(Welcome Air America listeners. If you’d like to cosign the complaint about John McCain to the FEC, you can do so here — jh)
Why is nobody on the barbecue circuit busting McCain on his boners? Somerby pulls back the curtain:
CATCH A RISING STAR: If mordant laughter is what you enjoy, we hope you watched last evening’s Hardball.
It’s always amusing when Big Major Scribes pretend to discuss the press corps’ own conduct. Last night, Chris Matthews triggered such a “discussion.” Two top pundits had been called to help settle a question—a question which is quite important:
MATTHEWS (3/26/08): John McCain had the press in his pocket, some said, with his “Straight Talking Express” eight years ago, but does he have a different straight talk with the press today than he has with the average voter? [sic]
Jennifer Donahue is with the New Hampshire Institute of Politics. And the New Yorker’s Ryan Lizza, a rising star in our business, he recently profiled McCain.
I got to go to you, Ryan. Is he still getting good press?
Visibly, Lizza flirted with climax during that “rising star” business. But Matthews had asked a very important question: Does the press corps fawn to McCain? In response, a rising star started off in this manner:
LIZZA (continuing directly): I think, for the most part, yes, he is. He has had a couple of bumps. I mean, the dynamic is that everyone is paying attention to Hillary and Barack, and ignoring McCain. So, when McCain does something like go to Iraq and misstate—you know, confuses the Sunnis and the Shiites—it sort of makes the news. It is buried inside. You know, we talk about it a little bit. But it doesn’t get the amount of play it would if we were in the general election race, where you have that head-to-head dynamic.
Don’t worry: They’ll murder McCain in the fall! “I mean, for stuff to really take off, you have to have the opponent mentioning it and really, and really highlighting it,” Lizza continued. “And because we don’t have a real head-to-head general election yet, he is basically doing—”
At that point, mercifully, Matthews broke in. Lizza was making a common claim: If the Dems aren’t trashing McCain for his howlers, well really, our hands are tied.
You thought it was the war hero thing, right? Maybe the "maverick?" No, it’s because they’re only capable of transcribing an observation if someoene else makes it.
The shameless, open acknowledgment of that is rather gobsmacking.

where is everybody?
I like Godsmack
Beware the Straight Talking Express!
I have raised my 3 kids with the saying that when someone tells you they Know what they are talking about, trust them, to run away. Run fast.
That’s what I told them.
I used it in the context of religion, but I guess it speaks to all forms of Trust Me, including politics.
It’s the food.
Cocktail weenies
Bar-B-Q
The Dems just don’t know how to feed the press.
Seriously, ya’know McLame wouldn’t set up a press room in a lavetory.
Well, there might be something to the ownership of the majore media conglomerates as well…and to the gutting of Public Broadcasting…
McCain is getting Reagen like press protection must be the Senility.
So?
Lizza’s career has taken a thumping. Let’s see how long it is before Matthews has him on again…
I ran into one of the smartest people I have ever met again last week at the airport.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dan_Geer
The first time we met was at a luncheon, where he spent most of the time LISTENING to other folks answeres to a few intelligent questions.
I was mighty impressed.
I am so sorry.
Ryan (Ci)Lizza?
Aargh, what utter BS!
If the Dems aren’t trashing McCain for his howlers, well really, our hands are tied.
The million dollar question is why aren’t we going after McInsane? Even keith spends most of his show bashing hillary, as if she is worse than McCain. If McCain gets elected and appoints one more person to SCOTUS this country will be turned back 200 years.
Sorry – that last comment about a smart person was especially off-topic in this thread about idiots
Yeah, I forgot about that! LOL LOL LOL
I loved it when Hillary did that. Hell, they would trash her even harder if she kissed their asses like most Dems– she might as well humiliate them every chance she gets.
Go Hillary!!!!!!
Maybe only 150 years
Ryan Lizza is not the same person as Chris Silly Lizard. But he is just as fucking stoopid.
S’okay, Sugar.
I get optimistic when I think about Congress
I get optimistic when I think about McCain actually appearing himself on TV, on debates for instance. I get depressed when I read things about the hurdle we face in corporate media bias, as in this post.
But the corporate media has shown it will respond to public pressure. What are the plans for putting massive public pressure on corporate press over its dishonest coverage of McCain?
