I think they Neocons will attempt to stay in power via proxy McBush. I don’t know what they will do if it looks like they can’t keep their power. Remember, they have the power. I don’t think “Republicans” per se have anymore power than Dems. The Neocons are a whole different species. The only saving grace is that “the People” want the Neocons gone….Dems and Pukes.

McBush will say anything to get the attention of the press. He has made a career of being the “maverick”. You can’t burn both ends of the candle without eventually getting burned.

Fortunately, I don’t think most Americans want to get burned by a maverick president.

OK but will the GOP have a civil war over this or will they just sit this election out and let McCain fall?
And if the Rev Moon is involved then the true GOPers have to get him out of their party. This could very well be a three way civil war the MSM after all is very quiet about Moon.

In other words, John McCain has been losing between a fifth and a quarter of Republicans to protest votes for Mike Huckabee, Ron Paul and “none of the above” just because many GOP voters are disenchanted with their nominee.

Cliff, is there any actual evidence that this represents anything other than people saying “I preferred the other guy”, rather than, as you claim, a “protest” vote.

If there really are any “original conservatives” left, they should hijack their party back, throw out the neo-cons and the theo-cons, and sit out a few election cycles while they regain credibility.
