I think that she will be long remembered for nixing impeachment, and not much remembered for anything else (except being the first woman Speaker). I agree with you on this and many other issues. I also think David Obey was right when he kept pointing out in that one video that they don’t have the votes, which applies to many things. I’ve come to the conclusion that much blame goes to the blue dogs who should not be wearing the Democrat label. They make us look bad, they keep us from having a common thread in our party, and we get the blame for gridlock at all times, in the majority or in the minority. How can we create a platform with any meaning whatsoever with blue dogs hanging around our necks like a millstone. So then, the Rethugs get to define us. Seems to me it would be smarter to define ourselves and then tell the blue dogs that if they don’t like it, they should create a party of their own. Maybe redefine American politics to include a third or even fourth party. That’s the reality anyway, after all.

Selise, I’m definitely in the minority when it comes to Nancy. I do understand that. There are many times when some will jump to the conclusion she’s caved again, but it’s because they don’t understand that the process is finished. In other words, they quickly will jump on her without realizing that there are rules or votes that still have to happen.

Anyways, I like her, but there are times when I do “air-strangle” her when I’m watching her on my television. Same thing with Reid too. I would say he more than her gets me to react that way.

Secret sessions should not be used as a cynical, delaying tactic to block the House from voting on critical legislation that would strengthen our intelligence collection efforts and protect the American people from warrantless surveillance. The request for a secret session should not have been granted.Representatives have secure facilities to view any info that the administration wishes to put forth.It is another ploy put forth on the eve of an important vote which offers insufficient time to investigate whatever is put forth.More weapons of mass destruction and pardons for violators of the 4th amendment.
