my reluctance to support Hillary can be explained thusly:

anyone who listened to Mark Penn for as long as she did does not have my best interests in mind.

i was a John Edwards supporter. i would prefer to vote for Obama. however, anyone who will not vote for the
Democratic candidate this year does not have the best interests of this country at heart. they are petulant,
selfish and short-sighted.

“Hate knows no reason; people dislike HRC for a lot of reasons, most of which are her own creation.”

LOL!!! Sure. I dislike her for a lot of reasons too. That you fail to see the difference between that and the hatred of her tells me two things:

1)You have not read the article linked to and ignored the content of the posts you responded to and then demanded I prove what I’m saying. Sure glad I didn’t go out of my way to comply with your demand as it’s clearly a waste of time.

2. Trollish behavior from people who don’t regularly behave that way usually means they’re feeling defensive for a reason and further conversation is also a waste of time, so I’ll just leave you to figure the rest out for yourself. A quick request to St Jude may be in order, but my energy is better spent elsewhere.

First, I never used the term “misogyny” even though that’s Paul’s topic here and I understand that it does apply to many including women. I also see a lot of media driven opinion of Hillary as well as a certain intense hatred of her that may be the result of one or the other or some personal “issue”. I don’t care which it is. I do care about the result.

Second, I have been disappointed with Obama’s responses to Hillary and can think of many ways he could do it better…but that’s just me. But to say that means that I’m opening myself to attack from the Obamaniacs who would brook no critique as has happened before. As far as her dragging this out and hurting us, that’s also debatable and another issue totally created by the media. It’s also no reason to hate her.

paul at 147–can’t quote one sentence, everyone go read the whole thing, is the point i’ve been trying to make, what he said added with this—-

like i said, we are taught to discriminate………… each ’ism’ is one twig on a big tree….

it’s how we are taught to make decisions.

discriminate used to be a good word. it has been turned into a bad practice.

discriminate-to distinguish; to select from.
To make a distinction.
Having the difference marked; distinct,

discrimination-Discernment; judgement; distinction.

let’s turn these words back into what our forefathers used them as–

choices we make based on intellect and wisdom. (and experience, which is a form of wisdom)

I know more than a few progressive women who would like to punch HRC, too - are they misogynists as well?

Look, the increasing dislike of HRC among Dems has more to do with her campaign than anything else, and that has been amplified over the last several weeks because it is patently obvious that - barring a meltdown of biblical proportions - she has no chance of winning the primary. None. And the longer she continues the Rovian smear tactics against the likely nominee, the more that frustration intensifies.

I’m sure Obama is a big boy and can handle it (and has done so beautifully, IMO), but the question is why should he have to? Why does HRC insist on dragging this charade out any longer, when to do so is of obvious benefit to the very people we seek to defeat?

Sexism is a very real issue and deserves serious discussion. The use of the term as a blunt-force political tool cheapens the debate, IMO.

paul, the gay thing could be played in many ways, so, no, female, 49…i can’t believe i’m actually 49, blows my gourd……..non-traditional jobs, so, lingo is bisexual so to speak…….lol……

step-brother and step-sister in 25 year relationships with same partners……

lesbian step-sister two invitro pregnancies two sons……the one who taught me about sexist commercials????????
her first son latched onto bulldozer toys as soon as his hands could grab a toy!!!!!! rofl….oh my, we laughed about that. i still crack up about that.

one of best friends from high school, dead from aids.

blood sister’s one of best friends from high school dead from aids.

mom and dad’s friends who were ’guys who lived together’ when we went over there when we were growing up…..dead from aids.

i don’t want anyone who cares about anyone to be excluded, that is pretty much how i look at the world.
my wise best friend once pointed out that you can’t include everyone or by including everyone, someone is left out….i thought about that, and i she’s right, but i still try to do the other.

so all of the ’isms’ kinda do matter to me………

it doesn’t matter whether i like someone or not, it matters what they do to someone else, but that doesn’t mean that i wish them ill or that they be treated badly.

we all belong. all of us. wherever we are. we have a place.

like the saying wherever you go, there you are.

there we are, what kind of place are we in?

and yes, i fight the show tunes thing, i can’t help it, i like musicals….ways to say things nooone will say, one way to get through the wall of ’polite company’ and class how can you not like the irony of that?….but i don’t own any……but i can sing them…….once, all the way to birmingham alabama to stay awake, i sang showtunes to my dog, that’s the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth……but it was like a guilty pleasure like eating pie for dinner or like having illicit sex. i was embarrassed when i said how i stayed awake……but it was a revelatory moment….

i think i’m gonna come out on the show tunes thing and go buy a couple cd’s……..

i gotta stop now, time to reign it in a little…..shite.

