Congratulations to George W. Bush and the Republican Party for another historic milestone set by the Great Leader:
At 39 months in the doghouse, George W. Bush has surpassed Harry Truman’s record as the postwar president to linger longest without majority public approval.
Bush hasn’t received majority approval for his work in office in ABC News/Washington Post polls since Jan. 16, 2005 three years and three months ago. The previous record was Truman’s during his last 38 months in office.
And the Torturer-in-Chief/Loser-of-Two-Wars has another 8 months to pad his record. Why all the BDS?
His rating specifically on handling the war in Iraq is equally poor — 33 percent approve, 65 percent disapprove — and on the economy it’s even worse, with a record 70 percent disapproval.
It’s the war and the economy, stupid. Good luck with that (R) next to your name, St. McCain. And every other Gooper for the next several election cycles for that matter.
And here’s why St. McCain is really screwed:
Just 7 percent of Democrats approve of his work overall (a point from the low in this group) compared with 74 percent of Republicans. (Fewer Republicans, 59 percent, approve of his work on the economy, a career low.)
St. McCain can’t run against Bush because he’ll piss off the fraction of the population he desperately needs to win: the delusional Bush dead-enders known as the Republican base, who think everything is just awesome and King George is George Washington. My question is: how many wars does Bush have to lose, how bad does the economy have to get, how many US cities have to drown, how many laws does Bush have to break before Republicans finally disown this loser?
But this is what warms my heart. All those "average Americans" that David Brooks, George Will and David Broder are always talking about really, really hate Bush too.
The balance, as often is the case in U.S. politics, is tipped by the political center. Just 27 percent of independents and 23 percent of moderates approve of his job performance, the latter a career low for the president.
Anyway, I’ll sign off now, because people are really tired of this Bush-bashing stuff.

hooray!
McBush will stick with Clusterfuck through the convention- but don’t expect the prez to speak before midnight or after noon.
From now through the convention- McBush needs to collect many bags of money.
After the convention- he’ll try to do a neat pirouette and start running away from the great Clusterfucker.
Neat trick!
Hey, where is everybody? Don’t tell me they too decided to stop bashing Bush? Darn. I guess that means I have to get back to work. :-(
There are no wars to lose or to win. There are no wars. There are only military operations.
I’m not tired of bashing. I could do it 24/7.
“…because people are really tired of this Bush-bashing stuff.”
I am, too, so in that spirit I’d like to send George W. Bush hearty congratulations for officially becoming the Worst. President. In. History.
then this is for you
many of us casted our vote for shrub as the.worst.president.ever. years ago
thanks. I signed up. *g*
Okay, the 7 percent of Dems who think Bush is doing a good job? Who ARE THESE PEOPLE? Zell Miller clones, I guess? How are there that many??
Lieberdems. And Likudems.
And the MSM will go along with it, spreading rose petals and dough nuts in his path.
Many of us here have known he was the worst President in our history for some time now. But it’s good to see it’s official. Now I still want every reporter who asks Bush a question to start it: Seeing how you are now officially the worst President in our history, [insert question here or statement Why should we believe anything you say?]
lieberpuke clones
OT
Nadler up on FBI letters abuse.

McBush has figured one thing out, how to make friends with reporters- something Clusterfuck did well also…
Why can’t a dem learn to do that? Sit in the back of the plane and play some gin with the press- joke with em- have a glass of wine.
Hard to see either dem candidate doing that somehow- but maybe they could/do.
yeah, what BT said *g* ( I didn’t see your post before I sent mine up the line)
Okay, yes. Now that I think about it I know someone like this – a lifelong Democrat who has dual allegiances to the U.S. and Israel and voted for Bush twice for that reason. But these people constitute 7 percent of Dems polled? (Because Jews of all political stripes aren’t even 7 percent of the population.)
If only McCain had called Cindy a trollope and a c*** in the era of video-capable cellphones.
Probably pretty close to 7% jewish vote in the dem party- but there are other dem groups who may be with Bush on some issues…
Religious dems who are pro life
veteran dems who are pro Iraq war
labor dems who are against job losing restraints on their industry
etc.