I mean look at what the guy is saying. I gave some examples in the last post. A little truth about McCain will go a long long way towards sinking him for good in the general election. All we got to do is pressure the media enough so that they will slip up and let the critical mass of miserable truth about the old fraud through the filters.
The way McCain’s platform is developing, he is a very heavy load to lift, even for the corporate media. They will have a difficult job, and our job should be to make it so difficult that they will slip up and actually show enough of the guy to turn off the voters with his toxic nonsense.
“if the Dems aren’t trashing McCain for his howlers, well really, our hands are tied.”
No Chris its your job to report what any reasonable person would think is a good story. Your failure to do so is why KO beats you in the ratings. The Newspaper business is losing subscribers, media stocks have sucked throughout the Bush years.
Shareholders Chris its all about the money not pushing GOP memes in an attempt at mindcontrol through repeating lies over and over again.
The mind control don’t work if the reality cannot be ignored.
Somerby has pointed out time and again how the big boys (russert, matthews and williams) on msnbc and nbc are owned by jack welch. The “liberal” voices who come on are trying mightily to get to stay on where they can so they don’t cause any waves. Rachel Maddow made a comment that slammed matthews on one of the primary nights, but she hurriedly backpedalled and now she has been taken on as an analyst for msnbc. The dems are not the party of choice for welch so anything slamming them can be said. mccain is not open for close inspection.
F Matthews.
McCain will keep accumulating these “boners” until he has a full skelton of them to unleash by the time of the debates. He better have “Joe Slobberman” drooling all over the potential candidate like a Vice-Presidential candidate looking for his bucket of spit…to prevent more gaffs.
BTW Some good news…Donna Edwards may be entering Congress early.
Wynn To Resign before term expires
Must be nice to have a job where the amateurs have to do your work for you.
So I guess we’ll just have to do their job, over and over and over again, hoping our journamalism skills rub off on the poor retarded dears.
True, dat! Stoopid pundits!
F McCain.
Really then why can’t Chris muster an once of compassion for the troops in Iraq?
Yeah, tbsa, I’m with you. Pressure on the media.
Promoting McCain will be difficult. The corporate media will not be able to cover for the guy without leaving hard evidence of bias. Look at what they had to do to cover up for his mistake/propagadna (whichever it was) on conflating Iran and Al Qaeda. The media covered it up, but left a smoking gun. If we have media e-mail and letter and phone campaigns, it will have some impact.
As I said above, McCain is a difficult case for them. We have to pressure the corporate media enough so that they slip up.
Bush sends Big Pussy(Negroponte) and Paulie Walnuts(Boucher) to Pakistan.
The locals aren’t impressed anymore though.
Bush wants to keep mowing down Pakistanis with predator drones and Sharif says Pakistan won’t be a ‘killing field’ for the US any longer.
From Mclatchey:
“Pakistani concerns about U.S. activity have been ignited over the last month by a series of apparent American missile attacks on targets in Pakistan. The news that the former commander of the Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, detention camp, where hundreds of Muslim prisoners, many of them Pakistanis, have been held without charge, has been appointed the chief U.S. defense representative in Pakistan isn’t likely to help relations.
-G
Did they set a date for the special election yet?
Fixed
Chris cares about the troops then lets see some stories about Walter Reed hospital and substandard helmets! Lets see what life is like for Vets after they get out?
Oh wait real reporters do that, Chris makes his money on his knees as a stenographer to power.
Great question! Tweety seems to be carrying the water for the Surge is working meme…!
What is difficult for them? Nothing. They support he Pukes…easy. The people support the Dems. The Pukes control the media. The Pukes control the voting machines.
He can’t wait to meet Petraeus.
Got’s to love that Aqua-Velva…!
McCain is dangerous
Also there is the fact that McCain has some of Bush’s disadvantages but lacks some key Bush strengths in terms of providing material hacks and press use to manipulate the public. Main two things I have noticed:
When challenged,
McCain pompous, stupid or stubborn enough to tell bald, outrageous and obvious and easily disproven lies on national TV,
he resorts to unattractive bullying and obstruction in public when contradicted for challenged to any extent at all.
