The number of coalition soldiers killed in Iraq is -at this moment- 4,393. Over 1.2 million Iraqis have died as a result of Bush's War in Iraq according to Just Foreign Policy. The number of soldiers on our side killed in Operation Enduring Freedom aka Afghanistan is 817. I found no current numbers for the death count of Afghans.
Let us remember those who died, and also those injured in these conflicts -- and all the wars that have gone before. When will we Give Peace a Chance? Support our troops, bring them home.

ZED is dead and this is what he said …
Viguerie is Bush Bashing on WJ. What fun.
And I thought I could sneak in rather late this morning… Got EPU’d…!
Good morning, pups. If it’s me, it must be the NYT. Oh, Gawd… MoDo now feels it’s necessary for her to stick her oar in… She offers up a thing called “All About Eve,” and says that Hillary Clinton’s inner Eve Harrington leaped out in South Dakota when she inelegantly revealed why she wants to keep running: stuff happens. Nicholas Kristof writes about “Where Breathing Is Deadly,” and says China’s economic boom is raising living standards hugely in many ways, but the toll of the resulting pollution can be brutal. Mr. Friedman writes about “Hope in the Unseen,” and says a portrait of hope was on every face during a lottery to choose the first 80 students, drawn from disadvantaged districts, who will attend a new public boarding school. Mr. Rich writes about “Memorial Day at ‘South Pacific’,” and says the 1949 musical “South Pacific” at Lincoln Center reminds us that those whose memory we honor are always at the mercy of the leaders who send them into battle.

The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready. I’ve got lots of yard work to do today, so it’s a full breakfast this morning. Help yourselves to scrambled eggs, sausage and/or bacon, grits, and biscuits. (Try some of the wild blueberry preserves I got at Fresh Market on Friday — yummy.) And make a bacon or sausage biscuit for a snack later… Have a great day.
It is likely that the Democratic race will be over within the next ten days:
– There are 290 uncommitted delegates (Dkos)
– Obama needs 53 to reach the magic number of 2025 (Dkos)
– Clinton needs 245 (Dkos), which means that if Obama gets even 46 more, Hillary stands no chance of getting to 2025.
– On June 1 and June 3, PR, SD, and MT have primaries that will allocate most of their 110 delegates (NYT).
That meal sounds great. Can I save it for later? I don’t eat breakfast but love breakfast food. When I do outside work, I start on just coffee, but come in somewhere around 11 for my first meal of the day.
Buenos Dias! I watched some of his speech from Friday at the Libertarian Convention; when he left the podium, I swear I heard him say “See you at the Revelation.” But he must have said “See you at the Revolution.”
It’s a shame to see him so distressed that his life’s work didn’t, well, work out for him. Where’s my darned handkerchief?
That’s what’s great about cyber food — it stays fresh until you’re ready to eat it! It’ll be hot and ready to serve at 11. (I’ll confess I did a lot of weed pulling this morning early with just tea as fuel. Bermuda may be a lovely place, but if it’s responsible for Bermuda grass it’s got a LOT to answer for…)
YUM! Marion, what a tasty breakfast you’ve laid out for us. I’ll need a bigger plate brb.
I’ll save my hankie for crying for the troops, if you don’t mind.
As for Viguerie, schadenfreude time. I also watched a bit of the Libertarian “debate” last night, but I was tired & didn’t retain much. Do remember that it was a hoot. The only thing those poor folks can do for themselves is get together once/year (or is it once every 4 years?), dust off all the Libertarian slogans, say them 400 times to cheers.
Speaking of grass …
My lawn is much too large for current gasoline prices. For years I’ve been thinking about converting some parts to buffalo grass. As I understand it, it grows to about 4 inches in height, stays green, doesn’t need mowing. I’ve looked on the internet to see about buying it, but haven’t really settled down to the task. Don’t know how the ground has to be prepared to prevent other grasses from invading, for example. Anyone familiar with buffalo grass?
I came across this interesting animation of Iraq war deaths, day by day. It stops at October 5, 2007, tho. But it is interesting to watch, and through the checkboxes on the side, you can adjust what country’s soldiers appear.
