1) Her husband, as a politician, once protected a banker named Charles Keating who was her business partner. It was only through the open records that such a relationship was discovered. McCain himself virulently attacked the reporters who discovered this relationship.

2) McCain has claimed that he “learned” lessons about campaign and lobbyist malpractice from this episode. Yet the campaign finance laws he authored does nothing to stop this type of abuse (#1). Cindy McCain could still be receiving millions of dollars in contracts from her husbands activities…but without HER tax-records we’d never know about the nepotism.

3) Cindy McCain may have failed to properly report her contributions to her husbands campaign. Her tax records are the only way to compare her husbands campaign financial reports with amounts she has actually expended.

4) She asserts that her husbands accounts are ENTIRELY independent of hers. But it’s well known that he benefits from large numbers of her assets…from loans to accomodation…to airplanes. That indicates that their finances are actually commingled. His political world is NOT distinct from her business wealth. Either she is a liar or she is not using her private assets to aid him politically as asserted. O)nly by opening her records can the public decide.

5) Hillary Clinton faced scrutiny as First Lady for her PRIVATE transactions and acts while she was in Arkansas. Why should Cindy McCain face any less scrutiny? Where did John McCain sit on the Whitewater investigation? Betya 5:1 he was all for it!

6) Cindy McCain was involved in a money laundering and drug cover-up scheme due to her addictions and efforts to adopt children from Bangladesh. Given her financial improprieties and known use of illegal drugs it seems that she should indicate whether she has any ongoing treatment for narcotics, or unaccountable excessive payments.

Oh! You meant the other type of foundation!

Meanwhile The Hill is praising Dubya’s Megabucks Fundraising…that he hit the moneybags for about $50 million last year and might be a little above that pace this year.

Their nominee is actually in debt the remainder of the Primary season and may be unable to pay off those debts…not a pleasant reputation to have when one is heading into a General Election. And then there is the embezzlement that has occurred in the Congressional Republican Campaign Committee, and no one appears to be giving them money anymore to boot. Usually wealthier candidates shunt money to those that have less…this year many Republican candidates may be working on skeleton budgets…while Obama can pass out hundreds of thousands in largesse. And even minor candidates are receiving attention from various groups like Blue America.
