One of the few mainstream journalists whose output is always worth the reading is the Washington Post’s Dan Froomkin. And he’s just getting better:
It wasn’t just his wistful words about magic wands that made President Bush’s talk about lowering gas prices at his press conference yesterday feel particularly unrealistic. His most practical suggestion was to go back in time to 2002 and get Congress to allow oil drilling in the Alaskan wilderness — although even had that happened, those oil fields likely wouldn’t yet be producing a drop.
Bush’s repeated mention of magic wands — i.e., "if there was a magic wand to wave, I’d be waving it, of course" — was a reprise of his comments two years ago, the last time gas prices were a major domestic issue.
And then, as now, Bush was neither talking — nor being asked about — two hugely significant factors that he could actually do something about: the war in Iraq and the value of the dollar.
And it gets even better from there.
As of this blog post, I officially declare him One Of Us, in addition to being the Spiritual Heir of Edward R. Murrow (see picture). I hope this won’t hurt his career.
Okay, people, talk amongst yerselves. Off-topic is the topic, though if you wanna talk about the Froomeister, that’s cool too.

I’m watching the re-run of the Hillary interview. Ticks me off that she’s on Fox, but I’m watching.
You can Digg this post here!
ooooo, nostalgia…
I remember sitting down to chat with Jane during a panel break at the Vegas YKos and suddenly realizing the man she was speaking with was Froomkin. I was schoolkid-speechless. I think I actually said, “Wow.”
How embarrassing.
News!
Teddy’s correction is noted in bold.
here’s your Fresca, lady.
Speaking of which… Has anybody received their stimulus check yet?
EPU’d:
I was raised a Lutheran. In the Burien-Des Moines area south of Seattle. We had a very charismatic pastor – Norman Orth. As I started growin up, I didn’t agree with him sometimes. By the time I took catechism every Saturday morning for two years, I was doubting some of the story line of the bible and Lutheranism. But he was a great man, my younger brother and one of his sons were best friends, and there were a lot of hot girls in our church.
I remember his sermon the morning Jack Ruby shot Oswald. It was as close to fire and brimstone he ever got. He accused the government of being complicit in that, and in the previous Friday’s assassination.
Very soon afterward, he was promoted to head evangelism for the ALC in St. Pul MN. The pastor who took over was a former chaplain, and wasn’t at all charismatic. He spanked his kids. A lot. I left the church.
After the army, where I got into it with another chaplain over the war, I didn’t hink of ever joining a church again, until we had kids. I joined a local Lutheran church. I figured it might be a good place to find inexpensive day care, and reliable baby sitters for the kids. But I got tired of crossing my fingers during the Nicean Creed.
Big teddy bear kind of guy. That surprised me. Yes, he seemed like one of us even then.
Oh Noes!
Who will now obstruct justice on behalf of the Southern California GOP Congressional delegation?
my most favorite soda in the world forever.

Good times, great memories. Jane and Christy and Joe Wilson gabbing poolside.
I am waiting to be stimulated. :)
I am a few days late, but wanted to share:
Robert E. Coughlin resigned from DOJ, Deputy Chief of Staff, Criminal Division on April 6, 2007 for personal reasons.
Pleaded guilty in Federal Court, April 23, 2008 (felony)
Ok, a year apart, but still the month of April.
Of course, he loses his law licence. Ouch. Then there is that pesky prison sentence and fine.
Shockingly, he is 36 years old and was near the top, of the DOJ and its 112,500 employees.
Evening all. Bush’s magic wand, heh? That the one he waves to turn everything into shit or the one he keeps in his pants but nobody has ever been able too find (despite the “double-stuffed” fight suit picts).
Hey PW!!
McCain said the earmarks cuased the collapse of the bridge. Yup, it is all the fault of earmarks. Now you all can rest easy that he will slay those earmarks (unless they are special favors) and no more Minnesota bridges will collapse.
there are other options where you wouldn’t have to cross your fingers.
Just sayin’
Mine will be deposited directly into my checking 5/9. It will disappear 5/10.
