain has always labeled himself as a Maverick and not tied to the Republican party. A Libertarian friend of mine calls McCain a Liberal.

The Republican Party is not going to accept blame for the war or for the loss of this presidential election!

They’re going to blame the Liberal Maverick McCain and then come back next time with more Conservative Bush Republican fascist garbage — completely unrepentent.

They need to be smacked down hard and not given any any way to deny responsibility. Denying responsibility has been Dubya’s life story and America can’t accept that or the possibility of more Bush crap governance.

At stake the cost of this war or How Bushco trashed America:
A domestic program that can heal poverty, out of reach housing, food shortage for low income and homeless, education enhancement, sane renewable energy policy, medical care for every sick person no matter what,an employment program tied to infrastructure needs that reemploys ALL that want or can work, a free press that is required to report the news to the public,an affordable housing program that will keep construction industry rolling permanently and an sound well funded environmental approach to clean air/clean water and species protection.
And last most importantly a department of peace that reports to congress with peace strategies.
Progressive Architecture June 1973 has a series on how to achieve affordable living spaces…it recognizes that WAR is what draws funding away from these domestic products. Most of those design models were never built, instead the venture capital went to the great towers of Mordor that house the Corporations that steal and rob our national treasury. These are the folks that get the huge Bushco tax cuts, forgiveness for environmental pollution and through K Street lobbyist have overwhelming influence on the natonal and state legislators.
Contribute to Blue America Howie is doing a super job. Let’s help by demanding Impeachment proceedings to tar the Republican label with the fruit og their labors…stealing the National treasury for a crony capitalist war. This huge transfer of tax payments has to be returned to the American people.
The energy and activity created in cleaning up the Bushco mess can heal. Lors of lifestlye changes have to take place, how we live, how we consume and how we handle our waste, sustainability at the local planning level, a mandatory national service like peace corps and a new rebuild America Corps a place for gangs, youth and vets to plug in to with educational benefits. Smart growth and sustainable energy tax credits for such. A HOPE-FILLED positive agenda to restore America the Beautiful.

” Senator McCAIN: That mission, as we all know, changed rather dramatically as the result of the United Nations Security Council resolutions from one of keeping people from starving to peacekeeping, warlord-hunting, nation-building, whatever.

NARRATOR: Another problem, according to Senator McCain, was the Clinton administration’s failure to consult with Congress.

Senator McCAIN: One of them is not coming back to consult with Congress because of the change of mission, but, more impor-tantly, without really thinking through what the consequences of a very dramatically shifted priorities entailed and the possible consequences.”…………

“Senator McCAIN: It’s in our interest to see people being able to survive throughout the world. It’s in our interest to see peace and order. But what we have to recognize is the United States cannot do those things and the United States has to be very careful when it gets involved militarily. Otherwise, we will not only not help the situation, but perhaps, over time, worsen the situation, with the consequent expenditure of American lives and treasure.”

The GOP is gonna hang Saddam again just for good measure and election publicity.

-G

By the way, I would bet it the GOP insider is talking about good things for the GOP it must involve more war and blood and death.

I assume that they are under the strange notion that a bombing campaign against Iran will ignite the flag waving fervor that the Iraq war brought about.

Not this time, it’ll send the nation sideways.

I seem to recall the death toll of 18 US troops in Somalia repeated over and over again in GOP circles as an outrage worthy of impeachment. I believe No Surrender, No Retreat John McAnger was a big advocate of getting out of Somalia poste haste after the blackhawk incident.

Honestly, I’d settle for him missing it “by that much”, the operative word being Missing - Loosing — not close enough for even the Supreme Court to overturn it.
And, then….hopefully by that time people in AZ would be so full of remorse for having him as their senator that he loses that too, sooner than later.

Yeah, that was Jeb’s parting gift to his buddies. I think it was mostly carried out before Crist’s time.

Not all the electronic machines in use have such a paper trail. Some have no paper trail at all, and a “recount” consists of going back to the machine (or to the memory card that was extracted from the machine) and figuratively saying to it, “Tell me again what those numbers are?” And you’ll just get the same numbers.
