Albert Collins, Lonnie Mack, and Roy Buchanan shared the Carnegie Hall stage on December 6, 1985, and had the legendary joint jumping with Further On Down the Road.

Hi Suzanne
Hey! Haven’t been first in a long old time!
I mean second.
hey katy and loohoo
how’s everyone doing tonight?
Big wave to RGB if your hanging around…. they are predicting it will be over 100 degrees this weekend…
i’ll pass it on to him, katymine
‘Copters over downtown SF this afternoon, CHP out in force on the roadways…. aaaahhhhhh, the unmistakeable signs of another righteous protest gearing up!
That’s sweltering weather, Katy!
TLM will edit it out and ygm
Mahalo, Hmmm! Are you gonna be part of the masses?
Dugg
Thanks, luv.
dugg
Dam it took two to tango …. Digg is sure messing up again..
Heh heh, I can neither confirm nor deny, my vog-afflicted friend!
thanks for the music digg, nahant
It just doesn’t like you, nahant!
Na… will have around 10 percent humidity….
Holy Moly!
71 predicted for the high up here Saturday.
Heat wave.
At least it won’t be raining for a change.
We have had some bizzare weather lately, out of the blue hail storms, snow, all kinds of Northwest weather, all at once!
digg don’t know what they are missing. nahant makes the best chili and a totally killer apple pie (drooling at the thought of it)
Whew, You ain’t a kidding the Trades shifted and we’ve been sucking some serious shirt today, prolly about 500 meters visibility…!
CTuttle I guess digg is just hiccuping again and Suz as usual you are entirely welcomed!
Is that a hint Suz??
They’re complaining about it Honolulu, which seems pretty weird. You can see it in webcams all over the state. (Well, maybe Hanalei was just misty.)
dayam, i thought it was bad with 54 and cloudy with a bitterly cold wind was bad. we are down to 44 and that blasted cold wind is still forking blowing
nope, just telling the digg folks what a great guy you are and what they are missing by forking with ya
Add some ice pellets.
But if you do come this way I can whip up something up yummy… who knows what but I do like to cook… that is after tweaking with computers…
Not with the sheer amount she’s kicking out these days, I can taste the sulphur in the air…
Da MASTAH of the TELECASTAH! Albert Collins was a BAD MAN>
“I ain’t drunk, I’m just drinkin’”
Elmore said it was snowing when he went for a drive out the gorge near Crown Point…. thought it was funny since it was 83 degrees here…. but 100 so early is weird….. usually it is May-June when he hit that…
hey that guy, thanks for noticing the video *cough cough*
how goes?
Well, looking at the Halemaumau webcam tonight, either she’s stopped glowing — unlikely — or else she’s pushing so much plume out to the north that the camera can’t see the glow. Kinda weird.
Which caused me to have an evil laugh, my folks tried to escape the cold and snow and were in Arizona for 3 months on vacation in their motorhome. THE DAY THEY GOT BACK it snowed.
BWAAAHAHAHAHAAA.
Now it’s going to be 100 degrees?
Oh, My Pops is going to have a fit!
Lol
They had a ‘Vog’ Day for Mountain View Elementary School today!
Scott Horton has a great post on our even handed justice department.. “A Tale of Three Lawyers”
what is vog?
Sorry honey, Kills my little ‘puter. 8(
Smog! Only produced by Madame Pele, hence Vog!
Suz the tune was great kept me rocking all the way though, as always you pick some of the best music for all us late nighters!!
Ach, sorry!; Volcano smog.
Finally spell-checked my own message…
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vog
wow, i never knew volcano’s create their own version of smog. how cool, my new fact for the day.
thanks :)
Heh, She’s kicked it up a notch or two…! ;-)
Hey, I live (as you know) to serve. :-)
Not cool when you’re breathing it, Suz! ;-)
ok, busted i understand about your little computer and nahant, i’m glad you liked it.
