John McCain drinking game: Any time he pauses for half a second and DOESN’T say "my friends" take a drink. You’ll be sober as a judge for the entire night.
MSNBC, 9:40 pm ET:
Texas 15% — Obama 50%, Clinton 48%
Ohio 35% — Clinton 57%, Obama 41%
Vermont 70% — Obama 60%, Clinton 38%
Rhode Island 49% — Obama 28%, Clinton 61%
Update: Don’t know quite how Obama Chief Counsel Bob Bauer crashed the Clinton conference call but it’s odd (audio here).

Ohio looks bad
Rachel waited so long she just exploded!
Joe has got to GO!
letters@msnbc.com
Hillary!
Rhode Island, too.
Rachel is the reason I watch MSNBC on these nights … she is so good.
For whom? There are a lot of big vote counties not in yet…way too early to be positive about either TX or OH on the Dem end of things in my mind.
this needs to be POUNDED HOME
http://thinkprogress.org/2008/…..n-economy/
Why is she always paired with Pat…? Similarly, Melanie Morgan and Eric Solz…! Hmmm…
I wish this would get wrapped up. Hillary, Obama, it doesn’t matter. But they’re both getting pissy and it’s not helping.
What country is Ohio in…I forget.
Pat Buchanan *loves* Hillary’s goin’ negative.
Can you say “ulterior motives”?
This is crazyness! But either candidate will be such a wonderful, refreshing change!
If Hillary is the nominee I’ll vote for McCain after the bullshit she has pulled.
I think that may need to be more thoroughly defined…
omg
well, thank Gawd the reptile speeches are OVER. wonder how McStain feels of George the Lessor anxious to get on out there and CLEAR THE HELL OUTA SUM BRUSH for him!
lol
Ding.
Hear, hear!
What happened? My TV is pixallated to the point of no viewing. It’s perhaps a magical thing. This has never happened before…
Alas, I also have grown tired of the endless debates, campaigning etc. I’m itching for the main event (and also hoping that Obama takes Texas)
left you some polling links downstairs
Great — way to go on the federal court system, the Supreme Court and generations of Federalist Society bullshit inflicted on the nation. Awesome.
Just for starters…
Does Diebold still keep the score in Ohio?
Nooooooo
we can write in ANYONE. we could write in Obi, i do believe, but no no no to vote rethug
Who will the McCain V-P choice be?
McBushy sez the economy puzzles him
Not me. Regardless of the crap that Hillary has pulled, I’ll still vote for her if she wins the nom.
We can’t survive another Republican administration. We can’t.
Finally! A drinking game an alcoholic can play. Pour me one.
McBush will “break bread” with Bush tomorrow…you know what they say about “breaking bread with”….Hagee knows.
Sorry
Supreme Court justices (’there’s no place like home, there’s no place like home…’)
he’s JUST NOTICING BEING PUZZLED????
dude should really read the papers. America has been calling him puzzled for years now
If it’s Crist will someone out him?
McCain/Maliki 2008.
-G
Mine does that right before a downpour.
I won’t do that. But I will abstain from voting for president, and focus on down-ticket races. Hope it doesn’t come to that, but I can’t abide rewarding bad behavior. Neither can I abide helping the Carville/Begala crowd getting back in control of the party, and undoing all the progress that’s been made with the 50-state strategy.
. . . and then there’s the Second Hundred Year War . . .
no kidding, just look at the supreme court …
Sic’em Redd, I’ll personally talk to him later…!