Bush is better on both those two points. McCain has the public wigout potential of Giuliani, but Giuliani was not in the race enough for it come out. Like Bush, McCain is an aggressive, bully boy manipulator. But I think a hotter more hair trigger temper, less self control and thinner skinned, and incapable of much subtle misdirection.
KO is going to keep repeating the Wallmart steals from War Mom story until they give up! Now that is crusading journalism!
The major media are all Corporations. Remember that. By law a Corporation must hold their investors interests above all other concerns. That means the corporate media MUST support Republicans at all costs, because the media will always enjoy the lowest costs and least regulations with Republicans. Therefore, you cannot expect to get fair political coverage from Corporate Media…it’s against the law.
Investors could rightfully sue CNN, Fox, CBS, NBC for supporting Democrats, which my extension means supporting more regulations and higher taxes, dissatisfied advertisers, all of which translates to lower revenue and earnings. That’s bad for investors. Knowingly doing bad things for investors is illegal.
If you expect fair coverage by corporate media, it shows how ignorant you are of corporate law and big business. Get over it. Find some other source of news and information.
The Pukes control the voting machines.
California Secretary of state, Debra Bowen decertified most of those machines in California unless/until they can meet the legal standards set by Ca. Namely paper trails.
I hope you, or someone, will repeat that in every thread. He scares me to death.
Can’t ya just picture him with his finger on “the button”?
“Republican presidential candidate John McCain made a major misstatement today about the situation in Iraq that calls into serious question his understanding of conditions in that country, if not his mental faculties.”
Now, would that be so hard for them to report?
Oh, wait. They don’t “report”…
And yeah, I second cinnamonape! McCain is hard case for them. We have to deliver pressure until press slips up, or gives under pressure.
That is the single most frightening thing I can think of at the moment.
While at the logging conference, an economist talked about all the books about the coming Great Depression back in the 90s and how it didn’t take place. Afterwards, I told one of the other supporting spouses that it was due to a Democrat being elected President. She had a good laugh over that.
By the way, the loggers were appalled at the Axeman show on TV. Everyone of those TV yahoos would be fired in a heart beat by real loggers.
Heh:
http://tech.slashdot.org/tech/…..8204.shtml
But these stocks have been going nowhere all during the Bush years despite a war going on. This less rgulation is better for business meme is a myth.
If we had the “fairness doctrine ” back people would get both sides to a story…and then nobody would need the blogs!
S.O.S.
If we had the “fairness doctrine ” back people would get both sides to a story…
I don’t think that is gonig to be as helpful as getting rid of consolidation and forcing murdock sell some of his holdings.
Hey I didn’t think the economy would do good but Bill surprised me by paying down the debt. I thought he was all talk when he got elected.
Then explicky the good ratings Olbermann has.
Part of pshyops is to make the “enemy” think that anything is possible. Just Sayin’.
My guess is that Obama/Clinton coverage increases the ratings. The networks get detailed ratings measurements from Nielsen, etc. I wouldn’t be surprised if the networks have seen ratings dips during McCain stories.
Good point we have to do that to half measures won’t work or else Hannity and Colmes will be the new it show.
Are people that vote Democrat…weak?
Matthews, O’Reilly, et al, are not journalists, don’t fall into the newsreader category a la Couric, nor are they the TV equivalent of columnists. They’re entertainers. As such, most should have long ago gone the way of the two episode sitcom. The worst part is that since they work for big donors to the Rethugs they’re more than happy to push the right wing agenda as part of their entertainment package. Most, like Brit Hume, even believe the crap they puke up. Wingnut infomercials. Laurel and Hardy were entertainers. And much better at it.
McCain is boring and dull even with a teleprompter. He is going to be truly awful in debates.
And is anyone capable of listening to an entire speech McCain presents? I haven’t got the strength.
Maybe they’re just not telling the right McCain stories…
“My friends…”
You sure that is working. Ossama’s people already think everything is possible. They got the best army in the world stalled all because of Bush and company micromanaging the war.
I would not be surprised to find out that Al Quieda prays for Bush as well as Ossama every night.
STOP!
Have you listened to a McCain speech ratings drop is being nice, cure for insomnia yes!
