Nice work! Cross-linked everywhere that I can see!
Done and done! Yay Jane!
That’s nice but they fail to inform their viewers about the most important part of the story.
I signed right away.
We’ll see whether anything substantive happens, beyond maybe giving McBu’ush some PR heartburn.
“Led by the sites firedoglake and dailykos” WOOHOO!
So?
Heh, I just signed it via Digby…! *g*
OT, but what’s the apostrophe in “McBu’ush” for?
Sew?
.WAY.TO.GO.
They like us, they really like us. Can candy and rose petals at our soldiers feet be far behind?
What, they don’t like deadly, parasitic infections that eventually kill their hosts? Ingrates.
Hey Jane,
Heads up…
Document notary is missing the date…an incomplete notary will make the document invalid. You may need to refile when the original notary completes the notary section. I signed the petition and did not see my name added to the list.
Thank you,
Peggy
I wasn’t thrilled with the way CNN framed the argument making it sounds as if the bloggers are upset so they filed a complaint. Not that McCrazy is breaking his own damn campaign finance laws.
Kudos to Jane and Markos.
Blitzer has my creepmeter of the scale when I see him. I can’t put my finger on it, his demeanor, his beard, his underlying tone that means everything is a scandal or urgent. His voice sounds like he’s had too much medication.
I’m so confused…
Awesome job, Jane!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-u3WbiCcQ8
Jane it’s so cool to see video of you delivering the petition on CNN!
The Beard must now do penance for reporting something from the left wing that will make The Dark One unhappy.
I don’t even want to know what that could be.
Standing up and waving my “I Love FDL” banner.
I like that Abby picked this up. I hope that the rest of the MSM does and the pull that complaint out of the circular file it is now in at the FEC. I hope they haven’t emptied the trash. Without a receipt they will claim they never received it.
The big picture is the defeat of John McCain.
Lahoma
Just wait until the “Great Orange Satan” hears you got top billing on cnn.
heehee.
I signed your petition and posted something about it on my bloglet too. Good job Jane. Another case of Republicans hoist by their own petard, several petards, actually.
This is great work…from a great blog.
BTW, Miss Jane is just cuter’n a bugs ear. ain’t she?
pretty cool! This is exactly what we want — they have to start acknowledging this stuff. Good for you, Jane!
Of course, they’ll try to spin it. But, at least, there’s discussion now in the MSM…
Do you have to go to one place in the country to file a complaint, or do they have offices everywhere?
yea Jane! I signed as I was checking my e-mail. I love getting e-mails from Jane!!
For the last seven years the minority in this country has been threatened. If Mr. McCain is elected president next November, it will be the majority which is in danger.
Lahoma
Someone take a poll. This may be the most re-blogged story of the day. Fantastic work!
Excellent, Jane. You good!!
A few of the are captured in the video, would be hard for them to claim they never received it.
Dear John,
We find your antics delicious,
Your taste for theater pernicious
So remember that show from long long ago
When your ethics were markedly suspicious
Dude you’re so corrupt, we’re tossing you out of the club,

The Keating
FiveFourThe big picture is elected officials that work for us.
Someone take a poll. This might be the most re-blogged story of the day. Fantastic work!
They only agree to that statement when they are trying to become “re“-elected officials.
1,793 DAYZ AND THE KILLIN’ GOEZ ON AND ON AND…
Citizen Hamsher:
Now THAT’s what I call citizen action…you get another “Norske Citizenship Award” for usin’ the hard earned clout of yer name and yer blog to force this issue into the corporate media. Of course it ain’t goin’ anywhere ‘cuz that’s why the fascists have stalled new appointments to commissions like the FEC…the only thing that our end of the political spectrum ken do is keep slingin’ this stuff out there and hope that it begins ta pull down the mask of respectability on these krypto-Nazis like McCain.
Now what ken ya do about gettin’ Mrs. Clinton-McCain ta come outta her Republican closet?
KEEP THE FAITH …HERE’S MORE AMMUNITION, I KNOW YOU KEN USE IT!!
We should start calling McCain’s “Straight Talk Express”
bus “The Pinocchio Express”. His three biggest lies:
1.The Sunni Al Qaeda in Iraq is being helped by the Shia Iranians.
2.The Surge is Working
3.He didn’t accept public financing
I believe that the Republic position (and, therefore, the Cable News position) is that it is not lying if you are a Republic.
We are the change we’re waiting for.
Rock on, Jane.
Nice work, I’m very excited by this.
That was my thought as well. Still no mention of the fact that he used the public finance option to guarantee a loan to his campaign.
Still need to push this forward. (Not that I think there’s a danger of dropping it…)
good job jane!
pups-can’t watch the video–dial-up, so, what did they say?
=======
and i have a question that hasn’t been answered yet am reposting it–
posted earlier to you and christy
finally, closer to an answer for my question that i asked the other day……
on the link above, called a strongly worded letter-pdf—the fec states the two things that would make it illegal to withdraw from their agreement……
but, another part of the question i have been wondering about, did he state on the loan agreement anything that is a violation of these rules?
the fec letter references two paragraphs from the bank loan agreement. that are in contention.
can’t find it.
does anyone have alink to the bank loan agreement?
============
and NORSKE–big brother, i verbally flipped that bugger back atcha in the last thread.
(laughing with hand on hip, bullseye)
I like this type of direct action.
In fact I think the left should do more of these types of direct actions.
How about calling a press conference after you deliver the complaint. Or have a little peaceful demo outside as well?????
I don’t know how the Rethugs can keep calling us foulmouthed feminist bloggers when we have a gen-u-wine poet right here. Bravo!!
Digg it up above!
Sorry, I don’t know how to do a Digg link.
Digg it

