Popcorn anyone?
g’evening pups
I thought it was decided that Firepups did not like Marvin the Martian.
hey suzi, chocolate?
gnome, i thought they decided they did
*cheeks turning red* oh dear
please… is it from the chocolate hippies?
Hey – down in front! :-)
Suz, fwiw — I haven’t been seeing the “new post has been published” thingy during the last couple of threads
Thank you for this one!
thanks, ll, i thought it was just me
tech crew has been advised LL
Will the techies check into it? It is kinda frustrating, after having the luxury for some time…! ;-)
Suz, you rawk.
Bob Hebert NYT is unhappy with the Clintons with their “white” support remarks and unloaded today their old baggage. Wow the NYT endorsed them he has stones.

So a good good evening to all.
You know that place in the MIB movie where they fight the cockroach … those Worlds fair “space ships”…… I go right by that when I go from JFK airport into NYC….. it is….. Oh look that is the MIB place then go through the tunnel too…
Don’t worry. I think it was from a slow night where we were trying to figure out where everyone was.
how forking kewl, katymine…
what me worry?
Anyone up for wedding cake?
Or Groom’s cake?
This is me, catching the ribbon of the bouquet and pulling down one of the roses with it!
Hi, Suzanne
G’evenin’ Pups
FunnyD
I really get teased a lot…… going around NYC…… Oh look that is where movie X had that scene….. last time we toured Grand Central Station…. so it was the movie The Witness and that scene in the Untouchables with Sean Connery….. the stairway & the baby buggy…… heaven forbid during a walk through Central Park was …. Oh that episode of Law & order murder was over there….
Have. hit. the. wall. ‘Night everybody!
Hi Funnydiva/
nite LL
sleep well LL.
Here is a Digg for Suz you all can help with!! Get your shovels out and start Digging!
Aloha, LL!
You got robbed Tex! ;-)
Night, LL
Hi, Betsy, how are ya? How’s La Snarkita?
What happened to PicasaWeb? I’m not a Face-Bookie, so I can’t get to your wedding pics.
Suz, can I have my fork back, please? Katymine, it’s forkin’ kewl that you have a fun frame of reference for visiting NYC. Not being a pop-culture maven myself, I’d be a little lost, except in Central Park: Oh, that’s where the filmed the big production number in Enchanted.
FunnyD
when i lived in san francisco, it was the same thing. was the 70’s and there were a lot of tv shows shot in sf then.
Suzanne, shouldn’t the headline read “Late Late Night at the Movies”?
where they filmed…
durrrr
FD
nope, we are lake nite at the movies on sat nights
unless ya’ll don’t like cartoons and a movie…
FunnyD, Snarkita is doing great. Very busy with dozens of school activities and the teen center on base. Blogging less often but still blogging. She can’t access FDL from the base.
Can’t forget Central Park’s Strawberry Fields, ala John Lennon…! ;-)
Heh. Now they only shoot exterior/wide shots and do the rest in Toronto, ala Monk.
FunnyD
fork the shizz is back in your hands funny
does anyone know why I can’t view the videos from FDL in firefox?
Its been that way for a while…
Well…if you say so.
FunnyD
what browser are you using and are you using any plugins?
Thanks. LMK when you want to borrow it back.
How’s Token and the Kitty?
FunnyD
duh, firefox in your question… what plugsin? adblock and noscript are some of the plugins that can block a utube
I can’t see anything youtube from work. are you behind a firewall?
FF and adblock plus and flashblock
I can view them from other websites
Y’all like the groom’s cake in 19?
token is sleeping in his chair next to me. bailey is laying wait for any birds at the bird feeder. she does not seem to realize (1) they are not there at night and (2) the birds can see her on the shelf below the window even when she is behind the plants
It was very civilized. I was worried it was going to be the texas armadillo cake with the blood red center that seems to be in fashion.
OK. Put the wedding pix up on picasa. Here ya go.
