One day you’re functioning and getting past it – and the next day……. we don’t wanna talk about the next day.

I thought I was the toughest SOB ever deposited on this planet (and to this day I tell myself that nobody else could have gone that long, self-righteous asshole that I am), but the fact remains that when I went down, it was within a matter of hours. What went down within those few hours would take a long time to tell – don’t feel like it right now.

What *does* matter is that you do something *Right Now* – either tell your regular doctor to fuck off and give you something that helps, or go somewhere else where they understand and will help you.

As doc Kirk said to me the other day – “Get thee to a doctory”.

You are a most valuable voice around here – not gonna stand around idly and lose you – this shit can kill you, or even worse, per Springsteen, “they wind up wounded, and not even dead.”

so, i’ve been warned… but in a way, hearing the really bad stories like yours jayt, makes part of me think “oh well, i don’t have it that bad, i shouldn’t complain” – but the other part of me is going to look up a sleep specialist.

I spent two weeks curled into a fetal ball, with only a vague knowledge of who *I* was… luckily, I remembered, when they showed up, the faces of my family. During that two-week period, I lost almost all of my memory – today, I figure I’ve got about 97% of it back, but that’s still a loss.

For example, I can remember trials from years ago, the issues involved, how I argued it, and the outcome – but I have no memory whatsoever of the name or face of the person I was representing. Nor can I put any specific incident into the proper year – that is something I’m no longer capable of.

Serious business – get it fixed – please….

thanks to all for the encouragement – norske has inspired me to google (and ask) around about sleep specialists. cuz it doesn’t seem to be getting any better.

the thing is, it’s not just me – i have horror stories from everyone i know here who’s had a serious illness. like i said – it’s nothing like the other places i’ve lived (where i’ve had multiple hospitalizations, treated for cancer, etc – so i had plenty of experience with various health care professionals)… this place is an outlier.
