Most of them. Quite a few are washed out or have entire houses lodged underneath. The bridge below my house was about three feet under water and only half remains. At least we can drive across the remaining half.
Please.. don’t fret. I am rather spacey myself this evening. I blame it on the Moonie book Bad Moon Rising I am trying to get through before tomorrows book salon.
Hi all. What’s on my mind is the day’s highlight for me which was being present at the Obama/Richardson campaign rally today in Portland. They sure raised the roof.
off to bed but the second contractor involved in the passport snooping story is The Analysis Corporation per Raw Story The CEO of this company has donated $2300 to the Obama campaign back in Jan of 2008. As reported earlier, the CEO of Stanley, Inc is on record to have made a donation to the Clinton campaign in Feb of 2008.
It looked good on TV. I thought it was striking that Richardson asked for Obama and Clinton to stop the fighting. He repeated that sentiment on the KO show in the evening. On that show, he also said that he had been very close to endorsing Clinton. Of course we can never know what the real motivations are, but he seemed to genuinely struggle with it.
A puppet show version of “Harry Potter” featuring a naked Dumbledore and an enigmatic song called “Chocolate Rain” by a Minnesota graduate student were among the winners of YouTube’s second annual video awards, the Web site said on Friday.
I felt like their interactions had VP overtones. They embraced on at least three different occasions and Richardson looked and sounded like he was exactly where he wanted to be.
I caught word that Richardson might be endorsing Obama at about 6am PST from the web but was floored at dawn about an hour later while standing in line that Richardson was IN Portland and would be endorsing in front of us. That was pretty exciting.
I watched a fair amount of Hardball tonight, and Tweety seemed to be getting it, for a change. It seemed like Obama’s speech made a big impression on him. What’s your impression?
ES- you asked “what’s on your mind?” and I got something on my mind. But, it will take several paragraphs. Like, is Late Nite the venue for this? Like, it’s serious.
I had to skip him completely today. His intentional failure to place any context on Rev Wrights remarks this week,, nearly gave me high blood pressure.
“An act of betrayal,” said James Carville, an adviser to Mrs. Clinton and a friend of Mr. Clinton.
“Mr. Richardson’s endorsement came right around the anniversary of the day when Judas sold out for 30 pieces of silver, so I think the timing is appropriate, if ironic,” Mr. Carville said, referring to Holy Week.
I heard estimates of 12-13k in attendance. I really dug the cool retro upbeat funk music being played and wondered it’s canned music they play everywhere. It definitely set a lively mood for an early friday morning.
The crowd was plain loud. The loudness really started with Richardson which kind of surprised me – likely a more raucous reception than he’s received anywhere in a long time.
There were numerous nuanced moments that felt right. I got a kick out one comment Obama made that gave me an idea for a good rebuttal to the Rev. Wright flap:
“with Obama as our president, we would be reverting back to a president who believes in science“
I owe my political education to FDL, and before that Brad Blog. What really drew me to FDL was the unusually high percentage of female voices, and the general lack of pissing matches.
w/o FDL, I don’t think I would have come as far as I have in terms of speaking out about politics, not only online, but out and and about. I feel so much more confident speaking out publicly about politics than I could have ever imagined. Empowering.
I recently had a great experience, but seemed no where appropriate to post it on a thread at FDL. And, this would have not been possible w/o my reading of FDL, and then DWT, and getting to know Howie, and his BA work.
I do wish there was some thread (again) where lurkers could come out, but also where people could also speak about the good things that have come about because of their participation in FDL.
The negative stuff is really getting me down. (course that’s not generally true at Late Nite.)
And maybe that’s why I find it more fulfilling to do various stuff for Howie, looking at House and Senate races, bec. there really is a shared enemy in terms of the nasty congresscritters that deserve to be taken down. I am just so tired of the Clinton bashing and the Obama bashing. Really, who we elect to House and Senate next time around seems every bit as important.
“It would be costly and time-consuming for the White House to institute an e-mail retrieval program that entails pulling data off each individual workstation, the court papers filed Friday state.”
I feel much the same way. I do think FDL has been better than most since the front pagers are not endorsing. And i am hoping we progressives get back into full swing as the nominee selection becomes a bit more obvious than I think it already is.. That said, it cannot happen soon enough!
hey Suz! that’s great. and it would also be great to have time to celebrate the great things, the great positive impact that FDL has had for some of who are not “lurkers”
Christy makes a good point, if ya don’t have facts from credible sources, refrain from flinging the poo! No candidate is infallible, but, it’d better be credible crap you’re shoveling…! And, BTW, your candidate sucks… *g*