He’s originally from Louisiana, if that helps.
i bet you accidently blocked an blockable element in one of your plugins. try disabling them one at a time – refresh to see if the utube shows, if not, then enable that one and move on to the next one.
i think utubes do need flash…
Adblock doesn’t block utubes for me. What kind of a computer Mac or Pc??
i should have been specific… adblock plus
Me to, thats what I am using :>)
PC which has survived three virus storms…..
under ABP options, there is an option for showing tabs on java and flash…
Well that didn’t work….. now just see two blocks of white space….. hmmm will try the reboot later tonight
link to movie
link to toon
Meanwhile, my Mac just works & FFox (no add-ons)…
No virii, Trojan Horses, worms, spyware.
stop with da braggin!
setting glare to stun
So does my decrepit HP XP, with Safari, Newt! 8-P
I am such a dunce of a mother….. really did not pay attention to what day it is….. it is my daughters birthday…. Oops
*ducking just in time*
she is sooo gonna fire you katymine
It’s pretty good.
Too bad about MSN, though.
Thanks, Betsy!
You look great. And what an elegant and tasteful way to handle the centerpieces.
FunnyD
but the birthday just started, right katy?
aren’t they gorgeous? and inexpensive to boot!
Hey, no fair glaring poor Newton just because you didn’t think to get one, honey.
You can do such a thing? Fire a Mother…? ;-)
my daughters both tell me that when i blow it… like forgetting a birthday … dance recital…
that i’m fired
My kid fires me about once a week CT.
dammit, rbg locked the forking punishment room door
Na…. just ending…. both kids coming over for Mothers Day dinner….. well better scoot out to the store early……. Daaamn
Just disable it for Firedoglake. If that doesn’t work rebooting may be the only other option. As for Virus storms I would recommend trying the following: http://support.dell.com/suppor…..#038;s=gen
Try using one of the free online scanners (use the same as the one that you have installed)
Also try Microsoft’s http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm this one takes quite a bit of time so wait until you have time. After that bring to the Doctor… :>)

I believe mine has an ironclad lifetime contract. No loopholes. No arbitration clause.
Sure. But they are less trouble than the alternative.
Ya. Beautiful and inexpensive. Well…low/no cost of labor, so really nice things like Stargazer lilies become quite affordable. I’m going to have to remember that trick.
FunnyD
Happy Mothers Day Suz and all you other mothers.
of course, when i get fired by one of my girls, i respond back with ‘the mother’s curse’
may you have children just like you
thanks mommybrain – and happy mother’s day to you
My son’s “I hate you, Mom’ doesn’t count, right? ;-)
Oh he doesn’t hate me. Just thinks I am weird and embarrassing.
(laughing) when my girls would tell me that, i would respond that means i’m doing my job right
We could get into this BUT…. One day it will catch up ….nah they will always be just sideshow to the main event! And the hackers won’t pay attention to you guys… not enough of the mac to make it fun for them :>)
That means you are doing something right…..
“Course, I get the ‘I hate you Dad’ daily, Mom only get’s it weekly…! I’m so mean…! ;-)
Hey, I can feel’em creeping up.
That’s my philosophy…! ;-)
I forgot that the armadillo cake with the red velvet interior was from Steel Magnolias. When I googled the images there sure were some interesting grooms’ cakes. Last year when one of my daughter’s friends got married, the grooms cake had portraits of their dogs on it. It was very cute.
Now there is something I can whole hardley agree with… But things do get better once they see for themselves just what it takes to raise a kid themselves,,, Gets way better … they actually understand why you did the things you did .
Hmmm. Does that mean you truly wear the pants in the family?
FunnyD
Da Big Orger you mean… Boy did I have that role down!
Tried MicroTrend…. that app took over my computer and nearly drove me nuts…
When Texteen was a toddler, the very first time he was mad at me, he didn’t quite have the words. So he said “You not my FWEND!” I answered “That’s OK. I am still your mama.”
did he stamp his feet and walk away?
My wife disputes that…! ;-)
Bill Cosby has a whole routine on “the curse,” yes that one, and it is hysterical.
I like Symantec better… but you do need it to let it do it’s work… Just take a break from it!
oh lard yes… chocolate cake for breakfast
But Shooter was only a CongressCritter back th… nevermind.
wasn’t that the same hbo special that had the dentist bit?