just copy and paste the url from the digg you submitted :)

Actually, that report is mistaken. Blackwater Fever wasn’t named by any Anbar Iraqis. It’s an old, established name for a serious complication of malaria.
Damage to the kidneys causes urine to turn black from hemoglobin. Strange thing to name a mercenary outfit after.
Wolf threw it to Abbey Tatton, the internet reporter, who said a group of liberal bloggers, led by firedoglake and Dailykos, are saying McCain broke financing laws and filed a complaint with the FEC. She then said St. McCain sent a letter to the FEC saying he was withdrawing from public financing feeling the matter was settled. The FEC chairman says it is not settled and it must go to a vote, but with all those empty seats at the commission, a quorum cannot be reached.
CNN did not say McCain was breaking the law, but they did point out he was breaking the law. Sorta like I used to tell my big brother, “I won’t tell on you, I’ll just ask mom if she knows what you did.”
Wierd ass kabuki.
Woohoo go Jane
Just had a friend of mine sign on as well
you go GRRLLLLLL! Signed and forwarded!!!
Thanks, tbsa and Elliott
Wow. Thanks for that info.
Loved that video. Jane Hamsher: kicking ass every day.
Hi Lahoma! Say hi to kiddo!
Completely and utterly OT… I just wanted to let y’all know that eCAHNomics arrived safely in Savannah, but the hotel where she’s staying doesn’t have e-mail access so you may not hear from her while she’s reveling in the warm spring weather down here. We’re going to meet for cocktails on Friday and I’ll try to get a picture. As you were…
McCain will offer his straight talk as long as his teleprompter moves slowly enough to read.
-G
thanks for the news, Marion.
St McCain’s got so much “experience and expertise” credibility banked with Traditional Media, they can’t call either one into question without badly hurting their own. They are locked in a love-and-death grip with this dangerous man, and it’s up to the progressives to break it.
Only by continuing actions like Jane’s, and exposing the media to them, will reporters wake from their sleeping embrace with Crazy Train.
We need to call McCain dangerous often and constantly.
He is dangerous.
oooh, firepups cocktailing in Savannah! Look out!
Thank you for the report Marion,
do you do biscuits with cocktails?
John McCain - playing the “experience and expertise” card with all the aplomb of someone who masterfully avoided jail as a Keating Kontemporary.
Say hi to eCAHN! We want pictures!
oilfield at 48 says in part-”“I won’t tell on you, I’ll just ask mom if she knows what you did.”
funny.
i used to say-”i won’t tell, but you better figure out how to fix it.”
if you fixed it before they found out, usually no trouble.
she was grounded once for an entire year…….would almost be done, then, do something stupid, grounded.
was really almost a year and a half, but a solid year streak in there, she now teaches 9th grade english, she knows all of their tricks.
thanks for the re-cap-
” She then said St. McCain sent a letter to the FEC saying he was withdrawing from public financing feeling the matter was settled. The FEC chairman says it is not settled and it must go to a vote, but with all those empty seats at the commission, a quorum cannot be reached.”
sounds like she was told to carefully set the foundational scene for the upcoming boxing match.
There’s a Starbucks on the corner of Bull & Broughton with WiFi. Have a drink for me.
As Helen Chenowith said, “That was twenty years ago!”
OfT:
Noron fucks up; says McCain called for Rumsfeld’s resignation.
1,793 DAYZ AND THE KILLIN’ GOEZ ON AND ON AND…
Citizen Marion:
Jeez louEEZE…mint julips in Savannah!! Those better be some dy-nomite drinks ta go ta frickin’ Georgia ta drink ‘em!
KEEP THE FAITH, NUTHIN’ WRONG WITH DIXIE THAT A GOOD DOSE A DDT AND A NUCLEAR ACCIDENT WOULDN’T TAKE CARE OF!!
Woo Hoo!
I signed that badboy!
OT again — WiFi also at Clary’s Cafe on Habersham & Jones (good for breakfast) and the Firefly Cafe on Habersham ( on the square just south of Jones St.).
The DNC also filed a similar complaint against McCain back in February. Here is the link to the complaint.