Just for starters…
Do we send her cookies, too?
Wapoo reported that the first batch of checks were sent out on Monday…
BP and Royal Dutch Shell have reported massive increases in profits for the first three months of this year on the back of rocketing petrol prices, which are expected to hit £5 a gallon today.
BP’s pre-tax profits rose 48 per cent in the first quarter to $6.6 billion (£3.3 billion) while Shell increased its profits 12 per cent to a record $7.8 billion (£3.9 billion).
The increase has been driven by the rising oil prices, which the companies have passed on to consumers in the form of higher petrol and diesel costs.
Reaching for his “magic wand” Bush accidentally grabbed his navel.
“Wups, that’s not it!”
I thought that the earmarks are what actually pays for highway repairs.
Heh, I foresee a similar fate…! ;-)
Nope. I think only Republicans are getting them right now. I filed electronically the same day my W-2 came available.
shocked. I’m shocked to hear that windfall profit taking is going on.
Not. Touching. That.
Did y’all hear about Raw Story’s Eric Brewer breaking through on the Dana Perino Show today?
I have a simple, elegant solution to bring down oil prices in a hurry. Charge an excess profits tax on the oil companies, say 60% on profits over 10%.
My gasoline bill was higher last month.
Hope not. How are you? Long time, no see.
Hey, you!

I go to the Anchorage Unitarian Universalist Fellowship when I feel need to exercise the other options. But it is 110-mile round trip. Or talk to my friend who is a Zen monk. Or read the Kybalion.

Did anyone watch the Hillary interview. The woman amazes me. She’s brilliant.
Here
is that schedule to see when you should expect your stimulus package.
I know, but how did he even get into the room, do you suppose?
my interim job a couple of years ago was just that commute—110 miles rt. Did it 4 days a week. REALLY glad I’m not doing that now.
Good, and good to be back, thanks!
how so?
WWD!!
Love Froomkin. He is one of us, and people read him.
Unfortunately, I have an SUV. Not very economical or green, but you don’t take a Prius up into the mountains. $55 last time I filled up, which is only about once a month this time of year.
Jack Ass president announced that his economy is in the crapper.
Jack Ass president said that the answer to the problem is to make his dumb ass tax cuts permanent.
Jack Ass President blames dems for the fucked up mess he created.
Jack Ass President accepts not one fuckin ounce of responsibility for the whole bloody thing- despite gettin damned near every policy he requested for the last seven years.
I can’t think about this fuck head without wanting to see him covered with ants.
this all needs fast track big ideas…winfall profits tax is a good start
Another interesting blurb:
Neither please.
And he is immune from the touch of Little Debbie, since he only appears on the ether and not in print. She has nothing to do with the pixels-only people.
Although WaPo’s new publisher, Katharine Weymouth, is head of both print and pixels, so the next Ombudsman might have a broader reach. And perhaps even a smarter mind!
If Deb ever honors her contract, up last November, and leaves.
Not I. I thought I would be in the first batch.
She has command of every issue and can really think on her feet. I agree with those that are ticked at what she’s done in this primary, but she really knows the issues and was knocking down BOR’s lies.
It seems that she has spent her life studying every issue facing this country and has ideas to solve every problem. I, too, hate her campaigning but there’s no doubt that she’s committed, energetic and very, very smart.
Alice Fisher – another one who’s absence will be fondly noted. As well as burying Abramoff she was way too fond of the torture tours to Gitmo (Goldsmith’s ‘The Terror Presidency’).
schedule is based on last 2 numbers in your ssn, not on when you filed
no, i’m staying away from the t.v for a few weeks (with the exception of basketball) and i don’t see her as brillant (intelligent, yes)
Willie’s only going to turn 75 once.

Very telling, isn’t it?
So the 07’s should going out pretty soon?
I’m due for mine next week, CT. I’ll be in the second batch of direct deposit transmissions.
I was listening to the big tribute on KGSR as I ran around town today.
Did boosh give him a pardon?
