I have consistently voted against any FISA law which makes it possible to conduct surveillance of U.S. citizens without a warrant and without adequate judicial oversight. I also believe that we should not provide retroactive immunity for telecom companies unless it is specifically shown what actions these companies undertook at the request of the Bush Administration.

As you know, the House and Senate are still trying to iron out differences between the two branches and agree on an amended FISA bill. The latest Senate version of the FISA legislation contains immunity for telecom companies.

In order to give more time to negotiators, I supported an extension of the current FISA legislation (the Protect America Act) for an additional 21 days. Although I opposed this legislation when it was originally introduced and still oppose many of its provisions, I felt it was important to allow House and Senate negotiators to make every effort to craft a FISA bill which respects our civil liberties. The 21-day extension was defeated on February 13, 2008.

As the House and Senate continue to try to iron out their differences, I will encourage my colleagues to develop legislation which protects both our national security and our civil liberties.

First she demanded that no caucuses could be moved if the crowds got too large. Then she sent out an email with statements saying that no Obama supporters should be allowed to be caucus leaders or organizers. Now this?

Seems that she is willing to allow the party to destroy itself in her quest for the nomination.