Sorry Paul. :)

Perhaps I should have said “poo flinging” as it was the title of one piece by Christy and was used in several threads (also a couple where it was banned). Thers did a wonderful piece for Saturday late night “Your candidate sucks” based on the poo flinging, IMO.

http://firedoglake.com/2008/03.....ng-it-now/
And here:

” I am an equal opportunity jerk — not because I’m noble, but because I ususally don’t even look to see who I’m responding to.”

ummmmm, that’s not a jerk, that’s an asshole…well there are degrees, from jerk to asshole….lol……..math geeks aren’t known for their social skills, i have the luck to be both art and math articulate, so i get to go back and forth from inspired/zen to bitchy. some call that bipolar, rofl.

====
====
”I don’t know anything more about sexism than you do.”

not true, that’s like saying you don’t know anything about fruit because you’ve never eaten an orange or don’t like grapes.

sexism is one twig of a big tree called discrimination….read my 140 again, please, i thought i put it down pretty well.
====
====

” I know it when I see it.”

not all do. but once it’s pointed out to you, kinda hard to not see it after that…….so, as excruciating as this was for you , and others, those who jumped in and those who witnessed it, you did good, cuz now, it’s a bell ringer, once a button is pushed, it’s a cellular awareness. one step closer to stamping it out. making the world a better place………

i once said, everyone wants change, but change is excruciatingly painful, and noone wants the pain.
think about it, when has anyone had inner change that wasn’t?

i wrote a thing once about how negative bonds are just as powerful as positive bonds.

they both have equal impact on how you operate later……someone wants a bond with you? a negative bond has the same pull as a love bond……..

so, anyone who got in this, all were affected, like it or not. permanently.

we all affect the other, when we realize this power, my, what a world this will be.

====
====

”So, why don’t you write a post about sexism? :-)”

i’m not a front-pager : ) and i like being anonymous. hard kind of art form nowadays when egos rule.

everyone–
paul says-
nope. Because I’m not an expert on sexism. I know it when I see it. And i wrote about it because the information found me, I didn’t go looking for it. It was never something I wanted to write about. And it sure as hell wasn’t anything that I wanted to spend about a month on — watching it turn ito a four part series simply because someone would ask a question, and I’d look at the data again, and go “hey, there’s something there.”

see the link above at 144 for how he came down a long road of discovery to write these posts.
one step at a time, not looking for a conclusion, going where the path in the woods led, one bread crumb after another, one mushroom and bird and tree at a time……..till you are sitting on a log going, wow, look at that. look at what the hell i discovered. that’s what he was trying to do… how do i know this? i go about it the same way. so i recognized it.

i’m done, thanks paul, you irreverent asshole…….rofl…….snicker.

not all do. but once it’s pointed out to you, kinda hard to not see it after that…….so, as excruciating as this was for you , and others, those who jumped in and those who witnessed it, you did good, cuz now, it’s a bell ringer, once a button is pushed, it’s a cellular awareness. one step closer to stamping it out. making the world a better place………

i once said, everyone wants change, but change is excruciatingly painful, and noone wants the pain.
think about it, when has anyone had inner change that wasn’t?

i wrote a thing once about how negative bonds are just as powerful as positive bonds.

they both have equal impact on how you operate later……someone wants a bond with you? a negative bond has the same pull as a love bond……..

so, anyone who got in this, all were affected, like it or not. permanently.

we all affect the other, when we realize this power, my, what a world this will be.

I just did. Came up with nothing. Am I not supposed to use scatalogical terms? Gee willikers! Had I know that, my comments would have contained alot less ****s, and ****s, and a lot more “golly”s, and a few “WTF are you talking about?”s