Dubya is lying. He said that he would tell the Saudi’s to turn on the taps (no magic wand required). Dubya gave tax cuts to big oil. Dubya waived the royalty payments ($$$millions) due from big oil to the Federal Government (for big oil’s use of government land for drilling).
Dubya has been a gift to big oil, polluters, big timber, et al. As such, Dubya has been against the common citizen. Yer either fer us er agin’ us. Dubya’s agin’ us.
Tough meaning more and bigger guns and ammo so their unrevealed employers can give them bigger bonuses. This qualifies as critical.
Hey you fuckheaded bastard Bush-
D ya think yer fuckin tax cuts may be adding to some problems in the economy? D ya think yer fuckin war in Iraq with the 120 billion dollar a year price tag might be causin any economic problems? Do you have any responsibility for ANYTHING- AT ALL?
and lying her ass off, over, and over, againwhen she knows we have YOUTUBE,also teh stoooooooopit
Two other electeds for Obama today
margot was kind enough to post the schedule where you can look it up. also, depends on if auto deposit/payment or refund check mailed to you.
When Bush took office gas prices were $1.38 a gallon. He does have a magic wand, those prices are not a bug, but a feature. Mission accomplished.
Caught most of that, too. Mom called me last week after she read about it coming up in the paper, wanted to know where to find KGSR on the dial. I told her we call it K-Geezer round these parts!
:)
he is a she,and supports my personage economically when my equilibrium is good…”g”
He and Cheney are also buying light sweet crude for the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, which is at 97% capacity and could be topped off with heavier crude.
It’s essentially a price-support mechanism for Big Oil. Quelle surprise
Evening, firepups. FYI-the secret law hearing chaired by Russ Feingold is on C-Span now. It just started.
I couldn’t watch it. I’ll check on the FOX website.

He is responsible or irresponsible, the only two possible answers. This is what I call a “fair and balanced” response to easy answers for glaring questions.

another teh stoooooopit Hillary move….holiday on GAS TAX
Jay Leno is a dependable bootlicker of Republicans. I never watch that show because Leno sucks so royally.
Between the healthy cafeteria food and now this, Nancy is certainly having an irritating impact on their “do as I say not as I do” lifestyles.
Now I would like to see Congress be subject to equal hiring rules and sexual harassment laws.
me either,plus….he is not funaie
…or a Waaaaaaahmbulance
I noticed in used car lots there’s an awful lot of SUV’s and few toyotas or nissans in them these days…! ;-)
Glad we have a pro business gooper in the White House- he’s given us a stock market that’s negative when adjusted for inflation….
Are you makin notes goopers?
..and also so not-funny as to be painful, yeah.
*sigh* yet we can not get nancy to set the forking table
Agreeing with McCain on anything is bad strategy and should disqualify her.
CTuttle — McCain just gave Obama a 20-point lead.
We know better. In fact, we know better to the point that we got an increase in both license fees and the gas tax — the first gas tax increase in over two decades — to pay for our roads, bridges and mass transit. And we did it with Republicans voting with the Democrats to override Pothole Pawlenty’s veto.
That dog of his just won’t hunt.
Hey everyone! How goes it?
And, we just watched “Inconvenient Truth” in my Freshman Seminar.
Getting those oil reserves out of Alaska is getting harder and harder. Because “pipeline” conveyance depends on driving on roads made of ice. And, the months that the icy roads, the only roads there are has sharply decreased. Global warming ya think?
uh, sorry, I just got here. Just read the post, haven’t read the comments.
So, irony about drilling Alaska wildlife refuges, big time.
Why is she trying to be like McCain?
Nah. If FOX doesn’t say it, it doesn’t exist.
I always watch Letterman now. “Great Moments in Presidential Speeches” and the band alone are worth it. Leno’s band sux, relative to Shaffer’s. I friggin’ hate that dippy Leno show intro chase theme. Sounds like a garage band riff.