As Glenn Greenwald has pointed out several times, polls show American Jews tend to be far more liberal about Middle East policies than AIP*C would have us believe and are as liberal as or more liberal than the general population.
the MSM still would have ignored it. It’s the bbq ribs, they must have magical powers
The Liebermans. He still styles himself a Dem, though just barely.
Who the **** are these 33%? 33% of this country cannot possibly be profiting from this war, and even a percentage of those who are can’t possibly think he’s done a good job on the war.
Is a third of this country really that depraved???
Prediction:
Lieberwurst will never run again for political office as a dem.
I know it’s just me but I would like to think that it was Bush’s admission that he promoted torture that put him over the top –or bottom as it were.
This poll shows just how important it is to tie McCain to Bush as closely as we can in the general election. I’ve been thinking about a branding campaign that uses a bumpersticker that takes off on the old W-04 stickers where the W is very large font and the 04 is smaller with a wavy flag above it. Replace the 04 with “rong” (and a wavy flag, of course) and then say “McCain is Wrong”. From a distance, it will read “McCain is W”. We can then also use “Torture is Wrong” and “[your Republican rubber stamp Congresscitter’s name here] is Wrong”. The idea is to make all these things and people inherently wrong and tied to Bush. If we are running against Bush, there isn’t a race we can’t win. I’ve given mockups to my local Democratic Congress challenger. Anybody else think this could work?
I’ve been wondering that, too. If all it takes is a bit of schmoozing, why the hell not? It’s called sales, and you take a deduction for it on your tax returns. It’s not as if a candidate actually has to deliver. We know that from 25 years of experience. The Democrats have learned some things in the past 6 years, like how to fight. But they haven’t learned how to schmooze the media. First you schmooze them, then when you get in power, you set the FBI on them and scare the living shit out of them. Why can’t our guys learn how to do that?
It is just propaganda.
He is such a little man. It’s like having an unfunny Barney Fife for preznit.
Depraved is the new Republicanism. A good chunk of these are what we used to call the MFM vote.
Doubt it
He’s been sinking for months- pulling in career lows in most polls.
Probably the economy.
He doesn’t sink below 30% without lots of goopers jumping ship on him- and they aren’t bailing because of the torture issue in my opinion. They don’t mind torture as long as it’s a moslem bein tortured.
Well, this thirty-three percent are about eight percent more that those who opposed the formation of this nation in the first place.
Perhaps, there is a connection?
Maybe it’s genetic, or perhaps that is as far ‘up’ the thought chain as they are able to ‘get’?
I forgot.
(snark) Happy Tax Day, pups (/snark)
Double meaning news headline of the day (for me)
Obama wants AG to probe Bush teehee
GROUPS — All of Bush’s ratings are marked by sharp partisanship. Just 7 percent of Democrats approve of his work overall (a point from the low in this group) compared with 74 percent of Republicans. (Fewer Republicans, 59 percent, approve of his work on the economy, a career low.)
(from the poll analysis linked above)
umm forgot link
here
So it looks as if it’s goopers bailin on Clusterfuck on the economy that’s causing the career lows.
hope he is derided, and hissed at like at the first ball game this year…vile steaming turd…vile
casualties in Iraq on the rise this month….Are we still surgin?
fling steaming piles at him?
Look for Short Ride to slide for a couple of years after 2012 because of the new rules (2 years before they can lobby Congress) and then go to work for his wife’s old firm or just move to Israel straight off.
What did the ’surgin’ general have to say?
Clusterfuck has convinced many that we can control the situation in Iraq by havin more troops there and killin more people….When people find out that we really have no control at all over the situation and that casualties rise and fall without regard for what we do- they’ll bail on the deal
“surgin general”
Now that was funny- thanks!
my cat hary makes perfectly symetrical poop…everyone save your tootsie rappers for me,i need to find a mailbox where to post em
;~D
Exactly….I hope no one paid for this survey, information, opinion, whatever. Why? Because I could have told them myself.
Since the surge was declared a great success- some goopers have been comin out of the closet where they’ve been hidin for months and have begun to sing faint praises of their Clusterfuckin hero lately….If casualties go up again- that’s all she wrote. They’ll put bags over their heads.
“My question is: how many wars does Bush have to lose, how bad does the economy have to get, how many US cities have to drown, how many laws does Bush have to break before Republicans finally disown this loser?”