Busted, your niece is safe and sound I presume?
hey hmmm
sorry, cool fact, not cool smog, ct
Time for a little holiday in North Kohala, brah.
busted onery bastard knuckles
Remember when Mt St Helen’s blew up ….. didn’t know it had a name besides the ash ruined my windshield, glasses and gave me headaches when the Mt erupted…
2,000 tons? Where does it all go?
i had heard about the ash and sulfer etc during a big erruption (like mt st helens) but didn’t realize that a daily spewer like kilauea would produce a smog. just thought the lava oozed out
SoCal and Arizona…… if it doesn’t drop in the ocean…
The trades are blowing out of the Southeast, nowhere on the Isle is good, fortunately, the U’a has arrived and will be falling for the next couple of days, it’ll give us a nice respite from it…!
into the lungs of anyone breathing it… could go where ever the wind blows it
We can get vog up here in Alaska too. I’ve had to put two layersof pantyhose over my cars’ aircleaners several times over the years.
AYE!
They create their own lightning storms too.
I watched Mt. St. Helens go off quite a few times from within a hundred miles of the crater. It is impossible to describe!
The sky went black from the amount of ash coming out that
you could make enough cement to make 3 New York cities out of in about 2 hours. Then it went purple around the mountain and then Tesla would have run for his life!
Power beyond description.
from alaskan volcanos or from hawaii?
No word. 8(
the down side to thinking about moving up there…
Jeez!
Folks musta thought they were under attack!
no news is good news busted
bad news travels fast
I was in Longview in case that rings a bell.
There’s an amazing account of the 1924 Halemaumau (subcrater within Kilauea’s caldera, and the site of the current/newest venting) explosion here, complete with lightning, mud raining from the sky, and huge rocks falling on fleeing people.
Most of it blows out to sea, when the trades are favorable, there’s no ash involved like Mt. St. Helens… Typically you could walk up to the lip of Halemaumau with only an aftertaste left in your mouth, but, now you can’t make the journey without walking through a fog of the vog… Heh, I like that phrase…
That’s a good description. I had some friends who lived near the mountain when it went. They all moved to Alaska.
so not the camas/washougal area? (exhaling)
Not quite under attack. Volcanic eruptions do make for interesting sunsets and sunrises.
WOW that’s some great music.
Thanks!
Dear Heavens. Imagine!
Just returned from living Greece and moved to Portland when Mt St Helen’s blew up in 1980…. there was no summer that year….. cold, rainy….. garden rotted… we were looking for land up near there before it started getting active… thought I would never see the sunshine that year…
Suzanne, thanks for Further On Down The Road
Too bad the toobz are so mucked up (for me anyway) that I can’t listen to it without hiccups.
If I use IE, FDL is clunky.
IF I use Firefox, Digg is all jacked up.
I will never forget that as long as I live.
I worked on the dredges that cleaned out the Columbia river so sghips could get back to Portland and also on the Cowlitz river, where the bulk of the muck went. You cannot believe the things I saw happen. there ws a big log jam let go and the mudflow and cinder that went through downtown Kelso was so thick I could have literally walked across the river.
Pumice blocks as big as Volkswagons floating down the river.
Hopefully a once in a lifetime experience.
hey margot, how ya feeling?
neuro, dayam, have ya tried the safari browser? newton has been trying to get me to switch to it.
Fog of the Vog. Maybe Suz could find a blues rendition of that.
Are you thinking of moving there?
Sorry, got to blabbin’ there.
If anyone could, it’d be Suz…! ;-)
I was using Safari earlier on Julies PC and it worked quite well, at least so I will be testing further later and see it handles downloads and such… I do like the looks also. You can DOWNLOAD it from Apple
It was once in a lifetime event….. amazing like the big flood in 1996…that was another event…. when the Willamette Falls disappeared..
yeap, when and if this blasted place ever sells, the plan has always been to move to to the pacific northwest. just a matter of where
Suzanne,
I mentioned at one of TSF’s weekend threads that Ms ET and I wiil be in central California the last weekend in May to watch ETette – yep, that’s her – in the NCAA Division II womens crew championships. Her team is expected to win. We’re hoping to meet up over the end of the weekend-Monday with as many firedoglake pups as possible.