Iraq War Coalition Fatalities
re: buffalo grass - i didn’t have it (not enough sun) when i lived in dallas, but it was becoming popular there. i thought it was more of a choice for high sun / high heat?
why not go with something native, and not a monoculture?
hillary has made some huge mistakes but has also been under the looking glass, every word recorded to be perused and used later if there are easter eggs hidden or if easter eggs can be created
I am surprised obama has stood so well, they would rather run against hillary then obama and I would have thought they would have come up with more then they have to try to kill obama’s chances for the democratic nod
there is no democratic ticket that can fail in a real election, it doesn’t matter who obama pics, if the election is legitimate he is our next president
but the election will not be legitimate, at the very very least there will be caging, purging of our electorate, there will be too few polls with hours too short and with equiptment that “breaks down” so there is only one machine where there needs to be five
that’s at the very least, of course where there is electronic voting with no paper trail votes will be flipped and look to the exit polls to record a winner who “miraculously” loses even thought the exit polls say otherwise
if that happens look to the democrats to do what they did last year, nothing
they will be more brazen this year, armed with the supreme court ruling that disenfranchises democrats, armed with the knowledge that once a person is shown to be the winner it is almost impossible to turn that result around
and armed with the fact that they have no choice, that they are desperate, that they are about to be unseated for possibly an entire generation, they will be brazen, they will be bold, they will know no remorse, no fear, they will do whatever they can to steal yet a third election in a row
or of course there will be some “emergency” and martial law, elections to be suspened and held sometime in the “near future
Excellent advice. Tall or short grass prairie might work depending on what part of the country. Prairie ecosystems are the most threatened. From the east slope of the Rockies extending into Ohio and Ontario, prairies plantings a viable.
I have acres and acres (about 30) of fields that are filled with whatever wants to grow in them. The lawn area has some natural borders (property line, road, stream, woods on the 4 sides), and I’d like to keep it that way for the look. The area I’m thinking of for buffalo grass does get full sun.
oh, I forgot to say, if obama picks hillary he will be giving the republicans a dream ticket to run against, a black man, a women, a clinton
he needs to make better choices and he needs to give hillary an out
he needs to say to her in closed doors,
“I will say I offered you the spot and you will say you declined and would rather such and such a cabinet position
I will bemoan that you won’t be on my ticket as you are the most capable for the position and you will insist you cannot”
and then the campaign will begin, obama is gonna have to spend a good percentage of his war chest in protecting the system and the electorate if he is to stand a chace against election fraud
I don’t know a thing about it, but here’s a linky. It apparently has aggressive runners…
I mow my fields once/year in the late summer or early autumn to preserve the area for field nesters, which are endangered. Farmers start haying their fields in June and destroy the nests.
I would hope Hillary’s insinuation that she’s waiting for a “catastrophic” event as a path to the nomination disqualifies her completely from even being considered for the VP slot.
OT - The Phoenix Mars Lander is scheduled to land on Mars this evening.
watching cspan: Viguerie’s shtick makes me think that all the focus on mccain is a big mistake - maybe we should be focusing on the conservative “movement” in general instead of a candidate that the conservatives are rejecting.
this is funny from think progress;
hehe…teh analogy below;
vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv
[assistant] “you can’t do that to me, I QUIT”
[boss] “in that case, I FIRE YOU”
idiots in that party, idiots
Thanks. It is, as I thought, not an amateur task to do buffalo grass in my part of the country. Several complications I noticed in your link. I need to find some landscaper in the area who knows about the subject.
eCAHN, I know of people who planted wildflower seed mixes, made for each region. Once planted, it gets mowed maybe once, or twice a year to keep the trees and understory bushes from succeeding. And then you have a field of flowers during the summer; don’t know your layout, tho. Sounds like you are looking to keep a green plot, so this might not be an idea for you.
See my 15 & 18. I have about 30 acres where I do just as you suggest.
More good advice. Your’e on a roll.
OK. Coffee’s gone. I’m off. See ya later.
Oh nice, I missed them typing my comment!
aHAHAHAHA
Viguerie is blaming the Republicans for ruining conservatism.
point of fact, it was bush, rove, cheney, rumsfeld, the neo con fascists and kind
they highjacked the party and the party went along,
MTP looks pretty thin.