I think that’s four questions, actually. :-) The answer though is simple: they will not break with him because he stands for Republican principles. This is the Republican intention: everybody’s poor, sick and/or dead but them and their favorite corporations.
sadly true/
If only we could find some effective way to show George just how much he means to us …
Yes, I know it is the economy and high gas prices but I do wish that torture had something to do with it although I know it didn’t.
It would be irrational to believe that Gooper Principles are correct and at the same time- to reject the great clusterfucker who embodies said principles and who has lived his career by them…
If yer gonna give up Clusterfuck- you’ve got to admit the principles have failed- if yer gonna give up the principles- ya’ve gotta give up the guy who lived em…it’s all or nothin.
That picture, though seemingly a tad photoshopped, accurately captures Bush’s defining characteristic; fiery adolescent petulance.
Please don’t do a Matalin and sign off too soon because of all this Bush Bashing, aka earned criticism of his admitted and documented illegal behavior. The likes of Bobo Brooks are just getting warmed up.
Brooks today tries to sandwich Obama somewhere between the reactionary Lou Dobbs (who doesn’t seem fond of little brown people from anywhere) and Bill Clinton (the first “black” President, whom the ReichWing hates more than taxes). As usual, his piece is redundant to the slur in its headline, purporting to describe Obama’s A Speech About Nothing.
Bobo’s reputation is built on lies and shoddy research incorporated into his most publicly acclaimed work. On an earlier thread, he was accurately fashioned as the Jayson Blair of the Times’ OpEd page. But Bill Kristol is giving him a run for his money.
With 60 or more dead today I suppose it depends on how success is defined or rather not defined. This is another case of the Republicans trying to sell a narrative. It has nothing to do with facts or reality but snake oil and a complicit media.
I’ve got one that duplicates the whipped cream swirl on top of sundaes, ‘cept it looks like a chocolate swirl. Going to a mucky-muck wedding in June, figgered I’d add some decorations to the dessert tray. A lot of my boss’s Rethug “friends” were invited cuz of course the wedding isn’t about my boss’s daughter, it’s about him. Guy is such a self-centered asshole. Wife wanted to substitute cupcakes for the wedding cake because of the cost of a cake. Oh, man, don’t get me started on this sorry pair.
who wudda thunk it?
hehehe ewww
Torture=’enhanced interrogation’=effective polling=simple opinion-shifting.
No big deal.
On the plus side, he did knock over the Sun Sphere.
Eight short months and he can go back to pulling the wings off flies and shoving firecrackers up frogs’ asses. Mission accomplished, President Gag Gift!
Absolutely
Casualties were down because the combatants decided that layin low was temporarily best for their long term political survival- not because there were more american troops killin em- but it’s the sort of bullshit people love to gobble down- and it’s VERY vulnerable to changes on the ground- which is why Patreaus wasn’t jumpin up and down about his great numbers like the Clusterfucker does.
“Highly Fragile”
But we need Insane McCain to fight the Terrorists For The Caliphate. Al Qaeda is different. They walk through walls. They can change their appearance to blue-eyed and blond. They attend US Military bases. They get money from Saudi Arabia’s Prince Bandar. They get nuclear weapons technology from Mark Grossman, Condi Rice’s assistant. Also, Torture Guy just warned us, they will take over the Iraq Oil if we cut and run.
Give Crazy John credit. It is not just Stay the Course, but “There’s going to be other wars”. Take that Al Qaeda!
Brooks as “the Jayson Blair of the Times’ OpEd page.” I like that. It captures both the self-promotion and the mendacity.
hmmm so crazy train’s middle class tax plan is a mini trickle down. It worked so well thelast freaking time, didn’t it?
oh dooo take pics”G”
listen i have to DEAL with them anyway…i have gloves
‘g’
Hope we have a good bookmark somewhere of McBush’s statement that “If the war goes badly- I’ll LOSE”. I know he tried to take it back later- but without success.
I think most of that 30 percentile live around me. The local newspapers still carry crazy loon syndicated writers. Someone must read ‘em. I certainly don’t. It has to be the Faux news watchers and Limpball listeners. Most of those types live in caves, I am told, which we have around here, too.
haha hahahahHAH!