Me neither I tried
Which OBL.?..not the one in the “official videos”….. That is not OBL….Yeah, OBL, Al-Qaeda, Bush….in bed together.. Yeah…jMHO.
boing boing *boing reverse one and a half somersaults with one and a half twists, in the free position*
no splash (’natch)
Maybe the McCan’t campaign will try to avoid debates and “major speeches,” and rely heavily on advertising to sell their image of St. John…
Nice one, Suz. Need a towel?
I truly look forward to general election debates. And no fair for McCain to stand on a pedestal this time.
Yeah!
Hey Suz!
yes please.. forking air is cold when wet
Hi Suzanne :)
Evening, Suz. I see you’re in a sunshiny mood!
Awesome..better you than me…I’m in awe of everyone that can dive…
I want to see SNL make fun of the press for fawning over McSame, all while he says and does stupid things.
Call me a dreamer.
Evenin’ Jane and Firedogs,
how y’all doin ?
okay then you fucking tools please tell us
just who in the hell observed Senator Clinton’s lingerie drawer ?
who observed $700 Breck Girl Haircuts ?
and who in bloody hell observed Michelle Obama’s comments on pride ?
yeah I thought so. I understand the necessity of the Fairness Doctrine, but it wouldn’t change 80% of these vapid clowns – they’ve ‘grown up’ in it, it’s their ethos.
nooo sorry, they will have to be shamed and then drummed out
*hands Suz a big, fluffy towel right from the dryer*
Especially those high dives. (Fear of heights)
I thought I heard him say (gag) Wal-Mart already got the money back. Did I hear wrong? But thanks to (gag) Wal-Mart’s greedy ways (remember them insuring employees without their knowledge so (gag) Wal-Mart could collect the insurance if the employee died?) they’re PR is screwed either way. If they drop the suit and leave this unfortunate woman alone the PR damage is already done. If they’ve collected the money from her and decide to give it back the PR will be that they were shamed into returning the dough. But if (gag) Wal-Mart takes it in the ol’ wahzoo I’m not gonna quibble over the method.
Hi Teddy!
I had a friend in HS, Martha, she could jump in the water, dive in the water..weird…never a wake of any sort….weird…just…plop…end of it.
McCain is to far behind in the polls and the money to refuse debates. The GOP has not been in this position in my lifetime. Normally you are right they refuse debates hold out for selected venues and questions known in advance.
We on the other hand need to push for open debates and the old League of Women voters moderation and rules for debates.
He used to be kinda funny. Remember when he hosted SNL and sang Streisand? Then the fundies pwnd him. Now he’s just a stiff. And a hypocrite.
McShame 4 More of the Same needs some truth telling about him. Is why I sent the Jane filing the fec complaint video to all my fundie relatives.
hey jane
Wallmart got the money yes. KO wants the war Mom to get the money I’m glad people care about this story:)
Hi cbl2, Suz, Southern Dragon, and everyone.
How can 75 of the population of voters be against the war, and the polls end up even…BS.
Oh my, they’ll be kissin’ snakes fer sure now.
Jane, I enjoyed your “McCain is worse than Bush” post.
I want to see a bumper sticker that says,
John McCain:
Worse than Bush
In fact, I would like to see a whole lot of those this fall.
Hi Margot
Kiss that Frog…
300 bucks a thousand. Great idea.
Did any respond back, M’dear? *g*
that’s a bumper sticker i would proudly put on my car
John McCain
He wants to send your kids to Iran
Didn’t you get the message from the MSM. Americans no longer care about the war. We’re all warm and fuzzy for McInsane.
one said she thinks Jane is beautiful and smart and it was ‘interesting’.
you’re evil Suz, just plain evil:)
McCain hosted SNL? No, I missed that one. Probably a good thing.
What war?
Did ya catch the sticker at C&L the other day that took W’s ‘04 sticker and flipped it to a ‘M’ with the ‘08… It was cool…!
I foolishly think the Obama Campaign has a real shot at calling them out – not completely by any stretch, but just like with the Big Donors, popular support and unprecedented interest will provide them some cover
and they’re gonna use the toobz like never before
hey Margot :D
the war was over 5 years ago. this is an occupation.
*innocent look*
yeap – hard to be animated in a bumper sticker tho
Yeah I am not buying this, especially when there was no event to cause this the Obama preacher story isn’t big enough to explain those numbers and Hilary’s misremember sniper story is being ignored because it reminds voters that Senate Armed Forces Committee McCain can’t tell the difference between a Shia or Sunni.