Jeebus Elliott, that depressed the hell out of me. Felt wrong to close it before it finished though….
as usual.
Oh please, lets not go there. Just for one thread….
Per NYT:
That’s a week and a half (ten days) from now.
See, though, the pissed off republicans hardly never become democrats , but when dems get pissed at our party manty become republicans. good riddance to them, i guess. and i don’t think there’s much place here for the peeps who think the gop isn’t conservative enough. wish we could do a better job of peeling away some reopubl;icans. and speaking of republicans, re:hagel on the dem ticket— never friggin’ happen. why do they even talk such bullshit?
well, they usually have a big name on — even if it’s an asshole. guess alot of people are at the mccain’s party.
well, my memorial day blows. wife and kids had to go away and i’m home all alone. bought myself a watwermellon ansd will make some macaroni salad. this sucks.
Right now, the Blue Dog Democrats are a bigger obstacle to the progressive agenda than are the Republicans.
((((( Elliott )))))
Mornin’ all !
Spring’s sprung in Toronto - 72 today … am off to enjoy the trail near my home … it’s going down to 39 a couple of days from now …
Love & hugs to you all … marion, save me some of that breakfast … *g*
Here’s another interactive resource on “Iraqi in Transition”
There’s an Honor Roll of (to date) 4070 American soldiers killed.
(((Petro)))
welcome to Spring! Lucky you to be able to go hiking today.
snackin’ on bbq’d quail wings and ribs
Good morning everyone. Every Iraqi death is one more family in the Middle East who hates our guts. Nice, huh? Every American death over in Iraq has no noble cause attached to it. What a waste! So tired of this freaking illegal occupation of a nation that did not attack us!
nice article from the boston globe (just read on the WJ):
Low ticket sales & too many protesters at the McCain/Bush fundraisers…
http://www.bizjournals.com/pho.....rround=lfn
Awwwww, no one wants to see these two and both are afraid of protesters. What a couple of warmongering cowards they are! Love it. ;-)
who do you think will be the Republican VP pick?
My fear is Joe Lieberman/Newt Gingrich/Jeb Bush. ;-)
I got a real kick out of that story. And I love the $25,000 price tag to get the VIP treatment with Mr. 30% and McSame.
OT - changes to time posts are available for commenting. used to be 24 hours, but now appears to be less than 12 hours. anyone know what the current setting is? thanks!
Oh please, let them put a Bush on the ticket.
McCain/Bush 2008 - Can’t get much more explicit about a 3rd Bush term than that!
Sorry about that… We’ll do our best to keep you company, though.
it’s a transition glitch and should be fixed shortly. You’re right, the posts should be open for comment for 24 hours.
If you missed it, yesterday Regina Thomas was introduced by Howie as our Blue America candidate, challenging my worthless Congresscritter John Barrow. There’s hope…
I did too, but what’s so funny is even the wealthy top 5% of the country isn’t willing to put their money against them. Love it!
Eventually, George Bush & John McCain will have to do tailgate fundraising across this country and then will hightail it to the next town/city! LOL
thanks! thought maybe the change had been made on purpose, and that i had just missed the announcement.
I agree. Having a Bush on the McCrazy ticket would be good, but I think it will bring out the wingnuts again in support. If the CT Dems couldn’t see through LIEberman’s hypocrisy, warmongering and lies, will the rest of the nation’s Democrats? We see it, but I’m not sure other Democrats will. Newt Gingrich is a fat version of Ronnie Raygun…again…the wingnuts will be masturbating all the way to the ballot box! LOL
This is heartbreaking
Miracle Man loses the fight for life.
What Hell he went through.
I blame Bush.
Blue Dog Dems are a scourge, no doubt.
Often they come from districts that have high percentages of “low information” voters. Voters who are very susceptible to demagoguery of different forms.
The actual Blue dog Dem is someone who in his district, travels in the same social circles as Republicans, the same country clubs, restaurants etc. The problem in these districts is that the true progressive voice is not welcome in the clubby, closed system of local Democratic politics.
