Really bad idea. What it will do is cause us to buy more gas and then have a bigger shortage. It has no conservation relevance at all. He was really good in an NPR commentary. The Raleigh News & Observer has an article on the endorsement and the pansy comment is the last sentence in an article that is on pages 1 and 4 of the second section of the paper. There is nothing in the context of those remarks or in his history to suggest that gays were anywhere on his mind when he made his remarks.
