Bingo!
eureka!
Hey! Where’d everybody go?
Here. Can’t think of anything on my mind. Mwahahahahaaa. D’Oh…
Contest to be last downstairs?
Here is a little digg for you ES!
Hi, nahant.
I saw the Digg was up (after my stoopid compter unfroze) and I knew you must be here.
Evening, ES.
I’m outta here, too. Gotta close down yet another long running Austin bar tomorrow.
dugg
What’s on my mind?
Biden speaks for me: Bullsh*t!!!
Good evening all.. Free Hope Floats for everyone tonight..)
Evening Eureka!
What a cool tune!
Did he plagiarize you as well? /s
Say yes!
Evening All:>)
g’nite wangdang
EPU’d…to Gnome. No, it’s in a fairly small pot. I think it must be some kind of miniature variety. It’s very healthy though, but it never flowers. I feed it a tiny bit of miracle grow everytime I water it.
A friend gave me a nightblooming cirrus. It’s going gangbusters…maybe it will bloom someday. Oh, and those passion vines that I rooted, they finally took off and are growing outside…yay.
EPU’d -
CT & wdd wrt A. K. -
Well, hell’s bells and codfish! I’m gonna change my screen name to “Alwaysthelasttoknow”.
Why does he never show up at the Lake anymore? I’ve missed him tremendously.
What’s on my mind is McBush’s unerring instinct to earn his nickname, like how he echoed boosh’s Hitler comments about Obama
I just don’t think he’ll be able to help himself. He will doggedly run for that third boosh term. And lose.
Warning: Former Delaware resident here.
Heh, No slight intended…!
Maybe you can come by my place some day and find yours among my collection and figure out what it is. It may be very young. They often don’t bloom for years.
It’s a fabulous flower.. M Aunt had one for 17 years before it finally bloomed.. We stayed up most of that night watching the blooms… Flying squirrels were drawn to them too.
Kewl tune, ES! Had a reggae feel to it!
Question: Is the press, mainly the pundit class, trying to protect ratings by trying to protect the genital wart aka John McCain from being lasered off the face of the body politic by a Democratic juggernaut, or do they truly like genital warts?
EPU’d, It does grow wild here…! ;-)
That would be great. I absolutely love orchids. I love those one’s with the really long curly tendrils…
Now that is a unique perspective there OFG.
I happy to report that that term is public domain. har!
I just love the playground aspect of Bush running to the other side of the fence before he says “Obama plays like a girrrrl” and Big Bad Biden comes out.
Bullsh*t!
Bush, with the approval rating comparative to explosive diarrhea, did Obama a massive favor by flogging him with his flaccid, yet empty cod piece.
thhhhtghhtt. (That is me sticking my tongue out at you.)
My friend gave me a little cutting, and it is really taking off like crazy right now. It shoots up these narrow things and then they broaden out really quickly. Very cool plant.
Just saw him over at the Treehouse. He’s starting a new blog soon.
OK, really going to bed now!
Yes
EPU’d myself:
catching up on comments after a mad frenzy of laundry and cleaning …
so i’ll do a little blog pimping here *g* tomorrow you can find al k at http://www.althespook.com/ravings/ *ndfg the Mac grrrlll crosses fingers and hopes al’s laptop doesn’t die a typical pc death on teh road*
Doh! What’d I say?
g’nite Wangdang.
g’nite for realsies wangdang
I attribute my unique perspective to years of pills, whiskey and self-help tapes.
I attended a Chris Farley seminar, during the time he lived in a van down by the river.
He lurks in the corner, but because he is spooky he doesn’t come out and scare the children.
Fortunately, Suzanne recently stocked the Lake with massive amounts of brain bleach, which that comment clearly calls for!
http://www.althespook.com/
(((ndfg and AK))) How kewl is that?!! *g*
Colbert was sooo brilliant on twerp’s appearance in Israel. His facial expressions are enough to send me into spasms.
He had a card.
outside: Happy 60th Anniversary, Israel!
inside: HITLER!
nice touch huh?
Gallup’s latest poll has Obama only 2% points behind Bush’s conjoined twin John McPasty.
Please God, keep Rove and Cheney on the campaign trail.
-G
I never saw much good in those self-help tapes…! 8-)
heh. he made a rude noise and said he is going to haunt you *g*
LOL. for some reason the term “chronic diarrhea” just cracks my kids up. sigh.
very quaint
In Frigging Kansas!
-G
I hope they send Darth to each of the twenty or so closest swing states
Just any support of Biden. No matter how stupid he sounds, I still love him.
I slept under that van for a month while planting trees in the back woods of Virgina….My Gypsy days, long story..)
*waves goodnight to wangdang*
Did you say Reggae ?
Evenin’ all !
Jaysus. MS voters were treated to a visit from Veepers Creepers to scare them into voting correctly, just like we do in Iraq.
