Peets is by far the best coffee around!! www.peets.com check them out and try one of their samplers… Best if you buy whole beans and grind them fresh… keep your coffee beans in the freezer, maintains their freshness. Starbucks is cheap coffe and they charge you for premium!

Our Anchorage Progressive station is undergoing major changes. A good friend of mine was fired as Program dirctor lat weekend, shortly after he implicated the campaign of the IBEW’s favorite in the AK-AL House race in web smear campaign. IBEW is a part-owner of the station. Anyway, I’ve written a bit about it, and am writing a post about tomorrow’s first day of the new paradigm.

I used to hang out here a lot more, before I started blogging on my own. Somebody here, after getting pissed at me, said “go start your own Goddam blog!”

Turns out that GA candidates have to “qualify” to be on the ballot, by lining up at the capitol in person, and submitting their fees and creds. First day was last Monday, and Jim Martin was the first to qualify. I had no idea before about this detail of GA election law! I thought that when candidates “announced” that meant they had officially become candidates! So, maybe this helps explain the seemingly slow start to the Martin campaign.

we swear by good ole Peet’s, but I had to concede to my Somoma-based brother that his local discovery - Wolf Coffee - is at least as good. It’s what we have mail-ordered to work: $8/lb. for dark roast….

Good price! I like to order online from Peets and they are always offering different coffees from some of the best coffee small time growers from all the world. some are just once a year roastings and they will get the coffee by the day after they roast the batch… can’t get any fresher without roasting it yourself.

A damn good article, I’d heard about all the wargames that had projected the loss of virtually the entire Fifth fleet, the exception being the subs, basically the Iranians could send a wave of older junk missiles to expend all the Air defense systems onboard since it takes 20 mins to reload them after a mere 30 secs of ammo down range… Sitting ducks fixing to be expensive artificial reefs…!

My candidate, Diane Benson - who is running against Young - was the first person in public life in the USA to request an investigation. Back in September. The Anchorage Daily News had four days notice for the press conference Diane held. They sent nobody.

well, i’m more or less in drive-by mode here. i need to be out of the place i’m renting by may 25th and have been very intensively looking at places to either rent or buy and i found one of each yesterday! made an offer on the house to buy tonight and am juggling to see if the rental house will hold it for me til i see if we get a contract on the house to buy. i’m worn out completely from the intensity of it all. i haven’t bought a house in about 30 years. i’m scared and excited. both places are great.