I knew Sen. Clinton would be ahead in the early reporting rural areas. It looks like Sen. Obama’s gonna be too far behind for the urban areas to bail him out as they report later tonight.
Coupled with the way she’s squeezing him in Texas, it doesn’t look good for this Obama fan.
I predict that McCain will pick Charlie Crist as VP, now he is the Gov. of Florida.
Don’t they call that drinking game “Fork the Dealer”?
I’ll see your McCain and raise you a Ralph.
I just love you, NPB. The same way I love RonD. You are both always so positive and polite. Is it possible to love people you don’t know?
Now there’s a thought, I’m not pulling the lever for her no matter what.
the GOP is more like GOPWM … you really think he’ll pick another gray haired ol’ white guy?
Trend in OH seems close to what we saw in WI
Texas is posting results from rural counties mostly…
Sheeeet
some asshole. I can’t see Charlie Crist with thw gay whispers. then again, i couldbn’t see him getting the nominatioin for governor or winning the general because of that either. i think he’s a dipshit. burt he’s young and from a state with alot of electoral votes.
I dunno. some asshole. there are so many to choose from.
Nah. Crist just said the other day he wasn’t interested.
Good point.
Remember Poppy Bush and the grocery scanner? “It’s the ECONOMY, stupid!”
Screw it, I’m crashin. Good luck good people.
If it is true John Edwards is gonna endorse Obama I would hope he’ll let both court him first. Call me crazy but with this extraordinary primary turnout I’d rather see him keep all his options open.
Loo Hoo, define “don’t know”
Chuck Todd nailed it with, the late nite prediction, on the late #’s for both in OH and TX!
That will be helpful.
Will it be Pawlenty? Whoever it be, he will be a white male with a minimal rap sheet and the ability to read his brownshirt warmongering cheerleader lines – and basically stay in the background and keep his mouth shut.
The country wants the Neocons gone.
whoever wins the dem nomination…
I hope they’ll immediately announce that on Jan. 21, 2009 they will begin the prosecution of bush, cheney, and the rest of the pub crime family!!
Take about energizing the base!
you can vote for Nadir
ohio tilting toward hil…. going negative has turned the race her way – yup fear still sells in the land of the free……….
hey jim. you asked me whether i lost my power last week. and i didn’t get back to you. i didn’t did you?
could be charlie. what about mel martinez? nah. another shamnesty guy.
You heard me! ;-)
Does any one know where I can get the numbers (not percentages) of votes per state? I am wondering if there is more turn out for Dem’s or Rep’s and how big the difference is.
Yup.
Rachel’s a babe!
I’m not ruling out Darth.
He’s been way to moderate for the knuckle dragging reich wing crowd. No, St. John needs a theocrat to run with
There was a headline somewhere that McCain won’t pick Crist because too many people think he’s gay.
me too.
BTW, I’m blogging while looking out a hotel room window about 40 stories above Times Square. CNN droning in the background, with an amazing view.
I’m worried about how Obama will do tonight. I only hope I won’t feel like flinging myself out the window when Texas and Ohio are fully tallied!
Thank you, Loo Hoo! You are an endless source of kindness and positivity, and it always brightens my day when I see you on thread.
{{{Loo Hoo}}}
That will be helpful too. Is there a part of “Supreme Court” that’s complicated for you?
i think the news about the memo today on the front page of the NY times did it …
I don’t know where, but the difference in numbers is profound. Just me saying that….can’t support with real numbers yet.
Remember she’s always been expected to win OH and TX … these were hers to lose and Obama was down by huge margins in both just two weeks ago.
Brian Williams now taking up residence in McCain’s shorts.
Good advice.
Brian Williams just said McCain was shot down in a lake in the middle of Saigon. Now that was one hell of an NVA recovery outfit!
most places will list both. noonan’s been reposting from C&L w/ numbers and percentages. cnn has ‘em too. dem turnout >>> thug turnout.
So far in the VP race Crist gets a couple of mentions.
Some old white guy is another.
The Governor of the Great State of Falling Bridges.
Any other guesses? Don’t be shy!
The Pentagon is getting worked up because China is using all of their money to beef up their military.
Keep grinding the US military into the dirt in Iraq. Keep arming Sunni insurgent groups and claim that it makes the US look strong instead of really, really desperate.
Morans!
-G
that’s what i think too. heck, i think he’s gay. won’t be charlie. if it is, think the media will sit on that?
Brian Williams – McCain groupie.
NO FLINGING OUT! WE don’t do that! I live in the flat south west and couldn’t if i tried!
if I CAN’T, NO ONE CAN!
We did not expect much repub turnout here in Texas since the race was pretty well decided for them.
The VP will be chosen for him. He is not in control.
Bob, please don’t do that. We need you to fight the Shays borg and rid congress of him.
