To shell at 68- I think I pretty much have you in age, I started voting democrat in 1960. I certainly will not vote for McCain and I did not vote for Hillary in the Michigan primary, I voted for Edwards. I Dont understand how you think Obi one has the nomination locked up, the last I heard there were still a lot of primaries to go and he hasn’t proved he can win a big state. As for voting for Ralphie makes a helluva lot more sense than your states senators and Nancy Pelosi, who will not uphold their constitutional duty and impeach these bastards. That is why I am voting for Ralphie.

The (un)Democratic party — the party I have supported for 45 years!

I am so disgusted with Dean, Pelosi (not impeach), Reid (FISA coward) — I want these a**holes gone as much as I want Bush, et al., gone.

One person, one secret ballot (if eligible, registered, and in state of residency). A complete and accurate count.

How can we deny or not count a vote by a citizen, and then allow a supposed higher authority approve or enforce the evil? Then, are we to let the clock run out, so any challenge becomes moot? Oh! I remember now. But, this time it is ‘we against us.’

All of this other blather about one candidate dropping out for the sake of the party is just a smokescreen — while the clock ticks down.

We still have plenty of time, resources, and options to have a primary revote in both Florida and Michigan — not caucuses, but real primary elections.

I am so disgusted with my party. I have seen the erosion of our rights and stifling of our voices effected by neocons, and more than abetted by some of the feeble progressives we have elected to serve and protect us.

How are we to repair the damage caused by this war, the gluttony at the top, our ignorance of the disadvantaged, the putrid behavior of the fourth estate, etc., if we do not have our vote and voice?

It seems that supporting our party, voting, marching, waving signs, and typing words into emacs buffers will have little, if any, impact.

Throughout this campaign, I have said that I would support any candidate nominated by our party.

I am beginning to believe that my only option is to write in a vote for whichever Democratic candidate is NOT nominated.

No citizen should be denied the opportunity to participate in a primary or disenfranchised in an election. Fix the Florida-Michigan debacle. Let the primaries continue as they may. Then the Presidential Election, Electoral College, and Swearing in. Then we clean up our party by getting rid of our own bags-o-sh*t, beginning with Dean, Pelosi, and Reid. Then we gut the DNC and get our primary rules right.

What no one seems to be getting in the McCain versus hypothetical dem is that today the dems are in a very nasty battle. Alot of Obama supporters today will say they are voting for McCain in a Obama/McCain matchup and the same would be true for Clinton supporters in a Obama/McCain mathchup. My guess is that at the very least half of these people will eventually come to their sences and not vote against their best interest. If you add these percentages to the current dead even polls you would find both Clinton and Obama way out in front of McInsane.

Any “Democrat” who would vote for McCain if their candidate doesn’t get the nomination isn’t a Democrat. Or an independent. Or have an IQ above room temperature. I would say ditto for Ralph Nader voters, too. I am old enough to remember Nader’s insanity from years ago. Clue phone: Nader is insane or senile. Voting for him makes you look insane, or like a 10-year-old.

That said, I am an Obama supporter who will not vote for Hillary. Why? Obama won, and if Clinton steals the nomination, doesn’t that say it all? Besides, I am not rich. Therefore, I don’t find Hillary’s “I can out-Republican any Republican” very funny.

If she succeeds in her theft, I simply will not vote. Living in California, that is easy. Whatever Democrat gets the nomination will take CA. If I lived in, say, Missouri, I would have to think long and hard.

I have to stop reading these Progressive Blogs, even though I am not a Hillary fan, it seems like I am reading the Drudge Report or Russ Limp Paws diatribe. Even though I am not going to vote Democratic this time, I will vote for Ralphie, most of these people are destroying the Democratic nominees before the election. Even all the supposedly Progressive radio talk shows come out with their extreme bias towards Hillary. Ah well, it will be interesting to see Insane McCain makes a close election out of it.

It’s too bad religion has become an issue in this campaign, because it has no place in politics. I was a bit put off when Obama said something to the effect that we [too] worship an awesome God in the blue states. That statement leaves us atheists out in the cold. I wish he would stick to the political issues, but this stupid Wright controversy scotched that prospect. Yesterday Barack said that we should not be distracted by people saying dumb things, so maybe he is sending us a message to stop sniping at Hillary, and keep our eye on the prize in November.

Yes we do, but some have to keep it going to make themselves feel better in their opinions. There are two blogs right now created to go after me. One is by a right wing troll (understandable) and the other is by a bunch of so-called liberal/progressives. *shaking head*

It never ends. LOL

I love it here at FDL. Many different opinions and a nice sense of community despite the differences. ;-)

Officially going to work now.

Fuck the polls. Too easy to skew them and too easy to lie about them or to misrepresent the results. Fuck ‘em, piss on ‘em. If we don’t own or control them, don’t rely on them. Read them, maybe, but only on the theory that while you keep your loved ones close, keep your enemies closer. Those polls tell us a great deal about how the pollsters (and their owners) think about us even as they tell us little of predictive value.

Bill and Hillary’s current 72 hour campaign meme of the benefits of ’spirited debate’ in a democracy hopes to keep the charade going that we’re operating in a pre-9/11, pre-fascistic, business-as-usual, peacetime potical environment where a little excitement is needed to stir up the masses. As if Americans and the world haven’t had the shit kicked out of them enough for the last seven years by politicians of all stripes.

I’m afraid the Clintons, who I once supported before Hillary’s sincere vote for the war, have lost my interest and respect, having shown preference for gutter sleeze when cornered that I used to naively believe was reserved for the likes of nutcase conspiracists like Richard Mellon Scaife.

Yes, Obama has some more ’splainin’ to do about his pastor or his grandma, but at least he’s delivered a reasoned, and I believe, amazingly inspiring vision in response to the YouTube “Assault on White America” vids, while Hillary could only muster a tepid, very Bush-like shrug and smile regarding getting caught in her very Bush-like lies about her adventures in Bosnia dodging hostile verse and stray phonemes on the tarmac.

I’m beyond done with Karl Rove in the White house. So, naturally, I don’t want another 4-8 years of fear and lies from warhawks like whats-his-name, the old Republican guy running for office, or, potentially, Hillary…who appears to have taken to sweating to the oldies while watching her pirated copy of the “Joementum Abs-of-Steal WorkOut” DVD released a couple years ago.