I refuse to believe that Obama or Clinton and McBush are “neck and neck” when 82% of the country hates Bush and the Repukes hate McBush.
It doesn’t make sense.
Thank goodness this can’t be OT. With the californis Supremes decision about gay marriage, I am wondering if the current crop of legal gay marriages have managed to do better than the hetero’s 50% divorce rate.( By doing better, I mean have a lower incidence.) Wouldn’t that be a wonderful riposte to the “Ruining Marriage” attack. It seems that there is enough of a universe of marriages out there by now to study. Are there any stats out there?
That’s just because they have never heard the word “explosive” used instead.
Oh, please lord, don’t make me sneeze again. Damn hayfever.
Oh phew, because although I’m not always a huge fan he totally rocked this week. so kudos.
Nice entrance, Petro! ;-)
Shock stumping… it’s all they have.
rofl. I reserve that for vomit usually, as in explosive projectile vomit.
NDFG – check the traffic going through Austin before you guys head out. They have the southbound side closed down between Austin and Buda while they work on the bridges for the new toll road this weekend. I had to take a back roads detour to get home tonight. I don’t know if the northbound lanes are affected or if it is just southbound.
As a ramblin man that has walked on the wild side, I DO know what a waltzing matilda is, but alas, most do not. They don’t even use them anymore.
There are some very scenic ways around and some not so scenic. I can point you to either if you need them.
no kidding. that’s why they’ve fired up the “national security” engine already…
if we’re under attack I sure don’t want a psychopath at the helm (anymore).
((( CT )))
I wanted to add that Orchids ain’t the only thing growing “wild” in Paradise … *g*
I’ve seen a study done in Mass, that pegged it at a lower rate… But, seriously, I’m an equal opportunity kinda guy, why deprive them of the horrors of divorce…! ;-)
walk on the wild side
Write me.
Good evening friends. How’s everyone?
Da Spook prolly has one o’ them flying cars … *g*
thanks, gnome! we will check traffic info tomorrow b4 heading out and if necessary take alternate route. The heads-up is much appreciated.
too short a late nite visit but that’s it for me.
nite nite time. Gotta get some patriot sleep.
Divorce rates are lower (so far).. I used the argument yesterday on a AR blog.. quickly realized.. what difference does it make?
Don’t limit yourself. Our body politic has been infested with republicans. Everybody out, nearest exit. Explosive is good.
oh yeah
al says send us the scenic info to his gmail addy or to call my cell (his is recharging after being used as modem)
Howdy, Ma’am!
g’nite dosido
Wow, CE. I guess I’m tired. Did you say “bite me?” or if I am to write to you, how and what would you like to read?
Huh, ifeel so dopey now. well, I didn’t mean to offend esp. since I am turning into a bigger fan of Biden.
yow.
howdy sir
Working on trying to get Al and NDFG out of traffic tomorrow.
nite. gotta brush my teeth. nite. gotta get a drink of water. OK, nite.
Aloha, dosido!
No real difference. More of a smugness factor, I think, for all those self-righteous “Marriage is sacred, backbone of society” types out there.
I gotta meet Suzanne someday, in person. Way yonder smart and gets instantly what I’m talking about. And Eureka Springs, just got my hillbilly yacht out from the shop. Maybe this summer I’ll drag her over your way so we can wet a hook and do a toast.
Gnome was saying you were relatively pain-free today…?
*mwaah* right back at ya babe … Walk of Life
ok, pups, that’s it for me tonight. only had 2 hours sleep (click on my name of you want the ugly details) and am off to get some zzz’s….
Well, it was NOT that, but write me.
nite suzanne. sleep well and lots
Excellent idea! Looks like Summer starts tomorrow.
Aah, so soon…! Aloha, Suz!
G’ nite Suz
Commander Noodle Nuts is already backing down from his assault on Obama……What a child.
-G
Did anybody catch that idiot Roy Blunt R-MO denouncing the CA Supreme court in his fact-free diatribe. Whatta idiot. My take here.
yep. NONE of the expected muscle probs. Spine is nearly pain free and so is much of my back. Left leg is the next step!
Okay, Suzanne is gone, so now we can talk about her. Oh, wait, we are librulls and don’t really ankle bite and backstab and stuff.
We subpoena and eat popcorn in the cheep seats.
Roy “Unelected Judges” Blunt.
I think he’s smoked one too many blunts.
-G
What particularly was fact free in his diatribe was the fact the Cali Supremes are elected… D’oh… The facts seem to always leap up and bite ‘em the arse, eh? ;-)
G’nite Suz !
heh heh heh … now we can really cut loose
I think it was an article in the Hill today which suggested the WH was surprised by the D response.. and I thought, it’s about damn time you heard peoples disgust with your rhetoric.
I think he’s smoked
onetoomanyfew blunts.Betsy, I sent ya something on gmail …
Good night Suz sleep well it should cool off tonight>:)
Not so sure about the subpoena part anymore..)
LOL … sounds about right …
night Suzanne.