that’s what I figure too … no way vp-for-life is letting anyone else take that slot. plus this time, once mccain keels over, he gets to be pres in name too!
Possible, just stick in another battery and he good to go!
no chit, that was REALLLLY THROW UPPPY!
‘night, Raven.
that’s maroons!
Please keep the caps-lock off. Thanks.
you are missed already Raven.
you mean the united states supreme court?
Lots of cities not in yet. The same where voting was tough in 2004.
McCain/Cheney 2008! a dick and bigger dick.
-G
yahhh – maybe but i figired obama would pull a win in texas… and he may do so….
FDR:
Will that be the next President?
——–
Oh, and Brian Williams is an idiot. If McCain had ejected in the middle of Saigon (as he just stated), he would have been chasing tail in Cubi Point that evening, and getting shitfaced on the other side of Shit River. I guess that when you’re fellating a republican, facts really don’t matter.
I agree.
When I try to guess who among the TheoCons would be the most acceptable to McCain, Huckabee and Brownback are my two top possibilities.
http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/
click on individual states for numbers
Darth is in his hideaway right now picking the VP.
I’m one of those that doesn’t care if it’s Obama or Hillary. Once Edwards dropped out, I stopped caring. I only want the most electable. Unfortunately, I don’t know who that is. (Well, actually, I do know. It was Edwards, hence the media blackout).
I do, however, want this to be over and concentrate on McCain. John McDirty McCain.
They are posting pretty good info, and updates:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/
Obama creamed Vermont, he’s down 21 stix in RI at 50% reported.
Obama down 16 stix in Ohio, with 37% reporting.
He’s got a two stick lead in Texas, with only 37% reporting.
From all I’ve read, unless HRC wins BIG, the party leaders (including the 350 or so undecided super d’s) will likely ask her to step out of the race.
I don’t think Hilary is gonna win big, across the board. A 15% overall win in Ohio and a much closer Texas will NOT put her over the edge for the delegates.
And the party leaders, ostensibly, want this over NOW, for a winner, so as NOT to give the Pub’s resting room while the dem’s duke it out. That’s a HUGE strategy defeat for the dem’s and many political analysts are talking about it. They want to desperately avoid giving away this election out of mismanagement.
The party is already unified. DNC leadership is NOT fully behind the DLC and will NOT let them drag this primary out, to enable a pub win in the general.
Unless some SERIOUS skullduggery comes afoot, it’s Obama for the dem’s, methinks.
Course, history, AND the dem’s have proven defeat CAN be snatched from the grasp of victory.
And history has shown, new emerging leaders are often struck down . . .
But I think, the DNC has taken a firm stand against the DLC . . . which is a GREAT start compared to the ‘00, ‘04 elections, which we gave away (they stole them but we created the fudge room with inept party leadership).
Here’s hoping. Change is on the horizon . . . and I’ll take a blind shot in the dark for change rather than any semblance of the status quo.
Cuz I’m a progressive. *G*
Saigon? Heh a little north, Brian! Hanoi! I seem to recall the Hanoi Hilton mentioned a few times…!
I also meant to say that China is using OUR money to beef up THEIR military.
Maroons!
-G
Interesting exit poll comments — a number of senior citizen Republicans chose Clinton over McCain.
“The Pentagon is getting worked up because China is using all of
theirour money to beef up their military.”Slight correction.
Houston not in yet
Ah, I just checked and the windows have those safety latches on them so they only open about 6 inches. I left my screwdriver in the van, so I guess I’ll have to stick it out. :)
LOL !!!
Is this storm hitting you as well ?
Hey, maybe McCain will pick JEB! to head up his VP search committee and guess who he’ll pick? It’s the Dynastical thing to do, after all…
I don’t think Man on Dog Santorum’s dance card is filled these days. That would give them a fire breathing theocon.
Yes. Where I would rather have a Democrat making the next nomination(s).
Has “RepubliCains” been said before?
No, we were fine at the house, but several traffic lights went out and caused a lot of mess.
I’m an idiot, I just sat through 5 innings of Gator baseball in the rain. At least we won.
Even if Charlie has said he doesn’t want the slot, you know he does. It’s hard to find a picture of St. John these days without Charlie and Huckleberry around. Can you imagine the Republic heads exploding if Crist is outed after being chosen at the convention? Get the popcorn.
I hear chains, squeaky wheels, and rusty gears screeching to a halt. The GOP race is over and republican voters don’t have to think about the election anymore.
Don’t forget Columbia. We’ve been forking over huge sums to them to fight the War on Drugs. All the money goes to Bushco approved dealers.
Maybe his own sef.
True enough.
McCain/Cheney 2008! a dick and bigger dick.