Someone has to create the “Annals of Villiany.” And men/women of letters have to argue why Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowtiz, and the rest of that horrible neocon crew need to have their names remembered alonside Goering, Eichmann, Hitler, etc. They may not have matched those men in numbers, but they did in terms of evil.
Then there’s Eddie Murphy talking about his mom’s deadly aim with a shoe…

grandparents
You (and I on occasion) have opined on the complicity of the Democrats in all this, particularly in the House.
Think they would sacrifice their own necks to get slightly more culpable fiends?
probably
I had pecan pie for breakfast this morning…
i had pound cake
I want cake for breakfast!
Guess that means I ought to go to sleep at some point and wake up for breakfast.
Goodnight all!
pain free sleep wishes tex (and cake for mother’s day breakfast)
not 2ton cake?
nite betsy
thanks suz!
(Kid doesn’t get home from hebrew school till 12:30, so cake pretty unlikely!)
Heh. And I just took a chocolate-chip Devil’s food cake out of the oven, and fully intend to have it for breakfast (with the strawberry frosting and toasted pecan/chocolate chip sprinkles). And I fully expect my Buster Kitten to say “Awwww, not tuna again, mom!”
Actually, he’s a good boy. Only took him 10 min to forgive me for the trip to the vet today.
FunnyD
I had Crab Cakes for lunch.
2ton always wanted cake for breakfast
G’night, Betsy. Sleep well and have a good Mother’s day!
FD
*sigh* that is so not fair
Betsy, you looked beautiful. Some guy there has his eye on you, I know it.
Nah. I’m looking for a Jewish guy. Think I was the only Jew there today. But thanks.
It was a graduation lunch for middle son’s lady. She graduated from Menlo College Magnum Cum Lada? Spelling?
good night for real this time.
Oh shoot, sorry.
Hi, Margot. I second that, though it’s tough to imagine a guy good enough for our Aunt Petunia.
OK, pups, it’s been fun. I promised myself I’d go to bed before midnight tonight, so I best mosey.
Be excellent to each other!
FunnyD
g’nite funny d – enjoy that cake
Aunt Petunia! LOL!
bite diva
Hi FunnyD, Suz, and all the rest of you!
Magna cum laude.
Oops, that was probably a rhetorical “spelling?”.
Menlo College–is that in the Bay Area?
This time for realzies. Poof!
FunnyD
got baby girl on the phone – she had her emt practical for her state license today…
Nice!
Go BabyGirl!
Yes! In Menlo Park on the peninsular half way between SF and SJ
Hopes she passed!! :>)
You go, Baybee Grrrrrrl!
Sounds like public safety runs in the family. Good for her.
How are you tonight wigwam. Always like your comments, Ctuttle and Ian Smith’s. Relieves my sense of isolation.
hope she passed, Suzanne! *grins*
Didn’t Warren Zevon write a song that mentioned that place?
That’s the only time I ever heard of it…
Thought so. My mom graduated from Menlo-Atherton high and Foothill college. I grew up in Sunnyvale. I’m sure I’d hardly recognize the ol’ stompin grounds these days. Except for the Stanford land and other open space that was wisely preserved from development. I don’t feel that old, but S’vale still had the Cali Bros feed mill and the Mariani fruit drying yard until I was a teenager.
Dang! Wish I knew how to quit you, FirePups!
a bientot
FunnyD
Let’s start a National Referendum. Cities, Counties and States are pissed. Vallejo Ca declared bankruptcy. This war is destroying our country while Bushco is walking with the national treasury.
I bet he meant Menlo Park, NJ, but what do I know.
Not sure checked with my lady and she thinks so.
she had her practical and skills exam today in salt lake city – the written is 5/23 and she gets her results of the practical – if she failes within 4 to 5 days and if she passed, results in .
i got the step by step description everything she was tested on today
No Cherry trees any more either… I do miss being able to buy great cherries down in Sunnyvale just off El Camino… OH well. My kids graduated from Woodside HS.
crap, if she passes, she doesn’t find out for 3 or 4 weeks
Yep. Hurry up and wait.
does she get retries for the practical?
You’re too kind, just got back from an alcohol run, (beer, in my case, mudslides for the mrs…)!