So you’re saying that there is no statute of limitations for John McCain’s prior bad acts? Well, that’s certainly Hillary of you. LOL
Are ya freezin’ yer trigger guard off?
Hello, RieszFisher.
L.
I signed it Jane when I got home today. You and Markos’ email went to TWO email boxes of mine. Wow! You guys are on the ball. ;-) By the way, I signed it once. LOL
Hello, Lahoma. And kiddo.
I guess I’d better go check my e-mail…
norske–left you a message at 52 in the last thread
i wrote this at 41in this thread for ya-
and NORSKE–big brother, i verbally flipped that bugger back atcha in the last thread.
(laughing with hand on hip, bullseye)
That should read RieszFischer. Sorry.
L.
Yes you should! Woohoo! :-)
Hello neurophius.
Lahoma
And what the heck does the FEC mean when it says it doesn’t have a Commissioner right now to handle this? That is such poppycock if I ever heard a poppy cock before! The right wingers will do anything to protect it’s own. *shaking head in disgust*
((lahoma)) ((kiddo))
Hope all is well with you both
KO time
they have a number of vacancies, much like many agencies
Way EPU’d, but thanks to all pups who responded to news about eCAHNomics. I’ll let her know that y’all care!
All is well, wobblybits.
L.
Link to a page that has a link to the loan agreements. Some of the contested language (the first loan agreement) is in what appears to be boilerplate fine print.
FEC “Notice to Reporters and Editors” - Feb 21, 2008
I’ve reproduced the language in plaintext at this link
Norske, you are such a creature of habit!
Proud to have signed the petition! Thanks for asking via e-mail.

thanks!!
just saw this, am way behind today, browser keeps quitting on me and closing my windows, and tubes are soooooooo slow today, have to wait for all of the windows to load again where i left off, it’s crazy, they’re working on it.
the fec cited two paragraphs in particular, those are the ones i was trying to find…….thanks again.
Complaint co-signed. What a jackoff McCain is. “Duuuuuuuuuuuuh, economy, what’s an economy?”
Received your email at work today and signed the petition. John McCain, ignoring laws just like Bush. Or maybe he just issued a Bush-like ’signing statement’ when he agreed to public funding, I don’t recall hearing about it, though.
cboldt-at 87–http://cboldt.blogspot.com/2008/02/hr-2082-intelligence-authorization.html#mccain
what a great resource you are!!!!! (i sound like yoda)
i couldn’ tread the pdf very well, small print, thanks for posting the pertinent excerpts on your blog.
after reading the letters again, plus your loan agreement info, i think he’s in a little bitta trouble.
signed and sent!! i’m loving this!! kudos jane - nice video proof too ;o)
I signed this afternoon after I got the e-mail from Jane and Markos. Heard Markos on with Sam Seder this afternoon, too.
Love the video of Jane filing the complaint at the FEC offices — she looks so cute.
Let’s hope we keep hearing more and more about this in the MSM.
great job, jane!
But McCain loves his FEC..from his website
“Contributions are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. Federal Election Law requires us to report the name, address, occupation, and employer for contributions aggregating in excess of $200 in an election cycle. The maximum an individual may contribute is $2,300 for the primary election and an additional $2,300 for the general election. Couples may contribute $4,600 for the primary and general elections, respectively. Federal PACs may contribute $5,000 for each election. Contributions from corporations, labor unions, federal government contractors, national banks, and foreign nationals without permanent residency status are prohibited.”
Jane Hamsher:
I also posted this up above.
You don’t want to know the Washington Post’s editorial take on the nature of the “Scandal in the Making“. Here’s all they say about McCain:
This begs Letters to the Editor.