Not trying to be totally pessimistic, but it will take change on several different fronts in those Blue Dog districts before actual Democrats with real Democratic values are elected.
The Pentagon years ago under Rummy couldn’t account for $2.3 TRILLION. It now appears another $15 billion is missing (add this to the $9 billion missing in Iraq that Paul Bremer passed out without writing down who got what)…
http://www.ballot.com/hotwire/.....llion.html
Something tells me that George Bush & Dick Cheney are getting some of this money in nice little bank accounts where the other terrorists keep their money: IN DUBAI.
Georgie says he’s lost $6 million since being selected the president! Bullshit. He could have a negative tax return and would still have tons of laundered money in safe bank accounts around the world that his Oil Maggot friends have set up!
Oh shit…
I blame Bush too for every single injury and death since March 2003 over there in Iraq and Afghanistan. Oh, but Georgie gave up golf so everything is fine now. Gawd I hate that man. It’s no wonder our soldiers are liking the idea of Barack Obama on the ticket this year! They see real change like the rest of us do.

LIVES
Ferguson
By MICHAEL NORMAN
A colleague dropped by on a recent day to tell me that it was the third anniversary of her son’s coming home from Iraq. That stopped me. It’s been 40 years since I stepped off the battlefield, and I’m not home yet. I can still feel the muck of rice paddies pulling on my boots, still hear the jungle hiss and snap in the dark. Even after the night dreams and day drifts have stopped and the loud noises no longer startle, you still press your chin against your shoulder and look back.
In those days, we had no time for the dead: Jim Payne from Glendale, Calif., Tommy Gonzales from Beeville, Tex. It was hard losing those good men, hard watching them fall. But we were too busy to grieve or to toll the knell. We wrapped the bodies in muddy ponchos, tossed them like sacks of rice into a helicopter and moved on…

Suzanne has The Doors Unknown Soldier up at her blog.
It’s drowning out Terry McAuliffe here.
sheez that guy bugs me.
The fact he and Karl Rove are pals right now to get Hillary on the ticket and knowing Hillary keeps suggesting that the RFK assassination is relevant, well, I’d like to take this time to tell Terry McAuliffe, fuck you and the neocon horse you rode in on!
Not only that, he’s irritating to listen to. All neocons make my ears bleed.
i don’t disagree - but i have to add that he is not the only person with blood on his hands. too many of us have supported bushco’s wars or have done nothing to oppose them or have done too little to resist them.
very sobering thought this weekend when i consider what has been done in my name.
She has kept suggesting it?
Again Selise, I’m not going to get down on my knees and start whipping my own back until it bleeds to blame myself in any of this. I will do that when George Bush and his Warmongering Thugs do it first. To say that none of us have opposed or done nothing is not accurate or even right. We have, but we have a White House & a Congress (I don’t blame all members of the Congress either) who don’t listen. Now that their asses are being kicked out of office slowly one by one, they’re perking up. Assholes!!!
You and I never said once before March 2003, “Oh yes. Going into Iraq is the right thing to do. It makes sense”. We never said that. We protested and opposed it. We are not to blame. Those with the Power are to blame.
kay - i NEVER said ANY such thing.
Oh yes, she’s said it before..at least four times. It’s been pointed out that in the 1984 race it went to June, but for some reason she always mentions her husband and then the RFK assassination as reasons to stay in the race. If you watched the whole video of her this last time talking about it, she wasn’t using it as a linear example, but rather, was implying that “traumas” do happen and we need to wait it out.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5vyFqmp4wzI
Had she said, “RFK came into the race in June of 1968 also, so it’s not weird that I will be too”, or something like that. She keeps mentioning his assassination.
Okay. You said “too many have done nothing to oppose them”. That is different. ;-)
“…too many of us have supported bushco’s wars or have done nothing to oppose them or have done too little to resist them.”
I didn’t realize it was something that had been repeated. I saw one video clip, and to me it looked like she was saying that campaigns not infrequently continue into June…
I will watch the youtube as soon as I get to a ‘puter that will let me.
i did not know that. potentially gives a very different interpretation than i the one i’ve held. do you have links to the previous examples? i’d like to give them a look/listen for myself. thanks!
thank you ((kay)), you’re the best.