Well, it good to know that the Republican Party is nothing if not consistent, another Old White Man nominated. Just like one Big M*c after another, all have the same bland flavor.
Is that French?
I’m down here behind the Orange Curtain (Orange County, CA) and I’m quite surprised how many old Republicans like Hillary… it’s a shocker the first time you hear it…
Wouldn’t Euros buy them more?
Funny how they always have trouble with counting votes in Ohio . . .
But, but, but…they have new wars on the horizon…Colombia/Venezuela/Equador…..Syria….Iran…..
They are no way done yet….Rome burns….
Storm?

We just got back from our caucus. For our precinct (1300 households) 176 people showed up to caucus. Obama 104-Clinton 72. My husband was elected Campaign Captain and will be a delegate. The Obama supporters selected 12 delegates and Clinton 42. There were four precincts meeting and the turnout was amazing! I heard that the Obama supporters outnumbered the Clinton supporters almost 2 to 1.
What an exciting night! And so many people there from so many different walks of life I had the most amazing conversation with a gentleman who is probably in his late 60’s, a former Marine, and was voting Dem for the first time in his life!
I liked Morans better.
;~P
It will win McCain back the Catholic vote!
sure — but euros cost more also ;)

Dems 966,923 with 45% reporting
GOP

It will be interesting to see who has the largest turn out.
Maybe MSNBC could bring Blackwell back on to explain it to everyone.
I’m with you, right down the line…. both good… Edwards…..media sucks… don’t care… most electable.
I am watching CNN and it has been surprisingly good. They just finished a good analysis of where the votes have been counted in Ohio and Texas relative to each candidates particular geographic strength.
Based on that it looks like Ohio will tighten as the big urban areas are counted, but probably not enough for Obama to win. Texas is just too tight to call now. The urban areas and latino border areas just haven’t been counted.
how did clinton supporters select so many more delegates?
Republicans for Obama? errrr, that’s not good. The Wurlitzer at Werk?
It doesn’t get any funnier than that.
-G
Blue America candidate Vic Wulsin running way ahead in OH-2 over crypto-repub Steve Black: 55-39 with 47% counted.
I have talked to her a couple of times, she is delightful.
Columbia or Colombia?
Nice! Thanks for the report!
The string of wins Obama has had creates an impression that he will sweep everything but the results that count are delegates – and momentum I think.
Clinton’s campaign was so confident just a short while ago that they proclaimed TX & OH their firewall and said she needed to win both to just stay in the race.
Yes it is: Républicain.
But I was wondering if it had been mentionned in any deragotary way before…
Some TX precincts may not be done, depending on turnout.
I’ve been hearing republican operatives were asking repubs to go vote for obama did you see anything of that?
graveyard shift
“That delay coupled with snow and ice that blanketed northern Ohio will result in late results from Cuyahoga County, which is heavily Democratic and has 12.3 percent of the state’s population. Elections officials estimate it will be 4:30 a.m. before they have all votes counted.”

