was just linking about Ms Fisher this morning - didn’t know about the Lichtblau article - nice to see some giant rays of sunshine coming her way

also forgot she is tied in to Gitmo/Torture

No kidding, Jane Lake, later to be Harman, was by all acounts a very good lawyer at that. She was even the chief counsel and staff director for the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Constitutional Rights!

There is never going to be UNITY in the country. There’s too much money to be made in creating a rift! Look at the money the Republican’s have raised over the years on the fear of gay rights or woman’s rights. Politics is big business and by creating or enhancing divisions the money continues to flow in. Look at what the NRA has been able to do anytime the question of any sort of gun control comes up. They bring in millions.

Republican effort jails largest Democratic donor in Mississippi, helps put ex-RNC chairman in governor’s chair

The Permanent Republican Majority Part V

In an exclusive interview with RAW STORY, a former Mississippi Republican state legislator who was later backed by Democrats to win a seat on the Mississippi Supreme Court discussed political prosecutions and what he sees as the corruption and politicization of the Department of Justice.

Mississippi Supreme Court Justice Oliver Diaz Jr. was indicted in 2003 on charges relating to his receipt of a loan guarantee from trial lawyer Paul Minor – a personal friend and the largest Democratic donor in Mississippi – to help defray campaign debts. A Bush-appointed US Attorney, Dunnica Lampton, brought charges of bribery against Diaz, Minor and two other Mississippi judges.

Diaz was acquitted of all those charges. A jury acquitted Minor of the charges related to Diaz, but was unable to reach a verdict on other charges. Within days of his acquittal, Diaz was indicted a second time. He was again acquitted.

I think there is a segment of ‘merkin society that pays attention and they are highly polarized and a giant segment that doesn’t pay attention at all or at least doesn’t pay attention to the details and it is that great mass in the middle that is the most easily manipulable…and has been mightily these past 7 or 8 yrs. And as for selfishness, well I guess we all are to one degree or another, being human and all.

I hate to say it, or even think it, for that matter, but to my way of thinking, if this thing is anywhere near as big as what it seems, there is no way some very high up in the ranks Democrats are not complicit. They simply cannot be so stupid. I believe at the top, decisions otherwise known as deals otherwise known as choices were made to stash a lot of this stuff under the rug as the price for accession to power. A lot of big wheels in the Democratic party were made to feel that the country would be better off, on the heels of the Clinton scandal debacle, not knowing how far and wide corruption in the ranks of Congress and the executive branch goes. They extracted their prices and solidified their deals, and now, since their choices could just as easily be revealed in the course of some prosecutions, they are being blackmailed into turning the other cheek and averting their eyes a lot. Do I, for instance, believe for a moment that a lawyer, namely Jane Harman, could be so stupid that she is being honest when she says that she did not know domestic spying without a warrant was unconstitutional? Please! They are insulting all our intelligence. People like Pelosi and Harman and Reid know where virtually all the bodies are buried. That’s how they got their positions and that’s how they keep them. Too bad Nancy refused to live up to her pre-election promise to drain the swamp. Time to tell them we know that, too.