So what caused those numbers?
More grim news from Iraq.
Looks like the US is now taking the lead against Sadrists in Baghdad.
Reports from Basra indicate hundreds dead and wounded.
-G
your link goes to an article about Pakistan, greg.
What do you expect, they stood up, we stood down, they fell down, we stand back up.
good morning, y’all
Here’s the correct link.
-G
Hey Suzanne. What’s up?
*gah* I’m watching Gibson’s World News… Sadr was referred to as ‘anti-american’ cleric Moqtada…! WTF is that?
As the Iraqi Army stands down, we’ll stand up?
That’s not how it’s supposed to go…
or the more proper plural…
Good morning, all y’all….
I’d love the know the science behind those polls. They must be completely full of shit. The number of people at the primary alone makes me very suspicious of these polls.
trying to keep the bride to be calm. it hit her today that the wedding is in two months – and in a few days will be ‘next month’.
This is so crazy. Sadr was the only one keeping the peace in that area and now we are killing his people.
We get dumber by the day.
thanks greg.. i’ll add it to the news que
Whatever they want it to say. I don’t believe anything they say. Anything.
Hi All,
Suz, I need a dress update…
There. Fixed. Now I can sleep in peace! G’night, folks.
“Iraqi army and police units appeared to be largely holding to the outskirts of the area as American troops took the lead in the fighting.”
Maliki decided to launch the offensive without consulting his U.S. allies,
http://www.washingtonpost.com/…..id=topnews
No way he did this without Bush’s approval we are getting involved now because Bush can’t afford for his puppet to lose.
she has me scheduled for april 13th to start the great mother of the bride dress hunt. i hope we bag it the first day like we did the wedding dress and the bridesmaid dresses.
approval ? he did it on their orders !
“As President Bush told an Ohio audience that Iraq was returning to “normalcy,” administration officials in Washington held meetings to assess what appeared to be a rapidly deteriorating security situation in many parts of the country.”
ding!
Sure, lets make sure we tie Iran into the equation… If the Wapoo says it’s so it must be…! F*ckers are bound and determined to carry Darth’s water…!
Someone on the teevee asked a great question, I thought anyway,….
How could a government put the troops in a situation, on the ground, where there might be poisonous gases or WMD…in the first place….??? Why wouldn’t they have done an air attack??? Why risk the, “on the ground” troops in the first place????
That has always been a question that bothers me…
wa poo iraq article published in the news box.. thanks greg b and things
Oh, me too! Good luck — maybe with a bathing costume underneath?
Yes, things have most definitely come undone in Iraq.
she said no tie dye and has arranged for my hair and make up to be done the day of the wedding – is trying to class me up from dfh to matron is my guess
The polls themselves are becoming events manufactured events and right now the polls story is the only good story McCain has.
“”If there were no Americans, there would be no fighting,” said Abu Mustafa al-Thahabi, 38, a senior Mahdi Army member.”
What do you have to say to that, Senator Mc”The Surge is Working!”?
back to the post – ‘the Nam is one leg of the tripod per the author’s of Satuday’s Book Salon
I can not wait !
I apologize, but a mood’s a mood, and I’m in the mood…..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLjNjSpZxzg
Whoa!! Big boomers and lightning here – cool.
Ding.
What do you have to say to that, Senator Mc”The Surge is Working!”?
He says it is working and he doesn’t give a flying fuck what anyone thinks.
Shhh! The President who praised the attack now needs plausible deniabilty if the attacks fails.
my fav cover of that tune
Is she going to make you wear heels?
You’re referring to when our troops entered Baghdad? They were given chemical suits to wear (who knows how much good they would have been.) During the Winter Soldier conference a couple weeks ago, one of the guys said they were told to take the chemical suits OFF just before they got there. It appears to me they knew all along there were no chemical weapons at all.
man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do to make sure he is not tossed under the bus or held accountable in any way, yanno
*whine* and proper foundation garments too
The surge has worked so well in reducing violence that it has allowed the Iraqi government to instigate some some more violence……
It’s a madhouse…..a madhouse…….
-G
Man or 3 year old?