I’ve volunteered to work for Jim Martin, who I think has the best chance of taking down the odious Saxby Chamberpot. And, I’ve been sending him/ the campaign lots of email, talking about the importance of getting a Nationwide presence for fund raising. I hope he pays attention ;) Really, the House and Senate races are so important. Darrel Issa is odious. Saxby is odious. Let’s get rid of them both, and a few others besides!
Good point. Plus, we’ll be digging into the crimes of this administration for the remainder of our lives. Remember Pelosi saying last summer that we don’t know the half of it???
I am in an odd situation.. Not one of my congress critters or seanator have a challenger.. with the exception of one Green running against Mark “Lieber-lovin gang of fourteen member” Pryor. So any help I might be able to do for the progressive cause must be on out of state races.
My only critter I have regrets about is Inouye, and he’s second only to Byrd in seniority in the Senate, otherwise, the rest have A+ ratings in Progressive Punch’s eyes…!
Ron, and let me add something off topic for you, about why I appreciate FDL and its commenters.
On one thread, a good while back, you mentioned that Lawrence Krauss was up on CSPAN, giving a lecture about Science and Anti-science. I missed it in real time, but found it in the archives.
I was really impressed, and bought the DVD to show to my freshman seminar “Science and the Citizen”. We watched part of it yesterday in class, and will finish on Tuesday. The guy speaks the truth. But, one of my freshpersons said “wow, he’s really radical”.
Franklin Roosevelt was sworn in to office on March 4th, 1933. One of his first acts was to call for a special session of Congress on March 9th to deal with the banking crisis. Congress convened at 1:00 PM on the 9th, and the 100 Days were kicked off at 8:36 PM that evening when Roosevelt signed in to law the Emergency Banking Act. 100 days later Roosevelt signed in to law the Glass-Steagall Act, which separated commercial and investment banking.
By the way, he is part of a group trying to create a Science-themed Presidential debate called Science Debate 2008 (their site doesn’t load in Firefox for me):
I know that, but he’s going to be absolutely humiliated and crushed in the debates. I know he’ll wear an earpiece with somebody feeding him the answers, but he’s too far gone for even that to help!
Ron- yes I discovered that when I was googling for Lawrence Krauss. That also is a great link. Anyone who watched his speech (and even if not) should know that science and scientific literacy are incredibly important, not just “because”, but because the US has fallen behind on an issue that is of economic importance. I don’t usually focus on economics, because I do basic research in science, but really, this is something that we need to pay attention to.
As the United States economy weakens, many Americans are being overwhelmed by personal debt, but Britons are even more profligate. For most of the last decade, consumers here went on a debt-financed spending spree that made them the most indebted rich nation in the world, racking up a record £1.4 trillion in debt ($2.8 trillion) — more than the country’s gross domestic product.
By comparison, personal debt in the United States is $13.8 trillion, including mortgage debt, slightly less than the country’s $14 trillion G.D.P.
Loo Hoo- nice find! And, Howie Klein (I love Howie) has had a lot to say about Norm Coleman in his posts at DWT. Too late in the eve for me to find the DWT links, but he and Howie were classmates together in the Brooklyn public schools. And Howie remembers him quite well!
ES, you give great youtube. i’m learnin’ all kinds of new music when you post.
finally, anybody that hasn’t read Glenn Greenwald on Ann Marie Slaughter be sure and do it. and he links to Arthur Silber (powerofnarrative) who has the clearest, most powerful and succinct takedown of the war cheerleaders ever.
gotta go. work is crushing me and i AM gonna take off on Monday and spend three days in Vienna.
You have to be absolutely certain and exact on the time.
One degree less or more can mean a huge difference. Find out EXACTLY and get back to me. or tell suzi.
I can tell you some with the date.
found my birth certificate – but it just says that I was born – not at what time though.
Probably still a little early to call me mum down in Fla and ask, I’m thinkin’.
Spidey, are you on dial-up or high speed? (just wondering if anybody’s listening to the YouTubes or whether, once again, I’m just entertaining myself)…
What under Bush have we lost our Most in Debt Worldwide Status? Is that how bad our economy is? You know a Super Power is in decline when an other county can borrow more than they can.
Mornin’ TCU – kinda depends on which country has more available collateral, doesn’t it?
Now we still got a shit-load of Starbucks’, fast-food restaurants and liquor stores, but I don’t know what kinda value they’d carry on the world-wide economic market…