I was here for that too.
wasn’t babblin busted
i gotta know this stuff when it comes to making up my mind where to plant temporarily up there. i figure after i get up there, i can then narrow it down to where i wanna stay so will be looking for a rental.
Feeling great, thanks.
How are you all doing?
Hawksley Workman performing Smoke Baby durring Blues Fest ‘07
may 31st is the wedding (saturday) are you talking the monday before or the monday after that day, et.
I just saw a Keizer clinic right down the road from my folks in Vancouver the last time I was there, must have driven by it a hundred times without seeing it.
Forgot to tell ya that.
ET, your Julia is a beauty. Such a wonderful smile. You must be bursting with pride!
You should be very proud Papa. :)
from the ap wire:
Former state lawmaker Jackie Speier has won the San Francisco Bay area congressional seat opened after fellow Democrat Tom Lantos died earlier this year.
Is Safari free?
thanks busted, i heard they had one in vancouver.
I’m thinking after. We’re going to try to rent a motorhome in Sacramento and then use it to drive, eat, stay our way around the Bay and up the coast on our way to her graduation, two weeks later.
We want to visit small cheese making places, organic farms and wineries along the way.
If I was to move back to Oregon it would be around Florence…. mid Oregon coast where my parents live….
My daughter is Joselyn (Jossie), and her best friend since second grade is Julia. They call each other Hulia and Hossie.
It is.
And it’s great.
maybe we could do the monday after here at the little cottage by the creek in the redwoods. we got an organic grocery store a short walk away in town that features local items and there are lots of local wineries.
My daughter, named Julia, was nicknamed “Julio” by the girls in her secret pirate club.
gotta stay in a kaiser coverage area – dayam health care insurance dictating where i can and can not move
Heh, Cheese and Vino go hand in hand…! ;-)
Great she is a good Dem!!
Sweet! Ms ET has an old friend wo we’ve all but lost touch with, who lives between you and Santa Cruz.
Hey Busted…. are you taking about Kaiser Permeate?
There used to be a big facility out by Mall 205 in SE Portland…
They have a Kaiser center here on the Big Isle…! ;-)
Thanks for the new Horton link. Scott is amazing. I spent time last night re-reading his torture/doj articles and Marcy’s posts. They flat lay it out. Clear, riveting… and evil.
i’ll email ya my info et
Where can I go to download it?
Check my linky at @82 and yes it is free
Yeah. And the motorhome idea makes sense, in case we like the wine and cheese at one of the wineries way too much, we just pour ourselves into the dang thing until morning.
…and there’s a University and everything, and maybe The Sweetie and me will move there too… c’mon, Suz! It’ll be a party!
i asked and you said how everything was 25% more in HA than here.. i’m looking for a place that is cheaper to live.. but HA is nice.. if i could be on the side of the isle that gets rain every day….
At least until we get universal health for all…
Kool. I love California. I would have moved there to stay in the late 60s, if about 20 million less people lived there.
sorry, i just saw this, yes it is free and it is an apple browser that works on pc’s according to newton
Here.
But you’re forgetting you don’t need any walls in HI. Much cheaper that way.
Suzanne here is the map of the facilities in the Portland area…
NW Map
gotta figure out the date first, hmmn and see if it conflicts with the wedding
thanks katymine
That has changed so much around that area I don’t hardly recognize it anymore!
Of course, I remember when none of it was there to begin with!
The big Keizer I know of is South of there at Sunnyside Road, across the freeway from Clackamas Town center.
I always stop by Scot’s post every day if I am on the computer I think he would make a great AG as he is a staunch defender of the law used impartially and not for any political bullshit. Has has my vote! That is if I could vote for AG that is…
That’s blasphemy, running Apple on PC… It’s just not right…! ;-)
If ya need a cook let me know.. I should be free and Tucker would love to see Token again.
