I have never understood why that http is already in there

“HTTP://” is only one way of accessing a site.

FTP:// will let you access some sites like a directory on your computer’s hard drive.

TELNET:// on some sites will let you access and run an application program over the net.

The browser just checks for http:// access first by default.

In the days before the “Web” the use of ftp and telnet was tedious and painful, but usable. Now we are all free to mindlessly become Obama, er uh, http users. Thank God Al Gore invented Barack Obama, er uh, the Internet.

It scares me some days that Hillary can relate to McCain knowing what he represents.

Don’t forget it was Obama who requested Lieberman to be his mentor in the Senate.

We are in the grip of some real egomaniacs who may at times appear to be stupid, but who are carrying out a plan which is consistent, destructive and truly scary.

All they have to do is examine the way Texas functions and they will see
the prototype for the corporate confiscation of public assets cloaked in
religious intolerance backed up by police state mentality we now see at
large as the new america. Greenwald is completely on target, as he usually is.

We don’t “need” a national defense per se. No one is seriously at risk of storming our beaches.

Let’s get real. The national defense “establishment” has stood up all these “fears” and they are ALL nonsense. Not USSR nor China wanted to or wants to attack us. What on earth for?