How do you factor in the possibility that it was long enough ago (maybe not even that) when whoever was in the room didn’t place any importance on recording time of birth precisely?
I was one of the cut and stitch varieties; gotta feeling the mum was a wee tad too “out of it” at that point in time to care much about whether she was “vested” in the process or not. *g*
time to wake up a little – it’s almost 6:00 A.M. here. Neighbors wouldn’t know how to act if I wasn’t up at this hour on a weekend morning playing a few of my favorites:
(and I’m still not buying the idea that this is why none of them speak to me)..
In fact, a lot of ‘em are kids, and last night must have been a big one, ’cause from the number of doors I hear opening and closing, I think a lot of them are still awake too. and fwiw, in reality I keep my music turned down “real” low this early. I’m not really a terrible jerk – I just play one sometimes.
Sounds like they were just biding their time to come back and haunt you.
Forgive the worrying from this end of the line but, if you didn’t get them checked by a medical professional this time, please do if it happens again. I know a number of pups were nagging you about that so hope it doesn’t offend to have another voice added to the chorus.
nah – in the end, it was plantar fasciitis that eventually put an end to the playin’ days. That shit hurt so bad (like stepping on a sharp stone barefooted with each step). *That* pain, even my subconscious couldn’t make it through – I started noticing that jump stops became two or three step stops – the explosive moves were no longer explosive – just kinda rolled into them.
And I was no longer the quickest guy on the court – couldn’t deal with that part especially – *that’s* when I gave it up…
Two of the government contractors who allegedly took a peek at Sen. Barack Obama’s passport records worked for a Virginia-based firm called Stanley, Inc., according to U.S. government officials with knowledge of the State Department passport controversy.
So, the people who snooped are not the contractors and not employees of the State Department, and the State Department has no authority to fire them. It can only insist that they be taken off that particular contract.
There’s no indication that the State Department has fired the contractor, Stanley, Inc., and no indication that Stanley, Inc. has fire those particular empoyees.
on CSPAN this morning, the announcer stated that just this week Stanley was awarded a contract for processing passport applications. I’ll see if I can find another source…
I. do. not. understand. WHY??? HOW??? can any poll give the difference in donations intake and still show mcbush ahead on any other measure. And, NO! I trust polls about as much as I trust 30-day-old milk not to give you a belly ache but something smells about as high as that milk would when such discrepancies show up. Who? what? is causing it to happen….rovian tactics?
There’s no indication that the State Department has fired the contractor, Stanley, Inc., and no indication that Stanley, Inc. has fire those particular empoyees.
“Fired”? darlin’. Iirc (and take that with a very large grain of salt), I read?heard somewhere this morning that the Department of Stoopid very recently awarded them a new contract to do more of the same. Can’t remember source, unfortunately. :-(
speaking of TPM as well. It’s probably already been covered here, but sometimes the sheer audacity of these guys, while you just *know* they’re secretly laughing their asses off, is truly enough to make my blood boil.
Having been away for a few days, I don’t know what all has been covered or not, but here’s a non-surprise:
The Pentagon on Friday ruled out including Adm. William Fallon as a witness before Congress when the top U.S. military and diplomatic officials in Baghdad testify next month on the way ahead in Iraq.
In declaring that Fallon would not join Gen. David Petraeus and Ambassador Ryan Crocker as witnesses before Congress next month, Pentagon press secretary Geoff Morrell said the decision had nothing to do with Fallon’s views on Iran or the reasons for his unexpected resignation and retirement.
Good morning, pups. It’s Collins and Egan in the NYT today. La Collins writes about “A Catered Affair,” and says that with New York awash in sex scandals, she’s been thinking that this stuff is not as much fun as it used to be. After a while, you’d rather get back to discussing highway construction. Mr. Egan’s column is titled “Donner Party Democrats,” and he says the modern Democrats press on, tearing into each other, crawling to get to the summit. They are now ravenous with hunger, and it is starting to show.
Thanks! I’ve got just the spot to tuck them into, in one of the new raised beds in the back that’s got some shamrocks blooming now. I love their “faces.”
I love the whole family from pansies down to my extra favorite violets. The joys of Spring. Helps to blunt the anger agony and frustration of our situation.

