Suzanne!
katymine!
Rats! I was answering Betsy on “another” blog and just missed!
Ribs!
hi suzanne.
gnome (gasp) there are other blogs?
tri-tip!
hi tex
YAYI Now I can talk about cookin’!
I think my interaction with the smoker is passing into zen. The ribs (for the second time in a row) were perfect.
I know, eatin pig ain’t PC or kosher or anything. But I loves me good ribs with good sauce.
‘Tater salad, baked beans, collard greens, and cornbread. That’s some good eatin. :-D
What’d everybody cook today?
tis a powerful video and goes to what memorial day memorializes
ooops! I forgot. That’s kinda like the joke where the guy is being giving the tour of heaven. When they go past this one door St. Peter tells him to hush and walk very quietly because the Baptists are in there and they think they are the only ones up there.
i heated up leftovers
I cooked noffin. I eat plenty.
Good night all. I have a student in the AM and a ton of paperwork on my desk.
went for dinner with a teacher friend.
i’ve heard that joke (laughing) but with different denominations inserted into the punchline
pain free sleep wishes tex
Next time you have a pup gathering, let me know, I’ll bring at least two racks (and maybe 4) of spare ribs and sauce. I might piss some people off but the ribs be good.
skeptic, we double checked in IE and the f’s are there.
have you cleared your cache lately?
*sigh*
that guy, looks like the next pup gathering up here will be the help me pack up and store stuff cause i’ve lost the house event
How do you make your potato salad, thatguy?
Where are you? Are you going to Net Roots Nation? We could use a pro at our FDL BBQ
No movement on the sale? I’m sorry.
You’d have to ask my partner, that’s her department.
Loo hoo, I know she uses onion, garlic and celery.
CRAP. Oh, Suz.
does that mean ya won’t be bringing the ribs?
Oh dear. I don’t know what to say.
Hell yeah I’ll bring ‘em, I’d just rather bring it to a celebration instead of a funeral.
its not a done deal but time is running out. i expect the hammer to fall sometime after the wedding
Suzanne. I am so sorry. Hard to deal with.
life is full of challenges. sometimes, we just gotta have a party instead of crying
I had take out from Pei Wei …. part of the PF Chang chain….. Phad Thai Noodles - chicken..
Showed McBush leaving the Jerome Restaurant and CindyLou had to steady him going down the stairs….. hand under his elbow…. she grabbed it… he wasn’t using the handrail…
I wish we could all come together and bail you out.
Best tater salad:
potato
hard boiled egg
green onion
celery
dill pickle
radish
S&P
Dressing: Mash the egg yolk and mix with mayonnaise, mustard, and pickle juice. Serve COLD.
Good band, very good singer, great name. Brian Auger’s Oblivion express

