I’m sure this latest America-hating outburst by the bigoted preacher and McCain supporter John Hagee will lead to endless 24/7 analysis in the corporate media, especially Faux News, be the subject of an entire presidential debate, and raise all kinds of "electability" issues with regards to St. McCain, right?
PRAGER: Right, but in the case, did NPR get, is this quote correct though that in the case of New Orleans you do feel it was sin?
HAGEE: In the case of New Orleans, their plan to have that homosexual rally was sin. But it never happened. The rally never happened.
PRAGER: No, I understand.
HAGEE: It was scheduled that Monday.
PRAGER: No, I’m only trying to understand that in the case of New Orleans, you do feel that God’s hand was in it because of a sinful city?
HAGEE: That it was a city that was planning a sinful conduct, yes.
Shorter John Hagee: God damned the US because of teh gay.
What’s funny about the timing of this is that St. McCain was in New Orleans today, and got very bitchy about his boy Hagee spoiling his photo-op:
“It’s nonsense, it’s nonsense, it’s nonsense, it’s nonsense, it’s nonsense. I don’t have anything additional to say. It’s nonsense, it’s nonsense, it’s nonsense, I don’t have anything more to say….it’s nonsense. I reject it categorically.”
Uh, that’s not quite good enough St. McCain. Remember what you said about Obama?
I can tell you there are dramatic differences in our views. He’s been endorsed by MoveOn.org, same organization that ran the Petraeus ad. It indicated where he is.
So unless St. McCain completely renounces and rejects Hagee’s endorsement, which he actively pursued and is still "glad to have" — we’ll have to assume by McCain’s own standard that Hagee’s endorsement tells us a lot about "where he is."

So, BT!
nonsense, nonsense, nonsense!
madness, madness, madness!
So?
It’s nonsense!
McCain’s new campaign slogan.
I would like to see this post reconfigured into giant billboards all across America!
Did I forget to say it was nonsense?
Dugg
Hey didn’t get pissed did he, any video?
Tweety doesn’t want an explanation from Rev Wright.
hmm
Reverend Wright or Reverend Hagee?
which preacher do you trust?
RevBev?
RevDeb
Tweety is a fucking punk.
She is a fine soul, I can tell you that.
Hmmm that’s a toughie.. One wants Armageddon and the other doesn’t.
I know the godless HRC will not have to worry about a preacher saying something stupid.
Over at FauxNews on the TeeVee today, they were spankin’ a collective chubbie over Wright’s latest “even more controversial” comments.
EPU or whatever the hell you call it. The Rolling Stone’s Matt Taibi went underground into Hagee’s bootcamp, read it and you’ll puke too
Jesus Made Me Puke
Please! Those words make pictures. In my mind. Aughhh!
Both are victims of their own prejudices. So, neither. But I still haven’t seen McCain reject and denounce Hagee, to whom he is a newcomer to the fold, as he and Hillary have demanded that Obama do.
I read that whole thing when I got my hardcopy RS. The Hagee sidebar is awesome.
except that they’re not controversial. But they gonna give it the old college try. Need something against that skinny dude with the funny sounding middle name
It’s really sad to read how they take people on the edge and use it.
Hmmmm….a homosexual rally, sounds interesting.
Not that there’s anything wrong with it!
You mean The Sheikh?
Sheikh bin al BitterBaraBlackHusseinMadrassaOsamaBama? (his full Christian name)
the AP story I read about the interview certainly doesn’t make it sound like wright said anything controversial … besides calling the thugs on their BS …
I always hear about these things too late.
Yeah. I am so glad to be outa the Bible Belt and more distant from that intellectual drool.
McVain realizes he’s never gonna win without polishing his racist creds. I don’t for a minute believe he is a racist, but for all intents and purposes he’s become one to try and “win” the race. Sad, but true.
