41% of the vote in, 55% Clinton, 45% Obama.
Christy sends this:
After a six-week lull since the last Democratic primary, Pennsylvania voters were so eager to participate in the hotly contested battle between Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama that one in 10 voting in Tuesday's primary had changed their party registration since the start of 2008 so they would be eligible to vote in the Democratic race. The contest was open only to registered Democrats. About half the party-switchers had been registered Republicans, while the rest had been unaffiliated with either party or were voting for the first time in Pennsylvania.
Most of those new Democrats were mobilized to come out for Obama, and they were nearly one-fifth of Obama's supporters. Even the former Republicans favored Obama over Clinton, largely invalidating rumors that Republicans would vote strategically in the Democratic primary in support of Clinton, hoping she would be easier to defeat in November.
And Politico sez:
Don’t be fooled by early results. The cities and suburbs usually report their returns first, which gives the candidate favored in those areas a quick – and sometimes fleeting – lead. The conservative-leaning small towns through the center of the state usually filter in much later in the evening.
We've got to stop meeting like this.

Dammit. That’s what I get for not cheating.
John Harris was sure the early call for Hillary meant had a “substantial” lead, but he then again, he IS substandard.
Jane!
Here is my much-awaited Pittsburgh-on-the-ground update:
On my way to Drinking Liberally, there were a bunch of kids on the corner, jumping up and down and waving Obama signs. The bus driver beeped at them.
That’s it, that’s my whole update.
I am a great big failure man.
Eli staggers in:
you got us all Drinking Liberally!
Are we done yet?
My favorite line from the closed captioning:
Pennsylvania Department of State:

Obama 307,241 47.5%
Now I want to contribute $5.00 to Hillary because Timmeh made fun of the idea. Do it. I’m for Barack now, but I’m sending the 5 to Hillary.

Precisely.
All I know is that I have gone to sleep happy and woken up miserable many times before and vice versa based on the pundit math.
I’ll just bite my nails down to the quick again and bide my time………
Eli! that was great local color! and an exclusive too!
We appreciate your in-depth reporting :)
Talk about a gender difference.
CNN has Democratic vote by Gender as 41% Male and 59% Female.
I got my one of a Million shirts from Obama today!

What, like a re-enactment or something?
If we had stopped at the light, I might have tried to take a picture. And if I hadn’t been on the opposite side of the bus…
NYT calling Pa. for Hillary but says margin is unlikely to help her in delegates.
anyone threatening to nuke Iran gets no funds from me
I heard that as well.
Eli: any good hangovers from Drinking Liberally?
Aaaargh —I really, really want to change the channel, but I cant find the remote!
Wait, did Keith just say Hillary’s about to make her speech “to celebrate her victory?” Doesn’t it seem just a tad early for that?

I don’t buy somma the BS here… Just sayin’
KMA. (Not you, personally, of course. )
wow
whats pittsburgh looking like? Probably the opposite?
Well, our waitress recounted what happened to her in 2004 when she was in college and all excited about voting for the first time:
There was some group on campus circulating this petition that was supposedly to legalize marijuana, and required the signers’ school and home addresses.
Next thing she knows, they’ve all been registered to vote in their home towns instead of on campus.
Now I want to contribute $5.00 to Hillary because Timmeh made fun of the idea….
ummmm - I’m more in favor of ignoring his Russert ass altogether.
Over the course of his long and indistinguished career, it seems to me that Timmeh has more than earned universal disdain, and the refusal to take anything he says as…… meaningful.
He’s a hired tool
She did win and her camp’s new meme today was, a win is a win
yup … one of the ways she’s disqualified herself. It’s sad …
Anecdotal, of course, but I really don’t see any Clinton signs or supporters here.
ditto.
no, double ditto.
A win is a win, like in who wins the most delegates?
My numbers are off the Pennsylvania Department of State site:

It may be slower, OK it is slower than yours.