Dang, wangdang, I haven’t crossed threads with ya in quite some time…! ;-)
hey pw, about forking time froomkin got officially designated One Of Us
Not to mention he is a Harvard MBA. Sort of confirms my suspicions about the value of a business degree.
yeah, loved the story about Hillary going to a gas station with a guy in a borrowed pick up to complain about gas prices. Her security detail followed in a half dozen black Suburbans plus.
Then she didn’t know how to work the coffee machine. Great video
Let’s see how Shirley Golub does in her primary against Nancy in June. The table might yet be set.
I……….would think so…have i said she is tone deaf?
hey lady!
w00t
oh please, the man hardly got aquainted with any of his brain cells before they all died
Caught the earmarks-did-it comments did you?
Somebody linked to a list of manufacturers and companies who will not advertise on progressive radio at fdl a year or so ago. I bookmarked it on a computer that had to be rebuilt later. I can’t find the list googling. Anyone out there to help…?
BWAHAHAHAhahahahahahahahaha
that was comedy gold!
oh, that’s funny.
bound to be a classic.
a classic in the making.
and why could she NOT play it straight, and just have the guy USE his own pick-up?
it’s the soundtrack. priceless
i’m sure TDS and/or Colbert will have fun with that one (wicked evil laugh)
yup
How does a taxpayer sign up for direct deposit transmission?
(I didn’t get my 2007 refund by direct deposit, since I had to pay rather than get a refund…)
Hey ET!
I just got here. And haven’t waded through the comments. But, given that you are in Alaska, I would very much like your input on my comment just above:
http://firedoglake.com/2008/04…..nt-1419845
One secret service guy or gal has to ride with her.
i filed electronically and had to pay and it was taken directly from the account my refund was deposited into last year when i also filed electronically.
AND she didn’t know how to pump her own gas.
Scanner moment in the check out line?
You will probably get a check in the mail unless you paid your taxes by direct debit. They are using the bank routing information from your return or your home address if they do not have the routing info.
FROOMKIN RAWKS!!!
They know where you bank…
so…..middlezease…OR
she could have just found a guy who OWNED A BIGGER TRUCK
Didja notice that when CSI came back from the writers’ strike, all their Tahoes had been replaced by hybrid Tahoes? Not CSI Miami, they still have their Hummers.
Hillary should insist her detail use hybrid Tahoes, if only for the optics.
That is a good one. Hill can’t work the machine. The music is perfect. Those machines serve the crappy instant coffee (that poses as crapuccino). Hill can’t discern decent coffee from chemical garbage.
That’s like not knowing shit from shinola.
They could even tell ya how much ain’t in there…! ;-)
Hell, they know when and where you pee, but that ain’t getting you direct deposit because they would a) have to admit to more illegal spying and b) talk to another government agency.
lets face it,SHE AINT that BRILLANT,another dying meme
Hiya, CT! I’m still building up my late-nite stamina. Within a week, I should be able to make it through your time zone!
I don’t expect her to know how to pump gas or operate a 711 coffee machine, but it’s such bad advance work to put her in that situation.
Do you know that when Ike left the presidency he had no idea how to work a telephone?
I don’t blame Hillary for wanting security.
Hill reminds me of MY sister(lawyer also)…great book knowledge….practical sense…eh
they know everything about us.
teddy, sometimes i seriously wonder if her campaign isn’t being purposely sabotaged from within.
No. But I once lived with a sign painter who couldn’t spell.
G’nite all, fading fast.
so you mean to tell me,in all of NC she couldnt find a guy with a BIG ASS TRUCK…hey Freddy Thompson?
Permafrost areas are disappearing here and there, sometimes in large swaths. The biggest changes are occurring on the coastal areas of the Bering Sea and Chukchi Sea, where there are hundreds of small villages and towns. Anti-erosion and relocation efforts are inadequate there, but heating fuel costs – $10.00 to $20.00 per gallon for stove oil, and $50.00 a gallon for kerosene, might see those communities abandoned before they are inundated by the sea.
no, but the multiple gas guzzlers when going to do a photo op to complain about the price of gas is just too much.
death of irony …take 5 zillion and one
I did not know that about Ike and the phone. Yes, it was indeed poor judgment to attempt a dry run on film in the operation of unfamiliar devices. Hillbilly coffee machines be damned! She prolly got the willies touching the greasy thing. And the narrow aisles, yuck.
