I certainly hope Levin and Reid get around the subpoena-refusal gambit by asking the network executives, including Brian Williams, and not the generals themselves to testify. Often, asking the folks out of reach of the Administration has been more effective for Congressional investigators.

We need to short-circuit the stalling tactics BushCheneyCo will engage in. Calling the producers, agents, bookers, and interviewers who work for major media will suffice:

How did you get the names of the generals?
Who suggested the generals to you?
Did you investigate whether the generals had a conflict of interest?
Did you investigate whether the generals were integral to a propaganda operation?
Did you seek to locate others with an opposing view?

Totally OT, but I just had a Republican candidate for Larry Craig’s Senate seat knock on my door.

I’ve never had a candidate running for the US Senate knock on my door before. Candidates running for local elections, yes, but not for the national seats. I still can’t believe it. The primary is the end of this month, and he isn’t the establishment favorite, but he mentioned running a grassroots campaign, and constituent outreach being important to him.

I might go vote in the Republican primary, now. If I have to have a Republican Senator (we are talking about Idaho here) then I’d rather have this guy Syme than than the establishment weasel Risch. Of course, I vote for the democrat come November.

This Iraqi veteran, Army Col. talked to me about Iraq for about ten minutes or so.
