I’m a little more disturbed by the dimwits in the crowd with the “W ‘08″ signs. What’s that about? God forbid!

Wow, this is what McCain said in 1998 when Clinton wanted to go after Bin Laden:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/.....082198.htm

“Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) stressed the importance of a strong U.S. role in foreign affairs, and criticized the administration for ignoring problems other than bin Laden, including Iraq dragging its feet on arms inspections, “North Korea building nuclear weapons,” a stalled Mideast peace process, and “thousands of people being ethnically cleansed in Kosovo.

“This administration for the last seven months has neglected compelling national security threats besides this,” said McCain, a member of the Armed Services Committee. “I cannot say that they’ve been neglected because of Monica Lewinsky, but I can say unequivocally that they have been neglected.”

http://www.dailykos.com/storyo.....240/513339

The “Shock and Awe” departments of the Pentagon and State Department have been busy writing new scripts for their “Final Offensive Against Venezuela.”

Not only have they resurrected the U.S. Navy’s “Fourth Fleet” to illegally patrol through Venezuelan waters, but they have arrived at a plan, appropriately subtitled “Shock and Awe Venezuela” for the invasion of Venezuela using Colombia’s ground troops. Undoubtedly the air and marine components of the invasion will have “made in America” unmistakeably stamped all over them.

The initial objective is to occupy Venezuela’s oil rich Zulia state, which borders Colombia, but they also have their eyes on 3 other adjacent states.

Notes obtained by the Venezuelan government’s former attorney general and presented to Venezuela’s National Assembly this week indicate that Colombia President Uribe has agreed to the plan, although he first hesitated he wasn’t sure the Venezuelan people would go quietly, but his Defense Minister assured him that the present governor of Zulia, Manuel Sales, would join the party.

Last week, opposition Representatives in the Zulia Assembly submitted a resolution to allow Zulia “automony” from the Venezuelan central government, an idea passed along, no doubt, from the U.S.’s operatives in Boliva. The new U.S. moto, borrowed from Kosovo, is “Divide and Conquer — by bullets and ballots”.

See the details at Venezuelanalysis: http://tinyurl.com/4ouph4

Thanks for the link.

Given the way the sun beats down on the Southwest, I have often wondered why solar panels on roofs and car ports wouldn’t provide lots of energy for homes and cars for free (after the costs of installing the panels, of course.)

At 85% I believe, when normally they’re running at 95% this time of year.

Which supports my position.

They’re keeping oil off the markets to keep prices high.

US owned refineries wouldn’t have such incentives and could serve as a counterweight to such practices.
