Anybody see the video of Barrack Obama giving a speech in NC and knocking Hillary Clinton and then while doing that pretends he is scratching his cheek with his middle finger and gives that cute smirk he does and the crowd laughs and gets it. I hope this isn’t as bad as it looks.

I thought it was funny when Scarbaby said I don’t mean to be condescending…” and then proceeded to be condescending to everyone on the set who has not run for public office by telling it like it really is, as he knows being someone who has run for public office.
hmmm I think he is really is just scratching his cheek. But I’m not going to read anything into it. I’ve had enough of that

ick, such bottom barrel reasoning. I know what i’m talking about and the rest of you don’t have a clue
I kind of thought it was for me but I thought maybe busted had pulled some thing off I hadn’t heard about… as for the new granddaughter Presley she is beautiful… looks a lot like her big sister Taylor!
i hope he gets canned for walking off the set during a show
Truly a thing of beauty. First, she refused to let him cut her off; she kept on talking and made her point that the petty-attack don’t become news until an opponent launches them. Then he came back in a huff: “I don’t do ‘cross fire’.” Well, shit, he was the one butting in.
But then he went off on his point, which was that it’ll be harder for an opponent to “define” McCain because of his long tenure in Washington, than it will be for an opponent to “define” Obama, who is a relatively new kid on the block. Even, if true, that doesn’t refute what Rachel said.
More to the point, McCain is very vulnerable to his opponent playing the senility card. He has shown too many “senior moments,” and he’s shifting his positions on a daily basis. I don’t think he can remember what his position is.
IIRC, when Reagan ran for re-election he was so far gone that any appearance where he didn’t drool on himself was declared a success by the press.
Well at least Fox news is on the case
busted, you had any luck on finding a coon cat rescue group to get a coon cat?
Gongrats Grandpa!
Crock-a-Joe expected today to be a good “Pound-A-Lefty” day.

gotta take care of one’s self before one can take care of others.
tis a lesson i had to learn the hard way (((busted)))
Obama, was looking and sounding good there…! Do you despise Obama that much, to read things into his every gesture…?
“I don’t think he can remember what his position is.”
I think he mostly tries to concentrate on trying to remember what Bush’s position is…
Two grandsons and four granddaughters… unfortunately none live very close to me… nearest ones are 120 miles away up in Grass valley.. but I made it here to see the newest one…
My Grand daughter ought to be turning 3 in…….

ya still have time busted. be glad you did not remember the evening of.
heh heh…he would probably mishear it half the time even if they did…
Scarborough thing is nice. They are cowardly bullies. If you really challenged them, they will fold. Afterwards they will run into the back rooms and scheme to destroy you, but in public they humiliate themselves and will fold.
That is why important to press against media on this debat thing hard.
Look at ABC’s CYA operation today -they are humiliating themselves.
Yesterday!!!! then a little incarceration and shipped to the Hague for another trial for war crimes long may he live
awwwww that is so sweet. I’m sure you took plenty of pics and can’t wait to see them again.