Suppose DC was suddenly innudated with frogs?
At least it would keep Georgie occupied, and the frogs would have a blast!
cut taxes for the rich and umm cut spending. Where would he cut spending? not to the biggest money pit we have (the war) oh noes oh noes, he gonna cut program spending (how mavericky of him)
given the skills of sadlyyes’s cat (#46), perhaps we could mass mail those tootsie wrappers to the sugin’ general so he’d “See forEver Its Poop.”

Seems appropriate.
You betch ‘um, Red Ryder.
But it’s not just that Bush is the worst president ever. It’s the entire freaking administration. Worst VP ever, worst AGs ever, worst education secretary, HUD secretary, Secretary of State, Defense….it goes on and on. What other winners have we got for WORST EVER?
I think that could be a very poopular idea, bonkers.
;~D
i also have a supply of dung beetles, living near a farm”g”
They all have won under the collective worst.humans.on.the.planet.
Well the EPA group hasn’t exactly made heroes of themselves—-Christy Todd Whitman at least had the integrity to RESIGN.
You mean ‘winners’ connected to Boosh?
Why just about everything, natchchurlee.
The “cut spending” part is the lie told over and over by Republics. It never really happens.
Not mine, but it’s a great analogy. The Phila. Mag. article discussed earlier points the way, especially its quotes of Bobo’s attempts to defend his shoddy work by suggesting it was above the reviewer’s ability to review. Ham-fisted attempt at a Rovian put down, but indicative that extemporaneous Bobo isn’t as quick as he pretends to be in print.
US casualties in Iraq on track to reach fifty- which would be the highest since the surge was declared a great success..President Wrong Way Corrigan at it again.
Love the pic, BT! Great post, too! Thanks for drawing this very pleasing milestone to our attention.
His popiness has arrived. I am so underwhelmed. The most he has said about the sex crimes here is that he is ‘embarrassed’. Come on, I’m embarrassed when walk around with my zipper down. this rose past the occasion of embarrassment
i always send good candy to the liberal media guys, why not the opposite to BOBO,and i havent seen the moustache of understanding for a whole Friedman
it’s the old repug saying :
tell them it’s going to trickle down then talk about

After sayin many harsh things about the Pope-a-dope- I am forced to reconsider after learning that he refuses to break bread with Clusterfuck…..Good on ya Popey!
ditto, chimp would prolly get ketchup on his white robes
more gooper madness
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/…..96796.html
I did give him points on that but he burned them up when I learned that he has put Pius XII on the fast track to sainthood. Bad move, ratz
…and then flies, then fleas, then lice, then locusts…hm, this reminds me of a story I read somewhere.
Inflation jumps in March at the wholesale level- biggest jump in years- means we’ll all see it at the retail level soon….
FED facing clear stagflation signals- which makes em both shit and go blind. No good advice for the poor fuckers- pick a chimp as a leader and reap what ya sow.
Wow, me too. Picture made me laugh out loud. Any idea where it came from? Maybe they could do a Class Photo with some of those mentioned above: Rove, AG, Condi, etc. Something along the lines of a mushroom-shaped cloud. Maybe a picture of Dick’ duckhunting friend Whittington to remind us all of our smart and focused and sharp and accurate they are….instead of just sch….s
The pope’s a highly religious soul, a very big person, perhaps the ‘whole business’ of less than proper priestly behavior has only now reached his zipper.
He does have a zipper, doesn’t he.
Must have had, back in ‘the’ day.
But, perhaps with his robes, he doesn’t.
I don’t know anything about religious matters like that, though, I confess.
The Decider does not care. No one from his family serves and very few even notice that they do not serve.
oh and look there is the ‘ahem’ mayor of L.A.
I’m not well versed on Papal matters….this is kinda like the papal Hall of Fame- in Canton, Ohio?
In my scandals list (items 338 and 340), I looked at a couple of GAO reports on military acquisitions. It’s not as much as we spend upon Bush’s wars but it is about half of that cost (on a yearly basis, the final cost estimates are $1.6 trillion). What I think is important and not understood is what kind of a military is being built for the future and how little of it represents real defense needs. In particular, I bet most people don’t know that Bush’s missile defense shield (that doesn’t work) is the single largest item currently being funded.