Puts the whole weekend in perspective doesn’t it. I’ve decided to start a one-woman campaign to get everybody to support the troops and Slow Down this Summer…hey, the gas mileage improves, and it’s about time we start pushing from the bottom up against the Greedy Ol’ Party and their Big Oil wars.
Marion, your breakfast sounds yummy…just the thing for a busy spring cleanup day.
and eCAHN, two words: electric mower.
[I love mine…yes, cord and all. My own little oil protest and homage to my gramma.]
Prairie Today: We Honor
HRC………… Sit down and shut up!
My final comment on 1968. The contest lasted until the convention in Chicago. McCarthy never withdrew during the primary season. Ask those of us working in Manhattan for the NY primary.
And look how 1968 ended up. Maybe Hillary should have stayed away from 1968 altogether.
At some point external factors: lack of money, the end of the primaries, superdelegates moving to Obama will force Clinton to get out. When this happens, she will say it was always her plan to do so at precisely this point. No one will believe her but most in the Democratic Party will be too relieved to challenge her on her contention.
Hillary made reference to RFK’s assassination in a Time article in March (link at the bottom of this article)…
http://www.latimes.com/news/po.....6156.story
I’ll search for the other 3 times she’s mentioned it as a reason to stay in the race. ;-)
Good morning. Exactly right. If there was ever an example (and there have been several) of what causes many of us to become strident about the need to decide on a candidate and try to heal wounds ASAP, it was 1968.
at least she’s started to go after the republican party to campaign
that’s the way this entire campaign should have been run, with our candidates punishing the republcans instead of themselves
shame it didn’t go that way but we know who our canidate is, he’s doing the right thing and giving hillary her space.
we just long for the big show to hit the road
She mentioned it in January 2008…
http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com.....60910.aspx
Here’s the Times article in March in case you’re having trouble finding it in the article above…
http://www.time.com/time/natio.....-2,00.html
;-)
One of the more comical notions out there is that Clinton will make a “graceful” withdrawal. She could have done this after Super Tuesday or Pennsylvania at the latest. She didn’t. Instead she pursued a scorched earth policy. How do you make a graceful exit from that?
I don’t get hbo so I hope someone who has it watches and posts a revue
2 nice a day to stay inside, gonna take a drive while I can still afford the fuel
see all later
i’m hoping that after june 3 (? end of primary) it will be clear that clinton does not have the popular vote and that will help reconcile clinton supporters to an obama nomination - at least more so than the supers deciding it today. at this point, with only a few days to go, i’d prefer to see it play out.
disclaimer - i’m not watching the MSM coverage of the primary campaign, so it’s likely i have no clue how destructive it’s been and if i did, maybe i would have a different opinion.
kay - thanks for the links.
By hiring Barack’s speech writer.
Morning everyone!
yup. i watched a bit. Very thin.
Maybe it’s a total of 4 times she’s made reference to RFK’s assassination as a reason to stay in the race? There is one more time she said that I’m having trouble finding.
Anyways, it’s very clear to me the reason as to why she keeps mentioning it. Does she know something? Is this why Barack Obama had to beef up his Secret Service protection this year? Afraid the Clinton camp (along with Karl Rove and others….Sean Hannity is buddies with Hal Turner (neo-Nazi-white-supremacist who is on the FBI’s payroll) might do something “traumatic” so Hillary can be on the ticket?
I think so. I can hear Hillary now, “Well, that was a fun race. What a tragedy that Obama isn’t with us now. Can I have some cake?!!!!”.
Spit. I’ve really gotten to the point where I despise her and her husband. I never thought it would come this far, but it has.
No HBO here either… Reviews, please!