From 1959 to 1961, Wright attended Virginia Union University,[1] in Richmond. Inspired by President John F. Kennedy’s 1961 challenge to “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country,” Wright gave up his student deferment, left college and joined the United States Marine Corps and became part of the 2nd Marine Division with the rank of private first class. In 1963, after two years of service, Wright then transferred to the United States Navy and entered the Corpsman School at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center, where he graduated as valedictorian.[8] Having excelled in corpsman school, Wright was then trained as a cardiopulmonary technician at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland where he graduated as salutatorian.[8] Wright was assigned as part of the medical team charged with care of President Lyndon B. Johnson (see photo of Wright caring for Johnson after his 1966 surgery). Before leaving the position in 1967, the White House awarded Wright three letters of commendation.[9][10][11]
BTW, Wesley Snipes just got 3 years — the max –for TEWB.
Photo of Wright with LBJ
what’s the functional difference between being a racist and acting like a racist?
George W. Bush isn’t a war criminal. He’s just commited war crimes …
(just snark)
Do we have Hagee’s CV for comparison?
Born in Baytown, Texas, to Rev. William Bythel Hagee and Mrs. B. Hagee, John Hagee graduated from Trinity University, Texas, with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in 1964.[citation needed] He was on a football scholarship and was on the Academic Dean’s List.[citation needed] Hagee holds a Master’s Degree from the University of North Texas in 1966.[citation needed] He did his theological training at Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas, where he was president of his class and a member of the College Concert Choir[citation needed]. Hagee descends from a long line of Anabaptist Mennonite pastors, which was a factor in the development of his theology and vocation. In 1989, he received an Honorary Doctorate from Oral Roberts University.[citation needed] In 2005, he received another Honorary Doctorate from Netanya Academic College in Israel.[citation needed] Hagee has served on the Oral Roberts University Board of Regents since 1989.[citation needed]
On August 26, 1960, Hagee married his wife Martha.[citation needed] They had two children, Christopher and Tish.[citation needed] In October 1966, Hagee founded Trinity Church in San Antonio, Texas.[citation needed] He resigned his pastorate in May 1975. Hagee and Martha’s marriage ended in divorce[citation needed] in September 1975, and Hagee married Diana on April 12, 1976.[3]. Due to the bylaws of his Assemblies of God denomination, Hagee could no longer be ordained or licensed within.[citation needed] He was defrocked[citation needed], but sued the denomination for millions of dollars due to defamation of character. Today, Hagee and his wife Diana have three children: Christina, Matthew, and Sandy. Matthew is the Associate Pastor of Cornerstone Church [4].
On Mother’s Day of 1975, Hagee founded Castle Hills Assembly, later known as the Church of Castle Hills.[citation needed] Hagee’s 5,000 seat Cornerstone Church was dedicated On October 4, 1987. Dr. W. A. Criswell of Dallas anointed Hagee and Diana before the congregation.[citation needed]
Today, Trinity Church is located just 7.3 miles from Hagee’s Cornerstone Church on the same stretch of highway in San Antonio.
Hagee has written a number of best-selling books and is a Southern Gospel recording artist. [5]
Interesting. Thanks, Raven.
Hypocrite motherfucker is divorced.
So McCain would do things differently than Bush with regard to Katrina. Well in case you have forgotten it, this is what McCain actually was doing in the aftermath of Katrina, on August 29, 2005 to be precise.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news…..-515h.html
Yeah, big difference, right.
Like to see his deferments.
Nicely done
But according to the repugs, he doen’t love america or anything like that
Awesome.
Good for you, Raven! You really did your homework (so I didn’t have to!) I’m glad you brought these aspects of Rev. Wright to light. Too bad the MSM doesn’t do their homework as well; too bad Obama doesn’t make these facts a matter of the public record instead of simply saying he was a marine!
BT, thanks for running that photo again, but I’m not gonna be one to clean up that loaf McSame is about to pinch off. Where’s Lieberman when we need him?
How ’bout we have Rev. Hagee debate Rev. Wright?
Bob in HI
He is a Marine. He does and says what he believes.
Sheeeeeet
Wow, Thanks. “Won’t you please, Won’t you please?
Please won’t you be my neighbor?” Nothing like some kind words. RevBev
Well, at least it’s not a guitar.
On the secular front:
Rush Limbaugh advocates (incites?) riots in Denver during Dem Natl Convention.
