Michele Obama is a pain in the ass. She acts like the world owes her a living and that she is doing everyone a favor by even showing up. Complaining that they are “like everybody else” when it comes to finances, while whining that dance, gymnastics and piano lessons for “her girls” costs $10,000 a year and puts a big bite into their budget, is just laugh out loud ridiculous. As far as I can tell he has no core values to speak of but I think she has an agenda. If so, watch out.

I think another factor is if Hillary withdraws it opens the way for a major compromise regarding the Michigan and Florida delegations. If she stays in the race until the Convention these delegations are very likely going to be held out. But if she withdraws the delegates are then “released”. While they could issue a dissenting vote for Clinton, they are no longer “pledged” to her…andmany may actually vote for Obama because a) he supported the compromise reached by the Michigan Party leadership that would have brought them in EVEN with a majority pledged to Clinton, and b) Clinton opposed that compromise, embarassing her own supporters in the Michigan Democratic party and continuing the threat that they may not participate in the Convention.

Clinton will increasingly be trapped by this issue. I wouldn’t be surprised that even if the seating of the delegation is approved by the rules Committee that the committed delegates may not vote for her. She’s now the one blocking the participation of the Michigan delegation.

Both Michigan and Florida can participate if Hillary steps down.

It is too early to count Clinton out as VP. It will depend on how the political landscape looks in August.
If it looks like a blowout win, then she won’t be seriously considered. If it is close and he still hasn’t connected with her base, then she will be seriously considered.
Also, don’t forget about the possibility of a black swan.

She gave the rebuttal to Bush’s State of the Union. She may be a good Governor, but she came off a poor speaker and lukewarm communicator. I don’t think she would be very good on the campaign trail.

Speaking of which, did you see Chris Dodd wish Tim Russert a happy Mother’s Day. You talk about dead silence on the screen! Russert didn’t seem to know what to say. That’s right! It caught Russert speechless! I had to wonder if it was deliberate! After all, don’t we all really think Russert is a Mother!

Unfortunately, even choosing “outsiders” usually winds up with one of two occurences - either the outsiders get corrupted by the insiders (think the Clintons or Reagan et al), which seems to be the most common occurrence, or the outsider gets dragged through the mud and out the door after one term (Jimmy Carter anyone?).

Either way, outsiders don’t last long in DeeCee.