Nite Suz, hugs, hope you get some sleep.
JUst jumping in w/o having yet read the comments. Apologies.
What’s on my mind tonight? Lawyers, Guns and Money.
G’nite Suzanne…107 ugh….you have the best music on your blog…
((((( VG )))))
Oh yeah, subpoena’s are flying fast and furious around the hill. But they get ignored because the Democrats are wussies. Call a friggin cop already and drag’em in.
His surname defines his intellect
laughing so loud I woke the cat!
McBush must not win the general. McBush must not win the general. McBush must not win the general.
Why does Lady McBush have a bouffant/beehive that makes her look like a Star Trek character? WTF is up with that? Just sayin’.
That door is just too wide open for me.
Wexler sounds like he’s ready to slap inherent contempt on Rove …
I always thought of a Stepford wife. Mrs T&C
anyone hungry?
She keeps her pills in there.
-G
Woo Hoo … got some Vanilla Eye Keem to go with that ?
Yes, that’s it…only she controls teh moolah.
LOL…
That other guy, if it weren’t so late I’d remember his name and stuff, but he is hot. Said somebody needs to kick Rove’s ass.
Perhaps someone will suggest sending a fire inspector to Mrs. O’Leary’s barn.
Via rawstory … … Catholic Church offers therapy to cure Gays
I guess this means all their Priests are rehabilitated … /s
here ya go: http://burntlumpia.typepad.com…..g_0305.jpg
Conyers … they seem to be keying on Rove … which can bring down the House of Bush if they persist …
Perhaps the net is tightening…
Oh, well was a nice thought while it lasted…30 seconds…
Okay, now that’s just mean. The only home-cooked meals I get are ones I cook and I don’t use the oven unless the dryer is broke.
Tank oooo … *g*
Conyers? He’s all bark and no bite.. Pelosi cleans his tables too.
You’re not sharing your M & M’s tonight?
Remember Pickles Bush thinks the polls are malarkey because she gets to meet hand picked Kool-Aid sotted crowds.
Bush doesn’t realize that he’s reviled because he’s surrounded by ball rubbers like Rove and that nitwit who said she took an oath to support Chimpy McFlightsuit.
The anger factor must be even higher after he traipsed around with the Saudi despots only to be told to pound crude oil up his Gannon gulch.
Gas is nearing $4.00 in NH and MA…….People loathe Bush and Cheney.
-G
Conyers.
-G
Well folks, I shall bow out early! I bid ya’ll a fond adieu! Aloha Oe!!!
(mumble mumble) what m& m s?
Night CT.
good plan – keep rove diverted covering his ass.
OFG, just tell us next time you’re in Central Texas. We’ll feed you right.
Night gang.
The Dems had a good week. The GOP is melting down into a puddle of warm piss and tobacco juice.
-G
Ted haggard, the crystal methodist, is still not gay.
G’nite Buddy !
Nor is Foley or Craig..or..
Very good!
nite tuttle
Nite CT.
I think Conyers and Waxman have been painting Rove into a corner and will use their full powers against him … Meiers and the others are peons compared to Rove …
G’ nite CT & GB
Central Texas? Heck, I thought you moved to El Paso or some such. Are you around Austin or San Antone or Cut and Shoot? Central Texas is still mighty big, it has to be to provide football players for OU.
They wouldn’t be doing this unless they’ve got something substantial on him. JMHO
Nah. Cassie is in El Paso. I am near Austin, also Wangdangdoodle. Gnome de Plume is 40 miles south of us and a few others in San Antonio.
Perhaps.
But Rove, Addington, Myers, Bolten
…will never say anything to hurt Chimpy or Shooter.
What makes Rove a good test case is that the only plausible basis for a current or former executive branch employee to resist a Congressional subpoena is executive privilege…but in Rove’s case re the Siegelman affair, to invoke executive privilege is to implicate the White House in a purely partisan, political, nongovernmental scandal. To protect boosh, Rove has to claim he never discussed the Siegelman case with boosh. By doing so, he undercuts any claim of executive privilege. Or so it would appear.
However it plays out, I’d love to see them toss him in the clink, then drag him before Congress for a publicized hearing …
He might not have discussed it with W, but I’ll bet he discussed it with Abu Gonzalez.
I’ll settle for Congress with an oath.
The wide-stanced toe-tapper is so not gay, he didn’t even have to go to gay rehab to become not gay.
He just called a press conference and announced it.
I thought so, too. And so I re-listened to Mukasey’s first (and only, so far) appearance before SJC oversight…
He opened a huge window to privilege. I’ll try to find it.
LOL – football players for OU. Ain’t that the truth!
OK, I need to head to bed. Got lots of yard and orchid work to do tomorrow. I’ve e-mailed the detours to da Spook and Pharm Grrrl. They said they might stop by on the way through to drop off Betsy’s belated birthday present! (I think it is a pony.)