The El Pasoans are doing just fine Matt.

Most of them. Quite a few are washed out or have entire houses lodged underneath. The bridge below my house was about three feet under water and only half remains. At least we can drive across the remaining half.
are you unable to leave except by boat?
Please.. don’t fret. I am rather spacey myself this evening. I blame it on the Moonie book Bad Moon Rising I am trying to get through before tomorrows book salon.
Suz, did ya see this…
So we have floods in the Midwest and volcanos looking for virgins in CT’s place, now tell me – where are the locusts?
I can drive out.. I think. *s* Will find out tomorrow.
Suzanne, tell me what is going on. I’m only online with FDL and FB.
Hi all. What’s on my mind is the day’s highlight for me which was being present at the Obama/Richardson campaign rally today in Portland. They sure raised the roof.

Yea Betsy! Three cheers for ES!
naked dumbledore?
I’m feeling so small…
Good evening everybody…
Evening ES, hope the flooding is receding.
Any of you here at this moment into silent movies and it’s stars??? Got a treat that will make you go nuts. Any interest???
I was surprised when I opened my inbox and saw the email from Richardson saying he endorsed Obama… I had thought he was in Hill’s camp!
why small christine?
Only with Clintons so he could watch superbowl with Bill and share chips and wings.
go ask alice?
I didn’t want to find out if it was true, but, I did like the Chocolate Rain…!
Yep.
But the tone and style of Senator Clinton’s campaign is making it that much easier for “faithful” to slip away.
rather, powerless. But so happy to have friends here. Thanks, Tex.
Funny, I’d thought that Bill would’ve been an excellent asset for Hill, but, he seems to have been more of a hindrance… Weird…
many voices together can be heard when one voice is not.
That was pretty exciting.
i think they are running a 90’s campaign in the 21st century and it does not work like it used to.
I watched a fair amount of Hardball tonight, and Tweety seemed to be getting it, for a change. It seemed like Obama’s speech made a big impression on him. What’s your impression?
Of course, Mark Penn hasn’t helped one Iota, either…! *g*
I also felt the VP vibe. Richardson was not one of my favorite candidates, so I would like Obama to look elsewhere first.
What was the experience like at the event? How many people were there?
Funny, I vowed to see Janis: “one pill makes you small…” I’m too old.
And, for Democrats, it didn’t use to work. ;-)
I thought Tweety had developed a new man-crush as soon as the speech was over…! Bwhahaha…
Thanks y’all. Really, I am more than alright.
Anyone remeber this song? Here Come the Girls
twas grace slick singing that.. she’s now an artist doing paintings down along the so cal coast iirc.
Agreed!
Further, that seemed to be true for Scarborough too, but he got over it relatively quickly.
Did you misspell asshat?
-G
Well, folks, I tried.
Bonne nuit tout le monde.
It’s whatever you want it to be, VG.
But, did you see Chris Wallace’s stunning takedown of his own network’s thrashing of Obama? That was priceless…!!!
I agree, but he seems to have switched almost 180 degrees. Tonight he was bitching about Hagee. Really wierd.
Aloha, Quebecois!
do you have the youtube of it?
g’nite q
Brian Kilmeade too. He is usually pretty repulsivem but he walked out on Steve Douchy….err….Doocy after one too many Obama slams.
Strange days indeed.
-G
Whoops.. sorry Q, am lost in music and ready to ruffle Tweety feathers at the moment..) Just share the link and we will savor it soon enough.
Monday on FrontLine: Bush’s War.
Looks serious.
Olbermann mentioned it, but somehow in my channel surfing to the military channel I missed that part tonight. Damn!!
I love it!!!
Here’s a good one…
http://www.crooksandliars.com/…..a-bashing/
That was Grace Slick, not Janis.
Oh, please don’t give up! We are all trying to send a message to our friends, we need to pledge together.
By the way, can MSNBC lose the loop footage of Obama nibbling a chicken bone please?
-G
I watched, Chris.
Whatever I say can’t do it justice, so I won’t start.
Olbermann just started again. 3rd showing.
Night all.
Sleep well, Tex!
fridays – the night when there is no tds to conflict with the 3rd showing
pain free sleep wishes tex
Really! At least get some footage with meat on that bone.
Hey, Margot!
ha – i just noticed… richardson used some grecian formula on his hair and beard since the photo was taken of him and big dog watching the superbowl.
Quebecois,
please stay, I like silent films.
Oh boy, Carville is pissed!

