As Mainland (formerly "Red" in ‘the good ol’ days) China crushes dissent and violates human rights, some politicians — most recently Nancy Pelosi — have called on Bush to not attend the Olympic Ceremonies there this Summer so as to show at least some dissatisfaction.

To which Bush replies, "What, not talk to leaders of other countries? That’s preposteratin‘".

The real reason Bush will not do this is two-fold. First, when has BushCo let a little thing like crushing dissent and violating human rights be a problem, if not a solution?

And second, Bush has to go because he has to make the main financier of his "glorious occupation of Iraq" happy. Since Bush refuses to increase taxes, the $12 billion a month Iraq occupation is financed by borrowing. As we now have no money to borrow in this country, we go looking for countries that do. As Nobel Prize Winning Economist Joseph "The $3 Trillion War" Stiglitz, states:

Because "the saving rate [in America] is zero," says Stiglitz, "that means that you have to finance [the war] by borrowing abroad. So China is financing America’s war." The US is now operating at such a deficit, in fact, that it doesn’t have the money to bail out its own banks.

But hey, at least we have Iran nearby in Iraq to handle whatever political crisis occurs and take care of "our" interests.

Bush has no choice, he has made us China’s supplicant. Just 36 years ago, "Only Nixon could go to China" was the saying. Now, "only Bush" would have to go there to keep his creditors happy.

Heckuva Job.