Anyone sign any petitions today? Here are some of my favorites.
[repaired by mod]
In a stunning admission to ABC news Friday night, President Bush declared that he knew his top national security advisers discussed and approved specific details of the CIA’s use of torture. Bush also defended the use of waterboarding – simulated drowning where the victim feels like they are about to die.
I wonder what kind of response I will get from Torture-Joe Lieberman. He no longer addresses his letters (at least to me) as “Dear Friend.”
I have no desire to know what’s under a priest’s robe (double ick) I suppose that is what got them in trouble in the first place. Somethings just need to be left undiscovered, like the holy grail or something.
Oops. ACLU. Demand accountability from Chief-Torturer.
That would be great. Bet darkblack has something…
Actually I would rather demand impeachment. Quite frankly.
Bush destroyed the value of the US dollar. McCain’s promising more of the same…and the Clinton’s want him to be elected. We need NEW leadership, not repeats.
Is it all for crap. Or should we worry about being militarily invaded by the executive wing?
I have never heard of that *g*
Pius XII was the head of the church during at the time NSP (nazis) came to power. He and the church had blood on their hands.
The dollar has dropped 40% on Bush’s watch. I still don’t understand why there aren’t riots in the streets over this. And they dare to talk about having a Strong Dollar policy.
What makes you say Clinton wants McCain elected?
I believe with robes you can just hike them up. Of course, he may be above that kind of thing which would explain the constipated look and ideas.
egads a bio on Cindy McCain on my teevee. *searching for mute*
Got to get all those contracts before the term ends. I do not know how much can be undone. Blackwater, Halliburton, the Embassy. Yeah, but where else would we have spent the $$: O, maybe cancer research, education, Katrina, medical care. I know. Just not important. (Im afraid Ive started talking to myself.)
I hope someone in the Obama camp quotes this in the media.
“If [Republicans] could cut funding for Medicare, Medicaid, education, and the environment, middle-class Americans would see fewer benefits from their tax dollars, feel more resentful paying taxes, and become even more receptive to their appeals for tax cuts and their strategy of waging campaigns on divisive social and cultural issues like abortion, gay rights, and guns.”
– Bill Clinton, in his 2004 memoirs, My Life, making the same argument as Sen. Barack Obama.
Most of it reads like a Christmas list for generals and admirals.
Regarding the photo, you do know that he does that fairly regularly, considering. Google images gave me four distinct ones to “Bush finger” straightaway, and still didn’t give two of the most famous, one of which is an early one from the 2000 campaign I think, where he’s waiting for a spot to roll and does it right into the camera.
rwc quotes McC: “If the war goes badly- I’ll LOSE”
Dang, that’s getting up there close to “My brother told me I would win Florida!”
DWB fakes me out: Suppose DC was suddenly innudated with frogs?
Oh, you meant real gribbety frogs. Come to think of it though, maybe that does explain why those folks are so timid with him. Hmmm …
RevB:
Maybe they could do a Class Photo with some of those mentioned above: Rove, AG, Condi, etc. Something along the lines of a mushroom-shaped cloud.
Pose them in front of one over the White House, or maybe Capitol, and have them pointing back at it with some of those silly Abu Ghraib grins on their faces.
Let us know if they explain the way she dresses.
With this administration, nothing surprises me. reverse midas touch. everything he touces, turns to shit
I have to wonder what the motivation for HRC actually is at this point. Can she actually get enough popularly elected delegates to get the nomination and has she become “damaged goods” by her conduct thus far? She’s attempted to make Obama damaged goods, and by all appearances is succeeding fairly well with the SCLM.
I am sick to death of the whole thing, and wish that Edwards or Richardson had been the nominee and that we were on our way to building a working coalition of Democrats and independants to take back the White House. Instead, I am reduced to being bitter about the fact that McCain is getting the freest of free rides while HRC campaigns for him in her quest for what she once viewed as an inevitable “coronation”.
MMM not the same argument as I read it.
O
peeps hold too many jobs…hey exhausted! thats the PLAN
Hugh points out: In particular, I bet most people don’t know that Bush’s missile defense shield (that doesn’t work) is the single largest item currently being funded.