johnny come lately’s. florida made a name for itself with that shit.
We’re getting about 10 inches of snow and ice pellets overnight … I thought you guys get the same weather systems we do …
I prefer “republican’ts”
cnn exit polls showed clinton narrowly winning both. as pointed out downstairs, early voting could change those results. but prolly not in obama’s favor.
Yay Wilsun! what good news!
Why did Hill get so many more if Obama won your precinct?
Where do you live?
-G
New York stores are accepting Euros…it’s that bad…the value of the dollar is almost non-existent. We might end up changing currency, ultimately.
Yeah, the Pukes like him– he’s a post-partisan centrist, he loves Reagan and he’s comfortable with his faith.
No real surprise there. They have figured out that he won’t do much to rock their boat.
Did you caucus?
Agree.
rethugs. it’s short, and everybody GETS it.
good news!
Is HRC doing herself or the Democratic party any favors by continuing in this race? Talk of “fighting it out” is starting to depress me, when we should be looking at taking down McCain, not another Democrat.
November will be here sooner than we think, and we can’t get these days back.

Yup, we’re getting it a few hours after you. 15 centimetrs of heavy stuff. Hard on the shoveler.
They’re afraid they’ll be asked about Rezko and NAFTA.
I know. I went to FL to do election protection for the 04 race. That year Ohio won the “something’s rotten in Denmark” prize,
I see that Bush will be annointing the McBush tomorrow. How cute.

Texas – absolutely tied.
well, that is the point. when i get too upset about clinton, i try to think about how i’d feel if the tables were turned. which might be happening tonight … i just want one of them to win w/o doing too much damage along the way…
Yeah, actually either one. I personally have less animus towards Obama, but really like neither of them. Edwards was my pick, but he had the oxygen sucked out of his campaign faster than a 747 depressurizing at altitude.
600 votes seperate hillary and barack in texas… talk about your squeakers!
Who would Jesus bomb?
A report from pct. 409 in South Austin, Texas:
We have 1634 registered voters in my prct. 234 of these sattended the caucus. We had a big room and no doors were slammed on anyone. Of the 234 democrats in attendance we had 154 Obama; 1 Edwards and 82 Clinton or 65% Obama to 35% Clinton resulting in 17 delegates to the district convention for Obama and 9 for Clinton. An exciting night. I sat the poll all day for Obama and encouraged voters to return for the Caucus. The Obama Organizers were all local (residents of 409) but the Clinton organizers were flown in volunteers from New York, Chicago, and Virgina. The Obama supporters were elected Convention Chair and Secratary but the Clinton supporters who opposed these oficial were voted to shadow positions so that the numbers could be double checked and there be no animosity. All was ducky. I am home now happy and tired.
Gracias Muchacha!
Has Rezko ever developed into anything? Or is it still just bullshit?
15 centimeters, I like that! It sounds so much bigger than 8 inches!
Oh man, Texas is getting real close! How the hell am I supposed to get to sleep tonight?
Breaking: Vermont towns approve Bush, Cheney indictments 04 Mar 2008 Voters in two Vermont towns approved measures calling for the indictment of President [sic] Bush and Vice President [sic] Cheney. Both are accused of violating the Constitution. The measures call on police to arrest Bush and Cheney if they ever visit Brattleboro or nearby Marlboro.
Delegates aren’t there for Clinton with a tie, right? How is this ‘momentum’ for Clinton without a blowout in either Ohio or Texas and wins in both?
Clinton will take the wind out of the Democratic sails. Despite the discontent in the land, America will not vote for Hillary in the numbers to get her elected. Another Republican victory in the general means that whatever happens can be clearly put on the doorstep of the quasi-fascist party. Only then might the Republican Party be relagated to oblivion.
Don’t look at me … jesus is a fictional character, imho
Thanks cAustin.
they buried hil too soon – i guess all the reports of her regaining white male voters is the edge she needed…. i for 1 dont care for the way she’s running – country will be split yet agai imo…
the nyt texas map with mouse over to see the vote count is pretty cool. of course, they always trail way behind everyone else in voting currency. but still pretty cool to look county by county.
still in court, they’re picking the jury right now
I’ve heard that. Things aree pretty screwed up down here though.
starting to sound like the caucus votes in TX are going to go to Obama…
We don’t get your patterns for a day or so.

