Thanks for the ad about the National Conference for Media Reform (NCMF) coming up in Minnesota. I’ll pass that around to EVERYONE!

IT’S TIME PEOPLE! First 9-11 profiteering, then Iraq, then Iran and now race baiting - all with the sole purpose of drowning out the voices of the American people for the sake of a buck.

But as Ford, and Gm and the entire world ecomomy in general, and now even GE - all reported losses. Because THE BUCK STOPS WITH US!

In fury I came here to write about the spread of what I will now start calling -after seeing the Conference ad -start calling the “Medias Anti-American Disease”, or MAAD for short -and hope you all do too.

The network’s hard-ass anti-Obama rants and attacks aren’t about us or Hillary v Obama, or the country. It’s what’s in it for them- we know that.

But the ‘hosts’ themselves are also getting in on the ‘fun’, and border precariously on ‘hate’ speech’ under the guise of ‘news’. Lou Dobbs is a prime example of that - a dull bussiness show cancelled comes back to life as an old bitter white supremacist who now makes money for the shrunken heads of CNN by bashing Hispanics.
And Chris Matthews of MSNBC made it clear that he believes they need to continue to focus on Wright, and race -because their ratings were higher. Never mind people are angry as hell on each side and may be tuning in just to hear if he really is the ass-hole everyone says he is, never mind that this is an historic election year where we tune in to find some remnant of election news, and never mind that Olbermann’s success may be giving Matthwews or MSNBC or NBC the insane idea that they’ve become more popular, too.
Oh really NBC? Personally, after 20 devoted years - I haven’t tuned in to watch SNL, since their 2week long staged Hillary events.

But look how their hate seeps into every hole they find:
As I study at home, and to get away from all the cable hate talk, I recently began keeping CNN’s Headline News on low in the background. A simple channel with a ticker tape of news clips from around the world, I thought.
Just a while ago they interrupted the ticker of important news from Burma, for no apparent cause, to air a 2-3 minute anti-Wright/Obama and decidedly hateful commentary… from Glen Beck.
Not commentary from a political scholar, and no ‘breaking news event’ of any kind.
Absolutely no fu**ing reason or purpose at all, than to inflame the public -and the voters.

You can’t get any more viscious and hateful than that, had you had a burning cross in the background.

Just seems that way because I look at Obama critically, which is unusual on this site.

Exactly. But it was race baiting when Bill Clinton noted that AAs broke for Jesse Jackson.

I admit that I don’t understand the difference, why one was race baiting and the other isn’t.

AAs are not going to vote for McCain. So what I think you’re saying is that, if Clinton is the nominee, they’ll stay home. (Blue collar workers will vote for McCain). But I thought Obama was about unity. How does a major voting bloc for Obama staying home if he’s not the nominee represent unity? Sounds like spite.

It is not race baiting becuase the pundits have been talking about the black vote in regards to it breaking for Obama at increasingly high percentages. If we are talking about the GE and how certain blocks are going to break for candidates, this is a problematic block that the pundits have not discussed. She can’t win without them and that is a reality that everyone is going to have to come to terms with. Not talking about it doesn’t make it not a problem.

addendum: one can’t any more assume that blacks will vote for Clinton if she is the nominee than white blue collars will vote for McCain if Obama is the nominee. the world, you see has many areas of grey.

You don’t recall all the hollering about race baiting in SC when Bill Clinton merely pointed out that the AA vote went to Jesse Jackson?

Since then, all I’ve seen is acknowledgment that Obama is getting 90% of the AA vote. I’m simply asking why it was race baiting when Clinton said it and it’s not when anyone says it about Obama. That’s all.

AS for the blue collar v. AA voting blocs, the AA vote is not a swing vote, the blue collar vote is. That’s the difference. It’s hard to imagine African Americans voting for McCain in November. It is not at all hard to imagine blue collar white males doing so.

that is an impressive amount of new folks registering as dems. Certainly does take some of the bad taste out of my mouth.

thanks for the info and analysis. just have to now wait and see how it shakes out

oy vay. I never said it was race baiting and i’m the one asking the question. I’m not going to go into this with you but to make my point claer. If the pundits and wanna be pundits are going to talk about blue collar white voters as a votng block that is hurtng Obama, they also have to talk about the black voters voting at a high percentage for Obama and not Hillary. She can’t win in november without this group and no one is talking about this.