Obama has it right….silly season
I see rivkin dressed up as the assclown he is.
But if shirley beats nancy in the primary, won’t that just make hoyer or rahmbo speaker? shirley won’t become speaker, that’s for sure…
and what the F is wrong with asking for somebodies help?i would
OK, I’m fading as well. Take care and enjoy. Two more days of classes, then finals, and free for the summer. Yay!
Granted. Her campaign screwed up.
Itty-bitty steps, M’dear, You’ll get there… Aloha!
its funny we were just filming in a gas station,in southern Ga,and it was sureal
Aloha, DD!
Say G’nite Dick. G’nite Dick!

Fisher is designated keeper of Jack Abramoff and all his “cooperation” data, and his sentence is currently undetermined.
So, how’s she gonna tie up that little loose end before May ends?
Honestly, I know she’s hurting the dems. And her gas tax bull is ridiculous. But, I like her health care plan, and I like that she wanted the generals to start working on an exit from Iraq, and she was talking about a banking problem waaay before everyone else. I even may like her ‘umbrella’ policy to stop the arms race in the middle east (have to get more info on that). But, the point is that she has ideas on solving problems that I’m not hearing from anyone else. Especially the ME arms race. No one else even approached it the way she has, that we have to stop the need for the ME countries to seek nuclear weapons.
So, while I think she’s a pretty bad campaigner and a ridiculous panderer, I also think she boils down issues and sees solutions in a way that sets her apart from the rest.
I need to go to bed. Bash away.
I’ve never tried a 7/11 coffee machine. Is it tricky? Something you stumble with the first time?
g’nite dr (pause) dick
no
warp a few more of those minds while you still can, DrDick…:)
Hoyer next then Clybern I think. But all would have to be put to a vote. Who holds the most chits for favors?
Enough for one night.

You make some valid points. No need to feel sheepish.

So Abramoff was Fisher’s baby…
That’s a very good question…!
g’nite rev deb (and any other leaving sleepy firepups i might have missed)
You don’t want that coffee from that machine. Get the coffee from the pitcher. At least its real coffee.
Aloha, Rev!
tis true, but as i recall you put the cup down and press a button…mebbe machine was empty
I did my taxes online with Turbotax and when i set up my own payment to the the Federal government? They also asked if i wanted to use the same bank for the stimulus payment at the time. I”m not sure how you filed yours, but that’s how i did it. I was given the option to file via direct deposit/electronic payment for the money i owed and then chose whether i wanted a check or direct deposit to have it sent to me.
I’d think most places gave that option on whether you wanted to pay electronically or send a check(or have them send you one if you have a rebate coming). I took the electronic option and direct deposit, which has been reliable for the most part. I had ot pay too, but i got that paid off. So i’m still getting the stimulus payment like everyone else. You just had to file taxes to get that.
thread is getting thread bare
Evenin’ all !
Michael Moore is on Larry King, who is wearing a bright Red Shirt … ostensibly to distract Mr. Moore …
Good to know! I always just make coffee here at home.
It must be nice to file your taxes on time . . .
me too, spending money on crappy coffee gives me double heartburn”g”
ET- just to clarify- permafrost areas are disappearing- meaning that roads are also disappearing? Remember, I am in GA not AK, so sometimes you need to spell things out for me. ;)
What ? Don’t you get your students to make your coffee, wash your car, paint your porch … ? *g*
((((( Loo Hoo )))))
Howdy, Dood!
So why leave now? Why not stick around a few more months? Any firm interested in hiring her would understand her situation and have her start in Jan 09 or later.
Something’s up.
Howdly Doodly neighbor ?
gonna go morpheus…gnite pupeeps
Hello All!
So late, and Mr. CE watching 28 Weeks Later, pretty disgusting film. I’m just watching from the sidelines, and have to make up all the reading here.