My proposal from the previous thread is that they should be bound together.

Dem 1,405,486 with 22 % reporting
GOP 674,962 with 25 % reporting
More than double in dems turn out it seems, at least at this early stage.
Mahalo, cAustin!
As I have been saying all along in these posts…in Texas the delegates are NOT distributed by STATEWIDE vote. It all comes down to the districts, and these distributions tend to favor Obama. In addition the caucuses may also tend to go that way…if the Clinton campaign doesn’t actually challenge the results as a chit for the admission of Michigan and Florida.
It’s sad when a State that follows the national rules and had heavy campaigning by both candidates and heavy turnout gets “challenged” in order to allow States that only had one of the two names on the ballot or where people didn’t campaign at all have a biased delegation.
Yesss… Would Brattleboro extradite them to The Hague to stand trial for war crimes?
clinton ahead now by 1000 votes per cnn
Thanks for doing what you did, and then for such a clear and succinct report. Sleep well and happily — you’ve certainly earned it!
Well, Obama ran away when reporters asked him about it, so I guess he thinks it’s significant.
cAustin – what a great report! and good to hear that everyone worked so well together!!!!
“Funny how they always have trouble with counting votes in Ohio . . .”
Absolutely embarrassing. When I went to vote today we used paper ballots that you filled out like the SAT test, you know, fill in the oval next to your candidates’ name.
In 2008.
Unbelievable.
Not a good time to be afraid IMHO unless there is a reason. Uncharacteristic absence.
I resemble that remark!
;~P
won’t hurt BO.
i think the hispanic precincts in the south are just starting to report
Still bullshit
I like your attitude. That sounds like a dream ticket, but do you think they could overcome the neanderthal vote?
At least ya have a paper trail and no hanging chads…! ;-0
Oh, okay … my friend was in New Hampshire in Jan and got hit at the same time we did … must have been a really big storm or two separate ones hitting at the same time …
Ongoing trial
Government Official A proved to be our Boy Governor – G-Rod (D)
OMG! We may get our country back…it’s possible.
Texas will ebb and flow tonight…the urban areas will go for Obama and the rural for HRC. Great progress, considering the days of DeLay and Bush.
Whatever happens…the goal is kick the bums out for evah!!! The turnout is amazing for a primary. Elections matter.
Power to the People. Take our country back! (I’m not shouting…ok)
but, you’re dealing w/ reality … and for today, it’s all about clinton being able to “reverse” obama’s momentum. make the argument to the superdelegates and try to reverse the funding flow to obama. superdels will follow the money. the money may follow public perception. will be interesting to see how fast the MSM turns its guns back on clinton if she “wins” both ohio and texas tonight.
it sucks that FL was ever allowed to happen the way it did. if hillary does well tonight, she gets mo’ goin’ into PA, kicks ass and we have a real ballgame.
No?
gitmo would be my first choice
Does this sound like running away? What’s addressing a question?
It’s not so much a dream as a reality
And the Neandrathals are going to vote for Ron Paul anyways
Clinton up by 8,000 in TX according per CNN.
I think they’re just screwing with us now.
Yeah, some form of ObamaClinton/ClintonObama might just stop the pain (and debates). [sighing] Inevitability?
At least tonight isn’t dull.
hey, those ballots can be recounted! way better than machines that already decided how you were going to vote.
if you didn’t see this already, it’s worth a laugh:

clinton wins ohio
i still think it’s poop. so far anyway.
49-49 in Texas!
MSNBC calling OH for Clinton
hil won ohio
msnbc projects clinton wins Ohio
Hello to Petrocelli and all of Toronto!!
Clinton projected winner in Ohio (MSNBC)
MSNBC just called Ohio for Hill!
NBC calling Ohio for Hillary
Nobody should drop out-the issue is not yet decided. Super Tuesday didn’t used to be until June. The idea that this needs to be decided right now, IMO, is false. I have a huge amount of respect and admiration for Hillary. I have felt the pull of Obama. I voted for Edwards.
Breathe deep, and let the process work.
How come you arent asked to go to the “poo” thread?
Whether either of them can overcome the Neanderthal vote with any VP choice is a tall order. That’s one reason why I was an Edwards voter. The main reason though was b/c he talked the best game.
Read the front page article on the NY times today… there’s a memo written about that meeting… it’s sorta smoking gunnish
oh shut up, tweetz.
now…. if obama loses texas – its over
I vote in PA.
What does this do to the delegate count?
((((( Loo Hoo )))))
whaty was ever wrong with those big-ass voting machines with the red handle and the curtains? why’d they grt rid of ‘em. you know,,,, if it ain’t broke…..
If he loses Texas, Hillary is justified in staying in and fighting for Michigan and Florida. Ugh.
That is the good news!
The People want no more Bushco!
In the end, we sapiens beat neanderthalis.
But they’re stubborn – last time around it took 15,000 years.
Or Colonia…but that means something different.
As I recall, the name was Latinized to Colombus (standard for the time) and the -ia was added to represent the region.
Me too. I’ll write in Edwards if I have to.
What ? Obama didn’t have to win any of these, just keep the delegate count close …
I agree, having the democratic race go this long has really given the healthcare debate breathing room and brought it to the forefront where it should be.
People were standing, waiting for the jackpot.
Oops, I got my issues mixed up– he was running away from NAFTA.
Anyway, he admitted he made a mistake getting involved with Rezko and it is still a major embarrassment for him.
sing it, sister!
i think its a done deal…. only texas will help obama to stay in the race……
standing there… Damn!
In response to jayt at 206 – My Prct is very blue – 40 Republican votes mostly for Ron Paul all Day. I am happy that we have a peaceful group of Dems here. We are all neighbors and long time residents. I do not know how this extrapolates to the rest of Texas.
Shout out to Texas Betsy, CTuttle and the rest of the regulars. I am a long time lurker and a infrequent poster.
Noooooooo, I don’t want to get banished to the poo thread! OK, I’ll behave!

Does this mean rethugs aren’t happy with their candiate?
Are these open primaries?
obama hasnt won any large states….. and he’ll not win in Pa…. central Pa is redneck country
Are you saying that he won’t get enough votes to get the delegate count ?
nooo imo – if hil wins texas as she has in ohio super delegates will flow to her…..and they carry lots of weight

Ran away? He apologized for asking Rezko if he’d like to purchase the other lot next to the home he was buying, and then purchasing the 1/6 of the lot as “siding” to his property. Investigation showed Rezko payed the asking price…Obama paid a fair 1/6 to Rezko for that parcel.
If the property had been sold to another developer Obama may not have been able to obtain the additional property. But the lot had been on the market for months…it wasn’t as if this was some sort of secret sale no one else had knowledge about.
Obama got the house for less than the asking price…but he did NOT purchase it from Rezko…and the property had been on the market for many months.
OH! There was “something of value” exchanged between Rezko and Obama. Mr. Rezko apparently was remiss in mowing the lawn after Obama moved next door. So Obama asked his groundskeeper to mow the yard on the other side of the property line. Made the whole neighborhood look nicer!