Man, he finally told the truth!
depends on if one is looking at the birth certificate or the behavior is my guess (and who is doing the looking)
You have my sympathy. Foundation garments? *shudder*
The things we do for family…
OMG — foundation garments … resist, sister.
He-said/she-said journalism. No quote, no story.
Yesterday there was a story in the LA Times about the Supreme Court ruling that the president has no authority to enforce a Senate-ratified treaty unless Congress makes the specific provisions of that treaty into federal law. The writers quoted everybody in sight, but never mentioned Article VI of the U.S. Constitution:
Per the Constitution, treaties are supreme law of the land, just like the laws passed by Congress.
That is the quote that will sink Bush because he said it today. That is why our Army is helping the Iraqi’s sitback again after they failed to standup.
Yeah, they Knew there were new WMD’s….instead they terrorized the troops…and it worked until the troops figured there were no WMD’s. They did what they always do…set us up. They terrified us, and they terrified the troops…on a pack of frikkin’ lies!!!! Helloooooo.
Impeach.
of course it’s going to fail
the so called Iraqi Security Force has done nothing as a force and their first gig out of the box is a major offensive against Shia that immediately blows up to multiple fronts ? led by a guy who never leaves the Green Zone ? oh yeah, that’ll work – can only imagine the threatdown from Cheney on this and it’s immediate launch – he must have removed the latex mask
Ah, but you forget the highest law of the land:
Thou shall not interfere with a state’s right to execute a ferener.
Me too. And doing shock and awe not knowing where the supposed biological/chemical weapons were. With our troops on the ground. None of it made any sense.
Read somewhere today that some members of the Iraqi “army” were stripping off their uniforms and joining the Sadr side. Nice, huh!
Are Sadrists shirts or skins?
-G
st john the torturer mcsame doesn’t know either
and has arranged for my hair and make up to be done the day of the wedding – is trying to class me up from dfh to matron is my guess…
don’t ya just hate it when that happens?
Gets on my last nerve, every single time……
Nekkid as jaybirds, but they surely can fight! :)
How often do they try to turn you into a matron jayt?
Here’s a BBC snippet of it… Notice the captured Hummer about a minute into it…
http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=ef1_1206658508
i think it is when his ankles swell and he starts craving pickles
707, Suz. That’s really funny.
How often do they try to turn you into a matron jayt?
well – given the lack of hair here, and over-abundance of hair there – not so much anymore….
Per Al-Jazeera.net:
and he starts craving pickles….
I beg your pardon, I have never craved “Pickles”.
That’s a very good report and honest. Now that we have armed everyone on both sides, let the games begin. Idiots.
McCain is so gung ho on the war in Irak, and Iran. Let’s make sure his daughter goes there to make one of her promotional video. No barbecue this time, and drunken reporters either…
Bonsoir tout le monde!
Why yes, we’ve maximized lethality on both sides. They’ll be excellent games.
sorry – didn’t realize you didn’t swing that way *sheepish look on face* no offense meant
Meanwhile, back at the ranch…
http://www.reuters.com/article…..9420080327
Not even Republican Pickles?
in the que, thanks ct
there are reports in the Arabic language press that he was choppered out of his Basra house to safety – he dissed local tribaleaders and municipal officials and was planning to sack both Military and Police Chiefs – all he had was his ‘Security Force’
Suzanne, what’s a que?
sorry, the news que.. where the news articles are housed after creation for a short while until they post in the news box on the front page
Left with his tail between his legs…!
sorry – didn’t realize you didn’t swing that way *sheepish look on face* no offense meant
oh fer heaven’s sake – I was tryin’ to make a Laura Bush joke – evidentally that one went over like a turd in the punch bowl
gimme a few… – I’ll be fine with a bit of coffee…….
You mean being in line then. That would be a queue, “attendre dans une queue means waiting in line.
(whew)
coffee always helps. i sometimes feel badly for those in contact with me before i’ve had enough to be civil. sometimes.
rut roh – is there a negative context associated with the word que? *eying coffee pot – perhaps i need more*
ok – so “I was Wrong”..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyCERZBxv5Y
Maliki should hire Baghdad Bob.
-G
Hey, I’ll shut up now, que is also good…
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queue
Isn’t it queue?