Not only that, but in the recent NATO conference the Euros were willing to let Bush have the shield in return for not admitting some of the Eastern Euro nations bordering Russia. Tells you something about what they think might actually come to pass, imo.
All I heard was that she is an exec in her family’s beer distribution business (no mention of the eight homes) and that she spends much of her time doing charitable work (then they showed her touring kosovo regarding the land mines). It was a nice fluff piece. This is the first time that I have ever paid attention to her on t.v. and she has the same silver blue/ice blue eyes as my father in law.
I think HRC and Obama have a pact. Fling everything at each other now, deal with it, and then run as a ticket together against the McBitter.
lmao!
color blind?
Do you mean those proper little pant suits?
A week to go until the Pennsylvania election…Seems like it’s been years we’ve been waiting to get this one over.
Republicans could cut funding for Medicare, Medicaid, education, and the environment, middle-class Americans would see fewer benefits from their tax dollars,
feel more resentful paying taxes, and become even more receptive to their appeals for tax cuts and their strategy of waging campaigns on divisive social and cultural issues like abortion, gay rights, and guns.
they will be bitter
Legend has it, that to prepare himself for his eventual and inevitable rise to power, to the very ‘top’ of that pinnacle, young Georgie would shove a firecraker up a certain portion of a frog’s anatomy and light the fuse …
Presumably, he received rather consistent results.
A prime learning experience for all involved.
I was merely polishing the lustre on Great Leader’s well deserved notoriety.
I’m getting really horrified by those 410 children separated from their mothers here in Texas. I feel so sorry for the mothers and the children. They are talking about putting them in foster homes. If there was abuse, certainly the mothers are victims… :(
The most damaging part of Obama’s comment was the implication that poor people are only religious because they are poor. Clinton’s comment doesn’t have that implication.
Rather large difference I would think.
‘notoriety’! Jeez… again.
well religion is the great equalizer, according to the Bible, camels and needles imo
It’s warming up- the dog’s out sunnin herself on the patio. Must be time to play golf.
No they are unthinking partisans. Many of us are also unthinking partisans, it’s just that bush and his thugs have fucked things up so badly that the unthinking partisans on the left are included in the same universe as the sane Democratic, Republican and Independent thinkers. Thinking Republicans have left the fold leaving only the bitter 30% who will never change.
my dog has been out all morning too, of course he keeps begging to come in…go figure
ok, must go rock and roll….love yall
Yes, and she really has (in the past) liked the kind of charities that let her get unfettered access to Controlled Substances.
Had it been a lesser mortal, they would have gone to “rehab” in the federal lock-up.
bye sadly…
I took my mom to Israel for her 70th birthday….we went with a baptist minister and his flock- cause that’s what she wanted to do….One of the parishoners spent half the trip tryin to re-explain that passage from the bible —-
(The “eye” of the needle really referred to one of the gates in Jerusalem- which was low enough that a camel would have to kneel down to get through it- so a rich guy can get to heaven if he prays enough)..Fascinating stuff.
haha..why does ‘pant suit’ make me laugh
Mine is spoiled– she comes and goes as she likes..she’s a sun worshipper.
I was taught that the ”eye of the needle” was a narrow gate, so the rich man would have to take his excess stuff off the camel to get through.
I think Obama meant that, when people are suffering from severe economic conditions, they tend to gravitate to their religious community for security because they don’t have any other support system…and that the immense sense of powerlessness leads to anger and bitterness which in some people can lead to violence…many people feel empowered by being armed. It is an issue of powerlessness in society and fear that your world is falling apart and you have nowhere to turn.. JMHO
Last night someone had a piece up about Cindy McCain’s father Jim Hensley’s ties to the mob and felony conviction. Then there is her own drug addiction and drug stealing history. I bring these up because if she were the wife of a Democratic candidate (say Michelle Obama) I wonder how the media would portray them and her.
Yes, and the neon colors.
Ding.
What was the reason for the non-stop bitter business? Are they wanting to run against Hillary and afraid of Barack?
No one likes the “literal” interpretation- odd among these “literalists”. They don’t like the “Then sell all you have and give it to the poor” line either..Nor do they like the passages in Acts that make it clear that the early church was communist—out and out commie– not even pink.
Americans actually prefer “drive in” religion. Come on in and listen to the rock an roll music- and we won’t make you do anything you don’t want ta do as long as you lay some bread on us.”