Not really disappear, just turns to swamps of mud, btw, it also releases all the CO2 that was trapped for eons, and it’s an enormous amount…! 8-(
I remember when the Kennedys and MLK were assassinated and I found my parents stunned.
I remember hearing about the Vietnam war every night on tv with pictures of the destruction and seeing magazines with napalmed burned children and never being told not to watch.
I remember the caskets coming “home” and the protests against and for the war being broadcast.
I remember Watergate and being irritated that we could not watch “Dark Shadows” and instead were told that “this is history, children” and watching instead my parents riveted to the truth- telling.
Since then, not so much is available unless we look for it.
Time to regain our spine, imho.
Froomkin is one of these truth- tellers.
Mebbe that machine had the series of big rectangular plastic buttons that are small logo plates that designate each variety of flavored melamine dust. If you didn’t know they were buttons, you might be looking for a switch somewhere. Its not likely that all varieties would be out. She looked like a lost chicken.
Hey, guy! Hard enough to get them to clean up after themselves!
Mostly i’m debating on which anime to watch tonight. I’m now 2 weeks away from my vacation in Chicago, and some time with some old friends. More girlgeek anime types like me. ^_^ Our yearly gathering at Anime Central. I have Macross Frontier to catch up on, along with Kamen Rider Kiva. Choices, choices…
But…VACATION. *flails*
g’nite sadly
ding
(and i remember whining about dark shadows too but i was glued to the hearings while whining)
Totally, I agree. I just didn’t get the Fischer/Abramoff connection. (I need to be assigned remedial reading.)
I heard about Doan & Fisher and thought of the Rezko trial … all roads lead through Rove/Abramoff …
and rove’s name did come up in the rezko trial
Well, you have fun. (Whatever language you’re speaking!)
Yes, but Rezko scares me. What can they make of an Obama connection?
CT, yeah, well I was thinking about how “driveable” these roads were.
oh, and did anyone see the small, teensy, weensy segment that Dr. Gupta did on CNN today wrt NOLA and the 5 hospitals there?
well, previous to Katrina, the hospitals were not completely perfect and they made a collective and competitive profit of 12 mil. In this past year they have lost 135 mil and there is really no proper care at all. So, in an unprecendented move, they are banding together to become a health care system (where before they were fighting for “market share” and pre-eminence)
in the name of survival…
fyi.
She may be helping to hide what’s been going on in the Abramoff investigation, rather than following the evidence wherever it leads. She’s overseen the case for quite a while.
Ayup … and Dan Siegelman says that Waxman is hot on Rove’s trail … Link
Well, I think I will let someone else get the Late, Late Night zed tonight. I’ve got to meet with a client in the morning, so I will turn in earlier than usual so that I can be bright tailed and bushy eyed.
A swamp buggy would work…! ;-)
Aloha, Gnome!
Now I see why they were making a big deal of Barack’s ‘association’ with Rezko … they knew what would come out during this trial and wanted to throw the muck of BushCo onto Obama …
((((( GdP )))))
That’s exactly where and when the glue stuck to me…
I will never forget that.
hasta manana, amigos. *poof*
Did anyone else see this? MoJo Blog.
Can the Bush administration keep track of ANYTHING?
Nighters.
g’nite gnome
I remember that so well.
Earlier even; the 68 Democratic convention was riveting to me.
68 was a summer of riots and death
Hey ET, just catching up. I think it’s an American value to get pissed at your pastor, esp. given I’m a Lutheran PK (preacher’s kid). Don’t even get me started about decentralization and the 99 theses and all that! OTOH my great grandfather got the boot from his pastor for yelling at him. So you know, America, it takes all kinds to make a village.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/200…..complished
well, DUH!
Can Conyers and Waxman hire him to get information from the exec branch?
I like the way you think!
That, too!
Then there was the Kent State killings.
waswere.
More specific…? That’s their lame-o excuse…?
From the article: “Bush, in a speech earlier this month, said that “while this war is difficult, it is not endless.”
It’ll be endless if McSame has his way…
Hi all :-)
I seem to remember that Bush said we are not a country that occupies other countries during the Mission Not Accomplished moment. The BFL.
