So pick a candidate that you can support in your area and help get them elected. Their voice — and yours — could make all the difference. Let’s get to work…

Well, I’m not EW, but I’m doing the best I can.

That’s it. My ears were burning and I had to come back from vacation to see what was up.

Highly unlikely? And how might we increase the odds to “likely” pending convincing Littleprop that it would be an interesting thing to hang out in DC with mom until college?

Well.. Faux’s certainly outdoing themselves with their election headlines these days:
Today -”McCain Paints Portrait of Patriot”

With bylines like that can “McCain sanctioned by God (and Reagan)” be far behind?

1,795 DAYZ AND THE KILLIN’ GOEZ ON AND ON AND…

Citizen Soli and the Firepup Freedom Fighters:

“I hate this fuckin’ war.”

There is only one issue in this election cycle and that’s “THE WAR”…it encompasses everythin else that is wrong with this country and represents the final battle with the forces of corporate fascism that threaten the very existence of civilization on this planet. All other issues includin’ rule of law, representative democracy, global warming and religiouis wars of corporate colonialism are wrapped up in this great battle. All arguments lead back to “THE WAR”…and the fascists are not gunna jest slink off into the boardrooms of the major corporations this time, they’re goin’ down with all guns blazin’ and they won’t stop for somethin’ as mundane as a free election. So…

KEEP THE FAITH AND REMEMBER THERE IS NO COMPROMISIN’ WITH FASCISM!!

Every little bit counts. I have a couple of die hard right wing nuts in my family. Not much of dent in terms of most issues. But I stay engaged and keep a dialog going, being polite and not getting mad at them.

So, another one of them has switched on voting -she has become ferocious on voting integrity that could be taken straight from Democratic CA Secty of State. One of my right wingnut uncles has been a convert to forces of good in terms of voting for at couple of years, and maybe hearing it from both of us has switched her. Good thing that not one wingnut in my family has ever bought into the racial bigotry stuff, so they can allow themselves to take a reasonable position on voter ID that is not racist or simply a cover for voter suppression -still to retrictive for my taste but at least they have adopted reasonable positions.

But now I have two right wingnut relatives who sound like the Democratic Secty of State when talking about voting integrity -we can agree that any measure has to be consistent with big turnout from all segments of society, electronic voting is OUT unless verifiable paper trail, must be a verifiable paper trail for any voting system, and there should be a public count of paper ballots with complete record. And it is a big up front central issue with them, not some side deal.

So, the three of us have exactly one political issue we can agree on now.