Remind me to thank Schumer for his support of Mukasey …
Actually when I posted “Lawyers, Guns and Money” I wasn’t thinking of this piece by Warren Zevon, but then I wondered where I might have picked up on the phrase. So, I did teh google. Up popped WZ youtube. Actually, I think I got the phrase somewhere else- only tuned into WZ after RGB posted some YouTube links in FDL threads. h/t RBG.
However, uh, there is a certain truthiness to the song… which kinda reflects my current mood. Aside from that, I did get a laugh.

Please give ‘em both a big hug from me !
Night Gnome. I’m out too.
Boys claim they’re staying up all night playing Grand Theft Auto, which they rented using my Blockbuster card. Oy!
Something I’ve been meaning to do that might be a kewl group project, Las Vegas takes any kind of bet you can think of. What is the over/under on a Democratic administration next year? What are the odds? How many senate seats? Who? Congressional races and who?
These guys weigh the polls and probably have some insight to “undisclosed tactics.” Does anybody have a link or know of a website that handicaps these races for gambling purposes?
I think it would be interesting to look at, especially if the odds were askew with the polls–it would indicate some upcoming swiftboating.
G’nite Gnome.
G’nite Betsy
but to claim exec privilege, MC Rove would have to disclose that he discussed it with Abu, and claim that Abu discussed it with boosh…which he simply cannot do. Unless he wants to be the next John Dean ala Watergate (no disrespect to John Dean intended. I like John Dean.)
Nite Betsy…those boys will sleep a little, I bet.
Yep. And Schumer both praised and scorned Mukasey in the hearing – nearly broke his own arm patting himself on the back for improvements, and whimpering about being “disappointed’ by the setbacks.
And a very special shout-out to DiFi as well.
yeah, i think they will.
They might not show their hand (so to speak) quite so early.
Pardon Dean!
Long time no see, VG. I usually do not have time to comment lately, but I try to read most posts. If anyone ever asks about me (gigantic meism complex) I throw in where I can.
Rove will have to look after his own sorry butt won’t he? If he says he never discussed it with Bush — no executive privilege. If he says he discussed it with Abu — he could throw Abu under the bus, and Abu could say, he discussed it with Bush, thereby invoking executive privilege and thereby throwing Bush under the bus. Or,…Rove lies and says he doesn’t know anything about it at all, but that doesn’t seem right either because why would he avoid talking to Congress. They’ve got him.
Maybe Abu’s been talkin’ in the back rooms to Conyers etal.
What about the 5th?
The argument Mukasey was making was directed at the committee, any committee in fact, being ineligible to subpoena anyone who had every worked for Chimpy.
Still looking. I have the transcript, and the vid of the whole hearing, but it’s tough slugging.
It is a horse race, and like at the track, the odds change as bets are placed to limit the liability of the house. Republicans cannot help themselves, betting on a sure thing when the fix is in, therefore a visible red flag could be seen before the first vote is cast. It is something I’ve thought about, and it would take someone way more sophisticated than me to plot this out.
One could go to past history like Siegelman or Hagel, clear upsets, find who won money where and seek patterns.
Yes. There is a certain beauty to it.
Be very interesting to look at Lamont Lieber history too.
Right. But, he could easily come in and claim the 5th right down the line if he was so inclined..why doesn’t he just do that? That is why I think they’ve got something specific on him that he can’t wiggle out of.
Mukasey knows this is a stretch and Waxman’s many attorneys will have him for Breakfast …
Did Mukasey base that argument on a John Yoo memo?
And I just want to say, tin-foil body-suit firmly in place, that I think these dirtbags have booby-trapped (or are booby-trapping) the joint, and their calculation is that their successor will have so many balls in the air that prosecuting this mess will be way down on the list.
Inherent Article 2, if I remember correctly.
One could use these patterns to forecast future “quirks” down to the precinct level, if the nerd herd used sufficient algorithms and shit for tubal ligations, er, I mean data compression. Unless somebody looks at it we may be missing a huge glaring Gestalt moment. Or, I could be way off base, comparing wagering to politics.
Wasn’t there a short-lived wild-ass scheme by DHS to set up an online lottery (no pay out) re: world political events?
I know what you are saying, but it can only really be executive privilege if a matter was discussed or concerned the executive. The point being to keep the secrecy of what the “executive” said to the person he/she interacts with. You can’t be shielded by executive privilege if the executive was not involved, so if they shield everyone then they are in effect saying that the executive “was” involved in “everything”.
Or a whole lot of illegal surveillance info/blackmail..
Mukasey is little different than AbuG, in that he knows when the game is over, and how to play for time. Mukasey, however, will not perjure himself to save these bums.
And since when is a “novel” (read fallacious) legal argument out of these guys range? Recall that Shooter isn’t even a part of any branch of government…
I am quite sure that Conyers has something concrete or he would not have made the “arrest” threat. He’s very careful. It seems like the situation where you don’t ask the question unless you already know the answer. Such a strong threat indicates that he’s got something that Rove can’t ultimately escape addressing. JMHO and I don’t know shizzola about anything.