I think I see…nope, no outrage there either
*sigh* when karma comes for him, I hope that I have a seat nearby
At what point does that become illegal speech?
Here’s the video of McCain on Hagee
At the point that you are in the Weather Underground.
LOL Per Atrios
Why hasn’t Barack Obama denounced Wesley Snipes yet?
McVain was a product to some extent of the same Navy that I “grew up” in. Racism, even thinly veiled was not tolerated and if expressed was usually a one-way ticket to being handed your walking papers, especially for senior officers. The Navy had several serious racial incidents, including near-mutinies that pretty much woke up not just the “rank and file” but most of the Admirals and others to the inherent problems with “business as usual”.
I don’t know that any of the other services except perhaps the Air Force had quite the same take on racism/race relations that the USN did in the 70s and 80s, but that was when McVain was the CO of a pretty large squadron, and had to do more than just talk the talk to stay in the job. I think he’s compromised those values to win a few (thousand) votes and that certainly speaks to both his integrity and honesty.
FWIW.
Perhaps rerun, or syndication, darling. :)
Hey, it’ worth it to re-post.
Anyone want a wine spritzer? Just got back from a Trader Joes run. Nothing but the finest for my friends at the lake. Wanna smell the bottle cap? kidding. there’s an actual cork.
Sorry, linky problems. Hope this works:
http://www.thedenverchannel.co…..etail.html
A bunch of rioting dittoheads……….that riot will last about 5 minutes
Oh, so the difference is that John didn’t attend one of the churches, either the one he was defrocked from or the other, so it’s ok to have his endorsements. Sports fans, we don’t need the swiftboat vets against Mc Cain.
Will rush be there to lead them on?
If I offer up chips too, can we call it communion.
Just trying to be on topic with the Reverend thing.
That must be the difference between the Navy he grew up in and the Army I was in.
I would make that one correction, and comment that well he should. I agree with some of what he says, but the “GD” america part is a little hard to swallow. OTOH, America has not always done the right thing, and their chickens probably are coming home to roost! I do believe he has vestiges of racism within him (probably with some cause) and I’ve know black folks who said they knew they were prejudice but they fight against it because they know in their hearts it’s wrong. Same as
manymost of us white folk.No just creating another level of being a chicken sh*t hawk. This time for riots not wars.
No alcohol here, I stay in enough trouble! I can’t wait to hear what the Boss has to say tomorrow night>
Got in a little home town jam!
Oh, Honey.
Hugs.
It’ll be okay….
You just let me know, ok?
I believe that would be when it advocates the violent overthrow of the government?
Well, since I don’t believe in god I can’t get all worked up about it.
And, btw, it’s the lightest chardonnay evah…two buck chuck and tonic water.
How much trouble can I get into?
Heh, heh, heh:~)
15 years, I ain’t goin back.
Instaputz reveals McCain’s tell
Got it.
Won’t bring it up.
Would you like some chips tho? With TJ 5 layer bean dip?
We could still call it communion.
(there’s a back story here… for me, anyways.)
I have watched his sermons (in context) and in the context of america having done the wrongs that it has is why he says God damn america. For me it rings true, is this country (gov’t, people) above critcism? When we do wrong, can no one point that out? At this very moment, we are occupying a sovreign nation, where their women, men and children and our young men and women are being killed. I dunno but there is no blessing in that
McCain is never going to win an election. He reeks of the sold out. He used to hate torture, now he endorses it. He used to hate tax cuts, now he loves them. He used to be old, now he’s really old. He used to criticize Bush, now he sounds like him, except he lost to him. He sucks. Besides, Leiberman, he’s going to get like six votes. He’s a joke and his has-been credentials just make him seem out of touch.
New Orleans was a disaster because Bush and the fellow Repugs, including Old Man McCain, dumbed FEMA into the DHS, the biggest, dumbest, costliest bureaucracy in the history of mankind. What the hell do we need the DHS for? And why is a dumb ass like Chertoff running it? Did McCain say that he would fire Chertoff? Or call for his immediate dismissal? That would be something.
