I tend to agree. Like their invasion of Iraq, they can only be willfully ignoring the consequences of such an act. It would not be received with the mild tension that follows an Israeli air attack on an obscure building along a Syrian river. Iran has three times the population of Iraq and more oil. It sits atop more dangerous geopolitical fault lines.

Among other consequences, the Doubting Ahmeds who yearn for peace instead of war would have their doubts dispelled. It would be perceived as an unmistakable sign that America is waging a Crusade against all of Islam, that it hates all Muslims and covets their oil. To the secular, it might simply mean that the current American government is so corrupt that it would risk regional war or global war to hide its own mistakes and its inability to answer the question, “Where do we go from here?”

I know where you’re coming from, but I think if she had that kind of support from the supers, we would’ve seen more movement in her direction by now.

The longer this goes on, the higher percentage of remaining super delegates she needs to get to 2024.

I emphasize ‘remaining’ because I don’t see a significant shift in already committed delegates in either direction.

The chances of a huge number of Sen. Obama’s delegates shifting to Sen. Clinton are slim and none, and Slim left town!

When defending the GE war mothership, Timmeh’s head swelled up, he held his hands out like he’s about to grab a melon, he eyes got as big as saucers and then he asked — with drool coming from the corner of his mouth — “Will you bomb Iran, dammit?”

Ok, he didn’t say ‘dammit’. But he might as well have.

I found it funny. Frightening, but funny.

I would not count Hillary out either. I prefer Obama, though I wish he would counter the neocon arguments better. I did not see Russert b/c I hate his show, but someone here said that Obama did not effectively blunt a great deal of Russert’s sabre-rattling, re: Iran. I would not have enjoyed seeing that.

HRC has certainly revealed more and more of her dearest aspirations.

Unfortunately, as she does so she diminshes many things …

Including the likelihood of having certain thoughtful people vote for her.

But then, we must assume that this fact is part of her calculus.

Many of her supporters will not vote for Obama. But the percentage of Clinton partisans AND Obama partisans who might well vote for McCain, the disagreeably disgruntled, appear to be larger on the Clinton side.

Hopefully, most who might not vote for Clinton, even while holding their nose, will chose to express their disaffection in some other manner than voting for McCain.

But then, time will tell, unless DIEBOLD gets the nod …