my son-in-law-to-be comes complete with pre-teen daughters. my younger sister is a grandma of 4 girls.
Yesterday, Eliot Engel a Dem was asking for a resolution condemning Carter for meeting with Hamas… It’s not just the Repugs…!
God forbid..:>)
that is what they do, tell the story but leave out the unflattering parts. no one is fooled by his fully packed baloney. people know it was shit and to depend on ABC to tell the truth (esp after airing that 9/11 crap) is asking the impossible
you notice the waapoo had conflicting op eds (think it was thur) – one condemning carter for talking to hamas and giving a voice to hamas. the other op ed was by a hamas founder
One is plenty, I know.
what was the response to his resolution? a middle finger?
Uh huh. Especially when what the US is trying to do is working out so very well.
“They’re going to stand around the trough with machine guns,” he said of the banks. “They’re not going to kill each other, just keep taking from the taxpayer.”
The Fed has cut interest rates aggressively since the official start of the credit crisis last August, slashing its target for interbank lending by 3 percentage points to 2.25 percent. In addition, it has pumped hundreds of billions of dollars into the banking system and begun accepting shadier assets as collateral in an effort to get financial institutions to begin lending again….Walker Todd, a fellow at the American Institute for Economic Research, said Volcker’s skepticism was justified.”Overnight, without public debate, the Fed gave out half of its balance sheet to the primary dealer community,” said Todd. “They have crossed the line.”
I’m glad you liked it!
I tried not to blast it to every single person so if anyone wants it, just ask and I’ll send it.
at some point your going to have to talk to hamas. they do have the support of the people there because they’re building schools, taking care of the shit people need. the israelies aren’t doing it
Not yet, we’ll see if it gets any further, I know it had a Gooper co-sponsor, I can’t recall who it was… We shall see…!
Don’t know if anyone saw this yet, but the woman who asked the lapel pin question was an ABC plant. Read below. Maybe the vieo of he Clinton smear question was a plant too.
Did ABC do any disclosure that they knew about this woman’s views before hand, that she did not support Obama and had a specific beef about the flag lapel pin? I don’t think so.
ABC is unethical. They need to pay a big price for this and we need to help make sure they pay it.
We should watch the news to find out if the Clinton smear video question was a plant too.
This Nash lady has had a very hard life recently, and I have no problem with her. She has a right to think and say what she wants.
But what about ABC’s behavior?
BTW: its official no lapel pins on the too moderators.
…
Remember that woman from the debate last night who the moderators showed videotape of asking whether Barack Obama “believes in the flag”? Her name is Nash McCabe.
I remember thinking it was sort of odd to have a couple one-off uses of ordinary voter question when it didn’t really seem like it was part of the format. But I was too distracted by the general inanity of the debate to focus on this issue too closely.
Well, it turns out TPM Reader JL did give some thought. And he came up with something very interesting (see JL’s post at the DrexelDems blog). He did a little googling and found out Nash is pretty popular with the traveling press now in Pennsylvania. It turns out McCabe was featured in an April 4th story in the Times which begins like this …
Ask whom she might vote for in the coming presidential primary election and Nash McCabe, 52, seems almost relieved to be able to unpack the dossier she has been collecting in her head.
It is not about whom she likes, but more a bill of particulars about why she cannot vote for Senator Barack Obama of Illinois.
“How can I vote for a president who won’t wear a flag pin?” Mrs. McCabe, a recently unemployed clerk typist, said in a booth at the Valley Dairy luncheonette in this quiet, small city in western Pennsylvania.
Mr. Obama has said patriotism is about ideas, not flag pins.
“I watch him on TV,” Mrs. McCabe said. “I keep looking for that lapel pin.”
…
I think there’s something wrong with it. And part of it is that you usually assume that these citizen questions come from people who are at least partly conflicted about their support if not undecided. But it does reinforce my sense that the disgraceful nature of the debate wasn’t just something that came together wrong, some iffy ideas taken to far, but basically engineered to be crap from the ground up.
(ed.note: Remember, there was also Tom Rooney from Pittsburgh who said he’d been a Clinton supporter up until the Bosnia flap and asked what she could say to get back his vote. In that case, this was at least someone who’d been a Clinton supporter at one point and suggested he could be again. But it’s still basically, “Hillary, can you apologize to me for being a liar?” Not exactly a question. Anyone have more details on Rooney?)
Late Update: Turns out McClatchy is on this case and has plenty of details about how ABC tracked McCabe down.

The Pentagons “War College” has just determined that the Iraq War is an Utter Debacle
Full Report is here National Defense College Report on Iraq
Well there are people who say there is no such thing as bad publicity.
*raises hand*
To All Patriots;
Dear Friend:
Thank you for contacting me to express your opposition to torture. I appreciate hearing from you regarding this very important issue.
You will be pleased to know that we are in complete agreement on this issue. As a member of the Human Rights Caucus, I am adamantly opposed to the use of torture , including waterboarding, by the American military and intelligence services . I passionately believe all forms of torture contradict everything our country stands for in the world. For this reason I am an original cosponsor of the Torture Outsourcing Prevention Act (H.R. 1352). This bill prohibits extraordinary rendition, the process by which the U.S. transports prisoners for interrogation to third-party countries that often have a record of human rights abuses. I am deeply concerned that extraordinary rendition may be tantamount to outsourcing torture. H.R. 1352 has been referred to the Foreign Affairs Committee.
I am also a co-sponsor of H.R. 2212, which requires the President to close Guantanamo , because I believe it has inflicted widespread damage to our country’s international reputation, thereby hindering our fight against terrorism and extremism. H.R. 2212 has been referred to the Armed Services Committee. Further, I share your belief that Habeas Corpus is an inalienable right. I am a cosponsor of two bills (H.R. 1415 and H.R. 1416), introduced by Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), that would repeal provisions of the Military Commissions Act of 2006 that undermined the ancient right of habeas corpus and condoned torture. These bills would restore the ability for federal courts to hear habeas corpus petitions from persons designated by the President as “unlawful enemy combatants,” restore U.S. obligations under the Geneva Conventions, and prohibit the use of coerced testimony. H.R. 1415 and H.R. 1416 have been referred to the Constitution, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties Committee.
Aside from my obvious concern for the protection of human rights, I am also concerned about the potential effects of these issues on our national security. Allowing the U.S. to be on record as condoning torture endangers our own men and women in uniform, greatly damages our image abroad , and threatens our ability to maintain strategic global partnerships. After all, we have consistently condemned the use of torture by other nations and have enacted punitive measures against several countries who are known to practice torture. Thank you again for your letter. Please keep in touch.
Sincerely,
LOIS CAPPS
Member of Congress

