Sanchez says the criticisms levied against him were the result of political partisanship.

Of course, since opposing torture is a partisan issue.

“Mr. Sanchez writes, “During the last few months of 2002, while the highest levels of the U.S. government were sparring with Saddam Hussein and setting up the case for an invasion of Iraq, there is irrefutable evidence that America was torturing and killing prisoners in Afghanistan.”

While the abuses in Bagram have been described as torture by both the press and members of Congress, the administration has refrained from using the word, as it would be an admission of a potential violation of international law.

A few paragraphs later he says, “In retrospect, the Bush administration’s new policy triggered a sequence of events that led to the use of harsh interrogation tactics against not only al Qaeda prisoners, but also eventually prisoners in Iraq—in spite of our best efforts to restrain such unlawful conduct.”

Apparently the Stepford Wife doesn’t want any of her business relationships with John’s corporate donors revealed…because she recalls the “embarassment” it brought her when it was discovered that she had a half-million cool ones tied up in a Charles Keating strip mall back in the 1990’s.

Ohhhh…and Johnny (Mc)Cakes was the one that was pressuring the Justice Department to “back off” and shouting out vitriol at the Press for discovering his wifes investments.

Seems Cindy hasn’t changed one iota…

How much money has she donated to McCain’s campaigns over the decades…in plane trips and orther services (houses, etc.)…after all she says that her $$$ are not intermingled in the slightest with her husbands? Bet the tax returns show otherwise!

The public has the right to know if their elected representatives are giving kickbacks to their family or their business partners. McCain has done this (at least) once…NEVER AGAIN!

Ricardo Sanchez, who commanded ground troops in Iraq from 2003 to 2004, has since been speaking out about the conduct of the Iraq war — especially about what he calls the Bush administration’s “catastrophically flawed, unrealistically optimistic war plan.”

His views take book form in Wiser in Battle: A Soldier’s Story, which also details his rise from an impoverished Texas childhood to become the Army’s highest-ranking Hispanic officer.