Yep that is the one….. considering I moved away 10 years ago ….
putting on tin foil
its a plot to get us all to dump our pcs and buy mac
gotta figure out the dates first and see if it conflicts with the wedding
*rubs hands together*
Blue tarp works…! ;-)
ya forgot the gleefully
Nite all…..see you all later….
g’nite nana katymine and congratulations
thanks nahant, I’ve bookmarked it, will mess with it when I have time.
Crazy around that area now, you wouldn’t recognize it, I didnt and I still live up here!
Heh, more suckers err… customers for ya, eh newt?
Glee comes when XP & Vista are abolished.
This is early in the game.
Aloha, Nana Katy!
Sorry no way you could get me on one of those stolen GUI that Jobs got from Xerox… Bastard… even after all these years it pisses me off when I saw the Lisa at one of my accounts… had to go to one of the Xerox Vp’s and chew him out for letting Jobs walk away with Xerox’s patent… yes they had patented it before Apple, Hp and Microsoft
Well, I’m not saying there isn’t anything in it for us lowly Mac consultants.
Theres always my place …it falls just after my B-day and I am always looking for a reason to have a good time :>)
Goodnite Katymine, stay cool in the heat.
Gnite everyone else, it’s past my bedtime.
Night Busted will check out5 your place before I hit the hay. I always like the way you put things!
nahant, i’m still trying to figure out if i can attend before we get to planning on a where
Heh, the bad apple doesn’t fall to far from the tree…! ;-)
Aloha, Busted!
g’nite busted onery bastard knuckles
late to thread – katymine, congrats! And ES, thanks for the great music for a great night.
So it’s all about the wedding, then, is that what you’re saying Suzanne?
can’t fuckin sleep!
i want a new left leg, new hip, and at least a few disks or vertebrae worth of new spine!
Apple is still only 5 to 6 % of the market, thats another reason I have/will not deal with apple… I have a larger costomer base and I dop servers… Apples servers are not up to par and don’t have the market share to justify spending the $$ for stolen technolgy!
Just saying…
Hey, Doc! So the Torch is in town now, eh?
as mother of the bride, you betcha!
OK Kirk how did the rally go??
He’s a hero of mine too.
And MS’s GUI is less stolen than Apple’s in exactly what way again…? ;-)
ouch. wish i could click my ruby slippers or blink my head and make ya all better tex
how do you blink a head??
Everyone involved has my congratulations. And my sympathies!
My wife wants a new left knee if that’s any consolation, Ma’am! *g*
hey dr murphy
My son sees him at the restaurant works at in Palo Alto… says Jobs is cheap…
*standing between Mac & PC partisans with arms outstretched*
Guys!
like samantha or jeanie would do with that blick and the head bob thingie
brave man standing in the line of fire between pc and mac types
Evening, Doc.
It’s Suzanne’s night…
we have one of each. you standing in the wall between this room and texteen’s room?
cough cough
Heh, but he’s a mac partisan…!
OMG, the vog’s hit Santa Cruz!
Woops, I was talking about Scott Horton. I’ll always defer to newtonusr on the computer issues. *g*
Newton != Mac
in santa cruz?, betcha its not vog…
I can’t argue that point but Apple was the first to do the stealing… I know that one… go look at the filing when Apple tried to sue both Microsoft and HP…. Xerox counter sued them all…. Judge was a duff didn’t know how to adjudicate intellectual property rights…. But Xerox did screw the pooch as they charged way too much and the Toner heads couldn’t understand what a computer was. they wanted the big bucks because of the name… How freeking dumb of them… Joe Wilson is still rolling in his grave over that one.
*thunk* I wonder how that happened…? 8-)
At least we aren’t throwing stones at each other…. *G*
OK, I’ll bite: What did Mr. Plame have to do with Xerox?
just bytes
or beating each other senseless just to make a youtube video
Macs only, LooHoo.
I don’t know jack about PC’s.
*nahant – you don’t think for a second that you’re going to be able to bait me into this, do you?*
:-)
Joseph C. Wilson (Xerox), different Joe Wilson!