Kay! Get a grip.
appreciate that. I blew the macoroni sald from the word go. overcooked it. had no idea how hard it is.
mornin’ Loo
LOL I can’t! *gripping forehead* Nothing is working at this point. ;-)
Good Morning Everyone…
Also Good News …. the Phoenix McCain/Bush Protest of the fund raiser on May 27 is still on….. they found out where it will be held and moving it there… SO they can run but they cannot hide…
PROTEST BUSH IN MESA
at
Defense Contractor Silverado Cable Company
this Tuesday, May 27th
2:00 – 4:00 p.m. corner of 1st Avenue and Dobson Rd, Mesa, AZ
sure. I’ve been waiting for this with alot of anticipation. i hope not too much ebcause when that happens things often don’t measure up to your expectaions or at least your hopes. what ever it’s worth, it got good previews down here in FL. At least in my local piece of garbage Chi Trib owned fish wrap excuse for a paper.
Mornin’, everyone. Haven’t read past this one. Is the 2025 solid, whether or not MI and FL are seated? That doesn’t change the magic number?
Hee, hee, hee!!! I’m now smiling one smile that runs around my face 2 times!
Any of those three puts the Rethug ticket on a fast train to doom.
Love it Katymine! Like I said above, McCrazy & Bushitler will have to start raising money on the tailgate of the Straight Talk Express bus! The angry masses are forcing this. Bah hahahahahaha!
Funny! ;~)
Will you be at the festivities?
By the way, Freewayblogger has some of those Phoenix protest signs that are scaring the cowards, John McCrazy and George Bush…
http://freewayblogger.blogspot.....oenix.html
Awwwwww, poor little warmongering cowards. And we thought they were the tough guys!
Bushitler…. New one on me. haven’t been around blogs much especially lately. Good one.
But did ya catch where it is at…. a Defense contractors place of business!
BTW… besides movie Recounted….. I found that Hacking Democracy is also on HBO today…. at 11:30 MST…. for those who haven’t seen that one (me)
Keep hearing that the McCains are having a party/barbecue at one of their homes. Is it really one of HER homes??
Oh yes. Been using it for years. There’s even a picture of him!
http://instapunk.com/images/bush_hitler02.jpg
LOL Nice, huh?
No… have to work…. but will hear all about it by listening to KPHX… figure that callers from the protest will call in and the station has been very active at promoting it…
Well, of course it’s at a home of a defense contractor! I’d like to know how many holdings Cindy “Xanax” McCrazy has in defense contractors. Let me guess…she owns a good portion of KBR/Halliburton/Blackwater? I wouldn’t doubt it. Owning beer is the least of our worries at this point.
Gotta gtet ready for church for a change. Have a great day everybody. I’m out of propane so i’m grilling a hot dog on the stove. My macaroni salad sucks. And I’m all by my lonesome. Can I get some sympathy? I know it;s pathetic to ask, but my whole day is pathetic. Besides, i hear self-pity has worked for Hillary on occasion.
“…in a quiet Texas hospital…”
Boy Wonder needs to see what he has done. I imagine he was quick to visit this courageous man who was sacrificed at the altar of BushCo.
(((Miracle Man))) and (((those who loved you)))
It was starting to be a good day until I read this. So sad.
Thank you, George Bush. You are such a fucking coward.
a couple of years ago there was an article in our AZ Republic(ian) that our “fine” senators had brought home the bacon with over $91 BILLION in defense contacts since 2001….. It is one of the reasons that the Gov has been kind of for the war because it employees a lot of people and brings in a lot of taxes…
Ignorant query of the day —- what is (((( )))))?? Hugs or somethin’?
Crap. Romney’s moving 30 minutes away from me. Icky.
I sure hope he’s not thinking governor of California. I’m hoping he’s thinking Tabernacle.
(((Beerfart Liberal))) You have just been hugged.
It is my understanding that McBush does not own much in physical assets…. the homes which is somewhere around 8 are owned by CindyLou….So the Veep screen BBQ is up at the Kept Mans Compound…
The Maverick says he never once voted for pork for his state. i have a feeling his definition of “pork” is somewaht different than mine and alot of other people’s.
Cool.
virtual hugs. like this: ((Beerfart Liberal))
Sorry about your condition, Beerfart. You’ll make it. I have confidence in you!
Thanks. Much needed. No wife or kids to do it.
You might be right, but I think the wingnuts are despising John McCrazy so much that anyone as his VP who is a wingnut will help. Of course, you and I know that any of those 3 would be a dream to fight against because we have tons of ammo on all accounts, but I doubt many Americans know what we know. Many Democrats still think McCrazy is the ONLY rational republican in the party. For crying out loud!