If you’re Mukasey, and you want to shield your boss, and you know when the game is up, you spout whatever you have to to run the clock. It’s not illegal to do, and like all the others in ChimpCo, his reputation will forever be tarnished, but there it is.
They are running time.
Same here. Just telling you what I heard him say.
((((((((ES)))))))))
“My Gypsy days, long story..)
We’re all
ears, uh, eyes. That brings me back to my puzzlement as to why Mukasey would lay his “final” reputation on the line by covering these guys. The only thing I ever come up with is his involvement in the torture casework that Mukasey was involved in. Something went wrong, and they are all ultimately stuck in a Catch-22. Maybe the destruction of evidence…war crimes…suppression of evidence….
Something stinks, and they’ve got Mukasey on something too. Otherwise, he’s had a good career…why throw it away now?
I dunno. Sounds about right, a double-dog dare flout of hiding in plain sight. Seems I remember a crackdown of on-line gambling too, so it might be tough to do an off-site evaluation of this. I only know of two bloggers in the Vegas area. One is BobbyG, and he is an artist, not inclined for this kind of wonky stuff. The other is the radio talk show ex-beauty queen lady, a fabulous person, that has turned shill for Hillary at her blog, little green pantsuits or something. TeddySanFran introduced me to her, she has blogged here before. It is not a job for her either, but she may have some dutiful minions that could get it done.

What? No one asked what a waltzing Matilda is? Must be because everybody knows. Whoa, this is late night, no one here is more ignorant than me.
I was really afraid to ask! *g*
I feel the same way. He does have some shit on his shoes, though. The waterboarding fluffery. Before that, though, to ChimpCo’s dismay, ruled that Jose Padilla had a right to talk to counsel.
Mixed bag, as most judges are.
Almost 3 a.m. in Toronto … G’ nite all and have a great weekend !
This is a pretty smooth song:
Extra Golden – It’s Not Easy
Rest well petrocelli
This is a pretty good Kos diary about McBush’s bogus “foreign policy” experience:
http://www.dailykos.com/storyo…..373/517282
It is unfortunate to be known so well that carefully placed land mines are artfully avoided by, well, everyone.
This one however is benign (I lull you into complacency for the next time).
Recall the hobo and all his wares. The one and only symbol that undeniably and uniformly identifies the hobo is the long walkingstick and the small knapsack tied to the end that contained all his worldly possessions.
This walkingstick and knapsack is his waltzing matilda, doubling, as it were, for his dancing partner, in a much more romantic era.
A sad day when yesteryears hobos were more romantic than we.
G’nite Petro
“The waterboarding fluffery” !!!!! JFC, newt! Surely you can do better than that! You are starting to gain a certain reputation as a foul-mouthed fem blogger. You have standards to uphold!
nite petro
Eureka -
Very nice.
That sounds vaguely familiar…I think I heard that a long time ago…great story!
Has anyone noticed that HRC is just about out of cable news? I am laughing hard about that.
Hey VG!
I kinda thought invoking images of a porn-film set brought the same connotations without pissing on Noah Webster. My bad…
“to ChimpCo’s dismay, ruled that Jose Padilla had a right to talk to counsel.”
I am shocked, shocked. What a radical, left-wing, terrist-collaborating notion.
WHolary?
Bush, McBush, and Hitler have crowded her off the screen.
Yeah! Today, McThusula (™RevDeb) didn’t mention her once, and she got almost also-ran treatment from Tweety, etc.
And of course, the SuperDelegates are streaming to Senator Obama. It had to happen.
LOL!
Hoo boy. Defenders of Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, 4 others ask Guantanamo judge to dismiss charges.
Hartmann Bad, would be the thrust here.
Even Joe Scarborough took the week off…
Tweety is too pumped up with himself for showing up the “appeasement? Don’t expect me to know what appeasement means!” wingnut on his show that he has forgotten all about Sen. Clinton.
and OFG, hey! Didn’t mean to ignore you. Somewhat distracted by listing to/ watching this particular YouTube. Zevon classic, but with photos of top 10 dictators of 2006, etc. Kinda puzzled as to why dubya was left out, but I guess he would have had to have is own special category.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..re=related
Hmmmm…smells like the Hague….smells like..sniff, sniff, sniff…make a deal…
I saw that too. I had a judge tell me one time, in divorce hearings, that it was his job to insure that no one was happy. The merits of the case were irrelevant, since he had not heard them, but his barometer was that everyone that came before him lost. This was deemed justice.
Our press seems the same way. Since John McCain is snookered behind the Bush-ball, and all the Democrats are at third base slavering for points at home in an obvious and blatant overwhelming tsunami victory, well the press has yet to adjudicate the matter.
It was a tremendous few minutes of video. I just hope that Dems who show up to flack got the memo.