Oh boy!!
Any guesses about what Bush’s decision will be?!
kinda guessed that
Well now em>there’s a coinkydink for ya.
double surge non-escalation?
Ummm… Stay the course…?
Wrong Joe Wilson Xerox Joe founded Xerox… I had forgot about THE current Joe Wilson besides he is still alive,,, or did miss something… hopefully he shouldn’t be rolling in his grave… he way too young to be doing that!
Hey CTuttle, I forgot to thank you for my new (and very important) new facebook friend.
Hi Newton – it is Suzanne’s night.
How totally embarassing. Din’t know I could blush in a freezing house.
My bad, suz.

not a problem at all kirk. i’m just glad to see ya here (and not in jail)
Petro thanked me too…! You’re welcome!
it was even on my monterey bay tv station during the 6pm broadcast with live shots of a forking HUGE crowd. was dayam proud to be a dfh :)
Hugs Betsy,
I saw that video on MSNBC tonight.
Please God let there not be copycats out there doing the same thing.
not really but I lived the Revenge of the Nerds… so I have my opinions set as I watched things change… None of the other players started with a networked computer. Xerox introduced the computer with networking built in including servers/laser printers on the network… of course the internet did not exist yet in the early 80s. Xerox did have an intranet connected internally world wide…
Abrams showed it, and I’m with ya on that Margot!
How are you Margot?
Well, there was the Corvus Concept, but yeah that was pretty much a rip of the Xerox machines.
As much as I dog my PC-using friends, I wouldn’t have them switch over for anything, revenge or no.
And I have endless admiration for Bob Metcalf.
Imagine having your name on Ethernet…
CT and Nahant, the torch is in town and the rally was amazing. I’ve come to know folks from Tibet at Ruckus’ camps, ut never experienced their culture so powerfully.
Desmond Tutu was there to speak to us – he reportedly arranged his schedule to be in SF for the Torch.
Behind heavy security, Gavin dined with China’s ambassador in the Asian Art Museum gala. While Desmond Tutu joined us in the cold.
Desmond Tutu came and laughed with us in SF – where the UN was born, nearly sixty years ago. In SF’s UN plaza Archbishop Tutu thanked us for doing the work that freed South Africa – and will free Tibet, and in the process the Chinese people.
I’ll post more soon, but tonight I saw Tibet and her people will be free.
Amazing days. Amazing night.
A little Eric Burdon/war just right for all you DFH’s
Could we just not talk about xeroxing during non-work hours? (jk*)
I’m fine, thanks. I hope you’ll be able to get some rest tonight. I’ll drop you a line tomorrow on f/b.
Whoo HOO!!
ROFL… oh loohoo i’m sorry, i should not laugh
I set up his network when he was starting 3Com in Mountain View… got to meet and talk to him… one of my Xerox buddies was working directly for him a few years later… said he was hard to work with..
I love it! The Asian Art Museum is right there, next to UN Plaza and the City Hall Concourse where the crowd gathered! “Other than that, how was dinner, Mr. Ambassador?”
sounds great.
*standing on chair clapping*
rotrow wrong usage of a proper name….xeroxing.. think aspirin :>)
spelling and grammer police are not down here in the comments dood. we sic them only on front pagers.
If it helps, I worked at Pixar for a while and (brace yourself for this surprise:) Steve was not exactly all sweetness and light to be around either.
Saw that on TV and I sure do hope that such a fine and noble people should be free… I can’t wait to see what happens tomorrow… I just hope that the EXTRAS that China don’t get violent as the did in Tibet and then accused the Tibetan people of causing it Ya Right we know better they are a non violent society and have been so for a very long time…. FREE TIBET!
Well, it was all good until this part:
this goes in the news ticker next (it mentions tutu)
Alright, Doc! Desmond Tutu is an awesome individual!
can’t help myself heard that many times from the Xeroids at work
Bob & Steve are part of a rare breed of innovative folks and I don’t know why creative types are any less likely to be assholes than us “ordinary” folk.