Ha! You noticed too.
Funny.
G-night gang.

Huh. I wonder, are any religious groups — dare I say ‘cults’? — attaching any special significance to this happening at Easter/Good Friday/etc. time?
One Fabulous Firedog Forensic Fieldtrip coming right up!
Thanks, CT! FDL has been such a positive light for me.

Can we impeach now?
Excellent for you, VG! I feel much the same way. I’ve been working hard for Robert Hamilton, who is running against the horrid Darrell Issa.
Maybe the Dali Lama might inspire Nancy… I’m not holding my breath tho…! ;-)
I understand your sentiment.
When I was in grad school, my class was 30 men and 4 women. The women had a very tough time getting heard because the men were so aggressive at “shouting others down”. It’s what we men seem to do. [face embarrassed]
By the way, if the Dems win the White House, I think our progressive blogosphere will face tremendous forces of fragmentation. We won’t have a single unifying enemy anymore.
Land fill? Those computers were on the planes with the nukes. They’re in Alabama somewhere. (Or was it Georgia?)
Barksdale AFB, Louisiana…!
If we don’t get beyond 61 Senate seats, we will have plenty to oppose. I don’t expect Mr. Elaine and the Gooper Parade or RGJoe to be any less the fuckers they are now.
The nukes supposedly went to Louisiana, but I am willing to travel and dig.
We will need to start fighting common enemies of hunger, deprivation, lack of affordable housing. We’ll need to create jobs.
These are much “better” enemies to unite against, I think.
I beg to disagree, we’ll still have Nancy and Harry to focus on…!
Thanks, Loo Hoo
I’ve volunteered to work for Jim Martin, who I think has the best chance of taking down the odious Saxby Chamberpot. And, I’ve been sending him/ the campaign lots of email, talking about the importance of getting a Nationwide presence for fund raising. I hope he pays attention ;) Really, the House and Senate races are so important. Darrel Issa is odious. Saxby is odious. Let’s get rid of them both, and a few others besides!
And Schumer is staying put.. so 61 senate seats, whatever the odds were last week, just went down.
Good point. Plus, we’ll be digging into the crimes of this administration for the remainder of our lives. Remember Pelosi saying last summer that we don’t know the half of it???
Did someone say Schumer was leaving?
That’s why I factored 61… But Difi and the Landreau, Bachus, Salazar, The Nelsons…
nevermind.
Wow! Jane’s now got 671 comments on her piece at HuffPo on Richardson’s endorsement.
I am in an odd situation.. Not one of my congress critters or seanator have a challenger.. with the exception of one Green running against Mark “Lieber-lovin gang of fourteen member” Pryor. So any help I might be able to do for the progressive cause must be on out of state races.
How come nobody mentioned the Toy testing parties that NOW was talking about, a take-off on a Tupperware party…?
No. he is staying put in his position, managing Senate campaigns.. The Rahm of the Senate.
Go write a little note on Hamilton’s blog?
It doesn’t have to be endorsing Hamilton, just a thought about Issa…
Anyway, thanks for that Ron. Great find.

Wow, that’s cool! People post so many useful links here it’s amazing.
That was an awesome lecture he gave! I even stayed up for the re-airing of it!
FDL has the best commenters on the internets.
From DHinMi at Kos:
Ron- yes they do- I really was a great find, and I would have never found it but for your comment at FDL. I’ve been waiting for a moment to thank you!
just posted an article in the news box about the second russian journalist to be killed in the past day
Why yes. Yes it does.
Heh, De ja vu all over again…? 8-)
Ironically enough, I’m seeing 2 copies of #166.
Speaking of great comments, did you guys see this from John in Sacramento on the Moonie thread today? Talk about rich.

I’m not! Go figure!