Rich enclave, very stuck up. Almost as bad as Palo Alto.
it was her first practical. when they did the critical incident at school, she was still battling pneumonia and they made her the safety officer – she sat in a chair with a clipboard and did not actually work patients.
beer
How does she feel she did, Suz…?
she said her first reaction was she did ok but then on the drive back to st george, she was second guessing herself.
we will find out if she gets a priority mail in a few days if her first reaction was wrong and the second guessing right. truly is a case of no news will be good news
Time for bed … have to make brunch for the lady of the house … Noahs garlic bagels with smoked salmon, cream cheese red onion, chopped tomatoes and chopped Greek peppers… then fresh lemon juice on top… Then we go to her moms and I am cooking boneless leg of Lamb, twice baked potatoes with steamed veggies… I don’t have to do dessert :>)
So on that note Happy Mothers Day to you good Mothers and good night:>)
I forgot about that. Pharmacists find out faster than i got to find out if i passed my own Certification boards. Took 2 or 3 weeks for me too! Pharmacists are lucky and usually find out within a week, i think. That way they can set up the next round to try again for their state and national licensing.
Usually your first reaction is truer, the second guessing is only a natural response and invariably dour…!
g’nite nahant – sounds like a great dinner for your lady
i read her all your well wishes and i could hear the smile in her voice as she said to tell ya’ll thanks
Aloha, nahant! Excellent job!
Took my RN boards back in the dark ages…… they lost the results for my group and did not find out for 4 months…..
ohmystars.. how horrible
she gets her second guessing from me – in case ya’ll hadn’t figured that out…
It must be nice to be so sure of ones’ self, like Shrub, eh? ;-)
Even worse is that I moved from Missouri back home to CA and could not get a job or apply for my CA license until I had those results in hand…….
gargh! o_0!!! I’d have killed ‘em. I had a hard enough time waiting on my Pharm Tech certification results!
Oh, and i passed the phone interview easily friday morning. Now i go onto the 2nd tier, the face to face with the supervisor of the pharmacy at the hospital. I got through the HR Recruiter/guard dog. (with a definite idea that they don’t get many completely certified AND experienced applicants.) If that’s successful i’m thinking i’ll have a job offer by the end of the month. But that’s IF it happens. Hoping for the call to set up the face to face on monday morning or sometime tuesday. Then i leave town bright and early on thursday for Chicago. :D
sweet! fingers and toes crossed ya get the face to face monday or tuesday, get the job offer wed, and are off to chicago on thursday with a new job in hand.
katymine, how was it resolved?
Heh, and watch’em want to hire ya immediately… Sayonara, holiday…! ;-) (ducking…)
Best of luck! Been a mighty fight, sounds like.
no responsible employee would require a prospective employee to cancel previously made plans to go out of state in order to start immediately.
there is that whole giving notice thang they understand
You have to understand this was the dark ages….. called the nursing school who tracked it down and who I needed to call. They lost the results for all of my classmates… they finally showed up then had to go through all the steps to get licensed in CA…..
Aww… Party pooper! Can’t I have a little fun…? ;-)
geez, what gets me is that no one had noticed until you complained after 4 months. no one else in your class did?
Hell no :P Hotel’s paid for, train ticket’s reserved and the entry badge is in my suitcase all set to go. If i go in on wednesday before work on for an interview, i’m letting them know i’ll be out of town on a vacation that’s been planned since january. I’m pretty sure they’ll be patient enough for me to give my current employer notice and then i can scoot out of there by june.
I’m a brat, but i’m a fairly responsible one when it comes down to it. *laughs* I’m still on pins and needles either way. It’s been 4 years since my last interview (for entry level type jobs and this is NOT entry level!) so i’m hoping i don’t flub it. I’ve never actually been able to search out something non entry level before now. So it’s a whole new experience, one i’m hoping that turns out to change things for the better!
you’ve worked dayam hard to get here alias and i’m so very happy for you
*to new and better experiences*
I’m still aghast that my Grandma was on the bathroom floor with a broken hip all night in a nursing home…! My Mom has assured me that she’s going to get to the bottom of it…! I’m hoping everything will turn out alright , but, I also know what a broken hip symbolizes in geriatric patients…! 8-(
My classmates could work as RN pending passing the boards in MO in those days… I worked waiting my results….. but once I moved, that lively little law stayed in MO…. It was because I couldn’t work or get my CA license that mattered….