Why is the GOP voting numbers so low?
Depends on who you talk to!!!! *G*
It’s not. It pure and simply is not.
An Ohio 16 stik win and a tie in Texas with splits on RI and Vermont is no mo for HRC.
The DNC will speak, and soon, no doubt.
*G*
Course, we’ll never hear their voices and the MSM will be deaf to it’s tones.

Well tyhe Clinton Campaign has certainly tried to lower perceptions about tonight just so they can crow about it tomorrow. If she actually wins the VOTES in Ohio and Texas (and RI) she can certainly argue that her strategy paid off…even if she doesn’t win more delegates. She’s stopped Obamas win streak at 13…and “won” (ignoring delegates) three in a row.
Of course, the campaign was claiming yesterday that all she needed was one win (RI)…that Obama needed all four. Huh?!
I don’t know if the Superdelegates will buy this, maybe a few who are looking for “momentum” rationales for her. But she got really “lucky” with that Canadian “leak” from Steven Harper’s people. That kind of signals who the Republicans might actually want to face in November. Or perhapos Harper simply got word from his good buddy Bush that they needed to drag out the Democratic Primaries a bit longer, sapping money, and setting up a vicious fight at the Nominating Convention that might destroy the party.

Again!!! ;-)
I asked for a paper ballot, as our county still uses machines. I’m not sure what kind.
The DNC knows this, and they will likely squelch the DLC.
Likely already have, for that matter.
The DNC HAS to have a win. They covet the access to the treasure chest that’s been denied to them for 8 long years. *G*
Ohio won’t be fully tallied until 2am left coast time, at the earliest, from all I’m reading.
TB, what gives you rise to the call of victory?
Yer always on the mark, so I’m REAL curious for this?
It’s not LIKE you! *G*

Sounds good for the up and coming election.
Riesz? How has he run away from reporters on NAFTA? Don’t tell me you trust a leak coming out from CONSERVATIVE Steven Harper, a good buddy of GW Bush, just days before the OHIO primary? Harper was questioned by the Liberal Party about the leak in todays question time and smiling throughout like a “bad li’l boy” said it was an “unintentional leak” and said “how could anyone think a little country like Canada influence the election of such a big, powerful country like the United States”.
Harper knows precisely what he is doing. It worked for his good buddy Dubya…and it can only be seen as a favor to someone who definitely DOES support NAFTA despite what she has started to say over the last few weeks.
But I bet five’ll get you ten that most of those working-class Ohio voters thought Hillary was against NAFTA and Obama was for it.
My bad, I see the lead at MSNBC Texas Betsy . . . and following comments!
Geez, still 37% out there, and as I read it, ballots outstanding until past 2am left coast time.
16 stiks can erode quick, if the votes still out there are heavy for Obama . . .
Still not the overall win HRC needed, methinks. Ohio alone can’t win it for her, nor should it keep her in the race, if she can’t sweep Texas . . . we’ll see what the DNC has to say in the morning (or what they won’t say but will ‘nudge’).
My theory is that it’s because so many Repukes are voting as Dems in the primary (for who, I don’t know) to screw with the results.
I agree, some sheep are following the call from rush a couple weeks ago.
I think they believe they can win against Obama by calling him a muslim.
And they’ll probably try to do it in mail, phone calls and email. Dems need to keep on top of that crap. Is there a web site set up that we can send in those lieing mass emails when they come out so the Dems can address it quickly? Is there a place we can send in the lieing campaign mailings that will come out? Is there a place we can call when we get those damaging push calls? Are the dems organized to handle these problems as soon as they happen?
NRA has been aggressive abt asking for (mailings & phone calls) money/high priced subscription prices to attack Hillary. They probably figure they can collect more funds when Hill is still in the running. If Obama wins they may not be able to collect as many money.
