Two centuries ago, most all grasping aristocrats eventually succumbed to gout, because of their silly and mordantly expensive diets. The rich no longer suffer from gout. They’ve learned what to avoid. This is the key to success in life, and gastro-intestinal nirvana.

Wasn’t this also related to the fact of salted foods (no refrigeration or properly canned foods) and the lack of an importnat nutritional supplement (i.e. iodine)?