-G
For Suz and jayt
Java Jive
Couldn’t find the Mills Brothers, so this’ll have to do!
sometimes.
And do not, under any circumstances, ever admit any more than that.
As a matter of fact…
Que?! ;-)
dayam, bet i get a bill now.. lawyers find those billable hours everywhere (ducking)
thanks ll *waving*
More success!
-G
Belay that..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Que
doesn’t apply for queue.
I’m sorry, I can be picky about french, it is my language after all.
Damn that’d be poetic. It appears that Cheney told him to get his ass down to Basra and secure the petroleum terminal and get those damn malitia under control — Lord Cheney has spoken. Dutifully, he did so, pissing off both al-Sadr and those who wanted to off al-Sadr. So now the surge moves to success in a new dimension. It’s never defeat if you’re a Republican.
*waving to Suz* :-)
it just looks so wrong and que looks so right (and has fewer letters to type)
sigh. yes dear, the post in the news queue will be posted to the news box momentarily
she is a turd in the punchbowl, isn’t she…?
And , Suzanne, there is no negative context associated with que, like I said, I moan too much at times.
But I have to say that McCain is a sociopathic inhuman bouffon.
this we agree on :) he must not win the general.
So how is that said in French? *g* No parler, here…
*sigh* somehow it got lost in translation…
The surge has NOT failed. It has succeeded in other ways.
Check this (thanks bmaz):
Slate
Relax, the Taliban is a paper tiger and Lebanon in the 70’s was a great laboratory for democracy so much that Bush has modeled Iraq on the same model.
-G
she is a turd in the punchbowl, isn’t she…?
the gentleman inherent in me (thanks mom, I’d rather have been an asshole) insists and requires that I remain silent upon this particular question….
Same here… clinging to the metaphor, trying not to paint any pictures.
The frogs are nice, but the dancer afterwards will blow your mind.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOqxSaW05p4
Sheeeit. What I have to wonder is if McCain is the “placeholder” candidate that is barely acceptable to some plurality of republicans for the general election. I have to wonder if they (the GOoPer party bosses) are even expecting him to win, and have “allowed” him to garner the nomination that Preznit Muttonhaid slandered him out of in 2000.
Think about it, no one is raving about the senile fool except the BBQ sucking millionaire punditry, and they have a vested interest in being “correct” in perpetuity to keep their fat salaries and expensive botox and plastic surgery. Anything less than a McCain victory might be a one-way ticket off to doing “News Weather and Sports at 11″ on the local Fox affiliate (or wherever) if Obama wins in November.
does make ya wonder jofish
Is this news?
Bush likely to delay planned withdrawal of troops from Iraq
I like your style.
(but I *do* like BBQ and instantly believe anything and everything that anybody tells me) but as luck would have it – I don’t have a news gig – so who cares?
Anybody remember Jenna Bush going to Mexico on Sept. 12, 2001? From Slate:
i’ll start getting it ready for the news box – thanks
McCain is boring except in his contradictions and 100 year war. Ever tried to listen to one of his speeches? I can hardly wait for him to debate our nominee! teehee.
OT, and I can’t find a link just yet — just heard on the late local news (delayed because of the NCAA tournament) that Al Wynn will be leaving office in June…special election in MD-4.
“Bush praised as a bold decision the offensive against Shia militias ordered by the prime minister, Nouri al-Maliki, also a Shia. “This operation is going to take some time to complete,” Bush predicted, though the offensive would demonstrate to Iraqis that no one was above the law.”
btw forgot to credit The Guardian via Raw Story
100 years, neuro. There’s money to be made!
See, the surge in Iraq has achieved “reversible success,” so we can’t pull out:
From the right wingers I know, I get the impression they’re truculently expecting to lose and good riddance, they didn’t want the dirty old job anyway so there. Buncha whiners.
I wonder what Bush will tell Petraeus to tell him next month.
No, I don’t…
Those damn jerks! Whatever Petraeus says, the press will treat it as chisled on stone tablets perched in a burning bush.
Definitely EPUville. I’ve seen some ballet in my day but that is nothing less than incredible.
Jane Hamsher:
Al Wynn leaving early.
There are a couple of moves, when she’s on his shoulder and head that I think are two of the most incredible moves of balance and control I’ve ever witnessed. Thanks.