Hey bigbrother
I say IMPEACH
Scary is that Bernanke is kind of an egghead Greenspan with more math. He thinks that the Great Depression was mainly a problem of poor response by monetary authorities, and that we know how to jigger the money just right this time. He also was an adament bubble denier. Everything was ticking along fine according to him.
I do not believe Bernanke is an ideological extremist like Greenspan. But academic stubborness can make you as rigid and inflexible.
We may find out how open minded and flexible Bernanke is. I hope the lesson is not too expensive.

I think you’re too kind, in regards to Bernanke…! However, I’ll state that he did inherit the mess, but, he’s consumed too much koolaid to even consider rational options…!

good idea. what are middle and lower income families to do? have to be able to stretch the food bill.
Mr. Obama shows a lot of class with that humor in response to attacks at the last deabte. He is the man.
just like i found out today that the tyroid medicine i take now has just one manufacturer due to pharmco’s corporate gaming and that they no longer manufacture my dose. the only alternate my pharmacist could come up with was to order double the lower by half dose that is available – meaning i will have to take 2 1gm pills instead of 1 2gm pill. of course, that does double the cost of my medication – which i pay out of pocket for.
Here’s the y you left behind.

Dean: I Want Supers To Announce Their Endorsements “Starting Now”
By Eric Kleefeld – April 17, 2008, 10:47PM
Howard Dean is moving up his ultimatum for superdelegates to make their decisions by July 1: “I need them to say who they’re for starting now.”
“We cannot give up two or three months of active campaigning and healing time,” Dean elaborated. In other words, the pressure is on to get a Democratic nominee as soon as possible, perhaps especially in light of the attacks that were flying around at last night’s debate.
Well, I shall bid ya’ll a fond adieu! Please take a gander at my latest post! Aloha Oe!!!

Hey Suze, the record is going to be mastered Saturday! Ye HA!
I should have the stuff back by this time next week! YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
I love/hate gardening. I like digging up the soil and planting the seeds, but I hate weeding the garden all summer, especially when it’s really hot.
Two questions about this: http://firedoglake.com/2008/04…..sadr-city/
1) “Moonless night”…? It’s almost full moon now.
2) WTF! Again with the fences! Evil. It’s evil. It’s just plain punishment against all those people for failing to cave.
i have to wait on planting until the painters finished. i didn’t want them stomping through my garden. we will have some containers and the rest in the planters.
forking SWEET, that guy
Hiya pups.
What do you do when you find out your candidate’s opponent in the Deocratic Primary for a US House seat’s biggest contributor is Rahm Emanuel’s PAC?
tis a punishment wall. what ever happened to the great ray-gun battlecry of tear down this wall – when did it change to build another wall?

Good night CT.
I have good news my dog is back from the vets: verticular syndrome an idio pathic illness that presents suddenly and will begone in a week I hope. He looks like he took Nahants advise and drank a lot of beers he staggers sideways and at first his eyes darted left and right. Now my landlady has allowed me to keep him for two weeks. It great heving the Great Dog again! He had 6 visitors today and was over joyed. That is his therapy asking his friends over. He is so happy to see peeps and other dogs.
Good night dogs at the fiery lake.