I sweat it too…. in those days CA had higher score requirements than MO… but no worries….. passing in MO for each section was 350… CA was 500… my lowest score was in the 700’s in psych…. go figure…
oh my stars, ct, i missed that part of the story.
i would be on the phone to the nursing home – asking who their lawyer and insurance company was and demanding satisfactory answers to the questions about how the hell that could have happened!
oh geez… no wonder no one else knew.
i’m so glad it worked out but you sure did not need any additional worries on top of knowing ca had higher requirements.
We used to get them in all the time from home but not from a care facility… OMG that stinks….. and you should get to the bottom of it too
I found out after everybody migrated upstairs, my Mom is not one to cross swords with, and she was a RN …!
yeah. I agree with katymine. Lawyer, insurance and bring in the dragons for that happening! There’s no excuse for that!
i hope she raises quite a ruckus ct. where was mom flying into from?
Monday I would set up a meeting with the Director and make sure their Risk Manager is also at that meeting. You need to have a good explanation why she was not check every couple of hours. Ask for their nightly round policy and if necessary, find out which state board regulates this care facility and file a complaint.
I know that care beds in HI are very tight, unless things changed from when I did case management, they were hard to come by but still there are standards and regulatory agencies for a reason.
From here on the Big Isle to Colorado Springs… The sad part of this is my Uncles fought to have her moved from my Mom’s care to the facility in CO… My Mom is livid and heartbroken at the same time…! 8-(
My Mom knows what to do! She won’t leave any stone unturned…!
exactly!
your mom’s an rn and so she’ll know a bullshizz answer when she gets one.
I figured she did…. but a lot of others don’t….
its a dayam shame that we even need to be educating pups about how to handle this kinda situation. lard knows how many times this happens each night all over the country where our seniors are ignored when they are the most vulnerable. makes me sick.
Well better head off to bed…. had been keeping east coast hours but sure blew it this weekend…… Nite all…. good thoughts sending your way CT
g’nite katymine and happy mother’s day tomorrow with your babies
The sad thing is that I had to keep an eagle eye out when I was in the hospital last October during my emergency….. the sh*t that I saw & experience made me really sad……
Aloha, Katy! Mahalo, always appreciated and Happy Mother’s Day!
You too…. since it seems it is just you and I here handing out at the lake…
iirc, only 1% of our readership comments. three or four of us chatting here means there are still several thousand reading…
Heh, I’m lucky if I get a thousand a day at M&C… Tho, I do average close to it…! ;-)
No doubt. Katy’s instructions are definitely something i’d keep in mind. My only surviving grand parent is in canada though. So i’m not too worried about her as of yet, since mom and her brothers are keeping an eye on her too. But for the future i’ll still keep those things in mind. All depends on where my parents are in the future.
I think mom’s ramping up the idea of getting dad to move over to Ontario just before he retires around 65. They’ll both get better care over there and they won’t take 700$ out of dad’s hide to have mom on any of their medical plans. She’s a canuck and the benefits extend to dad over there without any extra charge PLUS their senior pensions. I figure i’ll already be there myself before they make the move. I figure i’ve got about 2 maybe 3 years in the states before i make that next move. But for now, my whole family is thinking ahead.
i’m a lucky to have 20 a day gal myself over at my place… is up from the 3 regular readers i had a year ago
we are all thinking ahead. the health care situation in this country is not what it should be.
i’ve given thought to where i may go if mcsame is elected – where i could get in with a claim for political asylum due to the loss of democracy in the states.
I check it out frequently, M’dear! Mainly, to see what Utube you have up, O’Queen of the toobz…! ;-)
I’d be returning to my ancestral and birth home if I moved to Canada…! However, I’d sure miss the tropical breezes…! ;-)
Yeah. My plan has been Ontario all along, and that was before the Shrub/Darth cabal showed their true colors after 9/11. I’d figured out that of all the big cities near here? I liked Toronto best, even over Chicago. Now i can go pretty much anywhere in that province with this type of job, not just the metropolis types.
