It looks like someone will have to pop for $89.95 and then wade through 12 hours and 10 minutes of video to find the appropriate snippet to convert into a YouTube video, but I do believe that this is a link to the recording of the fateful day.
Who wants to take on this task?

How about this one:

    A: I don’t believe in public financing because I don’t think my tax dollars should be used to fund a person’s campaign that I philosophically disagree with… I think soft money is the primary evil. I believe that there’s going to come a time when people will say ‘this system is broken.’… It’s now legal in America for a Chinese Army-owned corporation with a subsidiary in the U.S. to give unlimited amounts of money to an American campaign.

    Source: Joint interview with Bradley & McCain Dec 16, 1999

That one just proves that St John is a knucklehead, and we already knew that. Public financing is the mechanism that insures that we have (relatively) clean, competitive campaigns. More importantly, public financing assures that no office holder is indebted to anyone but the public for her presence in office.

That’s the goal of public financing, St. John. As long as we allow folks with deep pockets to legally bribe our elected representatives with campaign contributions, we’re going to have an Animal Farm Government: All Animals are Created Equal, but some animals are more equal than others.

Do you think for a moment that I could get on Congresscritter Steve Pearce’s calendar? Not a chance. Do you think that Bob Gallagher (President of the NM Oil and Gas Producer’s Assn) can? At the drop of a hat he can get on Pearce’s calendar.

That might not change under public financing, but for sure Pearce wouldn’t owe Gallagher a favor or twelve.

BC

I don’t suppose anyone could dig up the C-SPAN2 video that immortalizes those fine words from the brave Senator McCain as he rails against presidential candidates who only want to game the system.

http://search.ft.com/ftArticle.....&ct=0

”Mr McCain has vowed to crack down on them, with ”additional legislation if necessary”, and overhaul the FEC, which he calls ”enablers of violations of the law”. ”

=============

ok, i think thisis my final one, and it’s a killer, nice article from financial times from feb this year, about what’s going on with mccain and the fec.

http://search.ft.com/ftArticle.....&ct=0

”Mr McCain said: ”We think it’s perfectly legal. One of our advisers is a former chairman of the FEC, and we are confident that it was an appropriate thing to do.”

========

yeah, ’my friend’ says it’s ok. so it’s ok /s

jane/christy–my question is-if he didn’t take the loan, can he be bound by it?

i’ve filled out forms before and then didn’t sign, therefore didn’t do business with them, so, i’m wonderin’ about that part. is just mccain saying he is going to get the loan, is he bound by it? is it collateral if it is just voiced? yes, he manipulated, but was it illegal?