Wow! Thanks for that link. I’d like to share a few sentences from that article:
not much time left – and john edwards had a huge chunk of time to remind america of what his platform was (and have fun making fun of himself). it was very very well done
is gonna be the headline at the top of the news box overnight, wigwam. that way all the morning folks will see it when they get up
nite neuro
Suz – nice tryout for John.
Glad to see him.
well, i would say john edwards came off the best out of the 3. of course, i liked john edwards best out of the 3 when he was still campaigning, so i may be slightly prejudiced in my opinion.
Wow Colbert trifecta.
Fuckin A.
We’re still a JRE household.
hey teddy
I’m with you.
He was relaxed and pretty damned funny.
Teddy,
I remember reading the about the frustrations you went through in 2006 in your area in California, as you were trying to get a more progressive agenda going. I’m going through the beginnings of the same process. It sucks. Bigtime.
for sure the most natural. hell, he was so good, he got to do the word
I have a stupid question. Where/how did you find that FDL article? It hasn’t been a front-page thread and isn’t among the current news articles.
on the front page, below this post is the news box. the article is in that box. click on the headline or on the more news link in the upper right of the box to bring up the news page.
no rss fead yet for the news page. i’ve asked but…
Still holding out hope for a jammed-up non-AlGore third ballot miracle.
also, you can bookmark the news page (which is what i’ve done) news is posted every 30 minutes or so (on average)
i am wondering if this wasn’t a try-out for a possible vp slot by edwards
I think you have a much tougher row to hoe, ET. Things are pretty progressive here, just very machine-y as well. I mean, we have a gay Assemblyman challenging our lesbian state Senator in a primary this summer.
But our wonderful progressive Congresswoman — don’t get me started!
As much as I’d love him to be on the ticket, I kinda hope he takes care of his family instead.
of course – family comes first. i think his voice needs to still be heard – his platform pushed to help end the 2 americas.
Teddy – if you’d be willing to move to Daly City (uh, no…), you could have Jackie!
First step is to talk to Howie and Jane.
Second, I’d recommend making the opponent’s relationship to Rahm a major campaign issue.
Rahm has a lot of baggage behind him. He hates progressives and has talked wealthy Republicans into running as democrats against progressives democrats. Mostly he has backed Bush-dogs, and IIRC he has been a major advocate capitulationism in the House, but I don’t have the details.
that’s my recollection too – howie would be the one who keeps track of that.
another reason to get rahmbo outta dc.
thanks. I can’t figure out what Rahm’s PAC does, but looking at other similar PAC’s, they all seem to be some sort of money laundering op.
i think its rahmbo’s power source – the funding he can provide is what he holds over the heads of those he is wanting to do what he wants them to do.
but that is just my opinion et – and a wild-assed guess at that
Hey Suze, you ever hear of ThisGuy?.
He’s wacky but he’s pretty cool. Gotta like someone who calls themselves the “High Sheriff of Hell.”

I suspect that Rahm is closely affiliated with A*P*C. His father fought with Irgun, and I’ve heard that Rahm maintains dual citizenship and worked for the IDF during one of the Mideast Wars.
The contributor list includes some fat cats such as Haim Saban, an Israeli billionaire, who characterizes himself as “a one-issue guy, and my issue is Israel.” Saban is the founding contributor to the Brookings Institution’s Saban Center for Mideast Policy, who members and affiliates include folks like Kenneth Pollack and Michael O’Hanlon and who appear on Hillary’s list of foreign policy advisors. (I suspect Hillary’s pitch about a Mideast security shield came directly from the Saban Center.) Note that Saban was also on that list of 20 contributors who attempted to intimidate Pelosi a couple of weeks ago, regarding her remarks about the proper role of superdelegates.
In any case, it’s speculation on my part, but I bet that Rahm’s PAC is one of the key places where the A*P*C money gets handed out. (I’m told that A*P*C doen’t give mone, only advice.)
YMMV

I guess that would be like Marie Antoinette saying as she was led to the guillotine “Look at how popular I am, the crowd today is amazing!”
lol! funny!

Reminds me of Billo showing up proudly on Colbert, thinking it was a win.
Cept Gibson knows better.
Does he?
I’ve never seen anyone so pleased to get boo’d
He either finds himself a 6 story roof, or he fakes it.
Temerity and balls are dissimilar.
Have you tried Hardy Heron?
he chose balls over brains is my guess
yeah, love it!
I found this to be very interesting:
That way I can have Hardy Heron on my notebook without the hassle of a real installation and the need to learn any more system administration than I know so far.
ah, cool! slax has something like that too.
i sure wish i knew what ya’ll were talking about (laughing) are these browsers?
Cool! But I think I’d prefer full Ubuntu, if that’s what you get under Wubi.
looks cool, if you must *cough* runs windows ;)
My wife gets so annoyed when I walk around with my ubuntu exposed…
If I understand correctly, Wubi allows me to run a full Ubuntu operating system as an application under windows. What’s neat about that is that I don’t have to mess with the tedium of installing Ubuntu as an alternative to Windows. This should be very simple but give me access to the entire Ubuntu environment and all the Linux applications that run under it.
I usually keep it hidden under my wubi, so it’s not normally a problem.
ok, and why would i want to run linex? i’ve heard it mentioned that it is a way to get around gates since its free and open software but what will it do for me that my xp wont?
I’m no great fan of Windows, but running Linux directly on a notebook has generally brought me bad karma.
Partly it’s an ideological thing. But in my case, it’s simply what I’m used to running.
(I use my XP notebook as a thin client to a large remote Linux server.) Unfortunately, I can’t play sounds over that link. They have to play locally.
a life free from Micro$oft?
Here is the hardy forum if you run into any troubles on the Notebook.
