This is serious stuff. I have a wingnut friend who, back in the days of the Reagan presidency told me with a straight face that it would be better for the world to be destroyed, than that ‘American values’ perished from the face of the earth and there were survivors who didn’t share them. This comment is in EPU land, but it is worth considering how our civic religion formed in the 1930s and 1940s to combat the evils of economic depression and fascism got lost in translation and co-opted by the most evil elements of our society.</p> <p>McCain stands for that evil.</p> Don’t laugh.