This must be what they mean by “nooner”. I have probably last weight laughing. You all have a good afternoon. I think maybe W flashes that sign to try to prove that he is a Texan. Bye now.
Sort of OT:
I signed the impeach Bush/Cheney for torture memo at democrats.com this morning. I have already gotten a response from Rep. Jerry Costello’s office and I am livid! Here is the pertinent part:
“I voted against impeaching President Clinton because the charges against him did not meet the high standards of impeachment under the Constitution. Similarly, the charges against President Bush do not meet these standards.”
Jeebus!! What would these bastards have to do?
Agreed. I would just have avoided the actual red meat direct allusions of “God” and “guns” while making the same point. Unforced error. But, not at match point, fortunately.
Keating Five Senator
Drug-stealing addict wife (because you’re never an “ex” addict, right)
All set to be the Media’s “First Couple”
They’re sure Obama will be the candidate and they want to kick the holy shit out of him- as we would want to do if McNasty made a similar fuck up—at least that’s how I read it.
As the Bush economy sinks slowly under the horizon, here’s a useful interactive tool, by zipcode, to measure the progress: foreclosures.com
Well that’s a much better interpretation—opponents will obviously be tryin to sell the other one.
I concluded that they just want to take a word and distort it any way that they can. It doesn’t have to make sense; just be petty and snarky and belittling and get people riled up. Could be anything said. Hannity is still riding the minister story and adding in all sort of Black power associations. Trash.
One of the problems here is that the message that has come down to these folks for the past 80+ years is that anyone outside of the “inner circle” is damned and is trying to hurt them. So it is no wonder that the moms feel a) that they have no place to go except back to the life that they are familiar with and b) that they are being attacked.
Write him back and tell him the illegal approval of torturing human beings is about as high as you can go.
That is outrageous.
I suppose that is one way of interpreting it, but I failed to see it as such.
What ‘charges’ does he think he is alluding too?
Maybe he never read the Patriot Act? Or maybe his bread is buttered rather differently from ours’.
It’s a question of where HIS loyaties lie, or dissemble …
that is what came through my filter
oh the kill whitey angle….
Perhaps he nevah read the Constitution?
I wrote back:
“Since you put torture, mass murder, and violations of international law in the same category as consensual sex and lies about consensual sex, I can no longer support you in office.”
(fat lot of good it will do. this is Illinois :-( )
Good for you!
Oh I know, but I really did think for a moment of Aristophanes’s frogs, or maybe some of the swamp thangs that Dante found in the marshes where the fraudulent were sent in Hades.
So many examples of the truly pathetic have convened in Congress, these days …
Actually, such an amphibious assemblage as you suggest, might improve things in DC, if anyone noticed.
;~D
WWKD?
[Kermit, of course!]
Sesame, sesa-you.
Kermit’s got class and he understands, ‘green’.
And a letter to the Editor of the St. Louis Post Dispatch.
Thanks, I’m cooling down now. Besides, I’m running out of things to do.
Sorry…
One of the things I’ve found in every country I’ve visited is that a certain percentage of people, no matter how depraved their leaders, how much corruption there is, and how much they suffer as a result…still believe that their leader is “doing a great job” or is simply being undermined by others.
I call it the “Reverence of Power” effect. I suspect it runs to about 20%…it’s the Stockholm Syndrome at the National Scale.
What is sad is that most Americans don’t know the real John McCain. Yes, they hate BUSH, but no matter what McCain says, they think HE is different. The MSM is doing its job well. Most Americans actually believe it.
Take my mother. She doesn’t believe me when I tell her about McCain. She falls hook, line, and sinker for the BS. Why? Probably because MOST Americans believe that tripe. I am completely unlike her. She always sides with MOST Americans. When I side with most Americans, I start doubting myself. (Good thing this hasn’t happened often.)
Worst President ever??? That description goes nowhere near what this sorry excuse for a human being really is…. SCUM of The Earth…. he isso low he has to look up to look down….He doesn’t walk in the gutter he is the gutter.
He will be remembered for destroying the Grand Experiment that our fore founders passed on to us all that has lasted for so many years. He will be accused of bringing about the downfall of the American dream!