I think Hmmm was pulling a funny. a funny.
I know
You’re welcome.
By the way, he is part of a group trying to create a Science-themed Presidential debate called Science Debate 2008 (their site doesn’t load in Firefox for me):
http://www.sciencedebate2008.com
Just imagine McCain at a science debate!
I find that if I click on the new comments button twice the comments come up twice until you refresh.
Damn, I tried to do a 2nd “I know” … duplicate message filter my heinie…
Thanks, mary. Safari there? Safari here.
tis the most common cause – an accidental double click of that link will result in double results but a hard refresh of the page does fix the problem

Well, Moyers is finally on here, I shall bid ya’ll a fond adieu! Aloha Oe!!!
Firefox/Mac here (now), and I’m getting occasional duplicates, too.
the . will usually defeat that (wicked grin) it does catch me too
I can hardly wait for the general election debates. I’m just afraid that McCain won’t debate. Can he just say no to debating?
aloha ct
81% of Americans say government should pay attention to polls.
Ha! That reads like a parody headline from the Onion.
Sweet dreams, CT. Go watch the lava this weekend and let us know how it is.
Aloha, CTuttle.
lol
lol
he could but that is not the way to attract voters
I know that, but he’s going to be absolutely humiliated and crushed in the debates. I know he’ll wear an earpiece with somebody feeding him the answers, but he’s too far gone for even that to help!
Ron- yes I discovered that when I was googling for Lawrence Krauss. That also is a great link. Anyone who watched his speech (and even if not) should know that science and scientific literacy are incredibly important, not just “because”, but because the US has fallen behind on an issue that is of economic importance. I don’t usually focus on economics, because I do basic research in science, but really, this is something that we need to pay attention to.
i’m gonna leave you pups and go clean house just in case i get any calls for showings (yeah – sure – right).
g’nite ya’ll
nite suzanne
‘Night Suz. Sweet dreams to ye.
HA! Spellings, Secretary of Education, goes to Minnesota (Coleman vs. Franken country) and promotes a program Minnesota will not qualify for!
I gotta go pick up The Sweetie from work, so guess it’s bye from me too. Sweet dreams, all. Nice typing with you tonight.
Good night, Suz.
Night, Hmmm.
The Brits are in financial trouble with credit too.
Loo Hoo- nice find! And, Howie Klein (I love Howie) has had a lot to say about Norm Coleman in his posts at DWT. Too late in the eve for me to find the DWT links, but he and Howie were classmates together in the Brooklyn public schools. And Howie remembers him quite well!
anybody home?
I’m here.
ok – guess I’ll just begin waking up, quietly, by myself then.

not too shabby…how bout you?
what sort of reading? astrological or crystal ball?
astrological – don’t trust even my own crystal ball (oh, wait, that’s actually a Magic Eight Ball)…
I need personal info: DOB, Time of birth, town & state of birth
Not something you want to put here.
hello, all. another driveby for me.
Not something you want to put here.
Oh heck, my real name has been on here several times – that doesn’t worry me.
DOB – 11-5-1955 Rushville, (central) Indiana at around 6:30 A.M. (I think).
Vienna…ahhhhhhhhhhhhh
You have to be absolutely certain and exact on the time.
One degree less or more can mean a huge difference. Find out EXACTLY and get back to me. or tell suzi.
I can tell you some with the date.
Definitely take Monday off fahrender – I arranged everything to do just that *today*
damn – forgot to go to Vienna, though…
I can say you are always in or longing for a twosome. That is what feels best for you.
ok – will do.

You have a stellium in Scorpio jayt
umm, neither I nor dictionary.com know what “stellium” means…
found my birth certificate – but it just says that I was born – not at what time though.

