Jeez - how sick are these people? I’ve been very concerned that some one will take a shot at Sen Obama and security, from reports, has been pretty slack at his events. We do not need The Huckster giving some whacko the sense that God is commanding it.

Where’s you get that about the security at his events?

I came into Bloomington Indiana on April 30. The airport shuttle dropped me at the Hampton Inn, and as it happened the shuttle driver unloaded an extra bag by mistake which I took in to the desk clerk. Now on April 30 Barack was speaking in Bloomington, and the desk clerk joked that it was good that I brought the bag in before one of the 75 Secret Service agents staying there saw it, as it would have held up getting the bag returned to its rightful owner.

My point is that Barack does have a pretty massive security detail at this point.

This is the kind of fucking bullshit we really need to strike back against. These smirking assholes got away with the bandaids mocking Kerry at their pig lovefest and it made dems look weak to just take it. No more.

All week the MSM has been saying Obama will be the nominee…”unless something catastrophic happens”..when referring to Obama. It has to be a “talker”. How despicable!!!

My understanding is that they genuinely like him, even shoot the hoop with him.

Actually, I have to say that I figured the incident with Huckabee was just what you find with nearly all of these politicians who like to indulge the “manly sports” — they don’t know their asses from their hands. I used to see this all the time in Idaho — guys who only ever donned hunting vests for the photo ops (because they were nearly always lawyers).

In other words, Huckabee did not out of maliciousness but because he is a dumbass who doesn’t know the first rules of gun safety. Believe me, keeping the gun pointed in the opposite direction of any fellow humans is about Rule No. 1. (Cheney failed that one too.) In other words, he obviously never even took (or flunked) your basic NRA Gun Safety Class.

Even tho’ you’ve stepped away, may I please tell you there are days I just want to reach thru’ the toobz and give you a whoppin’ big hug.

i have heard many on fdl lately harking to others about their leanings and how they are affected by different experiences.

it got me to thinking that i would like to someday, after i can control my mouth towards norske and the obama pile-on hyenas, ( : ) )like to do/see a post about what caused people to have a conscience and tenderness toward others in the world?

i would name the movies i listed above.

i would like to do a post on what affected people to think about others…….i can name them in my life, i am curious about what has affected others in this way.

i wonder at how many can actually name how/shy they were affected and am very curious which ones would be able to do that………very……

meanwhile, i’ll keep writin’ my letters. and doin’ what i do.

While I agree that the ‘thugs are co-opting all kinds of nationalistic/patriotic symbols, I’m not sure I’d go as far as accusing them of aping Hitler. To me it looks like the business-as-usual corporate sponsorship/branding thing. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen those type of backdrops on vids of Microsoft conferences, etc. Certainly the “celeb photo walls” at all the awards shows look alot like that–sponsor names/logos plastered all over.

I don’t hunt but grew up around hunters and have a lot of friends and family who do hunt.

New York State has a two tier deer hunting season with rifle in the Northern Tier (basically north of the NY Thruway) and shotgun in southern tier. One of my co-workers refused to go hunting during the Southern Tier season. He called it the Amateur Hour because it was mainly all the great hunters out of the city who had no clue what they were doing.