Initially, it was reported that the war had ended. Of course, Yahoo will not reveal that tidbit. The soundbyte was changed either the same day or the next day to major combat operations have ended.
Either way, the Mission Accomplished banner worked with the propaganda. The article says that Bush paid for that (error). How so? I don’t see it.
devious *g*
It is meant to be endless by the Corporate Masters of Teh Universe…
Hi LL!
Did the twisters have ya hopping the other day?
news article about TDS in the news box
Hi angie :-)
Aloha CT — the twisters weren’t anywhere near my area; the brave peeps down in SE Virginia are dealing with that aftermath. Suffolk, Colonial Heights, that area.
Does Bush ever get embarrassed? Was he embarrassed by the banner? At any point ever?
Who would have thunk it?
Yep. Could be her last shot at getting a decent job before the inevitable Abramoff pardon.
Or maybe she was storing the super-seekret data in tight security on the RNC servers *g*..
Dana Perino has hit a new low … did the journalists (snicker) call her out on it ?
That’s good for you! Still tragic for them tho…8-(
probably because obama would not hire dangerstein
This is how they make their money and monikers… it’s sort of an apology/ NOT
It’s a big f*** joke on those that suffer but are afraid of the big scary $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$/monster under the bed that they promulgate.
I don’t think he’s capable of feeling embarrassment; or, for that matter, capable of any feelings in general.
Wasn’t Dangerstein with Lieberliar? In the CT fiasco?
CT, they got hit hard down there :-(
Apply the specifics you prefer here..)

Passing you a White Cap thru da intertoobz …
Per Brian Tamanaha at Balkinization:
Honest, I had to crush his son’s testicles because in my personal assessment he had information that was of sufficient import to warrant such action. I truly believed that in my heart of hearts and in good faith, and I had advice of counsel that it wasn’t illegal if the president said it was okay.
Good for Stewart and Chodikoff.
I’m sure Helen turned around and asked her colleagues where are they, again! ;-)
*laughs* My 3 roommates speak better japanese than i do when we’re there. But i’m a convention veteran by now. It’ll be a blast, like it alway is.
Macross Frontier=Robotech’s 25th year anniversary tv show. scifi goodness.
Kamen Rider Kiva= Masked Rider Fang (vampire theme this year)
That’s cool! I’ve gotta post that tomorrow at M&C!
((( Petro )))
*clink* ;-)
But, but…. what about their denial they provided the banner?? Just a permitted misspeak?
yeah, based on that i’d a put him with HRC, but what do i know?
Was at Sam’s Club today picking up prescriptions and a few other things…
Happened to check out the rice- there was practically no rice. All that was left was fifty pound bags- $20 each. I guess that’s 40 cents a pound. There was a huge sign saying that there was a limit of 4 bags per customer. My wife was with me- so we would have been prohibited from taking more than 400 pounds of rice. I nearly cried.
Heh, it’s all water under the Carrier…! ;-)
FYI, Lieberliar was Obama’s mentor in the senate. Whatever that is.
The pinto beans were a little more than the rice. I think twenty five pounds was about $12…nearly 50 cents a pound- how can people survive these prices? Flour was 25 pounds for $6- OUTRAGEOUS! NO WONDER PEOPLE ARE STARVING!
Welcome to the “world’s greatest superpower and most benevolent nation”
(think of the poor, starving and bombed masses and I really do cry)
YEAH- WE DON’T HAVE IT TOO BAD HERE.
There are nations where people really DO starve.
If a person makes their own bread, bus rice, beans, and pasta in bulk- grows some veggies- and buys a few dead chickens- it’s not too bad.
Don’t know why all of this is occuring to me at this time of night- but there was a time when most people made their own bread- or biscuits if they couldn’t wait for the dough to rise- ate beans and rice and maybe a little bacon with gravy for most meals. People could do that now for next to nothing…For some reason I’m stuck on Grapes of Wrath tonight.
Dare we hope she has already lawyer-upped?