Havin’ some fun now!
I only know one thing. I want every one of the sorry *assed Neocons in our government gone by 1/20/09….
That is what I want. That is what the world wants.
A primary contest is not going to rock my world…one way or the other.
McCain must not win in November. Period. If it takes HRC…so be it…Obama…so be it…
But I want what is toxic in our country gone…purged…forever.
So Joe Scarborough and Keith or Candy Crowley in HD
Or just turn off the TV
Nothin’ wrong with slow. I should know. *g*
hmm interesting. Guess we just have to wait it out.
I get so tired … throughout the whole primary bit … of the constantly changing goalposts. For each state, it’s who wins what delegates and that should be it - no matter who it goes to.
Change the whole thing for next time if you want but these continuous new stories from the pundits of what counts or doesn’t count or whathaveyou makes me nuts. Of course, it all makes them big bucks.
Allegheny County includes Pittsburgh,
Philadelphia is it’s own county.
If HRC steals it, blacks bolt and McCain takes the oath
Is Doctor Kirk here? My forkin’ ankles are all swollen up again.
And I can say, this time, with absolute certainty, that I am not pregnant.
the fact that it won’t get her the nomination
Well said.
yes. exactly. Nov is the point!
yeah weird
W00t!
We should totally do that again. If my mean boss lets me take the night off.
I know. But whatever he says and does just makes me do the opposite. I’ll contribute to Obama to counteract the Hillary $5., but Timmeh just pisses me off so much!
ARRRRRGH I want hilary to drop out. She and Bill will destroy the party.

Yes. For the the love of all that is holy, humane, or American, we must win in November.
the die has been cast…… obama will NOT be the nominee…..

Don’t know that I’ve seen you here before - so, welcome.
In the meantime, you couldn’t possibly be more wrong.
Welcome.
Cantaloupe/asparagus/tea.
Electing Hillary Clinton is not a victory for progressives.
Well she is entitled to her opinion but I’m staunchly anti-war and the fact that she even put that on the table is a deal breaker for me. add to that the blamket protection for UAE and some other countries, a broken military and her failure to dismiss the hypothetical by saying that the premise of the hypothetical is bullshit because the NIE states the contrary…well chica is not getting any of my money.
Hillary is NOT middle class.

Hiya Juslin … did you forget your snark tag ?
Jeez, I go to look for the remote and there are 34 new posts!
Love this site.*g*
Donna Brazile actually said something I can agree with - that the Democratic party “actually looks like America.”
Yuck! Paul Begala!
Think I’lll check out Law & Order SVU.
Hillary can’t do better than 8% in her home state? Weak!
Wow! What a jaw that Cavuto woman has. I know a surgeon that could fix that but he usually does it for natal males
Anyone who wont vote for whoever the dem candidate is, doesn’t give a shit about this country. You might as well vote for McCain. There is just too damn much riding on this election to take that stand. The SCOTUS that another republic would put in place would set this country back two hundred years. It is no time to protest with a non vote. IMO.
huh? he’ll get the nomination. the dems do not want to lose another generation of voters like they did with the civil rights movement. It would be suicide for the party
If Obama is not the nominee then we will not win a presidential race for a generation or more. We will have lost the black vote and the youth. They will think they have been robbed. We cannot do that. period.
Clintonista Lisa Caputo faithfully reciting the Clinton campaign Official Talking Points…
And I can say, this time, with absolute certainty, that I am not pregnant.
period?
very good - I salute the question.
and no, I haven’t had a period in a few….
I don’t think that’s the case, Juslin.
She’s been taking a bit too much from the GOP playbook for my taste. Seems like she’s trying too hard to look like a tough guy.
Nevertheless I will vote for her in November becuase the alternative is just unspeakable.
No, that is not really true. If she wins this, she wins it, but there is still a long ways to go.
It is still HRC that must win 60% of each of the contests from PA forward to win the nomination - unless the delegates all fall her way. It could happen…anything can happen. Anything. Anything.
We will see.
What a comedian. You see it isn’t about dice. It’s about delegates.
Blech!!! What???
$107 million says you are right
Well- isn’t that her job?
Is Morning Joe refusing to appear with Rachel Maddow. I wuldn’t bl;ame the little aswipe..s
If she is the nominee.
(preview is my friend)
men-pause?
agreed. if she is the nominee I will vote for her and if she steals it, I will still vote for her and then campaign hard against her come the next cycle
actually i am serious about this…. and what up petro? and all pups….. i didnt want to say anything but this primary coverage has become a song for HRC…
No-one ever seems to remember that…
I remember in 2004, when people were saying that we should elect Dubya to force him to clean up his own mess. Brilliant.
???? Huh
Another conspiracy theory?
Get real.
Oh, so the other $2million is middle class?
watching the Clinton’s come on stage - Chelsea has precisely the same expression and wave as her mother, it’s really quite astonishing
But, could you be wrong?
Yeah, Joe is an *sswipe for sure….I agree.
I had to turn the tv off because she is getting ready to speak and all I see when she talks or even appears is warhawk

NYT has that Obama is set to give a speech at 10:45 ET.
The talking heads want this to drag on because that’s how they earn a fat paycheck … this race is over and Obama has won …
Wonderful and natural diuretics.
Taken in moderation and separately.