But for now, i’m going to take care of my patients and work to get those remaining here good healthcare. Which means my younger brother and his daughters, and the rest of the american side of my insanely large extended family. I want to be able to visit all of them whenever without worrying about something like that.
if ya don’t leave me a comment, how am i supposed to know its you dear?
Hey Suz and all- sorry, I just arrived, so even tho this fits the late nite tradition, where OT is OnT, I haven’t had time to read the comments. So, I hope this isn’t amiss– surely not meaning to ignore comments above, but I thought I’d just jump in with both feet- ;)

So, I shall! I have sitemeter telling me how many visitors I have, even tho some days nobody comments! Erdla popped by today…! Well, mama-san is settling down for the evening and is beckoning, I love it when she imbibes… I shall bid ya’ll a fond adieu! Aloha Oe!!!

McCain’s Selection To Run DNC Convention A Lobbyist…But Not Just ANY Lobbyist
…a Lobbyist To MYANMAR
same here – most days no comments at my place dood :)
enjoy your day with mamasan ct and aloha
wow, mick was mighty young there – and feeling no pain
bwa-ha-ha-ha *rubbing hands together gleefuly*
wasn’t that a nice jenna wedding day present we got
Wow Peace in Sadr City tommorow that is good news. Thanks for the Data over at M&C
Suz-
And Sir Michael Phillip “Mick” Jagger is still a class act.
yes ma’am he is. i love that mick and the boys are still looking like they are having as much fun touring as they were back when it was all new to them.
and, I hope no one thinks I am a trivial person, and unconcerned about the real world. But sometimes, I just have to go sideways and take a break for the sake of my sanity. I trust I’m not alone in that… ;)
Blessed (or fortunate) are the trivial anyway.
Hey VG!
hell no vg. i’ve always thought of the late late nite threads as being where we let our hair down, use some music or laughter to sooth our wounds from the fight of the day so that we can fight again tomorrow.
i’ve said many times that late nites keep me sane. i look forward to the nightly break – where the politics are still talked about but at a much more relaxed pace.
So sad to see I missed Harry Ried today! I really, really, wanted to ask him if any Republicans will be forced to actually carry out a filibuster, or if the Dems plan to continue folding at any threat of one. I was kind of shocked that no one asked, but Harry was only around for 80 comments or so…
he sure beat feet when the leiberlier subject came up.
Got thick with very “unlike MSM” questioning and Harry bailed. Less than 50 minutes, as I recall.
still, we did get him to say that hearings are forthcoming on the sock puppet generals.
ok pups (grumble grumble) time for me to do that useless ‘just in case of a showing’ cleaning again and erase all signs of my habitation at the little cottage by the creek in the redwoods.
thanks for hanging with me tonight, pups. g’nite all
hey newt!
And Reid didn’t answer your question either. And, irrc you gave him a second chance.
nite suzanne
sleep as soon as possible
Suz, (or to others who have not said good nite- Nite Suz!) given how much of an impact all those other hearings have had, I really didn’t clap loudly at this news. Same old same old.
All dilettantes are due a second… strike that-
Yeah, he has had it up to the brim with RGJoe. And it won’t subside anytime soon.
That is a plus, I have to agree!
Baby steps…
It is still Sunlight, and therefore a good thing.
Enough? Of course not.
“Yeah, he has had it up to the brim with RGJoe”
newt, maybe I am misreading your comment, but I didn’t see any evidence for this from what Reid said today.
And, let’s just remember that Lieberman calls himself a “JFK Democrat”. (gag!)
It’s not what he said, but that he scrammed when the LieberFog became so think that it obscured what he came here to do (I am presuming), which was test the metal of places like this.
As for his “JFK Democrat” statements, they are beyond the dignity of thinking persons to respond to.
If he has ever stopped by, he had to know he was gonna get some real questions!
If his staffers didn’t know what this place was about, they served him badly.
Digby, Marcy, Jane, Christy, Teddy, Peterr, etc.
No softballs.
That’s what I mean. I can’t believe he would be so unprepared that he wouldn’t know. But I was really quite surprised to see him duck out so quickly and after taking so few questions. Did he really expect to see a chorus of “What’s it like to write a book?”, said with some “liberal” accent?