That, or it could give a boost to the “&^%#& Activist Judges!” meme when you put it together with yesterday’s California decision.
Now, I’m beginning to think there are two scenarios….Bushco quietly disappears into the cracks in the walls (again)…escaping accountability or…they start sh*t with Iran and Syria and cause all kinds of chaos, domestic and international..and try to hang onto power.
Those would be the two betting options in my book..
Yes, and as the beautiful moon waxes nigh unto full over the next few days, it’s the B option that has me all jumpy at the moment.
newt! ah, now I see what you were getting at!
although I am only using my imagination, as I, certainly, have never been on a porn-film set. uh…. and you?
And, according to Merriam-Webster online, there is no such word as “fluffery”, much to my surprise.
Like the conversations we’ve had here about Blackwater ruling the streets for the ChimpyJunta, it just won’t happen.
Too.Many.Patriots.
But as for the chaos part, it works to their advantage in either scenario. I agree with that part.
Valley Girl:
Urban Dictionary has it, but I don’t think they got it right…
They “do” stuff in the dark of the new moon usually. We know they have sent more of the fleet to the M.E. recently, and we know that Cheney was recently there and now W was just out there. Either it really was regarding oil…or, most likely, it was a lie and he was filling the “friends” in on what is up. With Fallon gone…it is scary….I hope I’m paranoid.
The day may yet come when we thank the Founders for the Second Amendment…
We are all Shakespeare here in the ’sphere. We make the language up as we go.
Took a quick shot at google – too much out. They’ve been deep into gaming re: FEMA events and, as you pointed out, going after online gambling.
Don’t think I imagined it. If memory serves, they briefly put up some kind of beta and response was snickers and accusations of hypocrisy.
Did you seriously look up the word “fluffery” on Merriam-Webster online? Wait ’til me and you are in a crowded room together.
You will be so pleased.
I agree. My Austrian friend told me that he considers the 2nd Amendment a deterrent to tyranny, because he said the first thing the Nazis did was register arms and disarm the people. Same thing happened in Haiti when Duvalier took over.
290 million people, 82% or so think Chimpy is a liar and criminal and his entire cadre is the brains behind the criminal regime-
Guns or no guns, we’re way too big.
Well
saidstated as always LS. Dare I hope Obama’s apparent fearlessness scares them so much all these cockroaches opt to disappear into the cracks, thus sparing our beleaguered nation more angst from Bush’s psychotic cult.OFG- yes, seriously, I did look it up. I had thought “fluffery” meant something like “general silliness”. Uh, the point of the rest of the comment? My imagination is reeling! Wait, wait, don’t tell me…
VG,
Wikipedia has everything you would ever want to know about fluffing, if not the fluffery form of the word itself…
I agree. I just want to retain the right.
Since you mentioned it…
Urban Dictionary for “fluffery”
As do I.
It seems to me right now that they are slinking away….I just want them to do that rather than trying to grab ultimate power with some emergency power. I’m hopeful…but cautious.. I’ll feel better when their bags are in the moving trucks..
I am not a gun owner, by the way. And I have argued that the Second Amendment applies only to the right of states to form armed militias, not to individual ownership of assault rifles, machine guns, etc.
But with the recent talk of cancelled elections, etc., I have begun to listen to the other point of view…
Not that I would personally ever intend to exercise such rights
I found out I was a gun owner a few years ago, when I finally opened one of many boxes of stuff left when my maternal grandfather passed.
2 Derringer pistols – one had obviously been carried around a while, and the other is a perfect chrome-plated collector.
I could not even mount them for display.
neuro- well I had already gotten a clue as to what a fluffer is, based on FDL reading a long time back. Like “Pool Boy is a fluffer”. For some reason, I didn’t think of that when reading “fluffery”
And, yeah, that wiki does have some interesting info, and I’m only in to the first paragraph:
“Erectile dysfunction drugs such as V**gra have also taken part in replacing fluffers” gosh, the stuff I didn’t know!
Same here. I believe in the concept that the government must be subordinate to the people rather than the people being subordinate to their government. The actions of this Administration do not seem to be that of the will of the people.
That is funny and I’m sure true…fluffagra..
Well, that’s it for me. Good nite, folks.
Okay, I’m outta here. G’nite y’all. Peace on earth, goodwill to all life.
nite neuro
nite LS
slinking off myself – take care of it, pups
okey dokey, newt. Course I had to check out some other words while I was there, just because, well, I was curious. And now I know the various meanings of “fluffernutter”.
Open link at your own risk, for those easily shocked.
http://www.urbandictionary.com…..ffernutter
gosh, one never knows where a late nite thread is going to end up, does one?
I assume our govt is busy devising technology to sniff out weapons from distances (even satellites?) and pinpoint em on goggle maps.
Then the “if it can be done, it will be done” principle kicks in.
I am a creature of the theatre. Juxtaposing incongruent tactiles (I just made that word up, prolly not in the dictionary) for contrast is sport for me.