Let’s see – this guy probably has tremendous people-skills.
*third time this month… I just can’t resist*
this aint work :)
You do make it look effortless.
Well, time for me to take the towels out of the dryer! I shall bid Ya’ll a fond adieu! Aloha Oe!!!
aloha ct
Ya sure thats not the fine Doctor from Vermont? I really don’t have much use for the mickeysoft boys.. they screwed the guys who wrote CPM… the first real Os for the 8080 chip…. Xerox used MESA using four four bit proccesor in a quad configuration… talk about multi processor OS..
night CT
(blushing) thank you
Take special care of your fine lady CT and sleep well///
‘Night, CT! Best wishes for sweet dreams, speedy healing of your wife’s knee, and no vog, my friend.
nite tuttle
carry the lady of the house everywhere for a while
Thank you for hosting!
Pain is mitigated by:
1) having friends who are online at all hours
2) NOT having vog in my city
3) i can take the computer to bed
4) i am not a repiglican
Eric Burdon and the Animals The house of the rising Sun

No joke. We just got a new top of the line xerox copy machine that nobody can figure out. When we want to do something 2 sided to 2 sided, the first side comes out fine and the second side comes out the opposite way. (1/4 of the page is cut off and it’s upside down.) We get *inserviced* tomorrow.
VERY COOL music video suzi…Taj did a version of this and I’ve always liked it…
I see the pups are restless tonight but it’s no wonder! With all the personal planets in fiery Aries…folks really do want to be furthur on down the road, in fact as far down as they can get. Physcal is good, some hiking would be good with all this energy

Hmmm, I had no idea – what a frakking hoot!
And on another note (28 min past hour PDT) on the BBC’s “World Today”, Richard Gere just tore up Godwin’s Law.
He explicitly related the Bush Reich to 1936 Germany (under Hitler).
Hee-hee…love it when a celeb going (way) off message to publicly state what DFH all know.
Auntie Beeb just got a scoop – wonder if they know?
What great f’n days.
Good night, pups – sleep well!
earphones work well when there is a sleeping one in the same room with you…. besides she can listen to what she wants to and we can still be together in the same room

It had never occurred to me to put a shrimp on a treadmill. Guess it’s a lack of imagination on my part.
nite doctor
g’nite kirk…
That’s right! No wonder I couldn’t find it. See nahant?!
night good doctor… make sure to keep us informed of the goings on in the city tomorrow
blowing smoke off fingers (no problem)
Man thats great humming boy you are good *g*
I don’t know.
Lack of imagination wrt what you will inflict a treadmill upon may be a blessing.
This one kills me ’cause it looks just like my cat did (with short hair).
A slight change in pace
oops…
Your cat looks like a shrimp, newt?
talk about heartless poor kitty
she no longer cared about the ball that enticed her once she got on. how cute, newton
And these 2 idiots didn’t even need the ball!
Suz heres one that reminds of your glare off stun lady
Funny. I guess I just don’t understand the whole treadmill concept. If someone wants to walk or run, why not just do it?
they are Siamese’s
being able to do at home where no one sees ya sweat, or how your sweats make the butt look fat or ya wanna lose weight before others see ya working out or that ya prefers jogging nekkid – there are a variety of reasons.
we are siamese
tis a look that most do not wanna see (laughing) i was unfamilar with that heart song, thanks
Yeah.
And now I’m in deep shit with TRex.
why for newton?
Over and out, guys.
g’nite loohoo
I referred to the 2 Siamese cats as idiots for doing the treadmill thing without enticement.
I have it coming.

I think I’ll head over there and head off the inevitable.
nite suzanne
Suz, Didn’t know you’d gotten a live one. All my available appendages are crossed for ya. Sweet dreams.
The only surge success they can cite is a reduction in U.S. casualties. Well, damn! In spite of what Petraeus says, withdrawing would clearly seal the deal on that success.

blame Elliot for this :D