Hillary Clinton – less than an hour (although to be fair, we knew that beforehand).
Mark Penn – 45 minutes.
Harry Reid – 47 minutes.
John Dean – hours and hours on numerous occasions, including returning for resumption of a session ON HIS BIRTHDAY.
Hmm, I guess when my book is hosted at the salon (and I’m a nationally recognized figure), I will have to be sure to spend a little more time! /s
hehe… you don’t suppose he prepped himself by reading the ball bearings thread? If so, he would have known that FDL is just the right place to test the metal! ;)
would have been a great question, i just don’t know how to ask it in a short comment – current senate rules (as i understand them) make this a complicated question. it’s not even clear that everyone is working off of the same meaning of the term “filibuster”
hey selise!
I’m bailing out now.
Take care of the place :)
i loved jane’s last comment:
but earlier there were some softballs, or rather a light hearted exchange that provided a counterpoint to the harder questions coming from the peanut gallery.
nite newt!
almost coffee time for me…
HAS anyone mentioned that marvin is a transvestite?
cute mini dress too
I like Marvin.
Good morning everyone.
Mornin’ all.
Selise, an alternative explanation for Senator Reid’s short stay would be simple Washington behavior/arrogance.
His schedule allows for 15-30 minute slots (unless you are raising more than 5 figures in which case you might get a dinner speech)
Hi all… howz the pUPhOUSE 2 nite?
Lools like we have a “Short Stay” companion for “Short Ride.”
Really, don’t be sad. It was IMHO a blogfluffing™ performed by the MIB… and nowhere near as well as Will Smith.
Morning here in the East, and a glorious one (though cold) in the mid-Hudson.
Can’t stay long, just headed off to bed, wanted to say hi!
Sleep well.
I like him too but he’s wearing a mini skirt
I always liked the warner brothers toons more then disney and I wonder why disney was able to create a theme park empire and warner brothers were not
Morning, eCahn — yep…chilly for sure; it was 31 when I got up. But the sun is strong today, so I’m going to give it going to the 60s and nicer than yesterday. I rode to the farmer’s market and brrrrrr, it was chilly cloudy.
40 here when I got up. As soon as I finish my coffee, I’m going to finish up my brush clearing project. About 5 or 6 more wagon loads to cart to the burn pile.
Ah, the book and book shelves project must be complete then..
Yes, indeed. Thanks to everyone who yelled at me. Really worked. Also put away CDs, alphabetically by composer!
Supposed to rain tomorrow, and I have no indoor projects left. Seems I’ll have to read, more’s the pity. (Not.) I’m in the middle of two good books: They Knew They Were Right, about the neocons, and The Eye in the Door, the second of an anti-WWI trilogy.
Perris – if you recall, Bugs used to do quite a business in lipstick and sexy dresses himself.
BTW, happy Mother’s Day to all of such a pusuasion.
Well thankyou – my gift from my 21 year old son(the martial arts and anime buff) was a double feature of dvds — Pocket Full of Miracles and Black Dragon, Jackie Chan’s version(why they changed the title from “Miracles” is beyond me, but the fighting in fedoras and spats is quite something).
Nice!
I’m hoping for a phone call from mine.
Well, he’s still at the age where gifts tend to veer into “what I’d get for me if I were a Mom” territory, but at least he included the original with Peter Falk, who is a fav of mine. and he did call to make sure that I’d gotten the package and wished me a happy day. He’ll be back from school for dinner on Thursday, so we discussed his ‘coming home’ meal, which was not a creative choice but certainly was out of the ‘I need some comfort’ cookbook: meatloaf.
Meatloaf! Very funny. Hope you’re serving it with smashed potatoes. That’s my favorite comfort food. Where is he at school? Graduating this year?
Happy Mother’s Day eCAHN & Toby et al!
I’ve got to get the dog out, but c’mon upstairs
Well, I haven’t filled out the menu yet, but I’m betting that he’s going to appreciate smashed potatoes and broccoli. He’s at Fairleigh Dickinson University at the campus in Madison, NJ. Graduation is next year.
Nice chatting. Coffee’s gone & I’m off.
