I really don’t care about what Wright says he is a loony as far as I am concerned and if people want to go and hear a Looney preacher good luck to them. What this goes to is character and Obama when he had to tell the truth he didn’t and it started back when he nixed Wright out of the invocation the day Obama announced his candidacy for Presidnet. Even then he was aware of hatred that this man spewed and he didn’t want the White voters to hear it or see it so they kept it wrapped up for as long as possible then when it blew up Obama Lied about his experience with Rev Wright. And another thing is this, Obama took his children to this church and allowed the hatred of this man to be planted in their minds. The US government createed AIDS in order to kill black people? WHy would any one allow their children to listen to this crap. It seems to me that Mr. Obama is very conflicted with his inter-racial background and has sought a black father figure to replace the one that abandoned him as a child. Perhaps abandoning the Rev. Wright would be akin to losing his father all over again. None of this should matter except for in a political sense where he claims to be a race-transcendent figure, and where some of his key support comes from white males who can’t abide the thought of a woman President. Despite the MSM spin on his speech, I wonder if some of his independent base will slip away to McCain in the general election because of his mishandling of this controversy. The issue was not that racism exists in the US; it does. The issue was whether black racism and bigotry was somehow different from its white counterpart, and whether it could be mitigated someway. The issue also goes into his judgment and whether he truly transcends race as some have claimed. In addition, whether his initial response to deny hearing any controversial statements from his mentor of 20 years could be reconciled with his speech where he left that door open.