Aw, it don’t bother me at all. Mrs Raven partakes, I ain’t no preacher.
Yahoo! Me neither. Not even a Lay Speaker, anymore. Part of the Back Story.
McCain will never denounce Hagee, the press will never cover this.
There will be debates.
But, maybe Bill Moyers? He’s a (former) Baptist Preacher.
Nah….then, he’d hafta tell the trufff.
And what Hugee done bu8t line his own pockets at his flocks expense.. I bet he laughs all the way to the banks at his gullible flock… another rethuglian with a sleazy way to make money!!
Moyers has covered Hagee extensively.
When he changes parties…
Sorry to have gone off topic, I know better :-(
on KO cover up of the suicide attempts of soldiers
Okay. I’ll do some research. Thanks.
(and, I KNOW your a guy. :)
raven at 30–”entered the Corpsman School at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center, where he graduated as valedictorian”
wow, that’s impressive, and in 1963….and then part of lbj’s medical team, and black….at that time, there were many white people who wouldn’t have allowed a black man to touch them, let alone be a part of their medical care…..even today can be an issue…..he must be beyond brilliant.
raven at 35–Hagee has served on the Oral Roberts University Board of Regents since 1989.[citation needed]
this site is offensively delicious, some really funny lines-

hobby lobby owner saves oral roberts university, scary scary man……..
http://www.mediatransparency.o…..toryID=228
and who was it that bailed out regent university a few years ago, was that falwell??/
Someone will have to ask if he will let Feminazis (sic) be in his stormtroops. Maybe Denver could be the perfect venue for pushback against Rush. And underneath the flab, I think he is soft as a toad.
Isn’t that against the law??
It’s worth watching when you have time.
one example of what they’re trying to do to moyers. for years. sneaky as hell, but he’s an alert man. he’s commented before how he and his wife, a producer, just go forward and don’t worry about it.

and once again, a meaty thread given ONE hour………i will always be epu’d/..
New post from TBogg about Greece!
That is rich. Guy truly doesn’t understand the google. But at least he’s eloquent:
Given the definition of “terrorism” I think that it would pretty well qualify. An attempt to influence a legitimate political process by the use of violence?
Not if you are a Republican I fear.
Otherwise, there might be a nice range of choices: Inciting a riot (felony)and domestic terrorism, for starters.
As to the FCC, this may not be as serious as a “wardrobe malfunction”..
Yep Rush Limbaugh “terrorist”
UN Resolution 1566: Terrorism is any act “intended to cause death or serious bodily harm to civilians or non-combatants with the purpose of intimidating a population or compelling a government or an international organization to do or abstain from doing any act.”[
The General Assembly resolution 49/60,[10], titled “Measures to Eliminate International Terrorism,” adopted on December 9, 1994, contains a provision describing terrorism:
“ Criminal acts intended or calculated to provoke a state of terror in the general public, a group of persons or particular persons for political purposes are in any circumstance unjustifiable, whatever the considerations of a political, philosophical, ideological, racial, ethnic, religious or any other nature that may be invoked to justify them. ”
Of course Rush doesn’t believe in the UN so I’d just remind him of this: Chapter 113B of Part I of Title 18 of the United States Criminal Code defines terrorism and lists the crimes associated with terrorism. In Section 2331 of Chapter 113b, terrorism is defined as:
“…activities that involve violent…or life-threatening acts… that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State and… appear to be intended (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping..”
So Rush is pretty much advocating terrorism, I’d say.
OT from MoveOn.org:
Make sure you sign the petition!!
Thanks. Hard to imagine Denver officialdom will take this lying down… Unless they decide “less said the better” in fear of escalation.
Sometimes one gets the impression there is a unwritten talk show host exemption. But this is truly reckless.
Well, good to see that this candidate is patriotic. Does he always stick American flags down his fly?
Can someone please ask Hagee if the Tornados that strike the midwest, like Texas (hagee’s home state), Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas etc are being punished by God for their sins? And why does his God give that sin city- Las Vegas a pass?
Quoth the raven, ‘Nevermore.’
