We met up at a bar in Austin where Mr. LS was playin’, and I walked in the door and saw her and we both pointed at each other…then she ran into a bunch of people she hadn’t seen in years…it was great..then we went out and left our “table” and when we came back some guy was sitting at our table..this was interesting………anyway, he said that he had never been there and had just come over to hear the music for the first time….anyway, he was really, really sharp…as I realized “afterthefact”…almost “too smart”, but he was really nice and you wonder…But, after beer and other stuff (shots, etc.), we had some great conversation with him and others and partayed and whooped and yeehawed and aye-eeeeed pretty much all night…then we went home. Had a great time.

LS, that is way cool — sounds like a lot of fun!

Oh yeah, I almost got in a “sitiation”, because I lit up a cigarette (to be rebellious) and this woman who was sitting at a table in front of us, suddenly showed up after being gone for 20 minutes and saying she was “saving” her table, came back and got “in my face” and told me to get out of my seat (a different table) because she wanted to sit in my seat!!! Holy shizzola! Wangdang and I just were looking at her like she was a frikkin’ nut…anyway, I refused to move and her boyfriend hid behind her and tried to intimidate me to move, and I said NO. Actually, it was frikkin’ hysterically funny. We laughed and they left and we laughed some more. True story. ;P

this is my farewell.

i’m not melodramatic, but seems that it is the only way to get people to wake up.

a week ago, i expressed concerns about obama, they were taken wrongly, like i was a clinton troll..and slammed by a front page poster, i found the comment two days later and reacted with a vengeance and another front poster told me to drop it. i did not. this same front poster that told me to ’drop it’ had the same thing happen to him and we had to peel him off of the ceiling…so, he didn’t drop it, why should i??

in fact, i wrote the second poster and fdl management with a vitriolic letter that would singe chili peppers. full of cuss words and reasons why i was sooooooo right…didn’t matter that i was right, it mattered that it didn’t matter to them at all.

i received no response, since i was such a nut case….nothing. not a word.

i have tried to contribute to fdl….i contribute, i loved this place.

but i can no longer do that…

not anymore.

since that happened, i posted on blue america and egregious’ thread cuz it was necessary to save elliot’s broken toe….other than that, it’s been radio silence.

what is going on here is dangerous, and noone seems to want to address that….i find that very scary and no longer want to lend my name to it.

the last threads since kirk’s i have commented about it. read it or not, your choice, just find it hard to believe that you all would just let input lay stagnant that is well thought out and might have a view that would matter.

i can’t control that.

i wish i was able to list the reasons, but we are not allowed to post longer than the original post, and i in my heart believe that it wouldn’t matter anyway….not from what i’ve gotten and heard lately…….the last few posts i listed what matters most and what i feel about it….i wish y’al luck, with the way you’ve been treating each other, you’re gonna need it. i no longer wish to be a part of it.

i wanna come back someday to the lake i left in october, i’ll be lurking and i’ll hope that it returns to the same mineral waters that drew me here in the first place…but for now, it’s turned brackish and that’s not healthy for me.

we don’t know who each other is here, and if we did, we wouldn’t be so ready to dismiss and be so harsh with our comments…..big mistake. big loss. i know of a few i referred here that i watched get chased off…one was an award winning journalist…….chased off by vitriol….how’s that helping anyone?

I think I’m biased from 15+ years living in West LA (and providing care for folks in “the industry”), but I never assume a Hollyweird feature film “based” on a living person’s life accurately portrays that person.

If the film does – great, bonus points.

But after hearing from folks who create the things, I’m convinced accurate portrayals of the living (short of egregious libel/defamation) is very seldom a concern.

Sthe “patch adams” in the film is – from my perspective – a creation of writers, animated to serve plot devices.

Not the real person at all, I’m guessing.