You are like so not me. The difference is that I get you, but you are so hopelessly clueless about me.
Don’t “reel your mind” but be prepared for a little limelight and good-natured rapport from a fellow blogger.
One year or five or ten, someday we shall be in the same room together, hopefully surrounded by others at fdl that are aware of my intent. The electricity builds, don’t you think?
VG, you are so undeniably cute.
Okay, enough of the personal soap operas. What are the Vegas bookie odds that Karl will do a perp walk before President Obama is sworn in?
Thanks for the link :-)
On the three block street where we reside there are Obama yard signs popping up and am very jealous cause mine hasn’t arrived yet. Our Republican mayor’s home near Carmel beach should soon be surrounded by Obamana yard signs if this trend continues. I
hopepray it will. mrbrat gave me a cell phone recently and it has a photo feature that I trust I can figure out how it works so I can document the yard signs in our tiny one square mile village of Carmel-by the Sea. Stay tuned for updates as our primary election draws near.Gonna join the other sleepy heads and thank y’all for another great late late late nite kickoff to the weekend. Sweet dreams intrepid and delightful firedogs. poof…..
I think it more likely someone will compel him to testify in such a way as to render everything he says inadmissible. Don’t think that’s particularly likely either.
I’m gone too. Thanks for the very excellent company.
yo
thanks. my dad was soldier in Australia and sang that song a lot growing up … Waltzing Mathilda, W… M… you’ll come a-waltzing Mathilda with me…. never knew… though what was the next line… something about a billy-club?
Mornin’, Raven -
Hope you saw the note I left you yesterday shortly after you left the “gun battle”; was keeping hands locked securely behind head to avoid wading in with comments about the huckster’s cr @ p. Who was that “visitor”…..troll or not?
You’re one of a very few select people I’d trust to watch my back if the need should arise. Love ya’, bro’ (if it O.K. to use that term – seems common among veterans and but not sure whether it’s appropriate coming from a non-military person). Don’t mean to offend b/c it’s used with the greatest respect.
How’s the most recent furry child doing these days?
Hey, twin!
And he sang as he sat and waited while his billy boiled, you’ll come a waltzin’, Mathilda with me. ???
Good morning everyone.

Hey! I was cool, we rented the Tod Haynes Dylan flick so it was easy to bail. Lil but is a bundle of joy and she and the Bodhi get along fine. We are not making alot of progress on the itching, I ordered some stuff called mirco tec that is a sure fire cure for everything that ails here! Busy day here, our farmers market is moving from my morning hangout (the bakery) to a park which is good for everyone but me! Mrs boo boo has a breast feeding expo and then we have a big gig for some friends tying the knot on the 4th of Juky so jambalaya is up again, but only for 50 this week!
It was a haunting background to “On the Beach”.
Hey, check out our roses, I sent it to Christy but I don’t know how pictures get picked.
wow!
Those are gorgeous. How do you get so many blossoms, tons of fertilizer?
Well, when I said “our” that was a real stretch. My bride is an amazing gardener, They
came from her aunt’s farm in Virginia.
She says tons of really good compost. And with that I bid you good day!
Thanks. Have a great day.
Wouldn’t ya know…….he takes off on us without *really* divulging (sp?) secrets. *g* “Compost” covers a lotta territory tho’ it sounds like it’s really the missis we need to be talking to. Was wondering about name but if it came from his aunt’s farm may be one of those old varieties whose identity is lost in time. Looks like it might be a rebloomer and maybe very fragrant. Yum!
I can’t do flowers unless I fence them in because the deer eat everything (except daffodils). But I’m getting tempted to establish a flower garden. so I’m accumulating information. Heirloom flowers would be the ticket, as my house is historic. But probably roses that grow so well in Georgia would not work well in the mid-Hudson. The wife of the farm stand family down the road does gorgeous flowers, so I’ll tap her knowledge if and when.
Rain is over for now, so I’m off for more outdoor work.
Boy, those are beautiful. I have a variety of roses, but there is one that has taken off and grows like wild. I don’t remember ever planting it, but now there are 7 or eight about the yard. It looks like Raven’s, but it’s a deep red/maroon. Not nearly as lush, either, unfortunately.
You’ll have fun with heirlooms, eCAHN.
Well acquainted with the deer problem…on the eastern NC island they have mowed the few roses I have down to almost nuttin’; stakes with some bird netting thrown over helps a bit. Local gardeners are always a good source of info. If you get into roses, be sure to look at those developed by the David Austin company. England is home but they also have a U.S. base in Texas as well. See http://www.davidaustinroses.com. Excellent custom service dept…you can talk to a human being who will advise you as to best varieties for your particular geographic location!
Thank you, thank you. Good morning!
I left cuz I thought no one would be around till the next posting. Nice surprise.
When I came back I noticed more comments. Then my screen froze and I was fighting to get back in.