Every time I hear about the Straight Talk Express, I remember these guys.
Holy moley…. TGIF restaurant caught fire….not far from my house….. grease fire, burnt to the ground …. there were around 100 people inside when the fire started …. wow… no one insured
it is what it is - and i have no control over. what will be will be whether i am laughing or crying. i choose to laugh
how can a restaurant not have insurance?
Diane Benson’s speech at the Alaska Democratic Party Convention yesterday
The audio of the speech
It was one of the five best speeches I’ve heard in Alaska. Maybe the best speech on issues concerning women in a decade or so.
Suz, if the cottage goes, where will you live?
Does the bank really want your place in this day and time?
injured….. typo… just of been typing it while the next news segment…
oh gosh, i love that song. haven’t heard it in years. thanks strato
They shouldn’t have been in there on a Sunday. Geez.
exhaling… that’s good news katymine
i bought it from people who carried the paper for the mortgage since traditional financing is not available (long story)… they will just keep it in their family and do not plan to sell it.
Only on Fridays? *g*
et that speech forking rocked hard
Goddess works in mysterious ways
ah. That explains it. It sounds a bit better.
some of the women, especially Alaska Native women, and Ms. ET, were in tears. I was just real happy. Later, after talking to John Dean, I told Diane, “That was amazing….cool.”
Suz, I wish I could get up there to help you. Wish I had gaudy baubles to sell!
ET what did you think of John Dean?
He has been here in Phoenix a lot, going through the Goldwater papers and comes to events….. He is so approachable and what I would call a “real” person….. and BOY does dislike Cheney…
John Dean was fairly modest, and patiently signed a lot of books, and tried to do OK in small talk. The radio interviews he did last week were good, but the answers to questions from the audience after his speech last night - he took almost 20! - showed him at his best. He’s an important patriot, as we claw to save our constitution.
I brought up the time he stayed at fdl for almost a hole day answering everybody’s questions. He chuckled, but didn’t seem to think it was anything special.
save your baubles margot i’ll land on my feet
Obama’s TV message to Alaskans at the Democratic Party Convention.
Suze, be damn sure to take good care of yourself. Find a trailer to rent or something. Make sure you have a roof, ok?
I suspect my palatial retirement villa will be a travel trailer.
I told him how much I enjoyed his time at FDL and he light right up and said that it was new but he really enjoyed it….. and even autographed my book with “FDL” …. it was the same here…. they planned it for an hour with 20 minutes of Q&A and after three hours they were shoving us out of the hall.
i was planning on moving anyway… just gonna be a move that is on different terms
not sure where i’ll land but i have absolute faith that i am never given more than i can handle - i moved up here not knowing anyone and had faith that it would be fine - it will be fine wherever i land
now … who is doing what tomorrow (that guy, i know what you will be doing - just a question of for how many)
Early am I am finishing putting the R-30 insulation in my attic…. and then later finish the pavers for my walkway in the back yard….. If things go well then start digging for the last line for my automatic sprinkler system
Otherwise not too much…
That’s funny, katymine.
I think he might have done that, but knew things had to move along. He was talking to some late book signers in a corner as I left.
I am celebrating my fiance’s birthday one day early since he has to work on his birthday, Tuesday
sweet. fingers and toes crossed it stays cool until you are done - i bet you are looking forward to lower energy bills this summer.
happy birthday! i am a firm believer in everyone should get their birthday off from work. i’ve picked shifts based on whether or not i had to work my bday
I take it ThatGuy lives on the Left Coast?
Now that Betsy has gone to bed, I can admit that one of my weaknesses is BBQ spare ribs. I try to maintain a good diet, but sometimes evil just sneaks in. Like Pork BBQ and Ice Cream. Several vegetarian friends say that the thing they miss the most is pepperoni. That battle with our bodies is constant!
Already I can feel the difference….. And then add the new AC when that gets installed….. dang thunderstorms delayed it…
close enough to bring ribs!
thank goodness it was cooler. hot and humid is the worst
Happy Birthday to Patrick ….. enjoy and have lots of fun…
Good on you Katymine. The front of my little house faces northwest, which is the afternoon hot, hot sun. There were no trees in the front when I bought it, so I have planted trees, but in the meantime have vines and climbing roses growing up a few feet in front of the wall and windows to try to shade them from the blazing sun.
Yep, SillyValley. Tried living east of the Rockies a while ago. Didn’t suit me. I’m a soul of the west. The east holds little interest for me.
i almost went with this cartoon tonight instead of the robert cray
chucking it in…. Nite everyone….. have a great and safe holiday…
g’nite katymine
Betsy can’t sleep and doesn’t mind at all if you eat ribs.
Suzanne, I love your attitude, but let us all know how we can help you have an easy landing.
I am going to go tuck myself in as well. I watched that cartoon. I am going to have to send it to Betsy to show her the fort where Bugs is training. that is what Fort Bliss looked like when I was a wee child. The Ft. Bliss that Cassie is living in is very different from the sounds of it.
Thanks for the YouTube of Robert Cray; he’s new to me and I really like that song.
Oh good. Now I don’t have to send you the cartoon.
g’nite gnome
Looking now. Cassie comes out from behind the camo curtain next weekend. Hopefully she’ll pop by the lake.
i will tex :)
he’s a great guitar player - check out some of his utubes
I’m fading, too.
Remember Suze, have a good day every now and then, ok?
g’nite that guy
i wasn’t try to bring doom and gloom to the thread pups. i’m sorry
No such thing, Suz.
We’re all “here”.
don’t apologize. we all love you and we know how hard you’ve been working to sell the house.
a year and a half on the market and 4 months of prep work to get it ready to sell is taking its toll. in a perverse way, i’m sorta looking forward to it just being ‘over’
for Suzanne
pretty darn close, my fireplace is in front
NewsBox:
Support the troops… Right.
that story should be front page headlines - a forking travesty that private psychiatrists are stepping up to help the vets the VA wont
Well they are not contractor cronies. You don’t expect them to get govt money, do you? Damn commie!

Mid-Level Official Steered U.S. Shift On North Korea
Early in President Bush’s second term, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice convened a series of strategy sessions on how to persuade North Korea to surrender its nuclear weapons programs. One key official, Assistant Secretary of State Christopher R. Hill, remained largely silent, four participants said, except to pipe up periodically with the same refrain.
“If you just let me go to Pyongyang, I’ll get you a deal,” the career Foreign Service officer said, prompting others to roll their eyes and move on.
And, a Texas story: Lawmakers pay wives with campaign donations

But there’s so many California ‘critters who that suits: Jerry Lewis, Gary Miller, Doo-nothing, Bilbray, Hunter…. really, just about the whole R delegation from the Golden State.