If you’re still here -
How do you factor in the possibility that it was long enough ago (maybe not even that) when whoever was in the room didn’t place any importance on recording time of birth precisely?
mornin’ Waccamaw – isn’t that what mothers are for? I’m pretty sure that mine a seriously vested in that particular day…
Hello, luv -
I was one of the cut and stitch varieties; gotta feeling the mum was a wee tad too “out of it” at that point in time to care much about whether she was “vested” in the process or not. *g*
How’re the ankles doin’ these days?
time to wake up a little – it’s almost 6:00 A.M. here. Neighbors wouldn’t know how to act if I wasn’t up at this hour on a weekend morning playing a few of my favorites:
Johnny Lang – “Lie to Me”:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DayCrQWJXuI
(and I’m still not buying the idea that this is why none of them speak to me)..
In fact, a lot of ‘em are kids, and last night must have been a big one, ’cause from the number of doors I hear opening and closing, I think a lot of them are still awake too. and fwiw, in reality I keep my music turned down “real” low this early. I’m not really a terrible jerk – I just play one sometimes.
How’re the ankles doin’ these days?
back to their normal, unswollen (but still pretty damned ugly) selves – thanks for asking.
Just how badly did you muck ‘em up playing (basketball?) iirc?
Just how badly did you muck ‘em up playing (basketball?) iirc?
by the time I was a senior in H.S., I spent pretty much every day with one or the other sprained – just a matter of getting used to it.
Didn’t really play much for a couple of years ’til I went and played for awhile in Europe; by that time, they’d healed up pretty well.
Sounds like they were just biding their time to come back and haunt you.
Forgive the worrying from this end of the line but, if you didn’t get them checked by a medical professional this time, please do if it happens again. I know a number of pups were nagging you about that so hope it doesn’t offend to have another voice added to the chorus.
wanna see/hear my cousin Jeff (heh) play?
Wilco:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHnEMdXN_FU
and – no prob, Waccamaw – thanks.
damn another hardwood warrior down for the count! It’s why I swim everyday now but it was knees rather than ankles.
nah – in the end, it was plantar fasciitis that eventually put an end to the playin’ days. That shit hurt so bad (like stepping on a sharp stone barefooted with each step). *That* pain, even my subconscious couldn’t make it through – I started noticing that jump stops became two or three step stops – the explosive moves were no longer explosive – just kinda rolled into them.
And I was no longer the quickest guy on the court – couldn’t deal with that part especially – *that’s* when I gave it up…
So some of ya gets up with the chickens eh?
I’m headed the other way, it’s 4 am out here.
Good nite doggies!
Sleep well, Busted.
From today’s IndyStar:
Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., is now the top recipient of Hoosier dollars in the presidential race, according to the Federal Election Commission.
At the end of February, Obama had raised a total of $664,510 from Indiana, while Clinton had raised $584,632.
Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., who came in second in February fundraising, now ranks third overall with $356,185.

pretty hard to believe in this state…
Per Paul Keil at TPM:
So, the people who snooped are not the contractors and not employees of the State Department, and the State Department has no authority to fire them. It can only insist that they be taken off that particular contract.
There’s no indication that the State Department has fired the contractor, Stanley, Inc., and no indication that Stanley, Inc. has fire those particular empoyees.
mornin’ and a very lazy one here
Washington Journal this morning:
7:30 am – Donald Lambro, Washington Times, Chief Political Correspondent
8:15 am – Farhana Ali, RAND Corporation, International Policy Analyst
8:45 am – Newspaper Articles & Viewer Calls
9:15 am – Chad Ruyle, You Walk Away, Co-Founder & President
on CSPAN this morning, the announcer stated that just this week Stanley was awarded a contract for processing passport applications.
“Fired”? darlin’. Iirc (and take that with a very large grain of salt), I read?heard somewhere this morning that the Department of Stoopid very recently awarded them a new contract to do more of the same. Can’t remember source, unfortunately. :-(
LA Times
wonder how this fits in the timeline
josh has details at talkingpointsmem0.com
Yup! Appreciate your being able to confirm that there’s actually some shred of memory left in teh ol’ brain.
Good Morning everyone.
I call for the resignation of Secretary Rice.
This sounds interesting! Bet it generates some relly intriguing calls…
I’m thinking in some way this contract award led to the the uncovering of the breeches.
Good morning all.
speaking of TPM as well. It’s probably already been covered here, but sometimes the sheer audacity of these guys, while you just *know* they’re secretly laughing their asses off, is truly enough to make my blood boil.
http://talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/184936.php
I second your motion!
Thanks but it’ll never happen.

Uh-huh. When they open their mouths, you know that they’re….

The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready, and the biscuits are out of the oven. Have a grand day.
mMmmm, I love the way the butter melts on the biscuits. I dropped off a flat of pansies for you, Marion. Way too early to muck with the soil here :(
We have about an inch of fresh snow here in Michigan, and we’re due for another inch tomorrow (Easter!).