I saw a bit of Alexandra on youtube. Very strong and lovely woman. Will check out more later.
That Matilda song… I was little and used to get indignant my dad would be singing about this Matilda woman so gustily around my mother. Very codependent was I. Anyway… turns out Matilda was a walking stick. How ironic.
My computer misbehaving today. Hope this posts. :)
Did you get the same reaction I had about the soft speech combined with wicked smart?
WRT computer hiccups…..that extended business yesterday with the server problem and not being able to get to the Lake sent a lot of us into withdrawal (based on comments on some of the subsequent threads). *g*
I’m in love with roses.
I once worked for a rose pool, would come home with bunches and bunches of “blown open” sweethearts. Imagine the joy of a hundred roses or two in the room. *sigh* Any and all colors, I’m ’specially fond of the picotees. And yellow, yellow’s reliably the most fragrant color.
Good Morning everyone.
Got to go to the Chelsea Flower Show in London several years back which is where I was introduced to David Austin. Their display was under roof and covered a HUGH area…..in a HUGH building. Every plant at peak bloom, natch. The combined fragrance just hit ya upside the head when ya walked in the door and only got better the closer you came to their area. One of the very best experiences in more than six decades; could have died that day and gone out happy. :-)
Hey, Mm!
Hi Waccamaw how ya been?
Worse? Better? Who knows? Still around and kickin’, so guess that counts for something. *g*
Sittin’ here in stitches b/c I *just* finished reading a free-lance piece in the nearest big paper titled “Do you really want to know how I am?” Apologies if the first line comes across as snarky or anything….didn’t mean it to be.
What’cha been up to lately? Making hats or otherwise occupied?
The Chelsea flower show sounds wonderful!
Before the Philadelphia Flower Show moved to the Civic Center, part of the experience of going was snaking in line along through to the ticket window, and then around and down the escalators to the exhibit hall.
And ALWAYS, just as you could start to see the show appear before you, you’d be hit with the fragrance of a thousand thousand blooms. It’s not the same in the new place.
MM, any new goodies from the bakery?
Anybody else here having problems with the new comments box?
I keep getting the script busy or…do I continue or cancel?
If I do a refresh, it’s takes forever…
I appreciate any and all advice.
Waiting for Pull Up a Chair.
Have heard that’s one of, if not the best, in the States. If you live nearby so you can go every year, you are sooooooooo lucky!
And what the heck is a “rose pool” anyway?
Good morning, pups. It’s Collins, Blow and Herbert in the NYT today. La Collins has a question about “McCain’s Superfuture:” If the Arizona senator’s domestic vision is far removed from reality, what does that say about his plan for international harmony via military interventions? Charles Blow, the Times’ visual columnist, writes about “Skirting Appalachia.” He says Barack Obama is unlikely to win the heart of Appalachia in the general election, but he may not need to if he can make up ground on its northern frontier. Mr. Herbert writes about “Hard Roads Ahead,” and says at a time when the nation is faced with tough economic challenges, it’s incredible that more is not being done about the poor performance of American high schools.

The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready, and I’ve got waffles this morning with maple syrup or honey butter. It’s a perfectly gorgeous day today. I’ve got cats indicating that they want their breakfast NOW, so I’m going to go feeding… Have a great day.
There may be some continuing problems from yesterday? For me at least the site was down for hours. Seems okay here this morning, though.
I sometimes get a box that says “unresponsive script” I stop the script, then it’s back to normal.
it’s like a co-op of growers.
Waccamaw_ That sounds like a funny piece that you’re reading/read. Is it online. I’m doing good, just waiting to hear from grad school, haven’t really been into making to many hats of late, the most creative thing I’ve doing is being the props master for our local theater.
Elliot_ Yea what is rose pool? No treats this am from the bakery. I have piece of leftover Strawberry Shortcake that a coworker made for my birthday, which is today.
Thank you Elliot. :)
We gonna get CHS this am?
Oh, yeah… I’ve been getting that too recently.
Thanks for the Collins this morning to go with the *mMmm* waffles
Happy Birthday, MM! Hope it’s a great one for you… (((Millineryman)))
Well, then, this is for you:

Many happy returns of the day.
As a matter of fact there’s a most egregious PUAC upstairs right now.
Happy Happy Birthday MM!!
Joys the whole year for you!
Happy Birthday, MM!
Thanks Marion, demi, Elliot and LooHoo!
demi_I used to call my friends and leave that song on their answering machienes back in the day. I just love it.
Loo Hoo-That cake looks very much like some hats if you separate the layers.
Well, bless your heart, darlin’, and happy birthday!
Now you gotta realize…..I’m Southern and here to tell you that that “bless your heart” business can be translated in a number of ways, both positive and negative. And the one you’re seeing is meant in the very bestest way!
Will hit teh google and see if it’s on-line for you….will leave a note here in EPUland or at PUAC as to results.
MM -
Birthday present for you…..enjoy!