CASE IN POINT: Ken of the Ken & Mike Show here in Portland, Maine on WGAN is the “liberal/progressive” and he is a Hillary supporter. He said recently that if Obama is on the ticket, he’s voting for McCain and will bring his ballot to the radio station when the time comes to show Mike “The Wingnut” Violette that he is indeed going to vote for him over Obama.
I will be doing a post about Kenny’s assertion and will be forwarding it to him. I will call him out for throwing out his rationality, his anti-war/pro-peace stance, his feelings against torture, his feelings against the illegal occupation of Iraq….all because he can’t vote for a black man! Shameful. I’d rather he not vote on election day then to help McCain with George Bush’s 3rd term!
Ken is an example of the stupid Democrats in our country who would vote for John McCain even if Jeb Bush was his VP. Stooooooooooooooooooooooooopid.
aaaagh! Groundhog Day at FDL. Comments cloning themselves.
((((HUGGING BEERFART LIBERAL))))
One hot dog left? And you’re cooking it on the stove? Add some onions to it to give ya the BBQ feel! LOL
I will. Know what? I asked for sympathy earlier (muy unseemly) but i take that back. That’s the worst thing for me. Screw the self-pity. You’re right. i’ll be fine.
Okay, gotta go work outside for awhile. Have a good day everyone! As always, nice talking with you all. ;-)
Thanks for the tip. And you cut an X with a knife What else? a friggin pick ax??) at both ends so it’s like a Ripper from Ruts Hut on Route 46 in NJ. (Clifton??)
Sounds like what’s called for here is some good ol’ FDL lovin’. This community has helped keep me afloat more than once. It’s okay to lean on us. Really.
You too.
hit F5 or refresh…. you clinked the new comments link twice
Too bad McCane’s (thanks punaise) campaign is in such disarray.
I know. Got a few hugs. And I really didn’t know what (((( )))) meant. i wasn’t scrounging for hugs. That’d also be unseemly.
Do any of these clowns give any rational explanation for voting for McCain vs Obama? Smells like pure unadulterated racism to me. That’s something he can definitely be called on. Million ton shit hammer time.
Seemly is good.
Help… I’m agreeing with Maureen Dowd … there must be a mistake..
well, I do hav eto go to church. Thanks. thsi is a great place and I’ll be back for more later. Will defintely check in after “Recount” for the HBO-less. Have a great one everybody.
I don’t think you need to get a grip. The people who keep making excuses for Clinton, blaming Obama and his supporters for every vile thing she says or does, and deny she meant what she actually said are the ones who need to get a grip.
where did everyone go?
for more coffee *g*. but a beautiful day is calling - sunny and expected to get to 75F. still a bit cool, but not for long.
getting myself motivated ….. bought over 200 sq.ft of R-30 insulation to put in my attic…. something I planned in Jan-Feb but was not well enough from my surgery….. surprisingly cool weekend so going to get it done today and tomorrow…
I’ve been in and out. I’m addressing
weed centralthe front flower bed so I can get my moss roses planted. You know the way we all feel about Bu’ush? I feel that way about Bermuda grass…I actually think MTP had some pretty good assessments of HRC and the situation. In discussing HRC VP possibility, which most saw as unlikely now, Doris Kerns Goodwin gave the LBJ version of, I think, Sun Tzu’s saying about keeping your enemies close. LBJ said it was better to have your enemies inside the tent pissing out than outside pissing in.
i have real trouble motivating myself for that kind of work if i have to do it alone. sometimes loud music helps. good luck.
the hardest part is getting the bundles of insulation up through the access opening into the attic…. once up there it should be pretty easy…. and ya doing it alone too doesn’t help….. the Dog is not nagging me yet…
It’s gonna be hot and humid in sunny Florida. Gonna go sit in front of the fan and read all day. After French toast and coffee, that is. Later, pups. Play nice and don’t break anything.
Raven @ 63
Yep. The Delta. Hear it, see it, smell it, taste it, feel it.
Still in Saigon
I can feel and smell Charlie Daniels and Lee Greenwood too. . .
